Blazar 2nd half Catalog Leak
Ok I'm gonna cover the most important information first, which is Blazar's upgrade form here:
Tumblr media
Even color809 posted about it so it's basically legit
So this is the design drawn by one of the toy conference attendees
And apparently it's name is "Ultraman Blazar Furdran Ultra Armor"
From the catalog leaks, it looks like Blazar is only gonna have a single upgrade form for the series, which is consistent with the hack we got from the Blazar Brace.
(Also for the next ep, Blazar will also reveal his original form in his rise sequence if yall haven't heard it alr by now, will talk about more in the commentary tmr)
And with that covered, onto the rest of the catalog leak:
1. DX Chilsofard Lancer (Combines with Chilsonite Sword)
2. DX Blazer Stone 05
- Ultraman Taiga Stone
- Glitter Trigger Eternity Stone
- Ultraman Decker Dynamic Type Stone
- Earth Garon Stone
3. DX Blazar Stone 06
- Ultraman Z Delta Rise Claw Stone
- Ultraman Geed Galaxy Rising Stone
- Ultraman Ribut Stone
- Gavadon Stone
4. DX Blazar Stone 07
- Ultraman Ginga Victory Stone
- Ultraman Reguluss Stone
- Ultraman Orb Specium Zepellion Stone
- Ultraman Zero Beyond Stone
- Sevengar Stone
5. Ultraman Blazar Great Battle Set
-Includes a Blazar and a Brood Gebaruga figures
(Brood Gebaruga is rumored to be a 3-headed kaiju)
UHS and UMS Figures:
Ultraman Blazar Furdran Ultra Armor
Gavadon (a)
Alien Reinas
Mogujon
Irugo
Zugugan
DX Figures:
Deltandal
Valaron (This dude is the final boss of the series)
Ultra Monster Advance Figures:
Fadoran
Earth Garon Mk.III Upgrade set
Miscellaneous:
(These are kaiju figures but not sure at this point what line theyre in)
Zangir
Gongirugan (Apparently a modified Zegan suit)
-
Looks like TsuPro really be spending all their ShinU revenue on Blazar lmao
But this means that we would most likely see all these suits being reused in subsequent series as well

2, 3 and 15 for the toku asks !
2. what was the first show you watched?
w! but i also count ooo as my first rider as well... i watched like 2 episodes of w then like 3 episodes of ooo then two years later i tried watching ooo again and got six episodes in this time and then i marathoned w with my friends. and then marathoned ooo with my friends. so they're like... intertwined lol
3. what shows have you watched so far?
completed: ryuki, faiz, blade, i've watched hibiki to its SPIRITUAL completion which is what counts, kabuto, kiva, w, ooo, drive, ex-aid, zero one
seen more than 10 eps: v3, kuuga, den-o, decade, fourze, wizard, gaim, ghost, build, revice, zenkaiger, donbros
seen less than 10 eps: rider 1971, zi-o, saber, go-onger, toqger (my beloveds), kyuranger, lupat, ultraman orb, ultraman z, tropre, delipre
literally just one or two eps: x (kamen rider), amazon, super-1, agito, amazons, timeranger, gokaiger, gobusters, kyuranger, ryusoulger, ultraman x, ultraman r/b, kaiketsu zubat, changerion, legend hero samgugjeon, dogengers, tokusatsu gagaga
(i am easily distracted and bad at watching shows so i tend to sample a lot </3 faiz is the only toku season i finished without ever groupwatching and it took me a year. at least sampling around a lot makes me feel cultured and knowledgeable)
15. least favorite series?

Rider: Gaim (twice), Ryuki, Ex-Aid (twice and a half), Build, Zi-O, Zero-One, Decade, Kabuto (technically I never finished Saber but I dropped it like several episodes before the end. Not that I remember anything)
Sentai: literally nothing lol. I watch every Donbros ep as soon as possible though it has an insane grip on my brain
Ultraman: Orb (my beloved...), Z, Geed and. uh. Nothing else I think? I started R/B but never finished
Other: [deep sigh] Changerion. Genuinely considering rewatching

