did cas really tell dean to kneel before their new god? did that actually happen? i thought him beating the shit out of dean in that alley was the most unrestrainedly horny thing this show had ever done ACTUALLY you know what scratch that new question: top horny moments from the cw's supernatural (2005 - 2020)
getting this ask feels like my sins of the last week have been weighed against the Trials I Have Gone Through since the premier of supernatural on the wb in september of 2005 and I’m not sure if it is a punishment or reward
some notes before we begin:
the ep with dean’s male siren was like, conceptually horny but not actually that horny because the dude was uglie. I’m sorry to this man
all you sam girls out there. I respect you but I do not respect jared padalecki who is JUST tall and has zero sex appeal. but those eps where he’s like, drinking ruby’s blood and then eating her pussy are. you know. I’ll give you that
I am ONLY UP TO SEASON 10 so fair warning this is not comprehensive but the horniness does seem to drop off sharply after the mark of cain is no longer in play lol gotta love a good demon murder tattoo plot
this is easily the most insane thing I’ve ever done, including the destiel manifesto
S1 EP12: the scene where dean gets healed by the faith healer, on his knees with a hand in his hair and looking somewhere between religious ecstasy, brain death and an orgasm. starting this list off great
S1 EP22: azazel possessing john winchester. no I will not explain further if u know u know <3
S3 EP10: dean being taunted by a dream version of himself, this is where we first got the daddy’s blunt little instrument line. still burned in my hippocampus a good 13 years later thank yew
S4 EP1: dean crawling out of his own grave covered in grave dirt. hot. the HANDPRINT. HOT. also tangent but this reveal after the s3 finale was WILD back in 2008 I hollered in my dorm room after canvassing for obama. simpler times man
S4 EP 1: cas’ intro scene. the barn. the shadow wings. the hair??? getting stabbed in the chest by the man you just pulled out of hell. getting aaaallll up in that personal space. his little eyebrow. “you don’t think you deserve to be saved.” OUTRAGEOUSLY FLAMING
S4 EP02: “I dragged you out of hell I can throw you back in.” <<< this angel tops. mark dean down as scared and horny etc
S4 EP16: this ENTIRE EPISODE but specifically the part where dean tortures alastair as some kind of foreplay and then alastair kicks his ass. carved you into a new animal. jesus.
S4 EP16: wait I forgot about the part where cas also gets his ass kicked and looks all....hm. dazed and covered in blood while he’s on his knees and about to die. yeah.
S5 EP4: I mean this entire ep is unfairly horny considering everyone is dying of a zombie plague and hasn’t showered in like, 4 years but if I had to pick one hmmm. the dean/dean interrogation scene with the panty kink yeah I know it’s not original but hm. it happened. also misha collins just being able to convey that CAS IS A FLEXIBLE SLUT with a single roll of his shoulders. who SAYS this man can’t act!!!!!
S5 EP18: the ALLEY SCENE. DEAN DOESN’T FIGHT BACK. CAS HOLDS HIM UP OFF THE GROUND AND THEN THROWS HIM ACROSS THE ALLEY. WHY DID EVERYONE THINK CAS COULDN’T TOP. you all had brainworms.
S5 EP18: when cas locks dean in the panic room to stop him from saying yes to michael and “well cas not for nothing but the last person who looked at me like that I got laid” I hate this show. wait I think the blow me cas line is in this episode too what the fuck were they on here
S6 EP5: the scene where dean gets turned into a vampire. between the old dude who I think calls dean a pretty boy (??) and soulless sam....watching??? no ******* but there were just some absolutely foul energies in that scene and I still do not understand WHAT they were thinking
S6 EP20: cas doing a double smite on two demons by slamming them to the ground and then shoving another demon back in its vessel and then smiting him in the same motion. TOP. ENERGY.
S6 EP22: season 6 is possibly cas’ horniest season because he’s like, going through angel puberty after getting his first boner for dean, but the final cas eps are. whoof. cas eats a bunch of souls and proclaims himself to be a new god in order to handle said boner, and then the season ends with cas telling them to bow down and profess their love to him, their new lord, or he will destroy them. note: the way this is framed makes it look like cas is only staring at dean while he says this, even though sam and bobby are also there. the season ends with dramatic zooms on both cas and dean’s faces respectively. this made me actively regret ditching this show after s5 lol
S8 EP??: literally EVERY SINGLE PURGATORY FLASHBACK. cas dean and benny are all purgatory hot in the “pop 10 cranberry pills and risk the UTI” kind of way but also. dean being the hot girl bottom between two tops who hate each other. I really. whew. I need to go take a shower.
