thinking about vitodyne tonight. they’re just so beautifully complex. i designed vito to be an emotionally complicated character; cdpr said “hold my beer” and gave us kerry eurodyne.

there’s something so beautiful in two people who are afraid to love again finding themselves letting their guard down around one another. two people who don’t quite fit into the world feeling like they’ve found their place when they’re in each other’s company. two people who have both loved and lost; who are afraid of it happening again; the strength of those bonds is something to be admired.

the complexity in all of the layers that don’t make sense on their own but seem to be comprehensible when together.

Kerry trudged along the line of neatly parked cars, blinking blearily over a cup of coffee. Working late the night before meant he was still trying to wake up by mid-morning, fighting back yawns and the urge to slip back into the elevator and head upstairs where his bed was waiting. 

Waiting, but empty, as his partner was somewhere up ahead working on that beast of a truck he'd acquired a few years back. Had a few others of the same build, too -- Mackinaw? Kerry wasn't sure, he knew fuck all about cars and V had so many of them at this point -- but even the rockerboy knew this one was special to him. Still bore her original decals from her first owner, V taking care to keep the trans flags polished up and intact in what Kerry imagined was some sort of queer solidarity. A nice gesture, he could admit, a nod to the fact that the queer community hadn't been completely consumed and re-constituted into Night City's dominant subgroups. It was nice to see younger generations of queers hadn't given up the fight any, declaring themselves and who they were despite a not-so-subtle push to be quieter about it in the face of "wide-spread acceptance."

He shook the thoughts from his head, taking another sip and edging closer to the telltale sounds ahead: music warbling from speakers, radio settled on rock for the time being, and under the familiar refrain ground out by his own voice the clank of tools against metal. 

Kerry stepped around the other truck and paused, leaning a hip against it and taking a moment to…admire, the scene before him. 

The Beast's hood was up, innards exposed as her dutiful mechanic straightened, shoving a grease-stained rag in the back pocket of his jeans. Kerry watched as muscle rippled beneath skin decorated with delicate ink in floral and geometric motifs, spanning both of V's upper arms, his shoulders, another flower covering the side of his neck. Knew without looking the lines they led to, the chest piece, the one expanding across his upper back, the newer one etched into his right pec bearing Kerry's own name. 

He smiled into his coffee, eyes trailing along V's ass, his thighs, strength evident even in the worn jeans he wore whenever he worked on his cars. 

That smile widened as another Samurai song came on, V humming along, fingers tapping out the beat against the edge of the truck -- in rhythm, too, Kerry noted with approval. 

"Ya ever gonna let me teach you how to play guitar?" he asked, taking another sip even as V startled and turned around. His partner huffed a laugh, stepping away from the truck and making his way over to Kerry. Slipped his own fingers around Kerry's mug, tugging it from his grasp before swooping in for a long, lingering kiss. 

"I'll think about it," he murmured, ghosting another peck to his lips before leaning back and taking a sip for himself. 

"You know that's --"

"--so bitter!"

"Babe, I've literally had the exact same blend the entire time you've known me and I never," he went on, taking the mug back as V made a face, "add any sweetener or milk. You know this."

V just kept making a face in his direction until Kerry finally cracked, laughing.

Sick Day, OC Edition

So I've been sick for a week, and have been coughing almost non stop for 3 days. Since I don't have a partner, I have to do everything myself while I'm sick... When I should just be resting in bed or in my chair.

Then I got bored and decided to make this on a whim. Then decided to not write it because I had self sabotaging thoughts of "But does anyone really care?"

Trope: I'm totally fine (is not fine please take them to the hospital)

Doesn't believe Spartans can get sick. If Frëja is sick, they usually end up unconscious in the medical wing of the Infinity due to overexertion of their body while being sick. A medic ODST has to guard Frëja to make sure they don't try to cheat recovery.

Jun will visit Frëja when they're finally released to their personal quarters. He brings Frëja hot tea from what would be Asian diaspora communities. He also burns Frëja's favorite incense and when he is off duty they watch drama vids together.

Nathaniel Owen & Ianto Hughes

Trope: I'm really sick please take care of me

Nate isn't anxious about his health. He just hates feeling useless when he's sick. But when he is sick, he milks the "take care of me routine" from Arthur. One time when Nate was doped up on medicine from a respiratory infection, Arthur came into their room on the Prydwen and Nate goes

"YOUR BEARD IS AN ENCHANTED FOREST IT'S SO MAGNIFICENT!"

"Nate go back to bed..."

"Hahaha Elder Grumpy Santa!"

*mumbles*

Arthur loves him though and between being busy with the Brotherhood and delegating Nate's duties, he actually sometimes puts Nate ahead of other things and pressures Cade into treating him because he's worried whenever Nate gets sick.

