I'd like to request platonic! headcanons rinne and hiiro with their sibling who is a singer in a girl rock band like Leo/Need (not exactly the same, just as an example for the music she plays)

Hehe, thank you so much, I'm really happy to know that people like my writing! ♡ I took a listen to Leo/need (for research) and I LOVE their song 'Teratera'. Anyways, I made the reader younger than Rinne, but a bit older than Hiiro (middle child things). I hope you enjoy reading, and thank you for requesting! ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝

Rinne and Hiiro Amagi w/ a sister who is a singer in a girl rock band!

Rinne Amagi

– Your biggest supporter and he isn’t scared to show it.

– Whenever he'd go to your concerts, people would give him dirty looks because he looks like a big scary guy, but he’s just there to support his little sister.

– Would support you by buying all your group's albums and merch. You’d be embarrassed by this, but deep down you’re extremely appreciative. He would try to get himself an ita bag to display your badges, but you begged him not to.

"You don't act like this with Hiiro!" you cry.

"That's because you're different, my dear sister~"

– Since the three of you don't live together, the only time you'd meet up is at your place. You'd play a little sample for your brothers with your bass. They always listened to you attentively. You were always talented with instruments ever since you three grew up back in the village.

"Oooh, let me play one of your songs, onii-san!" you tell Rinne. "I like that song you did with 2wink, what was it called?"

"It's Lemon Squash Cheers!" Hiiro answers.

"Yes, that's it! Let's sing it all together! I learnt some parts of the chorus, hehe~"

"Aww, how sweet, so you do catch up with what I do~" teases Rinne.

"Of course I do!" you say happily. "I keep up with both of you, and I'm really proud of you!"

They were more proud of you though.

– Rinne would tell his unit members all about you. Out of all the three Crazy:B members, only Niki was interested. HiMERU was surprised Rinne had another sibling and so was Kohaku, but they didn't press on further, not until you decided to meet them for lunch one day. They were surprised at how different you were compared to their leader. You were composed and kind unlike Rinne.

"Don't fall in love with her though," Rinne would tell them, embarrassing you yet again.

"I can't believe you two are siblings though," HiMERU states. "Do you know how much trouble your brother has made for us?"

"I am so sorry for his behaviour," you say. "Hiiro and I aren't like that..."

– Rinne likes to boast about your achievements and performances. You always thought that he was favouring you over Hiiro though, so you'd have to scold him for it.

"Give some appreciation to our little brother!"

"Eh, should I...?"

"Come on, onii-san!"

– But you loved Rinne. He was your big brother that you always went to when things turned south. Whenever the haters got to you, he was always there to tell you that they are insignificant and that you should focus on those that love you. He's the first person you will ever turn to when you needed help.

– You would catch him sing to your songs and play your bass. He isn't embarrassed by this, and even asks you to teach him how to play.

"Onii-san, you should know how to play a bass," you say, not bothered to teach him nor correct yourself that the thing you were thinking of was–

"That is a tonkori; that is completely different, (Y/N)."

– He loves tossing you high in the air when your group receives an award at a music show. Well, he tosses you up in the air for no reason anyway.

– Always brings up that he wants to collab with you. The other Crazy:B members don't see a problem with this, and neither does your group. Maybe if you were permitted, you'll be able to sing on stage with your big brother one day. You could play your bass with your band whilst he dances. That would be fun!

– Ultimately, he is very proud of what you have made for yourself. He will continue to keep supporting you and your group, and will always watch your performances on his phone when he couldn't make it to your concerts in person.

Hiiro Amagi

– You're his biggest inspiration (apart from Rinne, of course)! Although he sings in his idol group too, your performances are a lot different than his. You sing AND play the bass with the other members of your rock band who play a variety of other instruments.

– He looks up to you a lot, and would watch your performances on his phone. He likes how passionate you look when you sing. He tries to incorporate the way you present yourself into his performances, but only a little bit.

– Would sneak into your concerts because he thinks that siblings don’t need to pay until you tell him not to do that because you don’t want security up his ass.

– In the end, you give him a special pass so if he wanted to attend your concerts, he can do it properly.

– He adores you so much! He would even ask you to help him with idol training. You always obliged because he’s your little brother after all, and you were incredibly proud of him!