S8 EP17: if I get canceled for including the crypt scene on this list I blame you bud. but dean on his knees begging a brainwashed cas to stop killing him WAS sexy. how many times has dean been on his knees in this list wait there’s another one coming up next jsldjfsldkjf
S9 EP2: abaddon getting dean on his knees (YEAH) and pulling his hair and praising him for always coming when called HELLO???? the only thing that ruins this is dean says “I can’t tell if we’re gonna fight or make out” because this is the CW and they won’t let him say fuck
S9 EP6: ah. this entire episode is Emotionally Horny but the horny horny part is when they’re in the car and dean is telling cas to unbutton his shirt and. watches. I know this was on my destiel manifesto but I need it here too
S9 EP9: cas, covered in blood, slitting another angel’s throat and eating his grace after getting tortured. that shot alone made me understand why this website was so goddamn horny for misha collins for nearly a damn decade
S9 EP11: MARK OF CAIN BABEY. cain watching dean beat up a bunch of demons as an audition for taking on the mark, while crowley also is a fucking voyeur to the whole thing. cain is also a hot silver fox with daddy energies. I said what I said
S9 EP 16: dean getting the first blade. he’s chained to a pillar and being menaced by a foppish dandy who wants to add him to his “collection” (WOW). dean then kills him with the blade and whew. murder is sexy sometimes
S9 EP21: dean being pinned against a wall by abaddon’s power, then using the mark of cain to break her hold, calling the first blade to him psychically and then killing her. god the mark of cain is hot
S9 EP23: dean waking up with the demon eyes NUT
S10 EP2: demon dean beating up that dude with the boring backstory and kicking his ass. really was a go on baby I got your flower moment because I hated that dude and I love demon dean
S10 EP3: demon dean being chained up and taunting sam about how his brother is gone, then hunting sam through the bunker. demon dean in general was VERY fun for me, someone who loves trash
S10 EP9: dean going berserk and killing a bunch of pedophile rapists/child abusers. I’m sorry I know this show is trying to preach morality at me about monsters and unnecessary murder and humanity or whatever but we blew past that like 8 SEASONS AGO. also the mark of cain is sexy
S10 EP14: the rest of this list is really gonna be mark of cain stuff isn’t it look I’m here to have fun. cain and dean’s fight. cain continuously tossing his mane of hair back and taunting dean with the picture of what he’s going to become, who he’s going to kill. dean begging cain to tell him that he can stop, and then ultimately killing him. rip daddy.
S11 EP4: again I have not watched this however. every shot of this episode is PRESTIGE TELEVISION because driving a muscle car is sexy. and especially the shot of dean all beat to hell and begging his car to start and giving her a little kiss from his fingers to her dash. ugh. masculinity.
S12 EP10: the bearded salt-and-pepper daddy look returns, only it’s an angel this time and he’s wearing a vest and shirtsleeves and he swordfights with a hot redheaded lady in a suit and an eyepatch. this show is good sometimes!!! and oh fuck lol I just realized this is the same guy who played krissy’s hot hunter dad in s7 probably the first guy who’s hotter as an angel than a hunter. huh.
S12 EP 11: dean riding larry the mechanical bull to “broomstick cowboy.” I have no idea where this factors into the ep but I have seen. the youtube clip
S13 EP23: from what I can tell s13 is way more emotionally horny than boner horny, although dean burning cas’ body was sexy. but the horniest part was dean saying yes to michael and then michael taking over and saying “thanks for the suit.” we are going to ignore the silliest fight scene in existence as well as the final shot ending on a FREEZE FRAME like a goddamn tiktok
S14: not gonna pick a specific moment because I have not watched yet!!! but michael dean is hot. idk why michael is weirdly hot and I cannot stand any iteration of lucifer on this television programme. it should be the reverse but I’m forever an older sibling stan apparently. someone who is catholic could probably explain this better.
S15 EP13: genevieve padalecki and danneel ackles fight flirting as ruby and anael I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY HELD OUT ON THIS TILL THE LAST SEASON
I know I am missing things but this is already an absolutely incomprehensible screed. I know I’m missing shit from the latter seasons but give me time I’m pacing myself

I'm also excited but also a little bit sad because I still think it will be over after s3. And i dont need s4 with new students. When will you start posting about s3 because of spoilers. Not everybody can bing watch all episodes.
Same Nonny, same!!!!
While on one hand I can't wait for s3 and believe me I have always been excited for it since it was clear that we would get a 3rd season and they have finished shooting at the end of september. Thankfulkt leaving us with a bit of spoilers thanks to some pics and inbetween with some more and then when they have started to publish at first the character teaser + promo pics and then a bit later the promo photoshooting pics...
God, when I saw Malick with Nadia and Omar, I was like: What? Please. No.😩
Then the promo poster with blood on Guzman - that was when I slightly started to panic that he is probably going to die 😭 - only to feel a bit better after the trailer and teaser - oh and the interviews of the cast. So yes, I'm utterly enthusiastic as you can see and excited to find out what happened to Polo, if we will get some needed answers and especially for all Guznadia scenes. Let them only be a few seconds long, I'm here for all of it!!! ❤
On the other hand I'm a bit sad myself.
