Lucas skims his gaze over the books in front of him consideringly, with only half-hearted attention. His mind isn’t really here. It’s stuck in his room from last night, in today’s lunch period, just an hour ago. When Jens had caught him in the courtyard and walked halfway home with him, joking and teasing and acting like he had been Lucas’s best friend for years.

Lucas understands, because he also feels that simplicity in their relationship, that easy connection. The effortless flow, the familiar back and forth. It had been a startling realisation the night before, when Jens had called him out of the blue, almost giving him a heart attack at first. What wasn’t even supposed to be a call in the first place had turned into an hours-long conversation, both of their voices turning hushed and their laughter muffled as the night wore on. Lucas falls back into a state of disbelief, thinking about it now. He kind of can’t believe his luck.

He’s also beyond worried, and just a little mad at himself. Since when does he let himself get so attached so quickly?

He wants to believe that it isn’t a problem. That Jens seems just as invested in the friendship as him. That things are going well with the rest of the boys, who seem to have accepted Lucas into their circle without an ounce of hesitation. Lucas is unbelievably lucky. He should be ecstatic.

He shouldn’t be spending so much of his time thinking about just how ecstatic he is that Jens was the one to take him in.

He really, really shouldn't be spending so much of his time thinking about how pretty Jens is.

It's just his luck that the boy would have to look like that.

He needs to get his mind off of it for at least a little while, in some way, or he’ll do something completely stupid. Like call Jens again. Even though he’s just seen him. He can’t be trying to get all his happiness here from a single source. He can find ways to be happy on his own.

Which is the only thought that has brought him to the small art shop a few blocks from his apartment, only a couple-of-minutes cycle away. It’s convenient and quiet and seemingly good quality. He’s been itching to explore it since he first got here, but there’s been so much to see and so little money in his pocket. He’s simply been biding his time and reminding himself of it.

Now that he’s here, though, it’s a little hard to be interested. His gaze wanders over the supplies, unseeing, and he plucks a random book off the shelf he’s standing in front of in hopes of looking less lost. He flips it around and skims the back of it, barely registering, unable to even remember the cover. Distracted, still.

This is what makes him jump a full foot into the air at the sudden voice at his shoulder. “Ahh, one of the greatest gay icons to ever live.”

Lucas whips his head around to find that the deep voice belongs to a tall guy with a leather jacket, an easy smirk, and a startling shock of white hair. He runs his gaze over the stand, as well, not even looking at Lucas as Lucas drops his gaze back to the book in his hands, taking in Leonardo’s artfully sculpted face with furrowed brows.

“Da Vinci was gay?” Lucas finds himself questioning, unsure, twisting to look at the blonde as he finally gets his attention.

The boy shrugs, still smirking slightly as he nods at the book. “I guess we never really have any way of being sure but a lot of historians and critics are pretty sure. I can see why you’re considering the book. It’s probably all in there.”

Lucas’s brow remains furrowed as he looks at the cover again. Huh.

“You’re not an art student then?” The boy asks it lightly, his smirk having smoothed into a small smile, and Lucas simply shrugs.

“No, just...a hobby. You’re definitely an art student though.”

The boy huffs, smile widening. He holds his hands out to the sides and asks, “What gave it away?”

Lucas laughs, shaking his head slightly. The boy sticks his hand out to him and says, “Sander, by the way.”

Lucas shakes his hand, the name bouncing around in his head, sounding familiar but distant—until it suddenly clicks into place. Beautiful and blonde and artsy, with a particular amount of knowledge on the sexual orientation of a dead man. “Wait. Robbe’s Sander?”

Sander’s face brightens instantly and Lucas knows he’s gotten it right. “You know Robbe?”

“Yeah, I’m in his year. I mean, only recently though.” When Sander only continues to look at him in confusion, he realises he hasn’t even introduced himself yet. “Sorry, I’m Lucas.”

Sander’s expression brightens further, though this time it’s with recognition. “As in Jens’s Lucas?”

Lucas almost drops the book in his hands as his heart gives a particularly violent thump in response to those words. He feels heat rush up his neck and into his cheeks in the space of that heartbeat, feeling a bit like a deer in headlights. What is that supposed to mean? How is he supposed to react to it?

Realising Lucas’s hesitant surprise, Sander adds, “From the party? The guy in the bathtub?”

Ah. Of course. Lucas nods with a smile and a small huff. “Interesting nickname, but yeah.”

“Sorry,” Sander laughs. “I still just find it funny, finding Jens just sitting there all chilled out. I know you’ve integrated into the rest of the group this week though right?”