– Sometimes you two would dance together to some of ALKALOID’s songs. He’d be surprised at how quickly you learn the lyrics. You love his group's songs and would sometimes play them on your bass. He would listen to you play with a big smile on his face.

– Also would try to sing to your songs and play your bass. He's a lot better than Rinne, and learns quick. He performs one of your group's songs to you, and you couldn't help but smile at how much he admires you.

– Would tell Aira all about you since Aira seems to be knowledgable when it comes to idols.

“I have a sister who’s the lead singer of her band. Have you heard of her?”

“Huh, you do? Who is she?”

“(Y/N) from X Band.”

“WHAT?! SHE’S related to you?!”

– He buys some of your merch, but his favourite item has to be the plushie of you with your bass. He keeps it by his bedside table at the dorms. It's like his sister is always beside him cheering him on, and of course, you were cheering him on in person too!

– Because you have more experience in the industry, he would always call you for help. You were always happy that he confided in you.

"Thank you, nee-san!"

"No problem, Hiiro."

– He misses his older siblings a lot, but he misses you more and would call you every night before bed.

"Today has been good, nee-san! I worked with my seniors at Star Pro today and I learnt a lot about being a good idol! Hokuto Hidaka from Trickstar was with me today and..."

"That sounds wonderful, Hiiro. I'm glad you're having fun!"

"Yes! I'm off to bed now, and you should go to sleep early too, nee-san."

"Yes, yes, I will... just for my baby brother~"

He laughs on the phone. "Haha, goodnight, nee-san!"

"Goodnight, Hiiro."

– He'd hug you tightly whenever you'd win an award for your group's music. He's a bit taller than you, but you adore hugs from your little brother.

– He'd hug you after every encounter, and you would let him because you missed him too. The two of you would try to get Rinne in on the hug as well, and with force, you'd succeed.

– He loves his older siblings so much, and you love him the same. It's nice to see the three of you pursue the same career.

hi I’m baffled by something and want to know if there’s a correct (?) answer to this. in Romaji, the song is Gekokujo, but what is the actual English translation? normally I wouldn’t mind waiting until songs come to EN, but this specific one has multiple translated titles from what I’ve seen. is it really Retainer Supplanting His Lord or is that just a really odd translation? if it is, then why did they go with that on official streaming services?

According to the wiki, a more direct translation of Gekokujo would be “Overthrow”, but “Retainer Supplanting His Lord” is the official English name decided by Misumi, hence why it’s called that on the single (and eventually will be called that on EN). Some other examples of where the more direct translation hasn’t been used would be Kagirinaku Haiiro e (Infinitely Grey) -> Close to Grey, Utsuro wo Aogu (Looking Up at the Void) -> Hollow, or Teratera (Shimmering) -> SHOW OFF.

oh shit let me dig up the list of commissioned songs

I'm gonna answer mostly based on the songs that are available on EN because I'm not up to date with what songs are on JP. Also this response ended up being pretty long and detailed, hope you don't mind! (putting it under cut for that reason. it is a seriously long answer because I have Thoughts)

Commission songs

Leo/need: Flyaway or Teratera orrrr Voices. These are actually the only l/n comms I even really like. Voices only started to grow on me after hearing the Luka and Shiho cover of it. Writing this answer made me go check out the full version of Teratera for the first time and they really left the best parts out of the game huh. So maybe if I have to pick one it's Teratera.

More More Jump!: Parasol Cider 100000000%! what a banger honestly. Had that stuck in my head for hours on end during the event and did not mind it one bit

Vivid BAD SQUAD: Maybe Ready Steady? I'm a Giga enjoyer and the VBS covers have been pretty nice Hitsuji ga Ippiki is a close second though! If I was including the JP songs then Beyond the Way I forgot about Moodlight. Moonlight is my favourite, the melancholic vibes will always be number one for me (this is in no way foreshadowing for the rest of this list, no way)

Wonderland x Showtime: I am in hell, truly, trying to pick just one and not every single one. Back when I started playing proseka for the first time I really adored Tondemo Wonders and it's still one of my favourites out of all proseka songs along with Potatoes but. This one is definitely between Mr Showtime and Donna Ketsumatsu. The angst of both of these songs, the melancholy!! I think it's gotta be Mr. Showtime though, I prefer the style of music of that song over Donna Ketsumatsu.

