Good morning! If you missed my update, go back an image and have a read. Been a crazy month or so! As a result, these images of the stunningly beautiful and amazingly talented Miss Maya @_maya_ballerina_ were taken a few weeks ago. I wanted to thank Miss Maya for her patience in waiting for these images. Normally after selection, turn around is just a week or so, but with the nutty schedule I've had she had to wait a little longer than normal. Yep, you've seen this before... Sorry for the silence! I assure you The Ballet Projecy is continuing! I have so many more dancers to photograph, but let me give you some insight about the last month or so. So as you know I was diagnosed with #pancreaticcancer in January of 2017. I endured chemo and radiation to treat it. I was determined to be in remission shortly after treatment. In April this year during a quarterly check up, my CA19-9, a tumor marker, was higher than the last check up. I had jumped from 23 to 166. It was indicative of tumor activity. We scheduled a PET scan and it was discovered that my tumor was active again. The prognosis isn't great this time around. I don't really put a lot of stock in the statistics or prognosis as I've been blessed to out-live my original prognosis by over a year and a half. But, it was as a result of the tumor being active again that i've I restarted chemo. I'm unable to receive radiation as the spot is the very same place as originally and I can't receive any more radiation. I decided to take advantage of being eligible for disability and start living out the time I have with family friends doing the things I love. I left my full time job of 7 years. At the same time, my daughter graduated from high school. Lastly, my Mother arranged for a bucket list trip to Europe. We spent 2 weeks in #germany, #france and #London! So, I've been a little busy handling some personal issues of late, but now I'm back with several amazing memories of Europe, spending time with my family and am getting back to editing 2 sessions from two amazing dancers I photographed just before all of this started and photographing more amazing talent! I appreciate your patience and support while I took care of a few things. Keep an eye out for new photos of dancers and ballerinas starting again next week!
