I think my favourite part of the Umbrella Academy is it doesn't lampshade anything. The characters are either too dumb and or too used to the weird shit going on so it's a constant game of "Yes and" that has gotten madly out of control.

Like Five could walk in and say; we need to find 50 gallons of milk to stop the end of the world and no one would question it. No one would do it: they're all too busy with their own subplots and stupidity but no one would question it.

It just lets you enjoy the ride rather than being embarrassed about what it is and I love that.

I saw a post awhile ago talking about Percy and Will's friendship or whatever you'd even call it and it got me thinking. Will helped save Annabeth at the end of The Last Olympian and because of that I think Percy would have a bit of soft spot for him. And Will is just so bitter and resentful towards him. So I imagine something like this happening

Percy upon seeing Will: oh my gods look it's Will Solace! The guy who saved my girlfriend Annabeth. Maybe I should go tell him hi and thank you!

Will: this fricking guy. I swear one day I'm gonna go punch him in the face.

Aphrodite: I brought you a boyfriend

Will: thank you!

Aphrodite: with abs-

Will: *blushes* thank you

Aphrodite: -olutely no self-preservation

Will: *gasps* No!

Jason: Your boyfriend and Percy are screaming and shouting outside, don't you think you should do something?

Nico: Yeah you're right I should

Nico: *gets up*

Nico: *closes with window*

Nico: Sometimes my eyes close when I sneeze.

Will and Mrs. O'Leary

So Will is a Country Boy, he's very used to horses and cows and the like, so it generally doesn't bother him when an animal is bigger than he is

But Mrs. O'Leary is a dog and dogs aren't supposed to get that big Nico no I'm not scared shut up

Of course she adores him because there is nothing more terrifying than a dog you are afraid of thinking you're the most exciting thing it's ever met

Dog slobber. So much dog slobber that William Flip-Flops-During-Surgery Solace is concerned about hygiene

Nico of course has a BLAST, what's more fun than seeing your crush good friend terrified out of his mind because your incredibly mild-mannered hellhound decided to put her giant head on his feet?

I imagine Nico brings her everywhere he can because therapy dog and also extra intimidation factor and also free pillow during surprise naps

So Will is forced to get over his fear because he'll be damned if he lets a dog get between him and the person he is falling madly in love with his friend

And while he is still very much a cat person at his core, he has to admit that Mrs. O'Leary is wonderful to be around once you get past the "very scary Underworld" exterior

oh would you look at that, now there's two intimidating Underworld characters who absolutely adore will and at their core just want love and affection

of course the best part of this is the first time Nico catches Will and Mrs. O'Leary spending time together without him, playing fetch or napping in the shade he's like 5% jealous that he wasn't invited 95% completely head over heels

Nico: I decided to do something nice for Meg, so I have a ghost open doors for every building she goes in.

Nico: Yeah. She just thinks they’re all automatic.

Will, smirking: So, chivalry IS dead?
