The scientists told him that he was very sick. He had a special pill that he would have with every meal and that someone would watch him eat. They would stand in the corner of his room and wait for him to swallow the pill. Only then would they leave the room.
He always felt fine, though. Maybe it was because he had been on the pills for so long. Wouldn’t he have been able to… go home by now? Shouldn’t his family be there to pick him up?
or alternatively: Neil Hume is found after a year in a facility by pure chance. He seems fine but... something isn't quite right.

In April, I read a lot more Stranger Things stories than usual, and they were all good! So I made a section just for this fandom in my recommendations, like for Supernatural. As usual, the fanfics I read were on the shorter side, mostly one-shots.

The Raven Cycle Untitled Pando Fic: So this fic is just a twinkle in my eye right now, but it was supposed to be the long fic I wrote this year before Sapphic Wolfstar took over my brain. But I do have extensive notes for it. Also Mel is going to co-write it with me but she doesn’t know that yet. What’s a girl to do when Maggie Steifvater offhandedly mentions on Twitter that she planned, but will never write, a TRC spinoff involving an 80,000 year old forest? Pando is a clonal colony of Aspen trees in Utah, and while it looks like thousands of individual trees, it’s actually a single organism connected by extensive underground root systems. But really this fic is about Blue taking Gansey to meet her dad’s side of the family and… let’s just say it doesn’t go well. Additionally Adam reconnects with his mother and starts a new job. Ronan adopts a teenage dreamer who is his karmic retribution for his own teen angst rebellion. Henry’s parents split up. I will write this, eventually. Probably. Maybe.

i do include lots of characters from the tlou universe in my writing though (at least in some of my newer things, or some things that’ll just straight up never see the light of day). idk if that counts for anything in terms of immersion purposes, but that’s there.

A series of Good Omens/Stardew Valley ficlets I've been posting on tumblr as I play through thunderheadfred's "Stardew Omens" mod (which replaces Harvey with Aziraphale as the town doctor). Knowledge of the game provides some additional context for the NPCs etc but really it's all about the ineffable farm romance here. Rating might go up if these two idiots start tearing each other's clothes off at some point.
