"Ah, Lady Julia!" Forsyth is thankfully able to intercept her between classes; he'd feel embarrassed to have to knock on her door. This has already been quite a goose chase, but he wishes to get to the bottom of it! "You entered the winter gift exchange, yes? Your mother tells me she thinks you may be the person who gifted me this volume."

He presents the tome to her carefully, handing her the letter separately. Has the mystery finally been solved?

"Hm, I have seen this tome before but I'm afraid I'm not the one who gifted it you. It's definitely something I've seen upon the shelves of the palace library before though. May I take a closer look?" Julia takes the weighty volume in her hands, examining the cover, the binding for clues. The most obvious one appears to be printed on the front. Weissritter. Julia chuckles in delight. Oh, even he was prone to such sentimentality. She can’t stop grinning, knowing how even Julius was not nearly as above it all as he liked to believe. "I think I know who might have given this to you though. If I'm wrong, I'm surprised they knew of this book let alone where to find it."

"My brother, Julius. His paramour Lady Ishtar heads the Weissritter," she smiles playfully, handing it back. "It's rather cute, actually. I hope the gift aids you in your pursuit of knighthood, Sir Forsyth the True."

The gift is a simple one, wrapped in plain parchment and a single string of red-dyed twine. Within is a leather-bound book with an embossed title: Weissritter: Guardian of the Crown, with the subtitle ‘A Brief History of Grannvale’s Seven Ritters.’ Wrinkles spider along its spine and the pages, though all intact, are yellow at the corners and delicate. It is a few decades old, at least, and hand-written in a steady, beautiful script. Likely a manuscript that remains one of its kind to this day.

Between the pages hides a small slip of paper, like a forgotten bookmark. A message is inked on it in letters that appear deliberately plain, as if the author does not expect the recipient to be able to read the calligraphy of a more learned hand.

“The heart of a true knight cannot be swayed by material bribes but shall you one day find yourself without a house to serve, seek the honor of the rising schwarzritter.”

What a stunning gift; whoever decided Forsyth should be entrusted with such an incredible codex is generous indeed. He carefully skims the pages, catching sight of complex military illustrations and instruction, detailed accounts of battles--it's truly everything he'd ever want in a book, and he doubts there's more than one of these in the world.

Who would be so generous? Who would gift a knight of Valentia such a detailed history of their land? The note provides some context; it is someone who trusts Forsyth's integrity as a knight, so much so that they would give him a people to serve were he ever to lose Valentia, Mila forbid.

Seek the honor of the rising schwarzritter...

Grannvale. That at least is familiar--Forsyth knows someone from Grannvale. Its princess, actually. She is amicable and kind, willing to share much with a commoner like himself and bridging gaps in a way that gives him hope for the land she presides over. He is not sure, but she is the only lead he has!

"Lady Deirdre!" Forsyth hails her, cradling the tome carefully in his hands. He does not wish for harm to befall it, but it feels apt to show it to her. If she was the gifter, the mystery is solved. If not, than she is Grannvale's princess, and may have an idea of who the real gifter is! It's a foolproof plan. Really, he's gotten good at tactics, if he does say so himself. "Was it you who gifted me this incredible book for the anonymous exchange?"

Fake screenshots and design stuff for AUing Delta-9 into a Super Robot Wars setting for a game a friend is running. They’re still a mostly-machine cyborg, but are keeping it on the down-low with the full body suit and helmet. Their mech is a custom Gespenst in the same vein as the Alt Eisen and Weissritter, the Hagelsturm, fitted out with an anti-materiel rifle and an irresponsible amount of missiles.

There was no doubt from anyone, anywhere across the realm that he had indeed inherited the Gift of Kings.

                   And yet he still absolutely lost his shit over the idea of his kid brother mucking around in his room.

                   Some things were simple universal constants, it would seem. It did not matter how imposing or intimidating or hard working Arvis was. Back behind closed doors, hidden away in the halls in Castle Velthomer, the sorcerer still ran through the empty corridors of his home with his hair disheveled and his robes askew, the wrinkled, burnt remains of what looked to be a stack of letters clutched in his fists.

                   "AZELLE!!”

                   He bellowed the name, face flushed as he stuck his head into the kitchens. No sight of his brother, still.

                   "Where are you??!! I know you went into my bedroom!! Were you trying to take my spellbooks to practice with again??!! You set half the day’s work on fire!!”

Ultraman and Iron-Blooded Orphans Join Super Robot Wars 30

  Crossover tactical mecha anniversary game Super Robot Wars 30 is sliding a few more announcements in just under the wire. Besides a new long trailer with more eye-candy attacks, we've also got the line-up for this winter's second DLC pack!

  DLC2 will let you add units from Mobile Suit GUNDAM Iron-Blooded Orphans and Production I.G's 3DCG Ultraman series to your party. Two more Original Generations will also be joining the brawl: Kyosuke Nanbu in the Alteisen Riese, and Excellen Browning in the Rein Weissritter.

  See them all in action:

    DLC2, like DLC1, will also include 13 new area missions.

  Bandai Namco recently confirmed that DLC1 — including units from Sakura Wars, Voltes V, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children — would be available globally. So, while we don't have confirmation that this one will be, it's at least highly likely.

  There's also one last trailer — over eight minutes long — showing off attack cut scenes, conversations between characters, and JAM Project's latest theme for the franchise:

    Super Robot Wars 30 comes out worldwide on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam for PC on October 28.

A (bad) crack concept: The reason why only Excellen can use the Rein Weissritter despite it being altered to just "the Einst put Einsty parts on it, but it's not Einst" is because the inside of the cockpit is covered top to bottom in Einst tentacles, and only Excellen is crazy enough to go in there.

A "fun" initiation game the Steel Dragons (read: Excellen) like to play when they get newcomers is to test if any of them are dumb enough willing to step inside.
