Fall Fest Drabbles

Day 10: Rain

Wen Ning hangs back as the boys hurry ahead of him into the inn. The drizzle which had begun as they entered the small town is now a full fledged downpour and he can’t fault their desire to get inside. He’s already turning away as Jin Ling pauses in the doorway.

“Where are you going?” the boy demands.

“Nowhere.” Wen Ning replies quickly, “I’ll just wait out here.”

“But it’s raining!”

Wen Ning looks up at the sky and then back at Jin Ling. “Yes,” he says.

Jin Ling sputters indignantly. “You..!” He stops, swallows, huffs, “Just get in here!”