25-ji, Nightcord de: Since Kitty is not yet released on EN, this is easy, it's Samsa. I absolutely lose it whenever that song plays anywhere (my friends can testify to me going nuts at a con when a dance group doing N25 dance covers started playing Samsa). Used to listen to this song daily and I even read Metamorphosis thanks to liking the song so much (knowing the plot adds a lot to the song imo). Honestly love almost all of N25 comms though!

VIRTUAL SINGER: I'm including this here just so I have a reason to put ÅMARA on this list. What a banger. Wish I didn't suck at stair notes so bad because I would be playing this on expert all the time otherwise

Cover songs

Leo/need: Ok so. Lost One's Weeping is probably my first favourite vocaloid song ever and I want to put it as my favourite for that reason alone but. Dramaturgy because I am also a huge fan of Eve due to, you might have guessed, the melacholy vibes. Also the Ichika cover of that is very pretty! Lost and Found is also a top contender, somehow I don't yet hate it due to how much it gets spammed by tierers

More More Jump!: This would maybe be Darling Dance except I don't really like the MMJ cover. Same with Vampire. So the answer is Viva Happy (Mitchie M my beloved. Best at tuning Kaito if you ask me)

Vivid BAD SQUAD: I actually like every single one of the cover songs so far on EN. Maybe Bring It On? unsurprisingly Aun no Beats is a close contender lmao. I really like kagepro songs and I'd like to include them here but they did something to the drums in the proseka versions that I don't vibe with at all.

Wonderland x Showtime: I thought I was in hell before... Nonsense Bungaku comes to mind first along with Goodbye Declaration. Honestly I don't think they have a single bad cover... You know what I'm gonna make an exception and use a song that's not on EN yet, I think my fav cover from wxs is Childish War (though they missed a huge fucking opporturnity by not making it a Ena and Akito cover, seriously). That song is like the second or third vocaloid song I ever liked, so it has a special place in my heart, enough so that I'm planning on doing a pair cosplay of the Kagamine twins in it with a friend (also the og MV art is by Miwashiba!! I love their games and art a lot!) I think it's a superb cover, Tsukasa yelling it is very fitting and all that.

25-ji, Nightcord de: Phony, no questions asked. N25 has a ton of great covers but Phony is just Good.

To be fair I don't follow with many LeoNeed accounts on Twitter or here but I wish L/N fans were as crazy as WxS fans are with their card AUs cause I think LeoNeed have some of the prettiest cards after MMJ and Nigo & most AU potential after WxS (and no those things aren't the same)

Like, they have so many universes:

• Space train

• Astronauts

• Priestess (and later Roge Paladins) (these are both from Honami sets btw)

• Road trip/Biker gang

• That Ash Green Shiho Lim set where they could be a Metal band, or a rebel group, or both.

• Hot Take: Nigo LeoNeed AU could be TeraTera Set and the School sekai is underwater/flooded and this time they choose to get together online only but don't talk at school or irl in fear of *gestures main story* AKA we want to be together but the fear of rejection keeps us apart.

• Corrupt Orchestra (?) Corrupt Music Business (?) Elite Band (?) From the Flyaway Set. Idk they look rich and smug in that one. The Girl boss AU I guess. (HC is in the same universe as WxS Potato bc Matching Clothes Tenmas so true they are both evil (:< )

• Magical Police force from that Ichika Set.

This are all I can think of off the top of my head.

Btw AU v/s Just Pretty is like the We Are Shizuku set v/s Drop Shizuku Set. Both are pretty, but the Drop Shizuku Set is more just them in a photo shoot while the We are Set they are small little humans living in a pond. It's also We I can't think of an AU for the NEO LeoNeed set (not the anniversary song, the LeoNeed gacha I don't remember what the song it was but it was Ichikana learning to tune Miku cameo)

I wish people were more crazy about the characters they love so I could feel a little crazy about them too instead of just thinking they are alright. Bc, I confess, I had to get sold on Tsukasa bc I hated him at first. When I started I went for Rui and Mizuki bc they looked like Freaks, but ended up just being Sad Wet Cats. I don't think anyone can outsell Tsukasa for me now bc every other OC in pjsk is more like a normal person, but I want the bait y'know?

