It's funny to me the idea of having liked vs hated ships (vs indifferent ships). To be honest I don't have a hated ship list? I'll read ANYTHING with any ship. Any permutation and combination. Like, N/J is my ride or die ship (otp just feels dated these days). I'm just very much 'okay you have this ship. Now convince me of it'. I have encountered the most tame to the most wild out there ships in my fandom career (tm) and the most fun ones to me are the ones that go 100% balls to the wall in convincing me that these characters should be involved with each other in whatever that means. Compel me, make me love your take and your pair (or poly or whatever). Seeing ships in this way I've found fun gems that challenge the context of the very thing I'm a fan of and it's a wonderful feeling.

Thinking about how 'ship' means to people these days 'you want your fav pair to have a family and retire', and then me out of spite, amusement, and pure joy wrote a fic with just that as a plot - then subverting it to immense upsetting surreal horror.

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 49 on my TheTentacleCommander main 2 on SerpentineAndWet 1 on SoftTentacledJazz (which I will get back to!) and 1 on Waymaiden Jelecia (shelved for now) so in total: 53

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?  471,114 in total spanning all accounts the huge bulk being under TTC.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Resident Evil. I'm very much a ride or die writer when it comes to fandom longevity lol

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Electronic Brawling (the Nem/Reader fic I wrote over a weekend, 322) Tentacles Are -Not- Toys (Until They Are) (the Nem/Jill I wrote over a weekend, 288) To Teach a (b)oy (the femdom Jill/Nem fic I wrote cause I wanted to just be as kinky as possible about it, 138) Need. Excite. Take. (a morning warm up I did for a Tyrantfucker chat, 130) Teaching the Devil (my 'serious' drabble that turned into a longfic/1st part of a myth arc around Nem/Jill and all the whatifs that could happen, 105) *yes, I'm aware the smut is what sells lol*

5. Do you respond to comments? Yes! I love receiving them and answer, especially in depth ones.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Ah, ha haha this one's tough. My main ship (Nemesis/Jill) is in my hands intentionally angsty so many do end on that note. If I had to chose it'd be a tie between After The Fall - Where Nemesis *really* struggles between caring for her and wanting to hurt the absolute fuck out of her. Necromancy - It's hard surreal/dreamy on purpose (also a fic staple of mine) that ends with Nemesis having done all he has to make Jill 'happy' is so deeply unhappy with himself in the end - but still continues to perpetuate the lotus eater world he's crafted for them.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?  Where the wild things... - a really hard surreal dream fic of where Nemmy's head was at halfway through the 3rd arc. He has such an idealized, near childlike hope which is big for a generally angry and resentful creature. He clearly wants the world with Jill, where the chase benefits them both but a lot of the edges - like her own traumas - are shaved off. It's telling his dream was inspired by a children's book about dealing with anger, fear and finding/seeking comfort. But it's happy in the sense he gets that comfort he wanted so badly throughout his creation, and that when he awakens, it's with him now determined to reunite with her and their offspring. (con't after the cut)

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really? When I was on ff.net I got snippy comments (I was a young babby then) but looking back it was just what we'd call today fanpol wanking to wank. These days I assume ppl are aware what I'm about so if I were to garner hate, I'd just laugh and write Nemmy fucking Jill even harder in unfortunate places. I can always go darker, kids.

9. Do you write smut? *stares at the camera deeply* Yesss? All the smut? They tend to range from soft heartwarming lovemaking, to conflicted should we be doing this, to rapey horrors, just weird monstery shit and then the kink. Just kinky shit all over the place. Very character study leaning.

10. Do you write crossovers?  Nah. I already have a lot in my head just handling one franchise!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?  Not to my knowledge but with the way I write it's gunna be a pretty fun time in pulling off imitating my voice as I sound high on my own fumes about a decidedly rare pair no one seems to wanna admit liking rofl That and all the formatting hell

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?  Yea! In Russian.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?  Nah, I'm too much of a prima donna to share billing /jk I just don't like collabing unless it's for an rp but I'm also never say never about such things!

