19. Do you listen to music in your target language(s)? If so, who are your favorite artists?

chinese - 草東没有派对 (no party for cao dong)，告五人 (accusefive)，idk those are the only ones i remember off the top of my head

irish - only person i’ve started listening to so far has been róisín seoighe

i also love the marías for both their spanish & english songs

20. Opinion on duolingo?

i love that it’s free! accessibility in education is so incredibly important and considering most similar apps don’t offer nearly as much access to a language course without paying for it, it gets a big checkmark in my book. that being said, i think once you get past a certain point, it becomes pretty obsolete. it’s a good little intro into a language and it builds good habits of practicing a little every day, but it’s never going to be more than a supplement if you really want to learn a language, especially because it will often times leave you guessing on the grammar. also i think chinese duolingo sucks and probably a bunch of other non-european languages on there do too.

21. What’s your favorite method of studying?

this is really silly to say after the last question, but duolingo is my favourite for irish, mostly because i haven’t found a more entertaining way to study basic material yet.

for most of my other target languages, probably podcasts? which is kind of funny because i hate podcasts in english because my auditory processing ability doesn’t always auditorily process. but i think it’s my favourite passive study method just because it’s easy to do while i knit and if i space out it’s not like i was understanding everything anyway, so the bits i do understand when i’m focusing give me some practice and the bits i don’t understand or am not paying attention to are just a little extra immersion.
