A ninjago AU Concept:

I call it “Double Possession”. Basically when the gang is escaping Yang’s temple Jay goes back after Cole when he unties himself for the scroll, and when they get back to the door, with barely a moment to lose, Jay tries to pull Cole through as they run out of time.

He fails, and Cole is turned into a ghost, but instead of being a freestanding ghost like in canon, Cole essentially gets stuck in Jay’s body for the rest of s5-s6. So basically Cole and Jay share a body for the entire time that Cole’s a ghost, some Hijinks and Heart-to-Heart Talks ensue.

some more things abt the Double Possession AU

“Jay’s” eyes switch colors depending on who’s “active” at the time (My design for him gave Cole amber-brown eyes and Jay green eyes, so that’s how I differentiate em)

When not “active” either of them can express themselves as sort of just a voice in their head, or like... an inexplicable presence but with emotions. kind of hard to explain

between the two of them, Cole is actually better at communicating while “inactive” when compared to Jay. Jay doesn’t say much when he’s inactive. sure, he has spikes of emotions but that’s really it

To make up for Cole not being a full incorporeal dude, Jay has more Gadgets and Gizmos that act as alternate solutions to canon’s Ghost Shenanigans. stuff like an automatic lockpicker and like. a grappling hook to save them on the mountain

(full disclosure i have Not seen skybound but now that I’m thinking about This Idea maybe i should...)