Thinking abt the Decker premier
Made some tea and sat with my thoughts a bit and as much as I enjoyed Decker’s first ep it definitely felt a bit too much like Trigger for me.
And like, I know that’s unavoidable with it being a direct sequel, but even beyond the story beats just the format of what’s been shown so far feels similar in terms of format.
Like from X to Z all the ultra shows felt unique enough from one another that there wasn’t really anything to get stale except the standard ultra formula of secret identity+defense force, but even that got played with nicely most of the time.
Decker jsut feels like it’s gonna end up having an allmost identical format to Trigger, which seems like it’ll jsut end up dragging as the show goes on.
I of course hope I’m wrong, and I don’t expect Decker to be bad at all, because despite Trigger’s flaws tsupro has previously shown that they’re able to improve on concepts like this from one similar show to the next (see Ginga S to X).
That said I’d be lying out my ass if I said i was excited for another two years of this formula with the inevitable new gen Gaia, because the X-Z seasons were some of my favorites because of how different each one was.
Nothing abt ep 2 is really keeping my on the edge of my seat but I also don’t expect that from ultraman, so I’m gonna go into the rest of the show hoping it improves and distinguishes itself enough from the last season to not just be Trigger 2.

When I was a kid I know I watched a dub of ultra man that was on fox kids, which ultra was that? And is the dub funny bad or just bad? Also why is ultraman so much easier to watch in the states compared to rider?
I believe it was ultraman tiga. This dub is notoriously bad bc of the changes made to captain iruma, they made her look like a dumb incompetent bitch, and couldn't be more far from the original, and the eps where 2 minutes shorter, and they aired half of the series, so yeah, the bad kind of bad.
Tiga has an interesting dubbing history bc it was one of the few toku to be dubbed on the usa and latin america in the post mmpr era.
The reason why is easier to find ultraman in the usa is bc Tsuburaya is actually doing a effort to expand their brand in the west, the new president of tsupro said that he wanted to make ultraman just as big as marvel, and the dvd releases, the comic, the anime, Z and all the stuff on yt is part of this plan.

New Ultraman Arc rumor 1
I'm gonna do something different from this year onwards by actually labelling the different leaks so I can actually keep track of just how many rumors there are
So this comes from 2 usual sources (but not 809), so take this with a grain of salt
The director for Arc would be Tsujimoto Takanori, a new main director who previously directed some episodes from Z, Trigger and Decker.
Fans have pointed out that episodes that Tsujimoto directed has a common theme of fight scenes resembling anime fights, an example would be the episode where Trigger and Trigger Dark tagged team Banila and Aboras
Other examples of his work are Z ep 19, Decker ep 6 and 22. Decker ep 22 is noteworthy as he extensively used 3DCG and LED lighting in that ep to create specific environmental angles, something that is unique to his style.
Additionally, there will be a kaiju mascot this season which resembles an aquatic kaiju with cute and expressive eyes like Earth Garon and Sevengar
-
Was honestly expecting Sakamoto looking at the pattern of previous series, and also because he always directs my favourite fight scenes. But since its emphasised here that Tsujimoto is also well known for his fast paced fight scenes as well (and I also enjoyed the episodes he directed), so this is definitely works for me as well

