You're a writer for hphm and Peregrine's fate is now in your hands. What do you do?
Easy. I let Rakepick kill him.
Seriously, even if I’m wrong about Peregrine using Rakepick through false memories, he is using her as a scapegoat either way. And that’s cowardly and simply a dick move. So, I think that Patty deserves some sweet revenge. Ideally, it’d be connected to Rakepick working with MC.
Also, to be fair, she wouldn’t have to kill him in cold blood. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t complain about it. But it’d actually be pretty funny to have a scene like this:
The duel between Rakepick and Peregrine occurs. It’s quite even at first, but soon, she’s whooping his ass. Finally, she’s about to finish him, but MC stops her, saying something about being better than him. It looks like Rakepick is about to spare Peregrine’s life, but then, he’s literally crushed by something heavy (and dies anyway). It turns out that one of Rakepick’s spells damaged their surroundings (like a giant column or some sculpture), and while it didn’t shatter right away, it had absolutely perfect timing to help Rakepick indirectly end Peregrine’s pathetic existence. Why I like this option? Because MC confirms once again that they’re morally pure, Rakepick shows that she’s not entirely evil, and Peregrine is gone 😄
I’ll accept different scenarios as well, but I just want Rakepick to destroy him.

@thedoodlecat I always assumed that Verity was from a non-magical family tbh??? Like I think her family would've been at least somewhat mentioned if they were also in the Magisterium? (since Master Lemuel also became part of the school against his will, and most magical families seem to be at least somewhat aware of each other)

@thedoodlecat I promise I'm not ignoring you, I was going to say this directly under the ask but I'll leave it there to remind myself, allow me to mellow the idea a little bit, it's still very all over the place.
But I'm happy you got interested 💕

Pick your poison!
Jalivia or Peretricia!
Tumblr media
I hate you for putting these ideas in my head… How dare you…
Ok, so to be clear, I think they’re both terrible and have no right to exist. That being said, I suppose I could… ignore Jalivia being a thing (I wouldn’t be okay with it tho). Peretricia makes me feel sick, and I don’t think I could survive it.
As much as I like in-game Olivia, and I do believe she deserves much better than in-game Jacob, I can’t say I’m super attached to her. Therefore, I just don't have very strong emotional reactions when it comes to her story. Oh, and I really don't mind people shipping their versions of Jacob and Olivia, so.. there's also that.
Now, it’s a totally different story with Patricia. I still love her in-game version from years 4-5. Like, genuinely. I actually want my version of Patty to be true to that “original base”. And sure, I pretty much ignore everything that happened to her later on (because of how out of character it was), but I guess those earlier years are simply more important for how I feel about her in general. So, the thought of her with Peregrine is just…
Nope.

