E. I'm so glad that you enjoyed them!! The thought has actually crossed my mind for follow-ups to those two! For Overtime it would be Arya and Gendry reuniting for a full vacation with just the two of them 😏🔥 And for The Bet, I've thrown around the idea of how their relationship would continue to progress after officially coming out as a couple.

I. My guilty pleasures are any fic that's just basically PWP... Just something that I can read and enjoy without having to invest a lot of brainpower into.

N. I actually have this feeling to an extent about Dear Arya! It's a fic that I felt like I had a good strong start with, bit even though I have a ton of notes I just can't find the right way to continue it.

Q. I actually do have a scene from Between Adrift that never quite fit into the story, so it stayed in my notes. It would have been a soft domestic "getting to know one another" scene where Arya fills Gendry in on some of the things she had seen while sailing.

5. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?

so far so fast because it was the first fic I wrote with an actual plot! I usually write one-shots so this involved more outlining and trying to make sure I hit the right emotional beats in different scenes. It’s also (not coincidentally) my longest fic to date, which was a complete surprise because I was kind of intimidated by the initial Gendrya Gift Exchange word count. But I ended up indulging in so many scenes I quickly wrote past it and had a ton of fun writing it.

12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.

I’m working on the second chapter of oh, i believe you when you say it like that and am plotting out how Arya and Gendry will finally acknowledge Gendry’s...unorthodox profession ;)

16. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?

I don’t know if I’d consider them guilty pleasures, but I love friends with benefits, enemies to lovers, “there was only one bed,” and arranged marriage AUs (preferably with a dash of “we met and fell in love without realizing we were betrothed to each other”).

17. A trope you’ll never, ever write for.

Secret Baby, just not my cup of tea and don’t think I’d be good at writing it

At first, Gendry doesn’t move to follow her. It’s been so many years since they first met that she’s fully rejected the label of a “proper lady.” The Brotherhood no longer cares that they share a bed. The war has taken its toll, leaving them as each other’s remaining family. He knows this, and yet for a second, he can’t help but worry about propriety. He cannot ruin her.

Sensing his hesitation, Arya pulls him over her and holds his face in her hands. She catches his lips in a kiss with so much emotion that it makes him shudder. Her eyes slowly flutter open and in them, he sees that whatever they do tonight will not ruin them, but make them whole.

1. What’s something you’ve written that you know is OOC and you just don’t care?

Honestly, and I'm really not trying to sound pompous here but I can't think of anything? Characterization is so friggin’ important to me. Maybe in Already Home when I made Sansa a total cunt? Because despite what some Arya stans think, she's not a *total* cunt...but I admitted that I exaggerated some characteristics because it was a holiday fic and I could. IDK y'all, when has my shit been OOC? Let me know.

3. Something you wish a commenter had called attention to, but got ignored.

I am BLESSED to have the most lovely reviewers - yourself included. Between you and @foxxandbeanz someone is usually picking up on things that are important to me...probably because y’all actually know me? But if you go through and read any of my comment responses if I start it with “YESSSSS!” or any variation of that, that’s me agreeing with a reader as if I didn’t write what they’re commenting on. 

9. What’s your fandom’s most overused trope?

Friends with Benefits. Which breaks my heart a bit only because this is usually a trope I’m known for and I really don’t feel comfortable touching it with how much it’s already been used. 

10. What’s your least favorite part about posting?

The letdown of a response. Posting is cool because you feel like you’ve climbed a mountain and finally get to enjoy the view. It sucks when it doesn’t seem to matter. I was super jazzed for the most recent chapter of CFDD and the reviews just felt...meh...and between that and everything I had going on in my life it’s honestly one of the reasons I didn’t rush to write the next chapter...and then that kind of continued and my motivation was gone and I haven’t seen it since. Never talked about that openly before so there ya go.

14. What aspect of writing have you had the most growth in?

I’m stubborn so I don’t think anything?

15. We all project onto our characters. Where has your personality or life choices leaked onto the page the most?

Usually I emphasize or feature one of the main character’s sisters. I have a very strong, albeit complicated, relationship with my sister. There’s a lot of shared trauma there. So usually I play that up because relationships with siblings are important and I usually talk about it even if it really doesn’t move the story forward.

14. a fic you didn’t expect to write

can i say all of them? i started watching game of thrones very halfheartedly in the beginning of this year, solely bc i didn’t want to miss out on the cultural phenomenon of watching the final season as it aired lol. and i did not even know what ao3 was, until i discovered it during one of my first gendrya-mourning episodes, at a stupid hour of the evening. genuinely had not thought about fanfiction in a decade. so. this whole last four months or so has been a real journey for me. 

17. fics you’ll continue next year

i want to add more to this series next year! it’s quite fun to think about the fact that a/g are still very newly together in that universe, so there’s a lot to be written. i have some ideas floating around that i had hoped to get to sooner, but my current story has taken me over completely (not that i’m complaining).

19. any new fics to start next year

i think i’ll be returning to one-shots for a little while, after ttlr is wrapped up - right now, there are six semi-concrete ideas on my brainstorming list. but i have a sort of fun concept for a fake dating/friends w benefits hybrid multi-chapter story that will likely come to be at some point next year :)

Two questions,  if you please, what's the biggest difference in writing Gendrya and Arya before and after they revealed their feelings for each other? And, do you have a chronological list of the stories? I love how they jump around in time and the cues you give as to where they are at in the relationship!