Ultraman Z Ep. 19: “The Last Hero” (TV Review)
Tumblr media
(Original Airdate: October 31, 2020, Director: Takanori Tsujimoto, Writer: Toshizo Nemoto)
Time certainly got away from me last week, but I finally found some to be able to look at this amazing episode of Ultraman Z.
While fighting the monster Bemstar after it lands on Earth in search of food, STORAGE is taken by surprise when the monster flees at the sight of a crack in the sky. While the team stands by to deal with whatever comes out of the portal behind the crack, Zett tells Haruki it has the energy of the Yapool, a villain that once created “Terrible-Monsters” that were fought off by Ultraman Ace. When Yapool’s energy emerges in the form of the monster Baraba, it’s up to Haruki and Zett to hold fast against its overwhelming power.
Though they may require some help from an Ultra-Legend.
[Full Review Under the Cut]
Director Takanori Tsujimoto, who’s had a stellar track record this season including “First Juggling”, “Robot-2 Activation Plan”, and last time’s “Rechallenge from the Year 2020”, and the effects crew’s work on this episode appropriately make it feel like a capital-E “Event” above other episodes. After the more subdued style of camera work in the previous episode, this time is almost relentless with one creative effects-shot or high energy sequence after another. Before things kick into high gear, we get a shot from the perspective of a civilian’s cell phone camera of Windom and King Joe on standby to fight against whatever comes out of the crack in the sky. The compositing between the shots of the model city and the physical space the extras playing the civilian witnesses are in is seamless. Ground-level civilians also play a role in a small visual gag as Zett fights Baraba. A sliding parallax shot between people trying to get pictures of the fight that runs in parallel to the background action as the camera slides across the events.
Tumblr media
The camerawork also plays into establishing Baraba as a threat in this episode. When the “Hitman Terrible-Monster” (gotta love these titles) lands from the portal it broke through, the camera does a hard pullback into an office building where we see the windows shatter from the shockwave of the monster’s first attack. Each move Baraba takes from there further reinforces how direness of its presence. First in how quickly it takes out King Joe, though that’s becoming less of an impressive feat as we get more appearances from Joe (I swear its been overall less helpful in fights than either of its predecessors.) More impressive is how quickly it manages to deal with Ultraman Z in Delta Rise Claw form, knocking Beliarok out of Zett’s grip quickly before the fight becomes an utter curbstomp. Baraba manages to do something we’ve only seen once before, knocking Zett out of Ultra-Fusion into his default form.
When the battle against Baraba becomes as desperate as any we’ve seen in the show, hope arrives in the form of Ultraman Ace.
Tumblr media
Like with Ultra Q last time, I haven’t watched the series for Ultraman Ace yet, so there’s only so much I can say about this episode as a tribute to that. However, the shift in the atmosphere of this episode is palpable once Ace shows up to provide support against Baraba. From the accompanying music to the way the lighting makes him shine a little brighter than anything else in this episode, Ace’s arrival marks the fulfillment of the “Event” tone the rest of the episode sets. Ace showing off all his energy attacks against the monster, before encouraging Zett to rejoin the fight in Beta Smash form (appropriate since that fusion features Ace’s power as one of its components.) It’s mostly another fantastic display of action for the series, but it does feature the one effects shot in the episode that didn’t impress me. We see both Ultras attack Baraba from various angles as a CGI cityscape spins alongside all of them. It’s a bit much in an episode where otherwise the effects are some of the most impressive in the series and does more to distract from the action on display than enhance it.
The battle between the Ultras and Baraba ends when Ace teaches Zett to use Beta Smash’s power in a new attack called “Space Z”, finally defeating the monster. The end of the fight leaves both heroes with time to talk about their connection to each other, namely a “debt” that Zett told Haruki he owes to Ace earlier in the episode. Ace reveals that he’s the one who gave our title hero the name “Ultraman Z”, making him Zett’s “godfather” as Haruki puts it. The older hero tells Zett he chose the name since the letter Z means “the last” on Earth. Which is Ace’s hope for Zett’s legacy, that he’ll be the last hero the galaxy will need to fight against evil (so… no pressure or anything.)
Tumblr media
Jokes aside, Zett looking up to his senior Ultra’s has been a major recurring motif in this series. Whether it’s wanting to be Zero’s student or the honorifics he tells Haruki to give the past heroes when they use Ultra-Fusion, wanting to be part of that legacy defines Ultraman Z. Here we see some of that admiration returned in Ace’s hope for the rookie Ultra. There’s added meaning, from a meta level, for that sentiment coming from one of the Showa-era’s “Ultra Brothers.” While Zero and Geed are both fantastic characters and heroes, they are more contemporary with Zett. Getting a demonstration of Zett’s in-universe connections to the greater legacy of Ultra displayed as spectacularly as it was in this episode is the best character showcase for Zett himself we’ve gotten.
Since the episode after this was a clip show I won’t bother reviewing, I’ll return to Ultraman Z with this Friday’s upcoming episode after it airs.

