We’re at the police station, and we all sit on super uncomfortable cots.

Addi and I got our clothes and coats back, so we aren’t shivering that much anymore.

“I’m sorry Addi, I shouldn’t have asked that, it was insensitive of me,“ I don’t have to turn my head too much, since she sits right next to me.

Jenny and Sofia took the cot opposite us.

“Yeah, it was insensitive, but you don’t have to be sorry Emma. It’s just a long story,“ Addi bites her lip and sighs.

“Look around we’re in a jail cell, who knows when we’ll get bailed out. It’s not like we have something better to do,“ Sofia lets out a huff of air, and crosses her arms over chest.

Addi shrugs and seems to be uncomfortable by the turn the conversation took.

I give her a side hug

“You can share as much or as little as you want, whatever makes you feel comfortable. Just know you can always turn to us,“ I squeeze her tight, she smiles gratefully at all of us.

“Yeah we can…“ Jenny starts saying, when Sofia, Addi and I say “No,“ at the same time.

“Party poopers,“ Jenny crosses her arms over her chest and continues

“I was going to say, before I was rudely interrupted, we can all have a slumber party,“ she says.

Sofia looks with disdain at Jenny and says

“I won’t braid your hair, have a pillow fight or giggle like a school girl,“ she says with a finality to her tone.

“Have you never been to a slumber party before?“ Jenny looks at her with sympathy in her eyes.

“I won’t dignify that with an answer,“ Sofia scolds

“Meaning no,“ Jenny purses her lips together.

“If you must know, my dad was very strict. I didn’t really have slumber parties or things like that,“ Sofia crosses one leg over the other.

“I’m sorry to hear that, but look on the bright side, now you can throw one of your own,“ Jenny pats Sofias knee.

Sofia’s sullen expression crumbles into a soft smile.

“How about matching tattoos to commemorate this moment?“ I ask around into the silence.

“Absolutely not,“ Sofia says.

However, Addi and Jenny are totally for it, so Jenny nudges Sofia with her shoulder and

”Come on Sof.“

“If you stop calling me Sof I’m in,“ she says.

“Yay. Did you guys hear? Sofi is in,“ Jenny squeaks and hugs her, while Sofia pats her small back softly, a smile tucking at the corners of her lips, she untangles Jenny’s arms from her.

“Alright enough with the hugging,“ and leans back against the wall of the cell.

Sets of footsteps has us all looking up towards the cell door.

Officer Kane opens the door and it swings wide open to reveal two familiar faces. Sam and Robin. Robin appears to be holding back a grin, or at least trying to. Sam‘s face is set in a serious grimace. How brow furrowed. Though a corner of his mouth lifts.

I wonder who called Robin.

As if she can sense my thought Addi raises her voice.

“Well, we all had one phone call, so I used mine to call Robin,“ she says while pulling her coat tighter around herself.

We all just stare at her.

“I can smell the tea from a mile away,“ Jenny snickers loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Not now Jenny,“ I whisper loudly.

“Just saying,“ she murmurs.

Sam and Robin get out of the way, as we all get up and walk outside. It feels like a walk of shame.

Sam eyes me and I can tell from his gaze that we’ll address this later when we’re home.

Officer Kane directs his questions at Sam.

“What are the charges, Officer?“ Sam asks slowly as if he’s trying with everything he’s got to be patient.

Officer Kane takes a clipboard and clears his throat before he reads the charges out loud.

“Well let’s see. Jaywalking. Holding up traffic. Public indecency. Lying to a Police Officer. Trying to bribe an Officer with a lap dance, should I go on Mr. Dalton?“ he looks up at Sam, who just shakes his head.

“No, that’s quite enough Officer,“ Sam says and sighs.

Robin snickers next to him, but turns it into a cough when Sam glances his way.

“Sorry, soar throat,“ Robin explains pointing to said throat.

Yeah right. No one believes that for a second.

“Will this go on their permanent record?“ Robin asks after recovering from his laughing, er I mean coughing.

Officer Kane shakes his head

“Not this time Mr. Flores, we’ll let them off with a warning. Should this repeat it’ll go on the permanent record, depending on how severe the charges are,“ Officer Kane says and puts away the clipboard.

He reaches for a piece of paper, that he hands to Sam to sign, he puts his signature underneath with a flourish, and hands it back to Officer Kane.

“You’re free to go ladies,“ he says to all of us. Holding back a smile Officer Kane gives Jenny a lingering look. She winks at him and walks out the door.

“Let’s go,“ Sam says. Together we all walk outside into the cold winter air.

As I look above I see the stars twinkling in the night sky.

Aaaand I'm late 💀 I am so sorry for that gaaaah but I do not want the week to end without me joining @choicesfandomappreciation's Choices Spread Kindness Celebration, especially since the first day celebrated fandom love!