I try not to cause I don't want to ruin s3 for me, by getting sad over a potential last season  before I haven't watched s3 and the end of the this season cause so far we always had an open ending and although this time, we were told that we would get an epilogue (normally that's a way to end a story), everybody is only focusing on how they will graduate at the end, how their school time and therefore their time at Las Encinas will be over... so it would make sense to end that part of the story with an epilogue to show us what the kids are up to in their future.
The truth is: I have no idea if we will get another season or not 🤔.
But what I'm sure of is that neither the rumours of a greenlit s4 + 5 and a new cast are true.
So I was trying to remember how it was after s1, what I read about it (I have started to watch Élite far later than October) and then after it was clear that there would be a 2nd season etc.
And this brings me to, that except when we were told that there would be 3rd season on that press conference for s2, Netlfix Spain has never been very communicative about Élite as Netflix and any of their ... mostly use to be.
For example:
It was season ones open ending that was giving us hope and lead us to belive that they would hopefully going to continue the story.
At the end it took them weeks (or more) after they have published amazing numbers of more than 20 million views for s1 and ten thousands of asks if there would be a s2, before they annoced the 2nd season.
In truth they have greenlit both s2 +3 and the cast was already having the scripts in November to be able to start the table reads at the end of November/ begining of December.
Also Georgina, Claudia and Jorge have been cast.
So was it always planed that Élite would have 3 season? Why not telling us then? Neither about the planed 3 seasons (Dark, Baby, The Rain have all announced to have only 3 seasons) or that they would shoot the 2 seasons one after another?
Why not telling us now that Élite is over?
And if that's the case. Why the amount of press work for a finished series after the bit of press work they did for s2 was enough? Élite s2 had the same amount of viewers, 20 million and a huuuge boost in popularity.
And aside from all of that. For me it was always all about the story. I have said it many times before: I don't think they can solve everything in 8 episodes.
And I would love to continue to watch their journey and interestingly being asked about a potential 4th season after they have announced the 3rd one, bkth showrunners said that they have plenty ideas to continue the story!
So, I have no idea what to think???
Sorry for my extrem long rent 😶 but I wanted to write a post about getting a s4 or not anyway.
Oh and due to the fact that I will be working in home office, I will be able to bing s3 on Friday and post about it. Of course I will tag everything as #elite s3 spoilers 😊!!!!

Taekwonsonen’s tweets, a key animator from Studio Mir who worked on Voltron
> Twitter thread can be found here
Translation:
“After talking with a fan who honestly liked the show to the end, I thought about whether VLD was really that terrible enough to be spat on, with cool head.
I’m an animator. Not every animator likes what they’re working on. Some don’t even recognize what they worked on. If an animation is like a house, then animator is the one who does bricklaying. You can be proud of having made this house, but this house belongs to the designer.
Still, as a brick layer who built a house called Voltron, I am so proud and thankful of the series. Maybe if I hadn’t known anyone who cried and laughed along with the series, I wouldn’t be, but I’ve met people who thanked me personally, for laying the bricks. So I love this “house”, even though it isn’t mine.
So, if you ask me, if this house’s finishing touch is feeble, weird, and ‘the worst thing that ever happened’, especially compared to the magnificent, beautiful start, then yes. I agree completely.
But that ‘finishing touch’ is not a little thing. To me, every single brick of the last season is very upsetting. Everything else is good. No, everything else is wonderfully compatible and done very well.
But one small brick has such a different color with everything else, it’s disrupting the whole thing. It’s pulling out every little errors, even the ones I hadn’t noticed before, out in the open. Once again, this is only my opinion.
TBH, if I start rewatching the series from s1 and pick out little bits I don’t like, of course there will be. It’s only that they were so well made, even the errors looked compatible. Actually, I enjoyed watching season 8 to the end. Everyone tried their best and I sent lots of loves and thankyous to the creators. I want to make something like that. I wanted to make something like this, not only as a brick layer but as a designer too. I love this series so much.
The last brick shocked me so much, but still, at that point, I was like ‘that’s disappointing... but without it, it’s ok. They should’ve left it with open ending.’
Then I started talking with other fans, the people who loved and adored Voltron, the one who had high expectation of it. And I started agreeing with the. Yes. They are right. And I still think they are right. Passionate fans didn’t anything that isn’t true.
But on the other hand, is it okay to spit so much like this on the designer who didn’t know this last piece was going to fit so wrongly with the whole series? Maybe. You do you.”