Lucas nods again. “At least, I think so.”

Sander gives him a reassuring smile and a shake of his head. “Robbe already talks about you as one of them. And I gather Jens is a big enough fan, too.”

Lucas flushes again, and there’s a glint in Sander’s smile that’s just a little too knowing to make him comfortable. He clears his throat and looks back down at the book, eyes widening slightly as he catches sight of the price tag before setting it back on the shelf. “Well, I think I have a good enough education on him now to go without that.”

Sander snorts, easily adjusting to the subject change, and Lucas decides that he likes him. “You’re into photography too, right?” Lucas nods and Sander hums, doing a slow scan of the shop. “What to teach you next then, dear protégé,” he muses to himself.

Lucas raises his brows, smiling slightly. “Are you taking me in now, too?”

“What, with all that atrocious lack of knowledge on such important history? Of course. Those boys will never teach you that.”

Lucas laughs quietly, knowing he probably isn’t wrong. He has happily accepted Jens as his Antwerp guide, but an artistic, older, non-straight mentor doesn’t sound unappealing. Lucas suspects that Sander fits quite well into his preferred vibe, into his idea of a friend, and he knows the boy surely comes as a package deal anyway. Lucas feels a little like he knew him already, before this chance meeting, with how present he is with the Broerrrs. From the beginning, Lucas hasn’t expected to be friends with Robbe without eventually having the chance to befriend Sander, too.

“If that mural of your boyfriend is any indication of your skills, I’ll gladly be your protégé, if you’ll have me,” Lucas agrees.

Sander flushes now, but his smile holds a quiet pride and an overwhelming amount of love. Lucas’s heart twists at just the sight of it. “Gladly,” Sander returns. “You might even fix Jens up a bit while you’re at it.”

Lucas just huffs a small laugh and tries not to let the words affect him, again. He doesn’t need to stop thinking about Jens entirely, but he really needs to stop thinking about Jens like that. Like he’s even a possibility. “Should I refer to you as my mentor from here on out then?”

“Ugh, mentor makes it sound so formal,” Sander wrinkles his nose. “Just think of me as your...guru, or something, yeah?”

Lucas huffs again, shaking his head as he grins. “Alright, guru. Can my first lesson be on what I can get in here for less than ten euro?”

Any and all asks for these AUs are more than welcome.

Kwaminette AU- AU where Marinette is Plagg and Tikki’s daughter. She’s a Kwami instead of a human, but she prefers to take on a human form because she likes interacting with humans. She’s the Panda Kwami of Balance, and the kwami of Cory Bernard/Panda Girl, my Miracusona. When she’s not helping out Cory, she’s busy trying to bond with Adrien. This one takes place within the show.

Miraculous Injustice AU- AU where the members of Team Miraculous are placed in the Injustice video game. The canon Team Miraculous gets sent to a dimension where the team is split up and akumas fight for both good and evil because Cat Noir turned evil after they found out Gabriel was Hawkmoth. The Quantic Kids (Felix, Bridgette, Melodie, Sparrow, Gavroche, Kim Mime, and Mercury) are included in this AU as well.

Dupain Cheng Kids AU- AU where Tom and Sabine adopt everyone in the Miracuclass as their child (except Adrien cause he’s their future son in law). Marinette keeps an eye for fellow classmates that don’t have the best home life. She then passes word to her parents, who fight tooth and nail to earn legal custody of said child (We don’t care they aren’t on the adoption list, they deserve to be in a home FULL OF LOVE).

Catbug AU- AU where Marinette has both the Black Cat and Ladybug Miraculouses. She calls herself Catbug. Plagg and Tikki are like a second set of parents to her, and she eventually develops a harem.

Mike and Mari AU- AU where Marinette has an older brother named Michael. He is her favorite thorn in her side as well as her go-to Miraculous Holder. He’s dating Miss Bustier and is going to school to become an interior designer.

Role Reversal AU- AU where Marinette and Adrien are switched Miraculouses. Lady Noire and Mister Bug protect Paris against Pavona and Hudie (Gina and Sabine); who want the Miraculouses to bring back Tom. Involves reverse crush and somewhat reverse life.

Adrien’s Monster AU- AU where Duusu summons a full time sentimonster to protect Adrien. He names it Hiss and it follows him everywhere he goes. Hiss and Plagg hate each other.

