Anytime I think about Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel, I always get kind of breathless at just how poetic and ironic their careers have been.

They’ve always been kind of pitted against each other, a rivalry made out of nothing. Their careers are intertwined with one another. Hell, the whole narrative for Jack was always ‘how does it feel to be second place to Connor McDavid.’

That Connor’s always been the more successful one, and yet Jack was able to make it to greener pastures and win a cup, before McDavid. The guy who went second overall winning a cup before the Golden boy of Canada and the guy who went first overall.

Jack was able to get out of Buffalo, while Connor is still stuck in Edmonton, and is probably going to be stuck there for the rest of his career.

They both have something the other wants. And isn’t that just so ironic? These two players, who have always been pitted against one another, who seemed like polar opposites, and have polar opposite careers as of late, seem so similar? Like they’re one and the same? Isn’t that just funny?

first one is for Snowfall

She’s barely able to catch her breath as she spots the doors closing. She jumps back onto her feet and turns her body sideways to slip through.

Sól stumbles on her last steps but makes it out of the train just in time.

The man walks up to the closed door. Calmly, as if he didn’t just try to kill her. Then, he takes his helmet off, revealing his identity to her.

A cold shiver shoots down her spine, and Sól’s heart drops into her stomach.

Not gone. Not dead. But standing right in front of her.

second one is for Outer Rim

His hand hovers over her skin, hesitating to touch her. When his eyes meet hers in a silent question of permission, Jaye nods.

Even though prepared, the skin to skin contact startles her a little. During all this time she spent in Eden, she forgot how soft touch can be.

Dex’ fingertips ghost over the lines of her tattoo. Judging by the corner of his mouth quirking up slightly, he must like the motive she chose. The Viper. Not quite as impressive as ‘King Cobra’ or ‘Death Adder’ but the danger’s all the same.

Tingles shoot through her body when his hand moves from her hip over her upper leg, softly caressing the skin. Her face grows hot as she follows his movement.

“You’re something special”, he says quietly.

Jaye looks up at him, not quite understanding the insinuation. However, Dex’ view stays focused on what he’s exploring.

Even in the darkness, she spots something she never expected from him; nervousness. He hesitates, then swallows before continuing.

“You and the others.”

Cooling down now and I’m very happy to say I had a very good birthday ^_^ I lowkey get worried about it because I always joke that my birthday is cursed because something almost always goes wrong or I just have a shitty day but today the curse is broken!!!! I get weird about it for that reason and also because euhg I hate attention and I usually don’t tell many people. Soup didn’t know till today but still drew me something and it was so sweet I think my heart melted ^_^ Frankie pre ordered me the makeship mothiva plush MONTHS and months ago (she has the zasp one to match!) and it was supposed to come a little AFTER my birthday and she said it was a really really early birthday gift .. I can’t believe it got delivered exactly on my birthday ??? That’s so crazy!!! I got a check which is always nice and I finally got a ipad for drawing woo !!! I’ve been wanting one forever since drawing on my phone is 1. Not fun 2. Very bad for my wrists so this will fix those two problems I just need to get used to it ^_^ also now I can play roblox on it with my sister YIPPEE! Got to sleep in and had a yummy dinner I DIDNT GET TO PLAY ROR2 AND FORT WITH MY BESTIE FRIEND cos we had to leave so early for dinnar :( but she said we could play tomorrow so it’s ok … some stuff I ordered should ALSO come tomorrow … yippee!!!

went to the local art museum where they had an exhibit about monuments and there was an audience participation area (catnip for the likes of me) where they invited you to sketch out a monument you would make, and where you would put it, and then hang that sketch on the wall. here are some of my favorites