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? *stares even harder at the camera* I...I'm the longest running one trick pony about having a parasitized Tyrant try to not murder with prejudice the most well trained person on the RE cast I make no secret about this :3 Also let me note my other most liked ships I have written on: Weskertine, Creva, and the Ada and Carlos tour. Valenfield ig (I do truly like em but they aren't as exciting to write for in comparison but I indeed do write them sometimes). Note these are for canons, I have loads more favs but they are ocs.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I have like 15+ wips in my drafts. I don't wanna pick one cause it's just painful to look at them begging to be finished. The ones on my account I have every intent to finish. Mostly because they are related to the AU and it wouldn't make sense if I didn't finish them.

16. What are your writing strengths? The sex lol (and being weird with it). I've been told my imagery and word play in general is stellar.  

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I feel my dialogue could be better and it's where I struggle (unless it's my muses Nem, Jill, Trent and Zeus as they are the ones I've written for the most in fic/rps) so I always try to improve on that always.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Don't wanna. I tried, hated not knowing if the language was correct (looking at you, Carlos) so just did ye old << >> to imply he's not speaking English.

19. First fandom you wrote for?  Resident Evil. I am nothing if not persistent. (like my first fic was like in 2005-6? I think?)

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?  Again another tie but it's a 3 way *eyebrow wiggle*! A Slumber Recalled, A Devil Held - this was my 'can I do something soft but pained at the same time' fic. It's a revisit of the time they finally after 20+ chapters did the do, and it's from her pov instead. A lot of re contextualizing and 'wow both of these people have baggage and are doing this not out of love but to feel heard and it *hurts*'. Proved to myself that I can write something hard hitting without a single cry of physical pain. St. Valentine - where what was to be a simple Valentine's Day fic became a fun sacrilegious love poem from a very not at all obsessive Tyrant and then had an added chapter of the reverse side of Jill sounding mentally not all there almost fragmented in her feelings towards what this was between them. So much enjoyable word play was had. Necromancy - discussed above but has my brand of word play, leaning on the fourth wall/formatting/surreal and increasing uncomfortable.

Nothing like going through old fics and recategorizing them into more clearer series* folders and doing the oft dreaded 'tag prune'. Interesting Fic Traction Notes I'm not a stat/views whore but I do look at them in fascination. I swore I read somewhere that long fics don't get the most hits and that Ao3 tends to skews towards short fics and porn but in looking at my stats the highest engagement (hits/favs/comments/subs/bookmarks) is mainly on longfics (fics longer than 2 chapters and over imo is a longfic). In order it goes: -2 chapter smut (that reader fic of all things, odd.) -longfic smut fics -a one shot smut fic -longfic that isn't smut centered (makes sense cause of the amount of years it has been up) -more smut one shots -a smut compilation -longfics that aren't smut centered -that one canon compliant one -brutal violent sex fics (the rapey and or heavily murderkinky ones) -then one shots that are just dreamy weird plot heavy -newer canon compliant or not as smutty stuff at the bottom (or new stuff less than a few months old in general) Sorting by views/hits renders mostly the same result (and hits, like okay that's a lot to me even including my rereads to edit and read my own stuff and before I was cross posting to here).

So in one way, yeah 'smut sells' proves true, but the length doesn't. If anything my short fics tend to get passed over faster especially anything sub 1,000 words (in context my largest longfic smut fic is over 35k words). My highest engaged fics tend to with a lone 2k exception, cap out around 7-8k words. Also, only straight forward pwp or little plot are like this as too much emotional/plot investment ranks way lower. Well, the murderkinky violent ones rank lower too, intentionally as I know what I wrote - but also brings in a certain niche of reader so there's that. I can't even go by comment threads as sure, the top three are longfics understandably, but then it evens out to a similar range across the board no matter the length. Usually due to regular commenters (I <3 u guys!). Oddly, I find my human focused/human shippy ones aren't as well viewed but I also think it's a combo of my set niche of 'monsterfucker', doing exclusively rare pairs and being 'that asshole that writes N/J all the time' together so it could be simply not writing as expected of my account. Though getting engagement on those is pretty cool because of these 'hurdles', not in spite of them! I enjoy being convincing outside of my wheelhouse, too. So what I get from all this is the Ao3 adage of 'what is more likely to be engaged with' is on crack and just not reliable, at least in my case. Pretty on brand for me really (with the self-awareness I am niche in general). I both prove the adage both true and false oddly. Resi to note is not a huge fandom just vocal (we don't even rank in the larger Ao3 fandom poles) so that could be what's causing the skew? I also I see what you folks cheer for overall (readers, pwp and hyper erotic murder/violence in that order). I also think that one reader fic* I think hit the DBD crowd unintentionally - I've never played lol. Also to note, I see those bookmarks. The sheer amount of private ones for an account that is hard to miss in larger Resi tag and almost always in that specific rare ship tag is so high and it's hilarious and amazing to me. The thing about people who hide their porn habits through bookmarks is *very* true - I hope y'all were well fed! I cackle every time cause christ on a cracker the sheer amount of them solely on the porn, I see you /wink *Though I might...do that male!reader/Nem fic I've been saying that for like 2+ years now at some point because I like balance since I've already done female and gender neutral readers.