Supernatural AU- AU where everyone except Adrien (who’s still human) is a mythological creature. Marinette is a fairy, Kim and Rose are werewolves, Alix is a Hobbit, Mylene is a Dwarf. Juleka and Luka are vampires, Ondine is a mermaid, Ivan is an ogre, Alya is one of the last of the Nine-Tailed Fox clan, Chloe is an elf, Lila is a changeling, Max is half-sphinx, Nathaniel is a brownie, Kagami is a yokai, Marc is a leprechaun, and Nino is a Kappa (though nobody knows). The Kwmais are fae creatures that run/protect the school. Miss Bustier is a pixie, Ms Mendeleiev is a witch, and Principal Damocles is the owl of Athena. Gabriel is secretly a hunter of mythical creatures and sent Adrien to the school so he could get closer to them. (Courtesy to @miraclesoup for some of these ideas)

Hive Guard AU- AU where Chloe keeps her Miraculous at the end of Miraculer, runs away, and becomes a freelance hero of sorts. She’s extremely active is trying to find and stop Hawkmoth and Mayura. She lives in the eiffel tower, and trains with Pollen every day. Nobody but Sabrina knows her location; and she becomes Queen Bee’s right hand.

Jurassic AU- AU where Emilie’s maiden name was Hammond, and one day Adrien discovers is grandfathers work and reopens Jurassic Park.

House Cat AU- AU where Cat Noir actually decides to date Marinette in Weredad and becomes the Dupain Cheng housecat.

Mother Peahen and Papallion AU- also known as the MP3 AU. AU where Duusu and Nooroo adopt Adrien after Heroes Day with Plagg as the greasy uncle.

Road Trip AU- An AU where Team Miraculous travels around the world looking for Lost Miraculouses after defeating Hawkmoth and Mayura. Ali and Aurore bear the Moth and Peacock Miraculouses in this AU.

Miraculous Descendants AU- An AU where Miraculous characters are in the movie Descendants. Most of them are the children of Akumas.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 AU- An AU where there are two boys that like Kagami. Conner (a new student from America who tries to make Kagami jealous by lying about Ryuuko being into him) & Hiroki (a rival from Japan that she beat who believes that she should be his girlfriend) & Luka/Viperion doesn't like how uncomfortable they make her or how angry they make her feel.

Guard Dragon AU (Rockstar!Luka & Bodyguard!Ryuuko AU)- An AU where Kitty Section's new bodyguard is so mysterious and tough. Anarka trusts her to keep her children and their friends (Juleka and Rose dating) safe. Ryuuko does not plan on letting her down, but with Luka? It's hard for our Lady in red black & gold to stay professional.

SongHeart & The Queen (Ryuuka's Beauty and The Beast AU)- Kim is Lumiere, Anarka as Maurice (great parents are great), Chloé and Sabrina as Gaston and LeFou (duh), Emilie and Adrien as Mrs Potts and Chip (need that adorable mother/son bond), Marinette is (a younger) Wardrobe (fashion girl!) and Luka's closest friend in the place. Luka is Belle and Ryuuko is the Beast. Instead of inanimate objects, they’re cursed to be akumas.

Scales and Whiskers AU- An AU where Ryuuko and Cat Noir fight over who gets to date Marinette. She eventually gets so sick of it that she just tells both of them to date her. Before she knows it, she’s got a superhero boyfriend and girlfriend.

Behind the Scenes AU- An AU where Miraculous actually is a show in the canon universe and the characters are all actors. Chloe and Rose are sisters from the South. Jagged, Marinette, and Kagami are siblings. Gabriel and Adrien are Uncle and Nephew, and Lila is Marinette’s best friend.

Akumavillian AU- An AU where everyone who has been akumatized has the ability to turn into their Akumas without the power of the Moth.

Cat’s Shipping Show AU- An AU where Cat Noir runs a blog dedicated to all the ships of Team Miraculous, because he’s shipper trash. He gives people the news on certain ships, and reviews ships as well.

Ghost Bug AU- An AU where the past Ladybug’s are attached to Marinette. They’re like her 24/7 Obi-Wan, and they’re a little Ladybug family. Turns out, everyone on Team Miraculous (plus Hawkmoth and Mayura) are in the same boat.

Sentibug AU- An AU where Bugette wasn’t destroyed by Mayura and instead becomes Ladybug and Cat Noir’s sidekick/daughter

Mom Pink AU- An AU where Pink appeared instead of Steven when his gem was taken out. Somehow they can both exist now and mother and son are reunited.

Adrien Universe AU- Steven Universe, but with Miraculous characters.

Momma Mayura AU- An AU where as soon as Stoneheart appeared, Nathalie grabbed the Peacock Miraculous and became Mayura. She fights on Ladybug and Cat Noir’s side to bring down Hawkmoth and quickly becomes the team mom.