https://at.tumblr.com/missnight0wl/just-for-fun-how-about-a-character-tier-of-r-and/j1pij9liimue Alright! How about this but with Circle of Khanna members?? Ben Copper Merula Snyde
Andre Egwu Badeea Ali Barnaby Lee Charlie Weasley Diego Caplan Ismelda Murk Jae Kim Liz Tuttle Nymphadora Tonks † Penny Haywood Talbott Winger Tulip K
Beatrice Haywood Bill Weasley Cedric Diggory Chiara Lobosca Fred Weasley George Weasley Corey Hayden Victor Ketsueki
So, this one was definitely more difficult. The more I thought about it, the more I felt like the differences between them are not that big. Also, you didn’t specify it, but once again, I made two lists. And I changed the tiers a little bit because… Well, let’s be real: nobody is at the “Rakepick” level, for example.
By the way, working on this made me realise that we have 22 members of the Circle of Khanna. TWENTY-TWO. That’s way too many members.
But anyway…
“How powerful the Circle of Khanna is?”
Tumblr media
“Does R "care" about them?”
Tumblr media
The commentary under the cut.
How powerful the Circle of Khanna is?
I'll start with the last tier. I disqualified all of the younger members not only because I don't like them being in the Circle of Khanna, but also because it felt a bit unfair to compare them with the rest. Now, back to the top...
Bill. I guess that's pretty obvious. Rakepick did indeed mentor him, he accompanied us to the Cursed Vaults. We also know he's powerful from the books.
Ben. Ben was called by Flitwick one of his best students in Y1 already. Overall, I believe that Ben is really powerful. And on top of that, I actually have a theory that Rakepick did mentor him secretly because I can totally see her being impressed by his potential.
Tonks. The fact that Rakepick didn't mentor Tonks personally is one of the biggest wasted potentials of this damn game.
Talbott. I was actually considering putting him one tier above, but I wish we could see more of how Talbott handles combat. Other than that, he's definitely quite powerful. He became an Animagus when he was very young, Flitwick called him one of his best students as well.
Diego. Well, Diego is called one of the best duellists of Hogwarts, isn't he? I think he deserves this tier. I just wish we could see how he is in some different areas.
Merula. ALRIGHT. I know that Rakepick actually did mentor her! Then why she's not one tier above, you ask? Because I still believe that Rakepick wouldn't mentor her if it wasn't for R. I insist that the main (if not only) reason why Rakepick showed any interest in Merula is so Merula wouldn't run into R's arms right away.
Barnaby. JC turned him into a one-dimensional idiot, but he was introduced as one of the strongest students of MC's year. I like to think that he'd be a tough opponent.
Ismelda. I don't know, I always saw Ismelda as quite powerful. Like, that spell she used on Barnaby in Y3? I even suspected once that that's why Merula agreed to accept her in her group.
Charlie. I admit I judge mostly based on what we know from the books. I mean, if he becomes a Drogonologist right after school, he has to be good in general.
Chiara. She's apparently a pretty powerful Healer, but I also remember how she was defending students during the Ever-Bashing Boomerangs incident in Y5. She'd be good in the field too, I suppose.
Jae. I mean, he was openly complimented by Rakepick herself in Y5. I believe he has pretty great potential but probably needs practice.
Badeea. Well, she does invent her own spells. Even if they're simple so far, that's impressive.
Penny. I didn't really know what to do with her, to be honest. Like, she's super good with Potions, but... does it make you powerful in general? I don't think she's really inventing or improving potions (except that one time at the beginning of Y5 when Beatrice went missing). And we don't talk much about her combat skills... But in the end, I suppose she can be called "decently powerful".
Tulip. I had a bit of a problem with her as well. I mean, the thing is that we just don't really have a lot of information. However, Tulip is wicked smart, so... there she is.
The whole "Eh?" tier is basically: "Hard to say". Liz was admittedly complimented by Diego and MC for her duelling skills in her SQ, but that's kind of it. I imagine that Victor might've got some power-up after becoming a vampire, but... do we know that? Andre is amazing on a broom, but does it make you powerful? And Corey... Corey is probably the weakest, but it's still more of an impression than observation.
Does R "care" about them?
Merula. Pretty obvious, right?
Ben. I don’t think we’ll ever learn what exactly R was doing with Ben in the previous years, but I imagine he was useful to them somehow - even if he doesn’t remember it (and JC doesn’t remember it either).
Also, I just had an amazing idea: what if all the way back in Y2 when Ben went missing, R actually conditioned him to be obedient to them? The twist is that it has to be activated. So, imagine that Peregrine says a single word, and Ben suddenly turns into a killing machine or something?
Corey. To be fair, I think that Merula kidnapping Corey from all people was mostly a coincidence, but hey. They ended up being pretty useful. I don’t suspect R is using Corey beyond that, but I guess Corey deserves this place on the list nonetheless.
Beatrice. So, I’m still not entirely convinced that Beatrice got trapped by pure coincidence. Beatrice made the Portrait Curse way more personal for MC. On top of that, choosing our friend’s sibling created a potential for inner conflict in MC’s group (and that could be beneficial for R).
I put Penny and Barnaby in a separate tier because I still believe that they could’ve been great moles for R. Penny was really desperate when Beatrice was trapped, and if I recall correctly, she even said at one point that she’d work with anyone to help her sister. I can totally see R using it easily. Barnaby is a character who’s insanely loyal to MC. He literally jumped in front of us to save our life. Again, R could easily use it to blackmail him.
The “They might be useful” tier is basically for the remaining dating options. Personally, I doubt that JC will use it in the main story, but I decided to include it either way. I added Tonks as she’d probably be the best replacement for the players who are not exclusive with any character.
Finally, we have everyone else. To be clear, I’m not saying that R wouldn’t use them to hurt/manipulate MC. I just assume they’re not particularly special to R. Although I guess maybe the Weasley family might be a bit more special, since MC is pretty close to them? Also, I want to point out that I believe both that Tulip and Victor were supposed to have bigger roles in the story, and so maybe they’d be placed higher, but I’m judging based on the current state of the game.