Ianto is a drama queen and totally milks the drama "I'M SIIIIICK PLEASE TAKE CARE OF MEEEEEEEE."

Shin pretends to be annoyed and scoffs but then secretly hands Ianto treats and cookies. Meanwhile if Shin is sick, he refuses to be taken care of and Ianto has to basically force feed him immunizations and medicine.

Vincente Eurodyne

Trope: Yes I took my pills this morning (Did not take his pills)

V knows he's sick. He knows the pills help. But he hates taking treatments for being sick. He hates cold medicine and he hates his new infusion drug that helps keep his body stable after losing Johnny.

Kerry greeting him in the kitchen with "Did you take your meds this morning."

"Yes."

Kerry then holds the meds up saying, "No, you didn't dumbass."

(Movie Night!)

((Needed some cuteness in my life))

The act of making popcorn seemed so mundane to V now. Grabbing soda instead of a beer or some other alcohol was strange. Just… popcorn and soda for tonight please. It was nice.

He poured the popcorn into a bowl and put the wanted toppings on it, before carrying it back to the living room, Kerry typing on his phone. V frowned and pressed a cold drink to the back of his neck, making his lover hiss and flinch away, wiping away any water that had been on the can.

“Little shit.”

“Old man.”

Vax grinned at him, settling into his side as Kerry stared down at him, clearly not amused. But it looked meant nothing with his arm around V, cuddled up to him.

“I will sleep at the Villa tonight.”

“You will not. You can’t sleep without me.” While it sounded cocky, it was true. Neither could sleep without the other.

Kerry just huffed and flicked the back of his head, helping Vax get settled with their snacks in hand. Kerry’s arm went back around him, rubbing his shoulder.

“What’s the movie? Another old one?” Kerry was on a mission to show V all the old movies he loved as a kid.

“Yeah, called Bladerunner. Ever seen it?” Kerry knew the answer but asked anyway.

“Nope.”

Kerry chuckled and started the movie, propping his leg up on the coffee table. The two were comfortable now, in their own skins and with each other. No fear or uncertainty in each other anymore. Kerry so unapologetically looked at V with love in his eyes, for V and only V.

“What would you do without me? Missing out on all these classics.”

“I’d probably be dead without you.” V looked up at him, Kerry already looking back.

“…Me too.” Kerry said back, bumping their foreheads together for a moment before focusing back on the movie.

Vax didn’t immediately pull back, staring at his lover’s profile for a moment before kissing his cheek.

“I love you.”

Kerry blinked, still clearly unused to hearing it so clear and directly too him.

“I love you too, doll.”

The Charter Hill Matter

It's finally done ;__; I've been working on this on and off for the better part of half a year now I think. It was one of the first bigger ideas I sketched out one afternoon shortly after finishing my first Cyberpunk playthrough in February '23 xD

The little background story tha inspired it, that I've definitely told before, goes as follows:

During "Gimme Danger", when talking with Takemura about their childhood, Corpo!V will talk about their childhood growing up in Charter Hill. And me, a sucker for details like that, in the middle of building a background story for my V at the time, immediately drove to Charter Hill then to figure out where a good place to live might be.

I chose a random apartment building on Grant Avenue, cause it had metro access, lots of shops, and all the bright neon lights and ads everyhwere that V mentions. Good enough, I thought, it's settled. He grew up there.

Flashforward about 20 hours of gameplay, I finally meet Kerry, and he invites V to Dark Matter. And I don't think I even initially realized it (bc, you know, I was slightly... preoccupied otherwise during that convo) but then it dawned on me... You can actually see the building I chose as V's childhood home quite well from up there. And he would obviously realize it, too. Since Vince doesn't have good memories of the place though he never brings it up, until Kerry eventually, during one of their many dates they end up having up there, notices he's been staring off into the distance a little more than usual.

And yeah... this is that scene and I really wanted to do it as a little comic ;__;

All backgrounds are ingame screenshots, the map of Charter Hill is a heavily edited screenshot of the interactive Cyberpunk Map (https://maps.piggyback.com/cyberpunk-2077/maps/night-city) and the street names I referenced from this map someone on Reddit put together by hand from going around and reading all the ingame street signs (https://www.reddit.com/r/LowSodiumCyberpunk/comments/msyg79/i_couldnt_find_a_map_of_night_city_with_street/). Both super duper useful resources for writing, can highly recommend, I use them all the time XD

Anyway, I hope you like my sappy, self-indulgent lil' comic, I sure as hell had a lot of fun working on it and I'm so proud to finally have it finsihed x3
