When I'm working I feel consumed by the process and then afterwards the only reason I know I made it was because I have memories of making the thing. It's so hard to zoom out and appreciate the wholeness while in the middle of cleaning up the edge of an eyelid crease.
Anyways... these faces looks really sinister huh? The studio is dark after we close. I could turn on the lights but I don't mind.

A little bit of iron oxide staining to give it some more depth and glaze to shine up the bones. I love the contrast but did wish the glaze was a little more transparent and more amber colored but very satisfied overall. Can't wait to make it a lamp.

I was going to do the whole skeleton wrapped around the block but it was getting too dry. I'm considering making it a wall lamp instead of a free standing lamp.

I'm torn in deciding to make a lidded container out of the other two or making another two planters.

I think it will be hard for me to tell when I'm finished with this style of drawing... but I find the process very compelling and calming.

Pull apart heart and lung vase. Can't wait to see it filled with flowers!
Raspberry glaze came out very red...more of a kidney color but hey I like how the heart came out even if the saturation contrasts greatly. I could have hand painted the color to suit my preference but glazing is like that.