I have just read the datamine I read Peregrine's dialogue and... there isn't a word in the dictionary to describe the feeling of anger, hate, cringe and at the end disappointment, this character makes me feel. So I invented one: Perdium Peregrine + Latin word for hate "odium" I may sound cringe, but at this point, I don't care So anyways My heart was filled with so much perdium that when I read Olivia's dialogue, all I felt was an empty numbness. ...I'll share some of my favourite headcanons of my favourite magical schools to lighten the mood
Mahoutokoro
The school headmaster is a powerful pure-blooded wizard and he's best friends with the squib muggle studies professor. On Sundays, they tinker with some piece of muggle technology they found. By that I mean the muggle study professor, the headmaster's mostly only holding the flashlight.
Patronuses are so very common in Japan. And there is a very special festival tied to them. It has many names but the most common one is "Hikari no danketsu" which roughly translate to "Unity of Light" (yes I have used google translate, sorry if this sounds super weird to japanese speakers).
It celebrates the Great Purging. Many many years ago, Japan was threatened by horrible dark creatures, they destroyed everything in their path and no wizard was able to stop them. Some tried to use their patronuses, but immediately failed.
Until one day, every surviving wizard got together and purged the darkness with their patronuses. It is said that each patronus was fueled by one another and this is how the monsters were defeated, instead of a wizard taking them on individually. Now every year, on the longest winter night. The japanese wizards get together and cast their patronuses as the twilight fades into night Hundreds if not thousands of corporeal patronuses light the night and everyone watches in silence in awe at the simple beauty surrounding them
And that the school's history has been greatly misunderstood by a lot of wizards because of an incompetent history translator.
"No, Albus. We don't put our 7-year-old students on giant storm petrels and then hope that they get home safely."
Mahoutokoro isn't on an island.
Mahoutokoro IS an island
More specifically a floating island, and that's the main building. There are other smaller floating islands that are connected together with bridges.
On the smaller islands there are the classrooms, the dormitories and other different buildings. Some islands tend to be reserved for a certain subject. Like there is an entire island with greenhouses for herbology, one with nothing but transfiguration classes and supplies for those lessons. And then there are some islands with different classes that aren't soo important, like Magical History and Muggle studies for example.
One day, a random Shiba Inu just appeared out of nowhere. The doggo travelled from island to island without a care in the world. The faculty noticed.
They named him Butters.
Another headcanon I like is that Castelobruxo, Mahoutokoro and other schools that have pathetic name translations have a super duper secret name that only a few know.
Uagadou
To get a picture of just how humongous this school is. It has no less than 22 headmasters. (also keep in mind that a lot of African children are homeschooled, so I don't think the amount of headmasters is too little)
Once a full moon they all get together to discuss and take important decisions that affect the entire school.
It is said that when the final full moon of the year rises a secret passage opens in the depths of the school… But that's just a myth…OR IS IT--
The oldest headmaster has a wand made out of petrified acacia wood and it's lined with amber. It's a very pretty wand and the only one of its kind.
He's also an elephant animagus.
there's a whole heck of languages spoken there
the classes are taught in 500+ languages
you can find classes taught in: Swahili Amharic Yoruba Oromo Arabic…
but also in english, french and portuguese
all the registered animagi have a special wristband
and the wristbands are different depending on the animagus form for example:
silver for bird animagi orange for feline animagi blue for aquatic animagi green for herbivores oh
and there is a purple wristband for fantastical animagus forms but very VERY few purple wristbands have been crafted
You know that stone that Uagadou students get an inscribed stone to let them know that they have been admitted into the school? That stone is part of the uniform and it appears on the collar of the uniform.
One of the things Uagadou is most famous for is a very special competition that takes place every year.
It's a race in which the 22 absolute best 9th-year students compete against each other in ABSOLUTELY.EVERY.SINGLE. magical field! From Divination to Transfiguration, Care of Magical Creatures to Magical History and Darks Arts to Defence against the Dark Arts.
Being accepted into this competition is already a very very high achievement. But getting into the top 5…
My god
Durmstrang
This is a fun one.
Nerida Vulchanova (The Durmstrang Founder) had, after the legend's words: "a wicked bird with an all-seeing eye that sung when darkness would arise. Named after the northest of stars, it guided the lost back when he could hear their outcries"
A phoenix to be exact
Polaris
Nerida and Polaris had many adventures together before the school was founded
Which only solidified their bond
And then Nerida founded Durmstrang with all off her knowledge she has gained over the years
Sooo happy ending? Did the witch and her feathery friend get a happy ending?
If you're familiar with Harry Potter lore then you know that the answer is no.
"Durmstrang was founded during the Middle Ages by the great Bulgarian witch Nerida Vulchanova, who served as the first head of the school. She was succeeded after her mysterious death by Professor Harfang Munter, who established Durmstrang's reputation for emphasising martial magic and duelling as an impressive part of its curriculum." -Harry Potter wiki, Durmstrang page
It is heavily implied that Harfang killed Nerida, but how did he do it?
So Nerida hired Harfang as a DADA teacher because he was very skilled in that field.
It is true that Nerida and some other members of the faculty weren't really fond of him. The wizard felt… fake… fake smiles… fake intentions… but Nerida felt that she couldn't just fire a very good DADA professor based on a feeling. Her greatest quality was also her greatest flaw. She always put others first, sometimes at the expense of her well being
But Polaris
Oh, Polaris absolutely HATED that man. I'm telling you that they couldn't coexist in the same room for more than 5 seconds
But now let's get to the juicy part :)
One night, Polaris saw Harfang dragging a student into the forest.
Polaris took after him furiously.
But it was a trap.
"Harfang" was actually one of his men that used a polyjuice potion.
More wizards apparated next to the bird and trapped it with an enchanted net. Polaris tries and tries to break out the net, but it doesn't work. He can't lift the net no matter how hard he beats his wings and he can't apparate. The dark enchantment draws the phoenix's power and finally, the bird drops to the ground, giving up.
Meanwhile, Nerida and Harfang have been duelling. Nerida was cleverer and quicker than him, but Harfang's curses hit harder.
Harfang manages to stun the witch. Taking the opportunity, he pulls out a vial from his cloak and throws it at Nerida. Dark smoke quickly rises from the broken glass and she gives out a horrible scream of agony.
Nerida's scream is heard in the distance.
And this gives our phoenix a final spark of determination and he breaks the net and flies to get to his friend
Polaris goes straight for Harfang but Harfang is quicker and rips out one of Polaris's eyes, this however doesn't stop Polaris and he lunges back at Harfang. Harfang then casts a terrible curse on the phoenix and Polaris turns to ash, but that's not the only thing the curse did Polaris was now destined to never be able to heal properly, no matter how many times he rises...
Harfang then locks him and Nerida's body in a cursed vault, uhmmmmm noooo uhmmmmm
heeeeeee got rid of Polaris, no one knows how
yup that's what happened
and definitely someone never ever freed Polaris in let's say… 1979
nope
that did not happen
i would tell you more about durmstrang
like the Black Chevaliers
Expelled Durmstrang wizards and witches that used dark magic as a force for good
but I do not have time if you wish I'll tell you another time if you enjoy my ramblings Thank you so much if you've made it this far, you're awesome :D
I like the term “Perdium”! Considering how we all (as the fandom) love Peregrine, I think it should become a thing.
And I really enjoyed your headcanons! They’re very interesting and well-thought-out. The festival of Patronuses sounds amazing in particular. And of course you can share more in your free time if you want!
And no, you’re awesome! :)