let’s just leave this here
so let’s see how quickly I can get through a bunch of these, just so they don’t languish for the next month... here we go. behind the cut:  why the opening never changed, why DW is deploying Josh again, a few about Iverson & Hedrick, is a reboot possible, staying in fandom vs leaving... and some others in the same vein.
why did they keep the same opening for all of vld seasons, considering the line-up was never supposed to come back to the original from s3?
Every indication is that originally, the team would return to the original lineup. Keeping the opening was probably meant to remind audiences of that inevitability. Or you could believe LM, who said the opening cost 20K to make, and thus was too expensive to do more than once. She’d rather spend that money on a vacation.
So I've heard that Josh Keaton is doing damage control for S8. Do you think Dreamworks sent him in because they know that he's the one guy that no one can get mad at? After what some of the fans have done to him this past year [...] I’m amazed that he's willing to stick around and try to make his fans happy for as long as he can. I can see why people say "We don't deserve him."
Josh has somehow managed that sweet spot between charming the fandom and gaining its trust. Doesn’t hurt that he’s got the chops, voice-wise, to take written dross (no, really, some of those lines are horribly clunky) and spin it into gold. More than anything else, he comes across as genuine, and that adds a certain credibility to his words.
But... Josh doesn’t really have a choice. Playing Shiro is what catapulted Josh upwards, and the last thing he can afford to do is piss off DW by refusing to play ball. He’d only be damaging himself (and his reputation among potential employers) if he didn’t snap to attention when called. Plus, I think he really does sincerely love the character, but it’s got to be a tough spot for him right now.
When you get down to it, the only one on VLD’s (former) staff who seems to believe Shiro belongs in the story and should be respected as part of the story... is Josh. Who else can Shiro’s fans look to, if Josh stops speaking?
So, yeah, Josh is it. And I bet he knows that, and knows it’s just part of signing up for such a major role. This is part of his job.
So I came across a pic of Mitch Iverson from SDCC 2018 where he and Tim Hedrick weren't in the panel ... and [Iverson] was wearing a SHIRO BLACK PALADIN top ... while the EPs & Hamilton were in the panel promoting S7, Iverson supported Hedrick & his story, and Shiro.
Hedrick was actively involved in every script as the story editor, and reportedly conceived of Shiro as an astronaut returning after his capture by aliens. Iverson got his start thanks to Hedrick, thus it makes sense that Iverson would be simpatico with Hedrick’s vision of the story.
On top of that, by SDCC Iverson already had his next gig lined up. He continued to write for VLD, so he had to be subtle... but a t-shirt was a good way to make his sentiments clear. Can’t blame the guy, seeing he probably knew what was coming and chose a quiet protest of his own.
As an American, how would you take it if someone, that is, Iverson, called himself a redneck? From what I know thats derogatory term & for people not exactly inclusive & supportive of minorities. He also retweeted an art of Allura with a quote: ‘Laters’, which I found in really poor taste...
Redneck is another slur adopted by the in-group. My guess is that if you called Iverson a redneck to his face, he’d be offended. But if you introduced yourself as a redneck, and then called him one, it’d be different. And yes, as a term, redneck has a complex history, and it changes subtly in terms of how each generation defines/uses it.
As for retweeting things in poor taste... eh, most people don’t have any training in social media. Jokes are the hardest; it’s so easy for them to go so wrong. Until VLD, I’d bet Iverson was lucky to have a few hundred followers. How many follow him now? It takes time to find your footing in striking the right balance of humor and dignity.
Sometimes the best course is to ignore the stumble. They’ll either learn, or they won’t. Either way, it’s their problem, not ours.
Will Tim Hedrick be allowed to continue the voltron universe the way he planned it?
I doubt it. He’s got a new project. If you’re now an EP finally getting your name at the top, would you really want to go back and fix someone else’s story? Sometimes it’s just better to leave it behind, and make sure the next thing you do is something you can have pride in.
...why do you keep saying the last episode Tim Hedrick wrote was The Feud? A lot of people keep repeating it, like it was his last 'fuck you' to the showrunners. But official sources all say 'The Journey Within' was his last episode.
All we can say for certain was that tJW is the last Hedrick episode broadcast. That doesn’t mean it was the last one written.
Here’s why a lot of us peg tF as Hedrick’s last written episode: the story editor credit. Hedrick's the sole story editor on all his other episodes; tF is the only one in which both Hedrick and Hamilton share credit. The simplest explanation is this episode was edited in that window during which Hedrick had one foot out the door, and Hamilton had one foot in. iow, Hedrick put it into the queue, edited half, and moved on. Ergo, last written.
I can’t believe how they just managed to anger literally everyone no matter your favorite character or ship.
I recall a quote from early on, where LM said they had a feeling they couldn’t please everyone. The problem (which I noted at the time, and has remained true) is that the answer isn’t to just piss off everyone.