Tales of Pegasus and King Monkey AU- An AU where Master Fu instead distributed the Horse and Monkey Miraculous and Kim and Max are the main characters of the show.

Chatroom AU- An AU where Team Miraculous has a group chat

Genderbend AU- An AU where everyone’s genders are swapped.

Teacher Kwamis AU- An AU where Miss Bustier is fired and the Kwamis take over teaching.

Frozen Dragons AU- A Hiccelsa AU that combines Frozen and How To Train Your Dragon. Basically, just before the events of Race To The Edge, Elsa and Hiccup have an arranged marriage and her, Olaf, Sven, Kristoff, and Anna are present for the events of the show and Dragons 2

Kumafeather AU- An AU where Max and Kim have the Moth and Peacock Miraculous and are trying to bring Max’s dad back. They call themselves Kuma and Dark Feather and are like that classic supervillain and dumb sidekick trope but they’re gay.

GrayBlue AU- An AU where Adrien and Marinette have the Moth and Peacock Miraculous and are trying to bring Emilie back. They call themselves Grayling and Beau Blue.

Mastermind Fu AU- An AU where Master Fu is evil and the Miraculass steal the Miracle Box to fight him.

Evil Miracuclass AU- An AU where the Miracuclass is evil and steals the Miracle Box. Master Fu must use the remaining Miraculous he has to fight them.

Marigod AU- An AU where Marinette and her parents are Gods.

Tangled Sisters AU- an AU where Cassandra grew up in the tower with Rapunzel and Varian is Flynn’s protege/adopted little brother. It’s be the same as the movie, just Cassarian, Aged Up!Varian of course, and the sister duo we deserve.

Apprentice AU- An AU where Master Fu was Emilie’s mentor. They have a father-daughter bond

Killer Princess AU- An AU where Juleka has the Moth and Rose has the Peacock

Timmy Dupain Cheng AU- An AU where Timmy (Sandboy) is Marinette’s foster brother and earns the Dog Miraculous under the name of Pup Fidele

Forbidden Love AU- An AU where Flynn is still a thief and Rapunzel is the ruler of Corona. The two of them have a little flirty to and fro, as he’s the most wanted theif in the kindgom and they both really dig each other but don’t want to admit it, not even to themselves. Lance is his sidekick and Kiera and Catalina are their young protégés. Meanwhile, Varian and Cass work under Raps. Cass as her royal adviser and personal bodyguard, and Varian’s her little brother and the royal alchemist.

Cousins AU- Inspired by the theory that Rapunzel, Elsa, and Anna are cousins. An AU where they were there to celebrate her birthday in Secret of the Sundrop and went with her and the gang to the Dark Kingdom! Sven, Kristoff, and Olaf tag along too, of course.

Twins AU- An AU where Marinette and Kagami are long lost twins

The Prince and The Pup AU- An AU where Prince Ali starts going to Marinette's school after falling for the heroine known as Chien De Guarde after his first encounter with her. What he doesn't know is that Chien De Guarde is Sabrina Raincomprix.

A hero’s journey aka Kara mentoring Nia

(pretend all of arrowverse is on one earth)

“So, what do you think?” Nia turned in her chair to look up at the hovering blonde.

“It’s good. It’s really good” Kara complimented the article. Because it really was good. The young reporter had a way with words, to say the least. “But... you see that last sentence?” Earning a nod from Nia, Kara continued, “it’s a bit...” Kara searched for a good word and finally settled on “ambiguous.”

“It may suggest that you’re biased.” Kara continued “And as you know, bias...”

“Is a reporter’s worst enemy” Nia finished. With a few clicks, she highlighted the sentence to edit later. “Anything else?” She asked

Kara looked through the article again and pointed out another thing “You have a leading question there. And, you know, leading questions...:

“Are a sign of bias” Nia interupted her. “I know. I’ll do better next time”

Kara squezed her arm lightly “Don’t worry. Besides those two things, the article is great”

“Really?”

“Really”

“The most important thing in a situation like this is making sure that all civilians are safe” Supergirl said, stopping the van with one hand and squishing a machine gun with the other.

“Got it. Civilians are a priority.” Dreamer nodded

“So, what would you do first?” Supergirl asked, crossing her arms

“Hey! Let go you bi-” One of the criminals yelled as he got out of the van

“Shush! I’m trying to teach protégé something. Plus, watch your language” Kara interupted him using her authorative Supergirl voice.