Oh my. Unused potential. I may have some ideas on how to complete this sentence. Ahem Replaced all of Snape's potion ingredients with sweets and he only noticed after he took them out of the jar to brew potions. Which was in the middle of a school inspection. Made a moustache and put it on the sorting hat in Dumbledore's office. Managed to turn Flitwick's classroom upside down. Transfigured the DADA professor into a pangolin. Fixed a muggle phone and called the Mahoutokoro headmaster (because he's got a phone in his office that he uses to communicate with muggle parents) Had to spend an entire Saturday in detention so we baked a 7 story cake for the house elves because we were bored.
Got detention for an entire Saturday because one of Duncan's inventions backfired and it filled the entire astronomy classroom with chartreuse chewing gum.
Great ideas.
I especially like the moustache one. I don’t know, it just makes me think of those “googly eyes on things” pranks, and I like how delightful yet harmless they are. Also, let’s keep in mind that the Sorting Hat is used once a year, so it’s quite possible that nobody would notice it until September next year. And even if Dumbledore did notice, I suppose he might’ve gone with it.
“What do you mean, Minerva? I think it simply grew a moustache because it’s getting old. Yes, I know it’s like one thousand years old, so technically it’s been old for a while, but you don’t know how Sorting Hats age. No, I don’t know that either, and that’s why I don’t judge!”
And I like the idea of a seven-story cake because the House-Elves deserve it, especially Pitts.