My Stance on 'Signal Boosting' Requests and General Topics Not Fannish

I was avoiding this but I guess I'ma haveta say it now. I'm not even remotely a big blog nor want to be one but okay. This is a Fandom Blog. This blog is about my fannish activities and is to promote my fanfics and maybe make some new friends (and chat with old) along the way. It's literally in my header. I aside from that will post writing wank and some kinky and queer stuff because to me those other three topics have close crossover in how I express fandom. In the end of the day I Post What I Want On Here. No amount of begging or otherwise will change that. I will not post things that detract from that like war posting, the genocide in Palestine, no begging for money posts, no callouts or any else of the sort. I find all at best performative slactivism that preach to the choir (and tend to never be of people putting their boots to the ground off the internet), tend to be emotionally manipulative, are just fuckin' scams (yes, that dono post with an unverified random attached is very likely a scam), or worse are meant to take down people cause another doesn't like them. All worthless to me. I do my activism in real life with actual humans face to face elsewhere with the desire to cause active tangible change. But this blog is not about that. While I'm here - Fandom is not activism, guys. I'm here to have fun despite the outside world sucking and will not have that sliver of happiness taken away by people desperate to look good to the crowd instead of being real ass people. I especially Will Not repost something from a blog that followed me within minutes of their repost request and did not engage with me ever prior. That's just scummy. Do not do this. opened Scrivener with the intent of working on my many MANY WIPS ends up writing almost a full ass new fic in one sitting centered around Jill's faith and suffering like a Jesus expy with trademark blasphemy (I truly just like the trope and it works in context /shrugs) am so mad that I never thought about this sooner (not my fault Cap decided to hint at it with re3make and that necklace years later - it wasn't depicted in og - just adds to my 'she was religious at some point' hc as was typical for the 90s she just probably just wavered between cafeteria/culturally religious and considering the horrors the cast have faced I can see faith being one of the many things to get challenged) am happy about the bloody fall part (it had to have been brutal) and now I have yet another WIP to polish now it be like that with me when I write (also the idea of Devil!Nemmy is fascinating like he'd look good w horns >:) )

I Love Resi Villians and How Batshit They Are

I love Resi's villians. I love seeing/reading about how menacing, how wrong, how beyond the pale their actions are. I love when it while entrenched in silly camp each villain tends to be a nod to a real world expy/ideology. I like going 'how bad will this person will go/mutate' and later going 'no they didn't...shit what the fuck is *that*!'. Resi villians doing horrible shit with a ridiculous smile and a wink and a nod are *my jam*. And sometimes seeing them wield all that naked power is fascinating. Hell, even hot. The fucked upness is a feature, not a bug. I also know that despite it all, they are all part of the prepackaged corporate-made entertainment that Capcom put out for enjoyment (oh no bioterror, big pharma, corruption, government/war is baddd no shit lol this ain't new messaging, this is not revolutionary). Resi is not a smart series. But it's fun and the villains are hilariously adorably awful. Can't wait to see what new awful brand of smarmy evil the series puts out in the future. Also my top favs: Nemesis - clearly, I've spend too many years wanking (about) him Nikolai Zinoviev - the only one who did not inject shit into himself and walked away assumingly rich Wesker - c'mon he may suck as a person but the sheer amount of bullshit he pulled out of his ass is legendary like he is a walking ubermensch turned 'we doing it live!' meme Alex Wesker and Alexia Ashford - are tied in rankings but I couldn't choose between Alex literally succeeding in her plan quoting pretentious Kafka all day, and Alexia literally pulling Queen shit and bitch slapping Wesker Excella Gionne - corpo/nepo assholery will never not be fun to watch and her voice teetering on 'are you on xanax and wine or sumthin'?' will never get old
