Can I go a rant... I'll go on a rant Pt. 2 (the RANT)
So after i read apart of THE REVIEW and realizing the amount of anger I felt stopped me from reading I went to a friend and had a conversation with him about it this was the ensuing conversation and rant:
Me: THE REVIEW I AM FUCKING FUMING ERKLING HEATH. CAST THEM INTO THE ABYSS.
Tumblr media
Friend: he didn't even get past Urban nightmare lol self proclaimed videogame journalists lol Me: This feels like the Cuphead situation Okay lets unpack the cons * Sluggish, dense menus * Rushed cutscenes * Painfully small text outside of dialog * Slow overall story First one okay I admit yes it is bulky. But look at literally any other tactics game they are just as dense if not more so. Second, the fym rushed cutscenes you never saw the whole story. Okay I can see the small text being a problem but why are you playing in only handheld mode. And a slow overall story. Yeah it has to be because it is trying to write a proper story not A FUCKING VISUAL NOVEL YOU CAN JUST SKIP THROUGH TO GET THE ENDING YOU WANT. NO THERE ARE HONEST TO GOD CHARACTER STORIES. EACH GUEST IS A UNIQUE 3D CHARACTER WRITTEN TO HAVE WISHES, HOPES AND DREAMS. ACTUAL PERSONALITIES WITH ACTUAL CHARACTER FLAWS. AND HERE YOU ARE REVIEWER OF NINTENDO LIFE WANTING A FUCKING FASTER STORY AND BY DOING SO COMPRESSING THE STORY OF EVERY OTHER CHARACTER IN ORDER TO GIVE ROLAND THE CENTER STAGE. LIFE, THEATRICS, AND STORIES ARE MUCH THE SAME IN THAT WE ONLY SEE ONE PERSON'S PERSPECTIVE AS CENTER STAGE. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE STORY AND LIVES OF OTHER CHARACTER BEYOND THAT OF THE MC ARE UNIMPORTANT. SO BY TRUNCATING THE STORY OF EVERY OTHER NPC YOU END UP MAKING ROLAND'S STORY WORSE. Friend:
Tumblr media
Me: NO THIS ISN'T OUT OF RESPECT FOR LIBRARY OF RUINA (DESPITE IT BEING GOOD) THIS IS PURE UNADULTERATED ANGER AGAINST STUCK UP GAME REVIEWERS WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT ONLY A STORY BUT SIDE STORIES

I remember Patapon. Pon pon pata pon!
Tumblr media
wonderful its always nice to see a fan of the classics really makes you wonder if series like Patapon and LocoRoco can get a good sequel all these years later... unlike The Paper Mario series...
Tumblr media
God how I harbor a hate for this game this marked the end of truly good Paper Mario games. Well at least now we have the Thousand Year-Door remake so some is forgive for the series as a whole... Not you though Sticker Star my blame for the series downfall still lies with you