What do you think the relationship between Durmstrand and Mahoutokoro would be? I personally feel that Karkaroff would be a little scared of the headmaster. If the man's favourite spell is Protego Diabolica out of ALL OF THE SPELLS OUT THERE then he must be pretty darn good at it. But imagine that the headmaster might really like that spell because it's really good at roasting marshmallows and it gives them that extra subtle flavour of doom, destruction and fatal conviction. Would be quite the plot twist. So no one from those schools would really get along. Except for some students ofc. And the herbology professors.
They don't care. They send each other seeds, bulbs and have been pen pals for a couple of years now.
I mean… First of all, I’m sorry, but I just can’t take the information about the Mahoutokoro Headmaster and Protego Diabolica seriously or even accept it, really. It’s obviously Jam City being super lazy about making a connection between Jacob’s accident and Mahoutokoro (which basically means the Wizard in White in this game). Like, it doesn’t even make sense. Protego Diabolica is a defensive spell at the end of the day and its use is VERY specific. How often the Headmaster needed to use it to separate himself from people whose loyalty was questionable? Once? Twice? And it became his favourite? Right… Seriously, most people would have no use of Protego Diabolica. It’s better to spend time mastering Fiendfyre as it’s meant to simply destroy, therefore: it’s more useful.
Unless Protego Diabolica is REALLY good for roasting marshmallows...
But even that aside, I don’t think the spell is particularly relevant here, not per se. What is more important is that the Mahoutokoro Headmaster was able to master a very powerful charm, implying that he’s quite powerful in general. Admittedly, it doesn’t have to be the case. Obliviate is a rather difficult spell as well, but Lockhart mastered it perfectly. Does it mean he was a powerful wizard? Well… But I’m digressing. Let’s assume that the Mahoutokoro Headmaster is indeed quite powerful. Then, I agree that Karkaroff would be pretty scared of him as Karkaroff never seemed to be very powerful, in my opinion. And if I remember correctly, he was a bit cowardly.
Now, when we consider the other side of this relationship, the Mahoutokoro Headmaster would probably dislike Karkaroff for being a former Death Eater. Heck, he’d think it’s disgraceful that Karkaroff is a headmaster at all.
Also, the herbology professors sound lovely. Good for them.

I know, right?
No, but seriously, I think it really is a problem of HPHM. And I suppose it might be at least a part of the reason why I personally find it harder and harder to feel excited about the story. I mean, poor writing decisions are definitely a bigger issue, but when you wait two or three weeks for a continuation, it’s just… eh. It kind of destroys the suspense, you know what I mean?
Even when we take Peregrine’s stupid reveal. Let’s assume for the sake of this discussion that it wasn’t totally disappointing story-wise and that it was actually a clever plot twist. Still, it happened on June 9th. The next chapter was released on June 30th. And like… it just doesn’t work.
To be clear, I wouldn’t mind getting one chapter per month, honestly. But it’d have to be a quality chapter. What we’re getting recently is really not good quality, I’m sorry. Also, I feel like many chapters nowadays follow more or less the same formula:
summarising what happened in the previous chapter (because, apparently, even the writers assume that the players don’t remember after 2 or 3 weeks) -> a filler -> something that could move the plot forward but it doesn’t because MC is stupid -> a build-up for the next chapter
So yeah…
But this week, we should get the main chapter. Right…?