A ranking of every vocalist/Vocaloid tuning in Sekai!

Starting out with the voices:

Disclaimer: I am not attacking any of the vas here. All of them are just doing their job and singing in character, which is very different from how a lot of them usually sing. For example: Ruby is easily my least favorite vocalist in Aqours but Airi is pretty high on this list despite them having the same va. It just depends on the character and how the va is told to sing for them. Any issues I have with how a character sings isn’t the vas fault but rather the fault of the directors and Sega.

Ichika Hoshino: I wish I could put Ichika higher but out of the entire cast I feel like she suffers the most from being put in songs way out of her range. Dramaturgy, Roku Chonen, Night Sky Patrol and Lost One’s Weeping are great examples of this, she really struggles and sounds awful in all of them. She has her great moments like in Meteor Pulse, Regulus, Attract Light and Tengaku but sadly her misses keep me from ranking her any higher. I think part of my issue is that most of the time (minus Tengaku) her voice is just too soft for rock music. Compare her to Bandori vocalists that also sing hardcore rock (Ran, Yukina, Layer, Tomori and Uika) and you’ll see what I mean she sounds so much worse than all of them. She’s easily at her best with quieter softer songs than intense ones and I wish she got to sing more of that than having the team try and force her out of her range, which they sadly seem to be doing with TTB. That cover is going to suck but at least Rondo and Roselia exist.

Best alt vocal: Meteor Pulse

Minori Hanasato: Her voice is cute but nothing special. Sadly she’s never really stood out for me much in songs and sometimes her voice is just downright unfitting for them (Kigamure Mercy, The Snow White Princess Is,Flos and Near) and that problem is only getting worse with time for me. Because Sega is refusing to give MMJ any duets she’s put in every song they get and sometimes she doesn’t fit them at all.

Favorite alt vocal: Setsuna Trip

Emu Otori: I like Emu’s voice, it’s just way too childish for my liking and can grate pretty quickly. I know it’s her character but I wish they’d let her va show more range outside of that one baby voice they have her do. And unfortunately they don’t always put her in the right songs, as seen with Love Ka even if she has it a lot better then both Ichika and Minori in that regard.

Favorite alt vocal: Hoshizora Orchestra

Honami Mochizuki: This one hurts. I love Honami but she really hasn’t gotten many chances to shine outside of Flyway and Regulus. Part of that is sadly because the other Leo/Need members usually overpower her in songs outside of the two commission songs she has that are meant to show off her voice. She’s also put in a lot of songs that really don’t fit her voice (Amanojaku, Peaky Peaky, Stella), and while most of these are alt vocals I sadly cannot rank her higher. The same thing I said for Ichika (that being that she doesn’t fit hard rock all that well) is also very much true for Honami, if not even more so than it was for Ichika. Still I hope we can get more stuff like Regulus and Flyaway + she gets some more good duets that aren’t ruined by a sucky sounding Miku (Heartrate and Morning Glories).

Best alt vocal: Flyway

Saki Tenma: Her voice is really upbeat and peppy! Sadly she hasn’t really gotten many moments to shine but when she shines she really shines. She does kinda have the problem of being put in songs that don’t suit her voice though (Amanojaku and Peaky Peaky being the biggest examples) and what I said about Ichika and Honami absolutely applies to her but overall her voice is really nice. Hopefully she gets to sing more or her own songs soon (looking at you Stella and Teratera)

Best alt vocal: Teratera

Akito Shinonome: I am going to get so much hate for this. Akito is a hit or miss vocalist for me. Sometimes he makes a song with his vocals (YY, Yobanashi Deceive, Crazy, Kashika, Tokio Funka) other times he just doesn’t fit at all and really drags the song down (Meltdown and Realize). I still think he’s good don’t get me wrong, but he’s rather hit or miss for me.

Best alt vocal: Yobanashi Deceive

Tsukasa Tenma: Another hit or miss vocalist for me. Tsukasa is so good in all of his commissions and the anniversary songs but elsewhere he can sound a bit too goofy for my taste. I know it’s his character but in songs like Showtime Ruler it’s just a bit too much. Still he has his moments in stuff like Filament Fever, Cyberpunk Dead Boy and Mr. Showtime.