Crackpot Theories: The Magnus Protocol edition Part 1: FR3-D1 and the voices within Section 1: Chester and Norris
Before we start I again will say this will have some spoilers for both Archives and Protocol so I say again if you haven't go read at least a synopsis of the 5th season of Archive and the first two episodes of Protocol if you don't have the time to watch both series.
So with that being said read on if you either don't fear spoilers or have already listen to everything.
Okay so before this theory begins we must make a few assumptions.
assumption the first: Protocol while not taking place in the Archives universe at least follows a similar timeline to Archives up until the institute burns in 1999 leading to a timeline divergence
assumption the second: everyone in archives exists somewhere in the protocol timeline though they may be different to their Archive timeline counter part. but there are a few exceptions to this that will be mentioned in another part of this particular theory
So with that lets get to the meat and potatoes of this theory, FR3-D1 and in particular the voices of Chester and Norris. Before you yes I will cover Augustus, just not in this section as Augustus... well its a whole other can of worms to deal with. it will possibly need it's own subsections.
Anyways so to give context to those who either haven't listened to protocol or just need a quick refresher FR3-D1 is a tailor made program made most likely in 1996~1997 for O.I.A.R which had started using Windows NT 4.0, which was released in the summer of 1996, as state by Alice while she was explaining the case filing system to Sam.
Sam starts his second case which ends up being what is known as a chatty case by Alice. For future reference I will call these Chatter cases. Chatter cases are what most of those currently working for the O.I.A.R believe to be a glitch cause by the age of the FR3-D1 program. Alice tells Sam of the three voices of FR3-D1. The first one is Norris the most common of the three. Next is Chester the more uncommon of the three. Then finally Augustus the rarest of the three. So far we have only heard Norris and Chester who are voice by Alexander J. Newall and Jonathan Sims respectfully. These two are the same two who voiced Martin blackwood and Jonathan Sims (or Jon) respectively in Archives. Now this may just be me looking for connections where there aren't any but i feel that these two using the exact voice as two past characters. These two, Alexander J. Newall and Jonathan Sims are the creators of both Archives and Protocol and the fact that they used the exact same voice they did for their characters in Archives is odd to say the least, while this could be a tongue and cheek reference for fans who listened to Archives there is just enough things that don't point to this not being a reference that things get muddled.
There is also the whole bit in the transcripts that comes before Chester and Norris speak it says Cyberspace.
But back to the theory, I believe that Chester and Norris are actually Martin and Jon or rather they are they Archives version of Martin and Jon as both Jon and Martin already exist in the Protocol universe if we assume this timeline closely follows the Archives timeline and we can't have people be replaced by their Archive counterparts (again with a few exceptions). So instead of not being brought along with The Eye, over to Protocol (something I will explain more in one of the subsections in the Augustus section) they were reincarnated into Chester and Norris two of three voices in the program (FR3-D1) that is under the control of The Eye though I think there is the influence of another fear entity (theory for another time).
I also want to bring back the point about the transcript saying cyberspace as I believe if Jon and Martins souls are Chester and Norris then the bit about cyberspace is explained by Jon and martin speaking as Chester and Norris in cyberspace.
And that is where this section ends yes very cut and dry but then this section and future section are plausible at beast and only held up by strings at others.
There was some thing that was brought up in my last post on the fire at the institute (reference to this post) @gammija mentioned in the comments, also thank you friend for correcting me I was going off the transcript on which I didn't see the 1999 and I missed the ARG and while I'm into ARGs Protocol has one is too big for me to finish the monster that is a monster of a ARG but that's besides the point. Anyways @gammija had basically asked if the institute burned in 1999 then why did Chester, Norris and Augustus start reading off cases in 2021?
Now I don't have a good answer to that here is what I got. I think we have two options or a combination of the two. Option 1 is that we have time shenanigans and Chester (Jon), Norris (Martin) and Augustus (???) only arrived to protocol in the year 2021. second is that we have manipulation from The Web and Chester (Jon), Norris (Martin) and Augustus (???) have always been in FR3-D1 and as we have seen with what FR3-D1 has been doing it's very similar to the tape recorders (a theory for another time). Option three though assumes both are true but in stead of The Web silencing or activating the voices The Web places the three into FR3-D1 in 2021.
I was planning on getting all of these done before the next episode drops but I don't think I will. I have been writing this post on off for the last few days. when I planned this to be the shortest of the FR3-D1 theories. this is not what I expected

This is the post I am referencing in my last Crackpot theory post (read it here). Any OP brings up some good points and I think if any one is going to do theory crafting on The Magnus Protocol we will need to keep this in mind. Protocol isn't the same as Archive but I think there is still more to be uncovered as of me re-blogging this post. there are only two episodes out as of now
On the one hand, jonny and alex have said that Protocol is "more of a side-quel", that it should be enjoyable by people unfamiliar with tma, and that being familiar with tma might actually set you on the wrong foot for theorizing. so that's why im not gonna assume that cherri is actually truly jmart until info actually in tmagp canon suggests it
(also it would spoil the ambiguity of tmas ending. and i just want them to have a possibility to be happy somewhere else 😢)
ON the other hand! since tmagp is released in the same feed as tma, there's no clear break and listening to the episodes in sequence goes right from "we couldnt find any bodies in the rubble" to "beep boop we have jon and martins voices in a different universe". so, conclusion... i dont know what to believe!