Just for fun. How about a character tier of R and former R members?
Duncan Olivia Real!Jacob The fugly slut that's pretending to be our brother Shiratori Rakepick Burke Pettigrew Verruca Merula Peregrine
(do tell me if I forgot about someone)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is mine. HBU?
I absolutely love that the top tier is just “Rakepick” 💖
Also, I couldn’t resist the urge to separate it into two lists as I didn’t know how to approach the “Pawn” tier. See, the thing is that I don’t think it’s necessarily connected to being powerful… Therefore, I decided on “How powerful they are?” and “How important they are for R?”.
Oh, and I added Zenith Xeep. I believe she was involved with R only for that one thing with the Memory Potion (and probably didn’t even know much about what’s going on), but still.
“How powerful they are?”
Tumblr media
“How important they are for R?”
Tumblr media
Some commentary under the cut.
I actually believe that Verucca is pretty damn powerful, and I do think that she's pretty much equal with Rakepick and Peregrine. I even wouldn't be surprised if Peregrine is above her not because he's more powerful, but because he is The Father of the siblings.
Reall!Jacob has to be pretty powerful as well, and I'm thinking here mostly about the scene where Rakepick told MC in the fourth year: "You remind me of myself. I have only said that to one person before...". That one person was probably Jacob (full analysis in this post). And come on, if Rakepick compares anyone to herself, they must be quite impressive.
I also put Shiratori higher in the ranking. Jam City did him pretty dirty later on, and currently, I don't think he's that powerful (even if he's apparently a powerful Legilimens). But I remembered when he escaped in Y6. Moody told us then that he defeated his best Aurors, so... I have to acknowledge that he was meant to be way more powerful.
I can agree on Olivia but I think that Duncan was pretty good, too. For example, Bilton told us that he used to reconstruct his products entirely. I mean, you need some decent level of magical prowess for that.
Surprisingly, I do believe that Fugly Slut is decently powerful, simply because I doubt that R would send someone weak for such an important mission. On top of that, I still think there's a small chance that he's actually Verucca, so...
As for Merula... I might not like her, and I do think that she's terribly written, but... she's not weak. It's mostly her personality that stops her from being really powerful.
Pettigrew is a disgusting human being, but again, he is pretty powerful. He did become an Animagus, he killed 12 Muggles with one non-verbal, he outsmarted the whole wizarding world, and he played a rather big part in bringing back Voldemort himself.
Burke... I mean, he can't be totally weak if he worked as a Healer for so many years, right? Also, he kind of kicked Moody's ass... But I don't know. I'd say he's alright overall, maybe just not very experienced in combat.
Finally, I'm afraid that she was rather weak even before her accident. I mean, she was an opera diva for her whole life. In the best-case scenario, she was extremely out of practice.
Now, I put Rakepick in the "Crucial for their existence" tier simply because of how obsessed R is with her. Like, it's still not known when they started sending her threats to stay away from the Cursed Vaults, the Red Cloak talked about her again. Seriously, it's not healthy.
*insert the image of Patty as Regina George with the caption: "Why are you so obsessed with me?"*
Real!Jacob and his importance are rather obvious.
Verucca mentioned once that they had high hopes for Shiratori because of his lineage, so I assume he had to be pretty important, even if he became redundant. Plus, we have his Legilimency. Silimar argument actually applies to Fugly Slut. I assume that he was chosen for this task for some reason. His skills, perhaps? I mean, I still think it'd make the most sense if he was a Metamorphmagus as the Polyjuice Potion can be pretty risky.
In the "Pawn" tier, I put basically anyone who might be useful somehow, but if something happens to them, it's not a big loss. They're not necessarily entirely equal, but... yeah.
Finally, we have Pettigrew because I still refuse to accept his existence in this story. I'd like to know what kind of drugs you have to take to decide it's a good idea.

JC writer: Should we look over the last chapters to make sure we don't mess up anything? To not forget an essential parts of the story and to not leave any plotholes? JC writer 2: Nah, we should make an "🥺👉👈" animation for Beatrice.
Person A at JC: Hm, I’m not sure if this scene is cringey enough…
Person B at JC: Hold my beer!
To be fair though, I feel like the second person wasn’t a writer. I suspect it was an animator who wanted to show off or something. But you're definitely on to something!

