it started off as a little joke, the word coming to mind because of the way rafe always talked to you, urging you to be more careful and looking out for you.

"put that shit away, c'mon. you'll be up all night and then you won't let me sleep either," he says, when you point in the direction of the coffee shop and pull out your wallet. he drags you away, a pout taking over your pretty face.

"okay, dad," you tease, though it doesn't come out like a joke this time. it comes out sincerely, agreeing immediately, putting your wallet away even though you don't want to.

"yeah, that's right. listen to dad." you stop in your tracks, a few feet away from rafe's truck, brain starting to go haywire and fuzzy. rafe stops and turns, looking back at you stuck in place. "hm?"

"dad?" you question, repeating it, enjoying the feel of it on your tongue. rafe smiles at you, smirking and laughing, so you smile too. you don't know that you've just created a monster.

"yes?" he asks, stalking towards you and taking your face into his hands. "don't go stupid on me now, kid."

"sorry, dad. can't help it." you feel uncomfortable, wetness pooling between your legs, heart thudding fast. maybe it was wrong, maybe it was weird, but you didn't care in that moment.

"get in the truck," rafe orders, and you comply, darting back to the door and hand on the handle to open the passenger side door. "nope. the back. wanted a treat right? dad's gonna give it to ya."

I literally have no qualms with Gai being drawn as buffer and slightly tanner then Kakashi they lead entirely different lifestyles, obviously there’s a certain line that gets crossed and I’m like WOOOOOOAAAAH that’s a bit much and you can see clear connotations of colorism and racism but I don’t think all art that depicts Gai in that way are like that.

Gai whose hobbies include rigorous dieting and working out and Kakashi whos hobbies include reading bad porn and hanging out with his dogs. Like yeah they’re both lean mean killing machines but the way they use their bodies is completely different and it would 100% make sense for the Taijutsu only user ( a 100% PHYSICAL skill) to have more bulk then Mr.man of a thousand jutsus and one weird eyeball whose diet includes food pills and like bland ass food on a GOOD day.

I sort of understand the complaints going around about art, specifically depictions of male characters in relation to other male characters. But not entirely, because a lot of it just seems like personal preference for a favorite characters.

Im not a big fan of grievous height differences (Gai is only 3 inches taller then Kakashi in the anime) but I’m not about to get mad about it? I’ve ALSO never understood how size and height equate to masculinity whatsoever, and I see a lot of people talking about art-styles that unnecessarily feminize characters, which isn’t really something you can objectively measure. Like Kakashi is never shown explicitly as this totally swoll shredded trunk torsoed dude in the show I do not fucking care if someone gives him a twinky little waistline and calls it a day.

Like I genuinely don’t ENTIRELY understand how feminizing a character works whatsoever, and what’s so bad about it. Like if feminizing a character through art is just making them skinnier and shorter maybe y’all need to do some self-exploration on what you perceive as feminine and masculine.

YOU enjoy yourself, your naruto art is lovely and I revisit it on a occasion. Ignore all the Nart drama and just happily post about the manic clown and the quietly manic bat.

I think it'd have to be very very special circumstances for them to get back together at this point. there's so much trauma and baggage and complications on both sides that they'd only really be able to bridge the gap if 1) they both genuinely wanted to, and 2) the global situation calmed down enough that they could do so without conflict getting in the way. because no matter how much they might still love each other, it won't matter if they're constantly divided by the war. etc etc. you get it.