The way their relationship is in this series, there isn’t a huge amount of difference. They’ve always been close and tactile, so a new level intimacy was the biggest difference. Also, there’s a privacy on Arya’s part to keep her intimate matters between herself and her partners, so when they start to sleep together and then date, she shares more with him in that respect.

As for the list in Chronological order, that’s a little tricky because a lot of the stories are a montage of scenes through out their time together. The list, which I am working on and will post as soon as I’m done, is catalogued by scene, rather than full story, because of this.

3: What’s your favorite line of narration? Idk why this is the first thing that came to mind, and it’s a bit more than a line, but I do love it:

It took all of ten minutes before Arya fell asleep on his shoulder and he didn’t dare move an inch in case he woke her. She looked peaceful, and that was one thing Gendry had never expected her to be.

Peaceful.

For a girl who was always running on espresso and always seemed ready to fight someone, peaceful seemed to suit her.

5: What part was hardest to write? 100% the smut. The ned-dayne-induced-jealousy-angst was pretty hard too actually because I wanted it to be enough to cause an argument, but I didn’t want it to be too much. If that makes any sense.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

It’s my only multi-chapter fic at the moment, so there’s that! As of now, it’s the only one where I’ve really got into their heads and developed them in a completely different universe.

CHRISTMAS EVE

It’s not like Gendry hates fun. He really does appreciate a drink and some good music as much as the next person. It’s just that parties, especially ones thrown by his uncle in his mansion of a house, are decidedly not his thing.

It’s even worse because he barely knows anyone in this place aside from Hot Pie.

Sansa and Theon are away for the weekend so they couldn’t make it, and Grey has come down with the fever from hell so he had to skip tonight, Missandei choosing to stay behind with him to make sure he doesn’t perish alone.

Gendry doesn’t have any clue where Renly and Loras fucked off to. He barely saw them when he got to the party, never to be heard from again after that.

And though he thinks he spotted that guy Jon that Sansa introduced him to last week, he’s not sure the dude actually recognized him, smiling drunkenly at him before turning his attention to the freckled redhead next to him.

He sighs tiredly as he stands against the wall in the cramped living room, watching people all around him as he shoves one hand in his pocket. He takes a sip from his drink only to realize his beer bottle is actually empty.

His eyes light up victoriously, holding his bottle up to show Hot Pie.

“We’re done,” he tells his friend. “I kept my end of the deal. My second beer is done, so now I can get out of here.”

All for Stuck with a Stark (fingers crossed for a new chapter soonish!) Which part of SwaS was hardest to write? If you could change anything in SwaS, what would it be? What are some facts readers may not know about SwaS?

3. Which part of Stuck With A Stark was hardest to write?

There have been a few really tough parts for me to get through. I think the one I was stuck (ha) on for the longest was chapter 9. I had an outline for a scene where Gendry visits Arya at the gym, then a scene where Arya visits Gendry at the workshop, then the party. I had the party written, but filling out the two earlier scenes was excruciating. I had to step back several times and look at what needed to happen, step by step, then try to make it sound, y’know, nice? Then I had to make sure they accurately conveyed where they were at in their relationship. I was so damn happy to get that chapter out and be done with it. (Although making the moodboard for that chapter was my favourite.)

4. If you could change anything in Stuck With A Stark, what would it be?

I’ve sometimes wished I had written the whole thing before I started posting? But then I don’t think I would have had the opportunity to explain why getting updates out has been tough for me, and the love and support I’ve had around that has meant so much. I also don’t think I would have learned as many important lessons as I have by having to work hard at it with people who are waiting for more. But in terms of the story, I’m pretty happy with it. I don’t think there’s really anything I’d change.

10. What are some facts readers may not know about Stuck With A Stark?

In my head, all the same characters exist in history and exist in this modern world. They’re basically reincarnations of their former selves. I didn’t want to get into that very much in the story, but I hope I’ve woven in some nice details that let that feel real.

Gosh man that chapter was sooo hard.....the angst in it and then the elements of comfort as well.

I actually used this track throughout the entire chapter, but especially when the accident first happens and then when Toby comforts Arya! It starts very slow with melancholy, but then develops a hint of warmth and hope.

@misseffie given your background, do you have any thoughts to the choice to go with natural sounds as opposed to a musical soundtrack?

@thatsaysalotalotalot I don't think there's anything I can say about that that people haven't already pointed out. But the lack of soundtrack allowed us to focus on their desperate breathing/tearing of clothes which adds to the sense of desperation they might be feeling before the battle - it makes the scene more urgent and passionate for the audience than if they had added a romantic soundtrack. Dany and Jon had time to get busy and so did other pairings - so adding an emotive soundtrack made sense. 

For Gendry and Arya’s scene I agree that it made it feel more raw and human to forgo the music altogether. They are just two people trying to find some comfort in each other before they die - and it’s the last chance for them to explore these feelings between them, which is very sad. It’s also the first time in seasons that Arya allows herself to choose ‘life’ over death. So there’s also a sense of Arya desperately trying to hold onto life before she dies.

Background music in their scene would almost distract us from what is happening instead of allowing us to focus on the desperation these characters are feeling.