4: oh this is gonna be a lot so lets just go with Currently Watching;
Rewatches:
Decade: Rewatching this after having seen almost all of phase 1 is pretty rewarding in being able to catch the callbacks
Kabuto: i love Kabuto and i will have my friends watch it.
New watches:
Megaranger: I love Megaranger but the universe doesn’t want me to see megaranger as everything we try to watch it something goes wrong, it’s really good and i need to get back to it. -next ep is the one where Kenta gets a baby monster, which welp
Dynaman: this is Exactly the show i expected, this is not a bad thing so far.
Changeman: WELP (this is also not a bad thing)
Metalder: Really Good, Metalder is a good boy. Can’t wait to be devestated more.
Ultraman R/B: four eps in, i’m really enjoying this. Brothers who have to learn all this shit on their own. It’s great. (Also can’t wait to get to Asahi and Saki’s stuff)
Weekly:
Kiramager: it’s good, solid, i need to see the most recent two eps, def one of the best sentai in years. I adore Juuru
Saber: enjoying it! I’m glad Fukuda learned how to make his character introductions better too.
Ultraman Z: i enjoy the episodes but i also badly want Z to be in his Own show. I’m glad last week’s ep had him talking during the fight scene. Please Z this isn’t the showa era you can have your human and ultra talk. Please Zero and Leito did this so well.
Does power rangers count? Cause i’ll put it anyways:
Dino Charge: neat, i’m glad the footage got good enough i can’t tell when the original footage and sentai footage begin and end.
Lightspeed rescue and Operation overdrive: *points to watchthroughs tag*
Lightspeed Rescue:
13: BIGWAYNE ;-; , But for Major characters: Ankh, Tezuka, Tsurugi Kamishiro.
15: Least favorite series:
Faiz for Phase 1 heisei:
I knew i would dislike faiz before watching but i tried to give it a chance, and it was good, until it wasn’t.
We never topped the Dreams eps.
Inoue you have done better Before And After this.
I say as being in the minorty as having enjoyed Kiva please note.
I’m also not big on the orphenoch designs, they’re really Good, but they blend together because they are All white and Grey. I get Why but it’s not appealing to my eyes after awhile.
Don’t look up character ages while watching it Will make Keitaro’s subplot worse.
Kusaka sucks but that’s obvious.
I wasn’t a fan of Mari or Keitaro by the end either, (Mari for the Sawada stuff, Keitaro for having Zero backbone And the Yuka subplot was not fun. And neither really endeared me with their reactions to Takumi being an Orphenoch -and Bad move making Takumi’s good times flashback of Mari being her Insulting him) and what the absolute fuck was Faiz’s final episode.
Drive for Phase 2 heisei:
I am disappointed i hated this as much as i do, but i do
I don’t like Riku Sanjo’s writing, and i hated so much of Drive’s main plot. It’s treatment of Kiriko is awful, And Gou is my current least favorite secondary rider. (That isn’t Kusaka)
And Krim Fucking Sucks when you know his deal, i am Still mad about the reveal with him and Heart what the fuck man. And it tanked my enjoyment of Suprise Future
Also fuck So much of the endgame arc
Blade: just for visuals alone. Something went wrong with the cameras and filming and i cannot for the life of me explain what but i do not like looking at much of it, and i’m sure it carried over from late faiz and into Early Hibiki.
Sorry Hibiki, ep 1-2 were Hard to look at during the fights, and it was Really Slow.

Ultraman Blazar first Catalog Leak
There's ALOT to go through here ngl so imma split it up into categories:
DX Series
1. DX Blazar Brace
Has glowing LED effects with 7 colours (Ginga reference)
Comes with a Blazar Stone for Blazar and Z, allows Ultraman Blazar to use his finisher and the finishers of other ultras
There is gonna be 150 different Blazar stones
With the Brace having up to 30 animations
The Blazar Brace has voice recordings of up to 20 previous Ultras
(does that mean Blazar would be using the said 20 stones in-series?)
2. DX Blazar Brace Nakiri Set
Consisting of the Blazar Brace and the Blazar Stone sets 1 and 2
3. DX Blazar Stone Set 1
Contains Blazar, Tiga (Multi), Ginga and Decker (Flash)
4. DX Blazar Stone Set 2
Contains Zero, Belial, Trigger (Multi), Victory
5. DX Blazar Stone Set 3
Contains Niji Kagachi (used to form a rainbow colored spear for Blazar), X, Orb Origin, JJ
6. DX Blazar Stone Set 4
Contains Garamon (to summon the Chilsonite Sword), Geed Primitive, Rosso F, Blu A
7. DX Chilson Sword
Apparently, this weapon can be further powered up by attaching other parts, after which the recordings played will change as well
8. DX Earth Galon
SKaRD's first mech
9. DX Gevalka
Blue monster with a very large mouth
Ultra Sofubi Series:
1. Ultraman Blazar
2. Basanka (To show up in ep 1)
Described as red in colour with blue patterns
3. Taganular (To show up in ep 3)
Described as a yellow beetle
4. Gedos
Described as looking similar to a monkfish
5. Revila
A white 4-legged monster likened to the giant 4 legged giant monster from the The Mist
6. Dorugo
Looks like a giant ship monster with cannons on its back
7. Baby Demaaga
8. Alien Kanan
9. Garamon
10. Adobe Bans
Seems like SKaRD's 3rd mech, has some sort of combination attack with Garamon
11 Niji Kagachi
Skeleton kaiju with rainbow skin
12. Garamon mod 2
Stated to be critical in the fight against Niji Kagachi and has a large gun equipped
Ultra Action Figure
1. Ultraman Blazar
2. Ultraman Mebius
3. Ultraman Nexus Anphans
Other noteworthy comments from sources
1. There is gonna be alot of brand new kaiju
2. Blazar's fighting style is similar to Ribut's
3. Gimmick concept and looks are very similar to KR Drive and OOOs
4. Blazar's host is SKaRD's captain
5. Blazar also uses a rainbow colored spear to fight via the Nija Kagachi Blazar Stone
In fact, one of the sources pointed out that this may tie in with the mystery of X's Xlugger that he obtained from a rainbow in cyberspace, potential link?
Especially sus since this coincides with X's original VA also suddenly returning after 6 years of being MIA as well as Taguchi taking the helm
-
Yeah you read that right, there's actually no other forms of Blazar revealed for the third quarter press conference
Definitely haven't seen something like this since Ginga
Which suggests that the series is most probably gonna be plot-focused, but with Taguchi taking the helm this time, I absolutely can't wait to be blown away by the fight scenes as well!