(originally, I was gonna screenshot some Wikipedia articles but Tumblr killed the quality so I'm just gonna copy-paste paragraphs, I'll still link the articles https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeotian_muses https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mneme https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aoede_(mythology) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melete https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arche_(mythology) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thelxino%C3%AB ) https://at.tumblr.com/missnight0wl/really-sorry-that-im-bothering-you-still-no/upp56bmc1w2m Hmmmm... "In Greek mythology, Mneme was one of the three original Boeotian muses, along with her sisters Aoede and Melete before Arche and Thelxinoë were identified, increasing the number to five"
Hmmmm... You know what else there is 3 of? Cursed students that were used by R before us and that had terrible fates. HYPOTHETICALLY what if those 3 muses are supposed to represent Duncan, Olivia and Jacob. And those 3 muses each have an artefact that will have to be linked with our trio somehow! So ofc Olivia=Mneme=crown because memory! But what about the other 2? "In Greek mythology, Melete was one of the three original Boeotian muses before the Nine Olympian Muses were founded. Her sisters were Aoede and Mneme. She was the muse of thought and meditation. Melete literally means "ponder" and "contemplation" in Greek."
I am linking Melete with Duncan because I can see Duncan sitting alone in the prefect bathroom at night wondering why Jacob did what he did. Why he abandoned him and let R slip away by taking the blame "In Greek mythology, Aoede was one of the three original Boeotian muses, which later grew to five before the Nine Olympian Muses were named. Her sisters were Melete and Mneme. She was the muse of voice and song."
And then we have Aoede! I see her being similar to Jacob because Jacob was desperately trying to tell Dumbledore and the teachers or ANYONE who would listen about the cursed vault and the danger. He also caused the most commotion when it came to the vaults. So Jacob gets the muse of voice! Also Melete and Mneme both start with M and Aoede starts with an A. Jacob is more of a main character than Duncan and Olivia and it's cool that his muse starts with a different letter but maybe that's completely unrelated But I'm not done yet. There are 2 more muses! Archē and Thelxinoë.
"Archē in ancient Greek religion was the muse of origins and beginnings." "This was not the first time that a student looked for the vaults. The last student to have tried was a Gryffindor named Patricia Rakepick, but her claims were dismissed due to a lack of evidence." -Harry potter wiki, Jacob's page, Hogwarts years (1974–1980) Patricia=muse So true.
Also Archē and Aoede both start with A just sayin
"In Greek mythology, Thelxinoë (English translation: "mind charming") was a name attributed to three individuals.
Thelxinoë, one of the sirens. Also known as Thelxiope or Thelxiepia.
Thelxinoë, one of the four later recognized muses in Greek tradition. Her sisters Aoede, Arche and Melete and they were regarded as daughters of Zeus by Plusia. She was linked with the charming of the mind as a Muse. The moon of Jupiter Thelxinoe is named after her.
Thelxinoë, one of Semele's attendants.
Thelxinoëa, also Thelxionoea or Thelxineia, one of the so-called Praxidicae (the other two were Alacomenia and Aulis), daughters of King Ogyges of Boeotia."
...If someone came up to me and told me that I would be comparing Peregrine to a muse earlier today, I would've shipped that someone to the local mental hospital. Sigh.
ONE LAST THING You know what ELSE we have 3 off that aren't the original Boeotian muses?
3 jewellery items that don't have a meaning yet and haven't been expanded upon!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here I would suggest that these pieces of jewellery are required to open some sort of vault or puzzle and you need all 3 and they are scattered around the globe. Like the amulet being in Japan The crown in Greece And the necklace (maybe in Britain but it's very possible that it's from somewhere else) But the more I think about it, the more bitter I become because JC will NEVER do this. They would never explore the other countries that these objects originate from in meaningful ways. JC will never give us the plot twist of this command here "PereginePetrificusTotalusOnStudent01_CrownOfMneme" actually being a student from a different school! Greek wizarding school?? YASSS.
And I don't blame JC. I know they can't really do it even if they wanted to. I am just upset because the POTENTIAL--
Anyways, here's a meme to lighten the mood