Crackpot Theories: The Magnus Protocol edition Part 1: The incineration of the magnus institute
Welcome to the first part of the magnus protocol Crackpot theories. Now I will say there will be Heavy Spoilers for the Magnus archives and any episodes of the Magnus protocol that are out at time of me posting this.
As a reminder I would like to say the title of this series is Crackpot theories so before anyone say "you are grasping at strings with this theory" that is the point. In the crackpot theories series I pride myself on trying to find connection and implore you to reply or re-blog with your own thoughts. The more info we get over time the better these theories will become. But for now all we have are strings and we must weave those strings in to plausible theories.
So before we start please I implore you, if you haven't listened to both series, to listen one if not both series as the creators created a master work of a show with The Magnus Archives and now The Magnus Protocol is out and I don't think it will disappoint so read on if you either don't fear spoilers or have already listen to everything.
Everyone caught up with the series and prepared to theory craft then onwards we go.
As the title of this theory will be talking about the fact that in The Magnus Protocol, or as I will refer to it from now on as Protocol for simplicity sake, that the Magnus Archives burned down in about 2002 if the forums are to believed in the second statement of Ep. 1 which I will be referring to as RedCanary after the user on said message board in the statement.
Now as some of you may know Jonny as in the creator mention that Protocol doesn't take place in the same universe that the Magnus Archives, or Archives for simplicity sake, took place in (this was I think said in a stream but I don't have the time to rewatch every stream and scrub through all the content, but I did find a post with help of some friends that does confirm this so I will be re-blogging that post after I make this post). But due to the events of MAG 114 Cracked Foundation and MAG 197 Connected that there is at the very least a connect multiverse.
To explain in MAG 114 the statement giver Anya Villette falls into the the gap in reality that sits in the foundation of the house on Hill Top Road seemingly transporting her to the past. and in MAG 197 Annabelle states this, "This is not ‘the’ world, it is ‘a’ world. And though it has taken so very long to prise it open, the gate to a thousand new realities now stands wide. However, despite this effort, the worlds beyond them remain so far unspoiled by the Fears’ touch." Then later on in that statement this is said:
Jon: I see. Destroy the Panopticon, and you release its power. Kill Jonah, and you cut the connection between the Fears and the world. Do both at the same time, and… for just a moment, all that power rushes through their only remaining connection with reality: the tapes.
Annabelle: And they would be swept along them by it, dragged out of our realities, and into new ones…
This implies that after MAG 200 the fears were essentially ejected into the multiverse leading to the events of Protocol. This forced ejection of the fears was done through the burning of the archives as state in the plan made in MAG 199 Seeing it through.
Now here is where start grasping at threads.
I believe that when the fears were ejected from the archives timeline it somehow brought with it the burning of the institute and through temporal shenanigans the fire had occurred in 2000.
and that is where this theory ends and this Crackpot theory is one of the only theories that has the least amount of ties to the other theories that will be made.
Next will be my Crackpot Theory on will be on FR3-D1 which due to the expanse of the theory will have to be split into multiple parts as that theory contains at least two sub theories and an extra investigation on characters from Archives.

Okay so The Magnus Protocol just released...
I...
words do not describe my excitement...
or my confusion. You see I was only aware today that it released as my phones personalized news showed me that the episode released.
I somehow managed to avoid the notifications and tumblr posts in my feed
how I managed this is... quite astonishing.
Anyways among other things I was finishing my first character rated in ten words or less post but... this happened holy shit the Crackpot theory fire has been lit. so expect that soon.
:)
the show is amazing but how I managed to not see anything on the show till today confuses me

Well October is here and to say I am excited is a understatement. I love everything about from pumpkin flavored well everything to the halloween decorations going up. And with October starting in the real world so too does it start in my fictional world I am writing that is Omndell. So check out the start of something I am writing on my ask blog @the-omndell-chronicles and why not ask some Halloween themed questions while you're there.
A spooky start to October (pt. 1)
Core: Okay lets get this show on the road Wanderer knows its October and I haven't been able to contact him for a bit all he told me was to send a email to his assistant to prepare a meeting. So I am just as much in the dark as you dear viewers and those working under the Wanderer
*in one of the meeting rooms with in the walls of where ever The Wanderer works sits Lily Todd, Guinevere, Lurex and on a wall is a screen with the Ever Ticking Clock*
Lurex: So... are we here?
Guinevere: Girl your guess is as good as mine. I hate how the Wanderer tells us nothing at times
Ever Ticking Clock: He could be messing with us it wouldn't be too odd for him
*Lily Todd smiles fingers neatly interlaced before her*
Guinevere: There is something you aren't telling us
*Lily Todd's eyes glow green*
Lily Todd: in due time, Guinevere in due time besides the others should be here soon...
*at that very moment the door opens as a small waddle dee with glasses comes in with a clipboard. He is followed by Capt. Hope and Lacey, as well as a small pastel pink kobold with motor oil on their skin and overalls, a teenager in a black bicker jacket, black cargo pants and skull t-shirt, and a meek looking doctor or researcher with thick round glasses.
Lilly Todd: ah perfect timing Joey you are right on time
Joey: Just as always, now other than The Wanderer everyone should be here so everyone take your seats and the meeting will begin soon
{End of part 1}

You run a café on the edge of life and death. Souls who have been departed from their bodies temporarily, such as in comas or near-death experiences, can relax in your quaint cafe for as long as they need before they can either return to their bodies or begin their journey to the afterlife.

Okay everyone listen up
For those of us who like puzzles and stories I have found a new ARG, a new unfiction project,
The Café And Diner Archives
and by god it has been slept on I have only seen exactly two videos on this and by god I have been going through it and it is amazing.
Some tips though cause I don't want people get stuck and be discouraged.
Start with Year Zero it has some of the easier puzzles
Google is your friend especially with the trivia locked receipts
The Archive information contains details on how password and receipts work
Password aren't necessarily case sensitive as all passwords have the first letter of EVERY word capitalized
If you need to there is a wiki with most of the passwords
also DO NOT start with receipt DD-CAD00 I am still not sure what the password is and the wiki taunts me
Other than that I think you are good to start you dive into this site so fellow ARG investigators have fun investigating
