Last days to enjoy this huge patch of greenery and decades old trees along Kallang. Quite a number of showhouses have been built on fields that used to house herons, egrets, bitterns and all kinds of birds. The green patches and these trees will soon be the made-over Kampong Bugis district. In the next decade, the precinct will be redeveloped into a car-lite, waterfront district with about 4,000 new private residential units. What architecture do you admire where do you live? I’ve always appreciated the architecture of the #nationalmuseumsingapore - it’s a mix of Neo-Palladian and Renaissance styles. While it was originally built in 1849 (It’s older than the country!) it was redeveloped with its gorgeous glass rotunda in 2004. Definitely stop and admire the details in the main rotunda as well as the newer wing. It’s also a relatively quieter museum with a mix of interactive installations for kids to historical exhibits exploring Singapore’s history.