“Oh, I know! I would blast out his machine gun out of his hand and try to stop the van, but since you’ve already done that...I would...em...” Dreamer punched the guy in the face and then in his stomach. “I would do that��

“You could’ve used your powers, but sure” Supergirl shrugged,

Dreamer saw the other guy’s gun too late. He wasn’t aiming at them, no- that would be too simple. He shot at the crowd. Thankfully, Supergirl caught those bullets before they could do any damage. Dreamer used her powers to rip out his gun and knock him out. “Right, civilians first. Sorry”

Hearing sirens in the distance, Supergirl offered Dreamer a hand and said “Looks like you have another chance to prove yourself”, before flying off with her to the next crime scene.

“Great, they’ll never let us through” Nia sighed, seeing the crowd of reporters surrounding the politician.

“Just stick with me” Kara winked and started politely, but purposefully pushing through the crowd. Any disgrunted reporter seemed to forgive her the moment she flashed her megawatt smile and a thousand apologies spilled from her mouth. She was polite, yes, but the fact that none of these people could actually, physically stop her helped.

Within a minute, Nia found herself in the first line of reporters. And before she could even begin to fanthom how, the questions started and she had to pay attention.

“So, uh, what do we do in this situation?” Nia asked, shifting on the uncomfortable bench in one of the prison cells of Gotham City Police Department. “Do we call Alex? Or Lena?”

“If we call Alex we’ll never hear the end of this” Kara sighed, leaning against the crate “And I’m really not in the mood for a three hour lecture. Calling Lena also rules out. A Luthor paying the bail for two random reporters sounds suspicious, and I don’t want to cause her trouble”

“Good news! Somebody posted your bail” The police officer said as she let them out. Before Kara could ask who, Kate Kane appeared in the hallway.

“We have to stop meeting like this. A phone call would suffice” Kate said as she looked Kara up and down. “I dig the bangs, by the way”

Kara blushed lightly “I’m not the only one who got a new look. Don’t remember seeing this tatoo” she said and pointed to her forearm.

“I got two new tatoos, actually” Kate replied as she walked up to the blonde “But if you want to see the other one...” She pushed up Kara’s glasses with her finger “you’ll have to ask”

Kara turned red and frantically searched for words. Finally, she wrapped her arm around Nia, perhaps a bit to harshly, and replied “Uh, this is Nia. My protégé. I teach her about, um, reporting and stuff.”

Kate was about to answer, but a message came. She sighed and said “I’d love to spend more time with you two, but business calls. It was a pleasure meeting you, Nia.” And with that, she disappeared through the door.

“So if I understand correctly, in a situation where I’m locked up in the GCPD, I should wait for Kate Kane to save me and then proceed with a gay panic.” Nia said with a fake serious tone.

Kara glared playfully and shook her head “Just please don’t tell Alex about this”

“No promises”

“Kara!” Nia entered James’s office, finding James, Lena and Kara talking “Sorry to interupt, but” she lifted up her phone “I got an anonymous call telling me to drop the topic I’m working on or else”

“Did they use a voice modulator?” Kara asked as Lena and James looked worried.

“Yup! They made their voice all mad and sinister”

“Do you know what that means?

“That I hit jackpot!” Nia smiled. Seeing the worried expressions of Lena and James, she explained “It’s reporting 101 by Lois Lane. If you get anonymous threats or calls during an investigation, you’re on the right track. By the way, Kara, could you look over my last article?”

“Sure” Kara replied, and with that, they left the office, leaving a worried Lena and James behind.

“Looks like I’m going to have a little chat with Lois Lane” Lena said, a hint of threat in her voice.

“Trust me, there’s no convincing Lois Lane that her working habits are bad. I tried and failed” James answered

“Maybe it didn’t work when you did it” Lena replied “but then again, you’re not a worried Luthor”

Supergirl and Dreamer stood in front of a tied up gang member. Supergirl had her arms on her hips in her classic pose. Nia was standing next to her, imitating her pose.

“You see, the best thing you could do now is just tell us everything” Supergirl replied. When he stayed silent, she sighed and crossed her arms. Noticing that, Nia moved and crossed her arms as well. “Can I try?” Nia asked. After earning a nod from the Girl of Steel, she moved closer to the criminal.

“Listen up. Tell us what you know or Supergirl will burn two holes in your head” Dreamer threatened. “Actually, I won’t” Supergirl rushed to correct her.

“Yeah, ok. So tell us what you know or I’ll kill you” Dreamer tried again.

“You won’t, Dreamer. We really have to work on your threats.” Supergirl shook her head. “Drop it to like a six”

With a nod, Dreamer tried again “Tell us what you know or else”

Nia still had a lot to learn, but hey, at least she got the best mentor there is.