Sorry for the late reply!
First of all, I’m not gonna disprove anything. This is actually a very interesting observation! And I think that logic doesn’t have much to do with anything here. We know so little about this story that a lot is a matter of interpretation.
In general, I really like the comparison to the Forgotten Trio. However… I’d personally switch Jacob and Duncan. Like, I think we can all agree that Olivia is pretty obvious. But here’s what I’m thinking about the boys.
While I see where you’re coming from with your reasoning, I’m not quite sure if Jacob was this vocal about the Cursed Vaults. In fact, I feel like you might be mixing him up with Rakepick. Because she was the one who indeed said:

But I don’t recall anything like that about Jacob. He might’ve been way more secretive. For example, he wrote in one of his notebooks:

There’s also that one quote by Madam Rosmerta (Y3) that always comes to my mind when I think of the original Jacob:
Tumblr media
In my opinion, Jacob fits pretty well as “the muse of thought and meditation”.
What about Duncan then? Well, I admit it’s gonna be a bigger reach. And I don’t want to say that Duncan is a bard singing a song about Jacob, but… he kind of is. Notice that a lot of what we know about Jacob, his relationship with Duncan and R comes from Duncan himself. I know that Jam City neglected his role terribly later on, but when we met him in Y5? That was really something! So yeah, I’d say that Duncan is “the muse of voice and song”.
By the way, if you look at it that way, it even makes sense why JC reduced Duncan’s role. I mean, doesn’t it sound possible that they made this decision because otherwise, Duncan would have to tell us eventually more about what happened? He'd have to sing his song?
Rakepick and Peregrine are assigned surprisingly well, seriously. So, I don’t have much to add.
And I really like the idea of three objects! Also, in this place, I want to mention the comment by @indigobackfire who suggested that perhaps the Crown of Mneme is necessary to properly break the curse on the Sunken Vault. You know, since it was all about reliving your worst memories and whatnot.
Tumblr media
Of course, it’d mean that we have to go back to this Vault. Could it still be connected to other pieces of jewellery, though? Maybe… Because when I read that the number of Boeotian muses was increased to FIVE, I immediately thought: “Hey, there are five Cursed Vaults!”. So… perhaps there were only three Cursed Vaults originally? Or there are two more objects we don’t know about? There might be some connection here too.
Either way, while I agree with you that JC probably won’t do much about all of that, at least in terms of different schools, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if it was a part of the original story. Because that Japanese plotline had to come from somewhere. So, who knows if there wasn’t more? Hell, maybe even Castelobruxo was supposed to be more meaningful?

Well, we now know that it could've ended a lot worse for our DADA professor. On that note, what do you think will happen to Olivia in the end game?
I feel like Peregrine's gonna kill her. Unless Peregrine sacrifices himself for MC and Jacob and does a last-minute noble act or something... Ugh.
Y'know, I actually wonder now if Olivia ever dealt with a dragon... And by that I mean: was Olivia in the Portrait Vault? Was she there with Jacob and Rakepick? Sure, Rakepick didn't mention her, but her story didn't make much sense either way, so I still assume she was lying. Jacob can't be trusted, and Olivia's memory was modified, so... I guess it's not impossible?
BUT ANYWAY...
Well, technically, we could have both scenarios with Peregrine. Admittedly, it’d be a bit harder to redeem him after murdering Olivia, but… it’ is an option. And I feel that JC will want to redeem Peregrine, unfortunately. In fact, his sacrifice seems very probable, in my opinion. I hate it as much as you do, but I think I’m being realistic here. Besides, you know how everyone compares the situation with Peregrine to Star Wars? Well, how did Darth Vader die? Yep, saving Luke. So… I will actually be surprised if JC is planning something else.
(Please, surprise me tho… 🥺)
That being said, I somehow don’t feel that Olivia will die. I can see Peregrine messing with her memory again, maybe she’d get physically injured at some point… But I think she’ll survive. I mean, it’d just be not a very good arc otherwise because if R/Peregrine wanted to kill her, why wouldn’t they do it all those years ago? I realise that we’re talking about JC, so it’s not a super solid argument… but still. Alternatively, her death might be more of an accident. But I don’t know, I just have a gut feeling that she’ll be mostly fine.
Although I have to point out… If the real Jacob is actually dead (and we’re dealing with an imposter all that time)… then Olivia’s death would be pretty epic. Don’t get me wrong, it’d be absolutely tragic as well. But do you feel that Poetic Cinema of the Original/Forgotten Trio dying at different points of time, all three of them because of R? Damn… It almost sounds too good to be true.
