Borth-y-Gest is a small, quiet harbour just outside Porthmadog. The village boasts a historical significance as a site where ships were constructed before the establishment of Porthmadog. Noteworthy are the "pilot houses," positioned at the harbour's entrance, where pilots would keep watch for ships in need of their assistance. Prior to the development of Porthmadog, Borth-y-Gest served as the starting point for a significant crossing over the wide and perilous Glaslyn estuary. Local residents earned their livelihood by guiding travellers across the hazardous sands of Traeth Mawr, leading to Harlech. Nature enthusiasts can explore Parc y Borth, a local nature reserve nestled in deciduous woodland dominated by ancient Welsh oaks. The reserve is home to various wildlife, including green woodpeckers, tawny owls, and pied flycatchers, making it a delightful destination for birdwatching. On the shoreline lies another nature reserve, Pen y Banc, featuring a blend of coastal rocks, secluded sandy coves, and mixed woodland. Established in 1996, this reserve is an excellent spot for observing wading birds. The mild climate contributes to a diverse range of vegetation, from gorse and heather to blackthorn, crab apple, and birch, creating a welcoming environment that attracts many visitors to its beaches.

(Not mine, credit goes to them), In my humble opinion, I think Universal Oswald is an undergem. Cuter, and, charm, more kiddish. Don't worry, I think Disney Oswald is just as good, but this model is certainly more forgotten and rightfully deserves more attention.

I can't find a regular rock so im. Going to share all of my findings. I'm beginning to think I've got massive pariedolia because I can't stop seeing creations under the dirt. Does anyone else see this? This is one "rock", when viewed under 60x you can see the details are separate, somehow fused together on or in the stone.evwry "chip" "scratch" or mark is a detail. Every turn, shows a different face. The lioness at the top has a lion which appears under her chin when slightly rotated. Absolutely beautiful.
*I hyper focus so have spent hours and hours and hours gently brushing this piece. It looked nothing like this when I found it

have you ever thought about doing a rec list filled with your favourite works that are still under 100 or 200 kudos? or do you even have any on your list of favourite works? sometimes i see people recommending underrated works that have like 500+ kudos and it makes me wonder where readers draw their line for what is under-appreciated and whether they only ever read above a certain line, leaving out the smaller works.
Hi, anon! So I think only once has someone asked for some underrated fics (underrated angst, I think?) and that was quite a few years ago. This is a very good idea for a rec list, so I'll definitely add it to my list to do that's on my pinned post. (And I'll reblog a couple of underrated fics for you, too!)
I'd normally save this ask to link to it, but I'll skip that this time. Mostly because I want to talk about the rest of your ask. It's honestly wild what some people consider to be underrated or the line where they'll read. I have some of my own parameters for my fic rec blog ( @hlficlibrary ) because I do a hidden gem rec once a month over there. I try not to rec anything that's over that 500 kudos mark unless I'm kind of stretching for a rec and can't find something I've read. I'm not strict with it, but I keep it in mind. BUT I'll try not to rant now...a lot of new readers are coming from tiktok and the recs over there make me want to tear my hair out ;alksjdf I've seen tiktoks reccing "underrated" fics that have 10k kudos. TEN THOUSAND KUDOS. I try to remember that these are likely people just joining our fandom and stuff but yeah. I'm sure readers in general have different thoughts about this kind of thing than writers do, too.
Anyway, there is an account here that recs underrated fics and they're amazing! So definitely check them out... @ficsyoumayhavemissed