It’s to figure out who you want your audience to be, and to write the best damn story you can for that particular audience. If you end up with a story only old-timer DotU fans love, and kids are lukewarm about, fine. If the reverse is true, fine. You can’t please everyone, especially in a reboot/remake. So you pick your battles, and write your story accordingly.
Looking around social media, most people I'm seeing are either rightfully upset, or they're hyperfocusing on the one single scene they liked because they just don't have the energy to deal with the show's bullshit right now. How can they fuck up the last season so badly that it seems like the general reaction is disappointment and denial?
I think there’s a common cause for the fandom reactions: exhaustion.
In American broadcast television, a 26-episode season runs from September to May, then a summertime lull, during which people digest and discuss. Binge-watching is changing this, but it seems one thing hasn’t changed: no matter how fast we watch a show, we still require processing time.
What did we get? A half-season, two months’ break, another half-season, two months’ break, a full season, three months’ break, and a final full season. If every season had provoked a spike equal to S1/S2, we might’ve been begging DW by June to just freaking chill. Fandom had barely begun to process one season and a new one was already landing on our heads.
On top of that, S3-S6 weren’t exactly walks in the part, post-release. In terms of controversy, S7 dwarfed them all. That made an awful lot of people (across the entire spectrum, from almost every sub-group in the fandom) disengage. Those who remained dialed back on their expectations (”as long as X happens, that’s all that matters”), or they hung in there, insistent it would turn out alright.
So either you’re exhausted from not being able to fully disengage with the final season still in the wings, you’re exhausted from convincing yourself this one specific thing would be enough, or you’re exhausted from defending what turned out to be indefensible.
Frankly, disappointment and denial is a fairly soft landing, compared to what might’ve been. But any way you cut it, the fandom’s worn the hell out.
Do you think LM and JDS are gonna address this or are they just going to ignore the complaints, wash their hands and move on?
They don’t need to do anything. They don’t work for DW anymore. If someone has to address the complaints, it’d be DW or DW’s chosen spokesperson. I guess you could call that washing their hands, but the simple fact is they’re not on the payroll. They’re not responsible for VLD anymore.
do you think it's possible for dreamworks to rewrite season 8? i've never heard of a show doing that before and i'm afraid that we'll be stuck with what we got, but damn, i really hope that we will get to see the characters get the endings they deserve, if nothing else.
I’m not sure why anyone would bother. S7 was rife with problems; S3-S6 meandered back and forth. If I were to do a soft in-series reboot, I’d go back to the end of S2. That’s the clearest break, story-wise.
But if you’re going backwards 50+ episodes to the 26th, just keep going and start over. More to the point: not a lot of creators would sign on to inherit problems not of their own making. Same reason new directors on a property will want to rework the script in some way (if not start over from scratch).
Do you think this is truly the end of Voltron: Legendary Defender? I know that a lot of the cast and crew wanted to continue on with a sequel, and there's so many possibilities and things they can do in that universe, not to mention that Voltron is (or rather, was) a money bank...
Your guess is as good as mine, really. Hopefully we’ll get at least hints when the SACanime panel rolls around in early January.
There's a change petition for the "original s8" to be released ... [people] believe that LM and JDS are NOT the ones who ruined the last two seasons and that it was "exec meddling." Like, no, sorry, exec meddling appears to be what made it good in the beginning.
If we consider Yoo an exec by virtue of being CEO of Studio Mir, then I kinda wish he’d meddled a bit more.
...I'm wondering if the original version exists, completed. In one post, you said DW picked Tim over L/J so surely that got animated? What do you think? Be real. I don't want to get my hopes high thinking there's some buried treasure out there to find.
Ah, no, sorry, I wasn’t speaking in the sense of VLD but in the overall corporate sense. Here’s how the scenario often plays out: manager A and employee B do not get along. The longer they clash, the greater the chance A will find an excuse to fire B. The project is literally not big enough for the both of them.
B could resign, quit, or do a preemptive strike: go over A’s head and ask for help. If B leaves the company shortly after, it means the higher-up said: “I’ve heard A’s side, and I think A is right.” The exec might offer a good reference, or blame it on a no-fault bad fit. Doesn’t matter; the exec’s chosen A’s side.
Now, consider what actually happened: B gets transferred off the project, and gets a major promotion -- basically up to the same level as B’s former manager. Either B has some of the most amazing dirt ever, is phenomenally good at twisting reality to seem like the wronged party... or the higher-up reviewed the situation and decided that of the two, B was the one worth keeping.
Having decided that, the exec made an offer B couldn’t refuse, which would be to run a show that’s practically tailor-made to fit B’s dream job. That’s what I meant by losing the battle (how VLD would go) and winning the war (being the party seen as in the right, by the execs).