Best alt vocal: Neo

An Shiraishi: And we have the final member of the hit or miss trilogy. I like An’s voice but for whatever reason it rarely works with her group mates and she doesn’t really have a lot of harmony with them. And I know this is a direction issue because her va does not have this problem at all in Kamen Rider Girls or Abyssmare so I’m not sure what they’re doing. Regardless she has her good moments (Genkujo, Machi, Awake Now) and her bad (Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder, Shanti and GimmexGimme).

Mafuyu Asahina: I feel like Mafuyu has an amazing real voice if that makes sense? When she’s singing in her good girl voice I don’t really care for how she sings but when she lets loose she’s incredible. This is best seen with stuff like Ussesawa, Slow Downer, Bug and Phony in which she’s incredible. Again the problem is that she mostly sings in her fake voice which isn’t nearly as powerful, I get it it’s her character but still.

Best alt vocal: Ussesawa

Kohane Azusawa: Her voice has improved so much it’s insane. There’s just something about it that feels really pleasant to listen to, especially in Neo and Beat Eater. I’m not going to pretend that she has her flops (mainly Shanti and Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder) but overall her voice is just stunning.

Best alt vocal: Beat Eater

Shiho Hinomori: Her voice is really unique among the other L/N members due to how deep it is which really helps set it apart. It’s also the most fitting for hard rock songs out of anyone in the unit causing her to own songs like Kagero Daze, Tengaku and Voices. I won’t pretend that she hasn’t flopped (Lost One’s Weeping wasn’t her best) but she definitely hits a lot more than she misses.

Best alt vocal: Kagerou Daze

Kanade Yoisaki: Kanade easily has the most emotional sounding voice in the game. I love how it sounds like she’s crying in nearly every song she sings, it adds to much emotion to Niigo’s commissions and covers. I do wish they’d like Tomoriru use her Tamao voice for her though since she said she coughs a lot after singing in Kanade’s voice which makes me feel bad.

Best alt vocal: MKDR

Rui Kamishiro: There’s something about his voice that’s so pleasant to me. I really like how he can go loud without being to over the top yet mysterious and spooky when the song demands it. He can sound heavenly as well, he can just do it all.

Best alt vocal:Dance Orchestra

Airi Moimoi: I really love how peppy and upbeat her voice is! There’s just something about it that has this nice spunky quality that’s really pleasant to listen to and she’s the powerhouse of MMJ. That’s not to say she doesn’t have her more melancholic side either which is also lovely to hear.

Best alt vocal: Kigamure Mercy

Toya Aoyagi: There’s just something about Toya’s voice that’s so versatile to me. He can be gentle, he can be strong and he can be harsh and he owns all of it wonderfully. I think his only miss is Shu-Ran (though to be fair everyone sounded really bored there) but outside of that he eats up nearly every song he’s given. I just wish that he got to sing more soft somber songs once in a while because he really fits them.

Best alt vocal: Ghost City Tokyo

Ena Shinonome: It’s hard to explain but her voice scratches my brain just right, I love it. She can sing powerfully, do emotional ballads or sing more silent yet creepy songs and she nails all of them. I also love how she sounds with literally any Niigo member and the emotion she brings to their covers, especially Non Breath Oblige, Irony and Gehenna. Then you have her commissions which oh my god. She’s incredible in all of them, I love how emotional she sounds in Infinitely Gray, Nomad and Watashi Wa Ame. Just a great vocalist overall.

Best alt vocal:Infinitely Gray

Haruka Kiritani: I love how dynamic and emotional Haruka’s voice is. She does cutesy songs perfectly but then you get to stuff like Shoujo Rei and the Earth’s Final Confession and it gives you chills. She can really tackle any genre and sound, what a queen. What I said for Toya does apply to her as well, give her more somber soft songs Colorful Palette! Another thing id like to mention is that as far as female vocals in the game go she easily has the most powerful voice by a landslide. If you want proof just look at Devil’s Manner, I dislike the mixing on that cover but the fact that she managed to sing so well and not be overpowered alongside Akito, Rui and Kaito is just…wow. It really sucks that she won’t ever be able to sing like that again due to the nature of MMJ as a unit but oh well.