How would you rank the Reiwa series, so far?
I'll be heavily summarising the reasons since I've talked about each individual series extensively before
1. Ultraman Z: 4/5
Basic plot but the best overall action sequence in the franchise
Works great for an intro to Z's character with possible areas of expansion (ye still think TsuPro will eventually build up more on his backstory in the future)
2. Ultraman Trigger: 3/5
A major disappointment from start to finish with the whole Dark Giants main plotline
Would've been worse than Taiga if not for the comparable action sequences to Z
3. Ultraman Taiga: 2/5
Toregia hard carried the entire series from start to finish so well that it made everything else looked like a joke
Series had so much going for it with many new ideas being implemented but far from being actually realized in the series
In fact the biggest flaw of the series could be attributed to the fact that there was too much going for it that it was clearly something the writers and director bit off more than they could chew
Series would've been more interesting and far more impactful if we focused on the prequel (that being the formation of the Tri Squad like what we had in the Voice Drama) than whatever we got, bascially same as RB
4. Ultraman Decker (up till ep 2 as of writing)
Not gonna give a rating yet for obvious reasons but so far based on the confirmed leaks as well as the current 2 eps, it's shaping up to be built like X, and to be a kinda meh series with a more interesting plotline than Z but not as much to look forward to than Taiga and Trigger had (before we realized we got baited by the latter 2 that is)
Still waiting for Masayoshi to back up his own prediction that Decker would be the best New Gen series (Tho understandably it has that potential based on leaks)
Don't expect anything interesting would happen until at least ep 7 when Trigger arrives
By the end of the series, I predict it's gonna either be 1st place to 3rd
Thanks for the question!

In regards to the dynamic between Gai and Juggler, what was it that made you like it as much as you said in your answer to ultrasomething’s recent question, beyond just ‘it reminded me of the Gaia-Agul bromance’ or such?
I’m asking cause I want to achieve a similar dynamic between three characters in my fan series, Ultraman M/L/V: Dark Isemiovrei (an Ultra who is influenced greatly by the Lord Particles in his blood), Ultraman Vylcan (a heroic ultra who’s the son of Isemiovrei), and Ultrawoman Anastasia (a heroic ultra who’s the daughter of Isemiovrei.)
It's essentially JJ redeeming himself in the last ep.
But if you wanna go further, my attitude towards their relationship has to involved whatever went down in Origin Saga as well as JJ's sense of justice was different from Gai and the "standard" view, which all sort of stemmed from when then VoL chose Gai instead of JJ
Basically, the anti-hero route coming back full circle after 2 seasons, a movie, and of course via the Orb Chronicle chapters
It's a pretty typical anti-hero trope tho? It's just that the Ultraman Franchise has less than a handful of these, which is why I pointed out those 2 specific examples
And of course, JJ gains further development in this via the Z Novel, which gives context to his appearance and decisions in the Z series. Basically achieving what he wanted in Origin Saga, which is to stand by his own sense of justice.
Thanks for the question!