The only way for A to turn things around is to have a blisteringly successful final product. It could literally kill two careers with one stone: the (former) employee, B, who spun such a good story, and the exec(s) who believed B.
Given the numbers I’m seeing for S8... that exec did choose wisely.
ETA (sorry forgot this part): There might be pieces, but it really depends on what version control is in use (if any). For that matter, even if there were saved copies, who’s to say those didn’t get, whoops, deleted at some point? I’d put my bet on there being nothing, now, except what we got. Sorry.
I could understand if you never want to have anything to do with this show ever again.
Oh, jeez, I was here before VLD and I’ll be here after. Once we all get over our mutual exhaustion (and the holidays, bloody great timing, there), it’ll be time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. Fandom’s got a lot to do, putting things back together in all the shapes that’ll make us happy. This is the best time to be in a fandom, if you ask me. Everything’s just getting started!

Aqours Rankings
As the final curtains draw on the story of Aqours and Uranohoshi, it’s time for these damn rankings.
Unlike Muse, who I have a grand total of ONE disliked character (guess who), I really don’t hate Aqours at all. They are all lovable, their Seiyuus are outright wonderful, and their voices sound very pristine tbh. Aqours made their own path away from Muse’s path and that’s why they earned to win Love Live!. Therefore, please no hate!
Now lets get started...
9. Sakurauchi Riko. Ah Riko... I know that I am going to get some hate for putting Riko last, but she was in 8th place when I finished Season 1 of Sunshine to be fair. However the biggest moment where Riko gets condemned to the basement of Aqours was Episode 5, where I really didn’t see any real development of Riko. The recently released Episode 13 didn’t help matters at all. To be fair, if I had to label Riko with one word, it would be Plainness. HOWEVER! Being plain isn’t bad at all! Chika sees herself to be pretty plain and she is still fantastic. And you know what, if you see Riko as being more than plain, I won’t blame you! Riko is very beautiful althroughout and if you have her as your best girl, I won’t make you feel bad. I just don’t see her as interesting as everyone else.
8. Watanabe You. Oof... This one was a very difficult choice since the last two episodes made me think about the rankings between #3 to #8. I did say with Riko that the scene with her and You didn’t help matters, but it definitely didn’t help matters with Yousoro. The scene itself was very inconsiderate since it’s so wedged in between very heavy stuff from Aqours’ winning Love Live to leaving Uranohoshi for the last time. I love You and will still love her even if she is in 8th spot, but that RikoYou scene killed it due to inappropriate insertion. If that scene was held off until a bit more later after all the crying parts, You would be much much higher. And yes, it was really that close between #3 and #8. Sadly, producer oversight put Yousoro in the 8th position. In terms of Seiyuus, though, Shuuka is one of my all time favorites.
T6. Kunikida Hanamura. Zura! Hanamaru really pulled some through, especially in the final episode. However, her hilarity kept her being consistent despite being somewhere below the halfway mark. She always keeps Yoshiko in check and her “zuras” are as adorable in Season 2 as they are in Season 1. Kin-chan did a good job with her here and it’s sad that we only have the movie to hear the zuras. However, the biggest dealbreaker was the Dub version of S2E4. “Right Girlfriend?” absolutely killed me and my gay heart and I’m pretty sure many people thought DiaMaru was real at that point! XD
T6. Tsushima Yoshiko. Despite falling a bit since Season 1, I still enjoyed the Great Fallen Angel’s presence. The reason why she fell since S1 was her relegation to a bit of a meme status in S2. Of course, she did get her time at numerous points, specifically E5, she still didn’t break through as much as she did in S1. Regardless of her falling (lol get it?), I still enjoyed Yohane a lot and she did well for being the first Chuuni in Love Live! Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE AIKYAN’S VOICE. I don’t like Guilty Kiss compared to others, but I cannot deny that Aikyan is probably Aqours’ best singer.
5. Ohara Mari. All in all, the most improved girl. I didn’t really feel comfortable with Mari and, before Season 2 started, she was dead last. But, it all started to change in very first episode, with her conflict with her family, specifically her father (males aren’t dead in LLSS after all!). Since then, Mari slowly became more and more of a likable character to me, but the deal breaker that made her such an improvement was in Episodes 7 and 11. Those episodes were those when Mari felt worthless because she couldn’t do anything else to keep the school open and I don’t blame her since it was something out of her own control. Needless to say, I didn’t care about Mari in S1, but I liked her more and more in S2 and she locks in at 5th place.