Best alt vocal: Shoujo Rei

Nene Kusanagi: Nene is the songstress of WxS for a reason, she owns most of their songs. Her voice has a really nice vibe to it that fits musical theatre esque songs perfectly which is perfect for WxS. Then you have the moments like her ahhhhhs in Glory Steady Go and the entirety of Coral where she just owns the song.

Best alt vocal: Coral

Shizuku Hinomori: I love how gorgeous her voice is, she adds so much to every MMJ song. She sounds like a goddess and brings so much emotion to so many songs, especially Hug and Shoujo Rei. Then you have her ad lib during Memato Reborn, that makes me ascend every time. Not sure what else to say she just sounds angelic and give her a new duet it’s been two years since her last one!

Best alt vocal: Yoru ni Kakeru

Mizuki Akiyama: I may be biased because it’s Mizuki and I loved their seiyuu before Sekai but their just a phenomenal vocalist. I love their voice so much in nearly every song, it sounds so powerful but it can also be soft when the song demands. Shout out to Kitty, Lower, Gehenna and IDSmile especially, they carry those songs hard. And that’s not even getting into Give Me Your Night, Venom and Villain, god it should be illegal for them to be this good. (Ps if you like their voice please check out Revue Starlight their va voice one of the main girls there and said girl sings a lot).

Best alt vocal: Gehenna

Now for Vocaloid tuning:

Disclaimer: I am going after Sega for how they tune and treat the vocaloids. For a game that’s dedicated to celebrating Vocaloid and its history it’s pathetic how dirty they continue to do the vocaloids in this game. They really need to get more people that know what they’re actually doing on board because it’s genuinely embarrassing that a majority of fanmade videos I find on YouTube are better then the actual in game Vocaloid alt vocals.

Miku: JFC what does this game do to you? This is especially true with L/N covers, her tuning in Heartrate, Ray, Roki, Dramaturgy, Ghost Rule, Teratera and When the Morning Glories Fall all make me die inside. Then you have stuff like God-ish (disclaimer I don’t think she’s as bad as others say there), Pheles and PAIII Sensation all of which aren’t the best either, like stop please. That being said I do love her in Dokuzu, Lost and Found and What Kind of Ending are You Wishing For so that’s points to her I guess.

Meiko: I’m going to be honest; the only thing keeping Meiko from being at the bottom is Kirapipi Kirapika and to some extent Filament Fever and Blender. They do not know how to tune her well, it’s just embarrassing. For whatever reason they’ve decided she’s perfect for cutesy songs like Kyu Kurarin and Kuninaru which is just….no? The point of Meiko is for her voice to be mature and she completely guts both songs. Then we have this new bizarre trend where they try and force her to be other Vocaloids that aren’t in the game for some reason which is just? In Lagtrain they tried to force her to be Kaai Yuuki, in Kibou no Tsuki they tried to force her to be Yukari and in Yoidoreshirazu they tried to force her to be Gumi. And that’s not even getting into Love Ka where they tried to overlay her vocals with Flower and thought no one would notice which is so funny I can’t even be mad about it. She’s so rough sounding in Phony, Egoist, Shu Ran and Pheles as well it’s just terrible. It genuinely kinda ruins her as a Vocaloid for me until I go and listen to Jitterbug, On the Rocks, Fraulein Biblioteka, My Love is Hellfire, The Snow White Princess Is and Nostalogic and remember “oh she can sound REALLY good”. Bottom line is: Sega get someone who can tune her because what’s going on right now isn’t working and I’m tired of her ruining my favorite songs.

Len: Len isn’t as poorly treated as Meiko and Miku but he’s not great either. Don’t get me wrong he has his stand outs like Bug but on the other hand you have Kokoronashi and Beat Eater. I don’t think he meshes very well with a lot of the vocalists either, someone on YouTube made a mix of Kitty without him and it’s impressive how much better the song sounded.

Luka: Look at how they massacred my girl. Listening to Marshall Maximizer, Dreamin Chuchu and Hello Worker makes me want to cry, especially when they had a perfect basis for the last two. Why do they make her voice so high, it doesn’t sound as unnatural as it does with Meiko but it doesn’t sound great either. At least she has Cute Na Kanojo, Living Millennium and Order Made.

