I just wanna say this…Carman’s hand was shaking under that table when they held eye contact. I do not doubt 1899 could do the "Daniel isn't real" route (I can already see so much sadness if this is true, absolutely paradise for angst trope lovers like me) but that makes me even more confused, like... why did Daniel say "you're all trapped in the simulation", without including himself? Wouldn't he belong there if he isn't real? He almost sounds as if he is looking from outside in. Also right before Maura woke up, when they were talking, Daniel said that they were in the first simulation they created, and that it was like their second home. If it was their first ever simulation, and it's their "second home", it implies their "first home" is the real world. We saw him lie and omit the truth before, and that scene wasn't like that imo. Either he actually is real or he doesn't know he isn't.

If he isn't real, maybe he is a virtual copy of some real Daniel? That would explain why he doesn't consider himself trapped there because he wouldn't have an actual body and mind, but he would have the memories of building the simulations of the real Daniel. Or maybe he knows about the first layer of simulation (ocean) but is unaware of his own condition in the second layer (space) - if it is still a simulation (i'm pretty sure it is). I think.

Damn I don't even know why I keep trying to figure things out when they clearly haven't given us all the information we neeeeeeeed 💀💀💀