4. Kurosawa Dia. Oh boy, this is going to be great. Dia was mid-tier at most for me, but back in Season 1, I knew that while I have another girl as my best girl, I would rather marry Dia (at least not in an arranged marriage or something) since she is a very hardworking individual. 13 more episodes and not much has changed, but more and more of her character seeped in this season and she had A LOT of funny moments. From the entirety of Episode 4 (and watch the dub of Episode 4, it’s HILARIOUS and super gay) to Episode 9 (”BU BUUUUUUUUUU DESSUUUUU WA!!!”). She is such a goddess, yet she can still be a dork. Also speaking of being dorky, I love Arisha a whole bunch and it’s because she is probably as dorky as Dia is sometimes. XD
3. Kurosawa Ruby. Aside from Mari, Ruby is another huge mover since Season 1. I started to love Ruby more since her duet with Dia came out during the summer (though I still prefer No More September Rain). And when Season 2 came out, it was fated as if Ruby was going to get more and more development. She does embroidery and even helps You out! Aiai is improving so much on her voice! RUBY HAS A LEGIT FUCKING CENTER! BUT NOT ONE, BUT TWO AND THEY BOTH SOUND GODLY! The only issue I had with Ruby was that she only talks with her fellow first years and Leah (who is also a First Year I think). But with an era coming to an end, I could say that Ruby improved a lot during her time with Aqours and I feel as if she would get much stronger as a person from here on out. Same goes to Aiai as well. Well deserving of 3rd place.
But now...
The top two...
You probably know who is in my top two already. But what you don’t know is that I had a VERY HARD TIME trying to decide who is my best girl after both seasons. They both had been my best girls since Season 1 started and they cemented that at the end of that season.
But, after a long while around Episode 6 (with confirmation by the end of Season 2), I decided to give them a joint placement as my best girls of Aqours (and probably the best girls of Love Live in general)...
T1. Takami Chika and Matsuura Kanan. What can I say? These girls drew me in from the start though they weren’t my best girls at the start of Season 1. However, it all changed by the time of S1E9′s release that I started to love them more. After Season 1 ended, my love for these two girls intensified with their duet, “No more September Rain” (hands down my FAVORITE LL duo/trio track ever and even better than Soldier Game in my opinion!). And by the time Season 2 started, I knew that it would be a battle for first position. I just didn’t realize how much it would be difficult with Sunrise making me have more reasons to love both of them. Whenever something else good about Kanan appears, another one appears for Chika and vice versa. Episode 6 was my second favorite episode in Season 2 behind Episode 4, but it still has a place in my heart. It shows how much Kanan cares for Chika as much as she cares for Mari and it also shows how desperate and determined Chika is to be rid of her ordinary shell despite everyone else seeing otherwise. When Chika nailed that near impossible trick (#PrayForAnchan) and those tears shed from Kanan’s eyes, that alone made me fall for these two even more (and is also the reason why I actually prefer MIRACLE WAVE over My Mai Tonight). Since then, I continued to love Chika and Kanan a lot all the way until Episode 13, when I decided that these two are both great in their own rights. How much these two improved on from last season made my day and it was one of the many highlights of LLSS Season 2 in general. And what else could I say about the Seiyuu? Anchan is one of the better singers in Aqours and I enjoy her Broadway tone and style of singing a lot. Suwawa is very good as well and her hugging antics are just super silly as well.
So those are my end of Season rankings! Of course mileage may possibly vary, so please don’t get mad at me... Q_Q

September has easily been my busiest month of 2019. This month marked my first full month as a college senior (!!!), which was filled with all the school things and reuniting with my best friends. Despite my heavy workload, I’m trying not to stress too much and really enjoy my last year of undergrad. I’m also genuinely enjoying almost everything I’m studying in my English and Communications classes. I’ve had some really fun experiences with my closest friends this month and while I’ve dealt with not the most fun situations, I’m trying to approach everything with as much positivity as possible.
What’s also been such a nice way to relieve some stress is the extra time I’ve had to read, since I commute for two hours two days a week by train this semester. As long as I don’t have pressing school reading to do, I’ve been reading for fun both ways!
Not mentioned below, but I’ve been doing a ton of reading for my English senior research project. I am not including the two primary texts towards my reading challenge because as much as I am enjoying studying them, they count more towards my school reading then reading for fun and review. I might talk about my project more towards the end of the semester, but it has a lot to do with young-adult books and their history and marketing. As time-consuming as scholarly reading is, I’m finding most of the readings so interesting!
The Art of Losing by Lizzy Mason | 3.5/5 Stars
The Art of Losing is one of the most open YA novels dealing with addiction and alcohol & drug use. I really enjoyed the two main relationships, but I found myself struggling to really connect with the story and its writing style.
Comics Will Break Your Heart by Faith Eric Hicks | 5/5
A few of the books I read this month made my fangirl heart so happy, but Comics Will Break Your Heart especially spoke to my love for fandom. The book deals with two rival families whose lives revolve around a very popular comic book series. From the family dynamics to the romance, I loved every element about Faith Erin Hicks’ first prose novel.
Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks | 5/5
Pumpkinheads was the ultimate reading high, putting together my love for a new-to-me favorite author and my all-time favorite author, Rainbow Rowell. Pumpkinheads was everything I wanted in this fall-themed novel and put me really in the mood for the season (I may or may have not bought pumpkin-spice coffee cups for my Keurig that same weekend).
Sea Witch by Sarah Henning | 4/5
I hadn’t had much luck with The Little Mermaid inspired retellings until Sarah Henning’s Sea Witch. This book was a lot of fun and the setting reminded me of The Little Mermaid meets Frozen?? I’ll be reading the sequel, Sea Witch Rising, in October.
Midnight at the Blackbird Café by Heather Webber|4.5/5
Midnight at the Blackbird Café was the cozy-filled book I didn’t realize my reader soul needed. I loved the emphasis on baking, family, and its touch of magical realism.
I Can Make This Promise by Christine Day (ARC) | 3.5/5
I Can Make This Promise was a really unique middle grade read, following one girl’s unraveling of her hidden Native American heritage.
The Liars of Mariposa Island by Jennifer Mathieu (ARC) | 4.5/5
The Liars of Mariposa Island took me by surprise in the best way possible, really enjoying this semi-historical fiction read exploring how a young girl’s escape from the Cuban revolution affects her life and two teenage children years later.
Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell | 4/5
I’m still trying to figure out my Wayward Son feels because even though I didn’t have a ton of expectations, this book was a lot of what I was not expecting.
Workin’ Moms S3 (Netflix)- Although Grace and Frankie is likely my favorite new-to-me TV show of 2019, Workin’ Moms has stolen my heart this year. This third season went into so many different directions that I wasn’t expecting- Anne and Kate, please make better decisions next season- but I loved the drama and quirkiness. This show genuinely makes me laugh-out-loud and I love its light-hearted and humorous attempt at some adult themes. Season 4 just started production, but I’m hoping this next season comes sooner rather than later.
Catastrophe S1-S4 (Prime)- I feel like I’m in between funny TV shows right now (I need the new seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Grace and Frankie right here and now, please), which led me to Catastrophe. The show follows what happens when an American advertising executive and an Irish schoolteacher leave things no strings attached during a business trip, until Sharon learns that she is pregnant with their child. The show deals with some darker themes and it took me a few episodes to really get into. It’s a great binge-watch, especially since each seasonis made up of 6 25-minute episodes. I found myself really enjoying the offbeat humor and found myself invested in the main and side characters’ storylines.
Falling Inn Love (Netflix)- I have been absolutely loving Neftlix’s romantic-comedies this year — which makes me super sad that I did not fall in love at all with Falling Inn Love. I’m all for the occasional Hallmark movie, but Falling Inn Love had an extreme level of cheesiness in its acting and plot that my best friend and I could not get behind.
Say Yes to the Dress S18 (TLC)- I think Say Yes to the Dress will forever be the epitome of comfort TV for me. I acutally walked past Kleinfield one day this month during my lunch break! I am really looking forward to Say Yes to the Dress America next year.

While I didn’t do anything too bookish or fangirlish IRL this month, there is a bit of news that came out this month that I can’t help but keep talking about!
Siobhan Vivian’s new book, We Are the Wildcats, has an official release date and cover- I have been basically waiting for We Are the Wildcats since I finished reading (& utterly loving) Siobhan Vivian’s Stay Sweet in 2018. I am so excited for this field-hockey inspired story by one of my all-time favorite authors.

Laura Silverman’s Recommended for You– Based on my love for her Girl Out of Water and this book’s charming synopsis, I’m really looking forward to Laura Silverman’s Fall 2020 release, Recommend for You. Also blame it on my already growing holiday spirit, but this book is set to follow teen bookseller Shoshanna during the holiday season.

2019 Movies I’m so excited for- I’m sure a lot of my feelings has to do with Netflix and Prime, but I haven’t been too excited for a lot of movies that came out in theaters this year- I only saw Toy Story 4 and Spider-Man 2: Far From Home and re-saw A Star is Born around Oscars-time. However, I will definitely be heading to the movies at least three more times this year for Frozen 2, Last Christmas, and Little Women!
The latest Frozen 2 trailer has me completely hooked and I’ll likely try to catch a screening during ‘a not-so popular with the kids’ time’. Christmas movies are among my absolute favorite things in the world, so add in Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding and you’ll have me bringing candy canes to the movies on November 8. While I have much love for the 1995 Little Women adaptation, this new adaptation looks so promising and again features a few of my faves.
What did you read and watch in September? What books and movies are you looking forward to for the rest of the year? Share in the comments!
BOOKISH BACK TO SCHOOL: September 2019 Wrap Up September has easily been my busiest month of 2019. This month marked my first full month as a college senior (!!!), which was filled with all the school things and reuniting with my best friends.