Kaito: As much as I hate to say this Kaito being so high is because he rarely gets to do anything so there’s not as much of a chance for him to be messed up. Yes Dr Funk Beat and Shanti aren’t great but at least he has amazing stuff like Passion at 25, Samsa and Kiss the Villain. Everything else is fine I guess? Idk. Hopefully he doesn’t get the Meiko treatment soon (please don’t fuck up Heart Adnormal)

Rin: Despite being first Rin isn’t tuned amazingly. Still she gets out of Sekai the least scathed, I think her worst was Positive Dance time but everything else is fine to even pretty good. I really like her in Boo!, Voices and Infinitely Gray but even that doesn’t hold a candle to how good she sounds outside of Sekai. So congrats to Rin for not being totally butchered.

...GDNSIJDFHFIDBNDIFUNDFIOMGDIFM yeah i think it's common knowledge that i hate tsukasa's voice. i mean TO BE FAIR a lot of that hate comes from the fact that his voice is not well-suited to 80% of the music wxs ends up performing. he actually sounds great in rock songs (journey, ego rock..) and like... swanky, rock-leaning jazz songs like mr. showtime. but that's not the kind of music wxs usually ends up doing. so he's last place.

i promise emu would be higher but they don't take advantage of her range as much as they used to. they keep delegating her to that really high-pitched cutesy tone and almost never touch her lower range... so :(

this sucks because putting her this low makes it seem like i don't like her voice but that's not the case at all akgjdsbkjdfnbvkjfn like from this point on we're out of the "i kind of genuinely Dislike this character's singing and hearing them can sometimes ruin an entire song for me depending on how bad the vocal direction is" territory! that being said, i guess out of all the voices i Do like minori probably has to be my least favorite...? i definitely find her a lot less grating than emu, but i also might just prefer mmj's music a whole lot more than wxs's. she always sounds super sweet though <3

saki's got a really interesting voice 🤔 it's powerful and kind of... off-tune a lot of the time - kinda like her brother! this isn't something most people are ready to talk about like she IS missing notes. teratera is my least favorite l/n comm for this reason... not to say i Dislike it, but i'd rather listen to stella or something. and her teo cover is just a complete miss. but what sets her apart from tsukasa is that it? strangely?? really suits leo/need's general style of music

love rui's voice. very velvety and rich. however funnily enough i think he's kind of... weak in most of the rock/rock-based songs wxs has put out. tsukasa's the only one in wxs that can really pull that genre off he was BUILT for it. meanwhile rui was built for the theatrical ~magical~ music wxs is more known for

i love an's voice!!!!! it's very powerful. and very unique! however. she struggles to control it. which i think may be purposeful. like, none of these kids are supposed to sound professional, and what i've always loved about prsk's music is the fact that you can hear them all improving over time!! (this can also be attributed to the seiyuus becoming more comfortable with their roles but whatever. it adds a nice touch regardless)

and in an's case, it's likely supposed to be a reflection of how even though she has a "natural talent" for singing, she hasn't been given all the resources she needs to properly develop her voice. but purposeful or not it doesn't change the fact that i do sometimes wince when she hits/carries a note weirdly

similarly to an, very powerful but lacks control. technically, his voice control is worse than an's but sorry i'm biased he's my favorite character. anyway. he's canonically supposed to be the weakest singer in vbs, so i guess i get more emotional when i hear him improve..? like. he's fighting soooooo hard for this. this skill he wasn't born with. the universe wanted him to be an artist and a soccer player, but he just loves music so damn much. this is what he wants his life to be - fuck what he's "naturally" talented in. fuck natural talent. (the shinonome siblings' themes of rejecting the concept of Natural Talent and Easy Success despite what their dad has told them over and over and over again makes me wanna cry.)

ena's voice is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she packs in SO much emotion every time she sings, but she kind of struggles with higher notes? which is funny because akito really excels with those LMFAO

mafuyu's voice. it's absolutely fascinating to me - when he's singing with full emotion and doesn't sound dead and half-asleep. which, yeah i know, the monotone singing is purposeful because of his whole... everything. doesn't change the fact that i find it boring...
