as someone who was raised with a comparatively healthy mindset around food, I keep being baffled/concerned by other people’s eating practices that they’ll just drop like it’s no big deal. “I’m doing this intermittent fasting thing where I only eat one meal a day” girl if your one meal is the salad you eat every day for lunch I’m. that’s eating disorder behavior. and they talk about this stuff like it’s normal! “I’m trying out this new meal plan where—“ oh a starvation diet? completed a 24hr fast! morning weigh in says i lost 3lbs since yesterday 😵 probably water weight but i'm still super happy. broke my fast w ~120g of apple, will prolly be skipping lunch, will go on a walk to the store alone to make it look like i went to go buy it lol. gonna do a youtube workout today when i get home

saw a vegan say "it's not about making change, it's about not being cruel" in reference to stopping climate change & switching to all vegan diets. what an unserious and insane line of thought. idk about you but I think making actual real changes to stop climate change is far better than not eating meat because you think it's meanie behavior.

I was wondering if any of y'all have some go-to recipes that are super simple and straightforward to make that you'd be interested in sharing? Like meals that require as few steps and prep as possible? I'm trying to make more food at home and avoid highly processed microwave meals, but I lowkey hate cooking, especially when it's just for myself. While my executive dysfunction has definitely improved over the last month, I still very much have depression and ADHD and thus struggle to tackle more labor intensive activities unless there's a lot of dopamine release involved in the process. I obviously want to improve though, and I figure it's about time to stop living off my protein oatmeal. (It's super good tho, fairly nutritious, and really easy to make--just oats, protein powder, peanut butter, and a bit of honey).
I've compiled a bunch of possible recipes over the last few weeks (mostly from blogs listing meal ideas for picky children lmao), but was just curious if any of you had personal favorites of your own. Since I'm just starting out and have a shitty little 1970s apartment kitchen, I'm pretty limited, and don't really like dealing with super perishable ingredients like fresh produce yet. So only bother with sharing the kind of shit a latchkey middle schooler could make on their own lol

on 28hrs of liquid fasting rn! (or technically ~40, since the times i decided to start fasting and the last time i ate are different) i think i should break it soon tho bc im pretty tired/spaced out/dizzy.
i'll do a 'controlled' fast break, aka i fill up on low cal fruits and veg, then satisfy a craving later so i don't binge on a ton of sugary stuff. day 3 of ait diet = 750 cals max
meeting my bf in a few hours so i'll get him a donut and tell him i ate mine alr
also i did try the lewis hamilton monster and it was really good. tastes like lipton tea

hikari did lean into the 'vegetarian vampire' trope during her time as one. After the whole 'initial bloodlust' took her over and left her both terrified and horrified at what she's done and become, she focused pretty much on consuming pig's blood instead. She'd go to butchers and ask for some and she'd store it by freezing it, and she would even cook it into meals ( paired with a starch, typically ). It tasted better than food she wanted to eat or was accustomed to and that pissed her off hard.
first thing she did after exiting soft cell and doing stone mask research was eat fresh caught fish at a nice restaurant and it was so good she started crying.

due to some of my life's current circumstances (income below the operating expenses of the household and has been such for a couple months) I have been taking advantage of some local programs to assist with things like Having Food In the House and I have to say I am rather frustrated by the fact that a "healthy foods program" still insists that low-fat dairies are Healthier than full-fat and was deeply lacking in actual produce, frozen or otherwise
