Blue Little flowers - Tingha Tingha is a small town on the New South Wales Northern Tablelands, 26 km south of Inverell, 629 km north-north-east of Sydney and 460 km south-west of Brisbane. Before European settlement the area was occupied by the Anaiwan, a sub-group of the Murri Aboriginal people. Many of their descendants still live in the area. Early European occupation of the district is related to the settlement of Inverell. In 1870, tin was discovered at Tingha, after an initial find north at Elsmore. Thieves swipe $100k quartz stone from northern NSW museum
Thieves have stolen a valuable stone valued at $100,000 from a rural museum in northern NSW.
The 80 kg piece of quartz was stolen when an unknown number of people entered a museum in Tingha about 1am on Saturday.
The stone is described as being a dark brown smoky quartz grass stone and valued at an estimated $100,000, NSW Police said.
