idk if this is a typical introject experience but something I noticed is that whenever we are like. Like whenever life is Fine and everything’s okay our introjects divorce from source more but even those more “divorced from source” introjects tend to like. Regress? Whenever we start going through shit in real life. Someone in our family died recently and it’s really taking a toll and I noticed that a lot of us introjects are like. LITERALLY regressing back to where we started with source separation because of it. Like some of us are switching back to pronouns we don’t use anymore (i.e our sources pronouns), going back to using our sources name if we changed it, acting more like our sources again, leaning heavily into our pseudomemories if we have them. it just sucks man 😭😭

osdd-1b to did to c-did pipeline. why does it exist? (a ramble)

if i had to guess it seems like c-did is better at hiding amnesia in comparison to “normal” did. at least this is what ive gathered from my own experiences and speaking with others. it seems like c-did also has more varied types of amnesia between parts. so some parts will have no amnesia between them, some have blackout, etc. not that this doesn’t happen in normal did but i think it’s less common. so many newly discovered cdid systems might assume they’re osdd1b because at first it seems like there’s no amnesia at first. oh and then also there’s a misconception in the community that you can have a degree of amnesia and osdd1b when that’s not true. even if you only experience “grey outs” you have to be did. thats a side tangent but i feel like people think you have to have blackouts to have did and no you just have to have any sort of amnesia. i also think that the first few alters they discover in these systems tend to be “closer” as in they work together closely since usually it’s a host(s), caretaker(s), protector(s) that front a decent bit that get discovered first, so it makes sense there would be less amnesia between them. idrk though, curious what other people think/what other’s experiences are with this.

This might get be shot in the foot but can someone explain the argument that alters can only have names that match the body's ethnicity/culture/country of origin to me like I'm 3? I just. Don't get it. One of our core values is to be a forever student, so we are more than willing to learn and adjust here if we're wrong, but with the information we have this argument doesn't make sense to us.

I just don't see how a name is cultural appropriation. I definitely agree that like claiming that an alter in a white body is literally another race is appropriative, disrespectful, and flat out racist. No matter how you appear in headspace or how many pseudo memories you have, you will never experience that actuality of being that race. Claiming the experiences of minorities is obviously shitty.

I don't see how simply having a name from another culture is the same though. Just having a name is not equal to claiming that you are actually X ethnicity when you're not. As long as alters acknowledge that they are not a different race than the body and don't claim to be, what is the harm in letting them have the names that they have?

I just saw someone who was told that it didn't matter that their anime alter with a Japanese name already acknowledged that they aren't and never will be Japanese and that it didn't matter that that alter was strongly attached to their name and distressed by being forced to change their name. They were told they had to force the alter to change their name and that the alter would just get used to it.

It just.... Seems cruel to forcibly take people's names from them to me.

Also. What about singlets who were given names that aren't from their race/culture/country/ethnicity. Are they culturally appropriating just by having those names they didn't choose to have? Would the argument be that they HAVE to change their names when they're old enough to?

I still come back to forcibly taking people's names just seems cruel to me.

Names are big parts of our identities, whether they're chosen, given, or inherited from a source. I just don't think people should be forced to part with such a big part of themselves unless it's their choice to find a name they love for themselves more.

So. What am I missing from the other side of the argument? What makes having names from other cultures appropriation? How is someone having a name causing harm? I would genuinely love if someone could break it down for me, because I just don't understand and if I'm lacking perspective, I'd love to gain it.

I’ve never done any sort of therapy on a personal alter level. Of course, some of the others have and I’ve even personally supervised some sessions though not speaking during them myself.

I felt awkward at first speaking to our therapist today, especially since she hasn’t encountered a main protector alter like me who’s seen and dealt with it all.

I didn’t mean to but whatever I said made her cry, and I genuinely felt bad. In theory, I’m pretty sure the client is meant to be the cry-ee? I’m still not sure if I liked or did not like the experience. It was quite uncomfortable for me, possibly because it made me reconsider some things and deeply think about things I’d never thought deeply about. Not sure if it helped me very much but it was at least an interesting if not thought provoking experience.

I hope it’s okay to add to this, I unfortunately do not have screenshots of my main interactions with this person (Ethan/dreamkingdomaine) as we pretty much blocked them only after a short period of talking because every alarm bell ever went off.

we are 18 years old bodily and this person (dreamkingdomaine/Ethan) messaged us on here and did a similar thing. Asked if we wanted to talk, made a server and stuff. it was going fine at first. but abt like, 10 minutes into our conversation, we basically showed some little profiles about each alter because they did that for us and I was like “well that’s fair!” And one of our alters, icarus, is hypersexual and it was in her little bio thing at the time.

ethan/dreamkingdomaine IMMEDIATELY jumped on this and assumed that icarus being hypersexual = consent. and started being a weirdo. and ray who was fronting at the time was like “hey this is making me extremely uncomfortable we’re only 18 can you please stop” and then this person got mad at us and basically was like “well you shouldn’t have ‘hypersexual’ in ur bio if you don’t want to be advanced on” and it was so. Ew.

AND NOW KNOWING THEYRE ACTUALLY 41 AND A WELL KNOWN PREDATOR/FREAK IN SOME SPACES??

PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PERSON. @/dreamkingdomaine. Stay away from them. Block them. Do not talk to them. We had a really triggering experience with them and split because of them.

it is of my opinion that they are specifically roaming around in trauma communities bc they know that we are easier to take advantage of and they seem to know some of the “right” buttons to push in order to trigger certain feelings. for example when we denied their advances they immediately went for guilt tripping/blaming us for their advances which you can understand why that would be such a huge trigger for a survivor of SA like we are. for a few hours after that we felt like it really was our fault and that maybe we shouldn’t block them and should give them a second chance since it was “our fault” they advanced on us. Luckily icarus slapped some sense into us and blocked them but it was genuinely a very scary experience.

a few weeks ago, in the beginning of february, ethan messaged one of my friends on tumblr to ask if he wanted to make a private discord server to talk. at this time, ethan's tumblr said he was 41 years old, which he then confirmed in a message with my friend. his (my friend's) tumblr bio says that she is an adult, but doesn't dictate his full age.

ethan messaged him on discord, again confirming that he is fourty-one, but stopped messaging & unfriended him when my friend said she was 18 & therefore they shouldn't be talking.

however, ethan then changed the age on his account to 24.

he then messaged me, asking a very similar thing, however whilst he claimed he didn't realise my friend was 18 (and in a later message, that much of the tumblr did community is <25) my age is very obviously stated in my bio (and I am 17 years old, making me a legal minor.)

ethan has not messaged any of my other friends on tumblr, who state that they are adults in their bio, & i don't know the extent to which he has interacted with members on here.

his behaviour therefore is incredibly predatory seeming, particularly the changing of his reported age, & i presume he was operating under the assumption that me and my friend didn't know each other and therefore wouldn't discuss this.

ethan's discord user ID is 339913311573245954. i advise everyone who owns or moderates a server focused on did/trauma that's available to find on tumblr to preban him, especially if there are minors in your community, and block him on tumblr. this is not the behaviour of a responsible & trustworthy adult.

* edit/note: based on the blog history, this person has likely been doing this for YEARS. there are no other accounts with that name easily identifiable online, so this tumblr is likely a burner account. they have a year long post history of disappearing for a matter of months, and then coming back to ask people to DM them or message them on discord, presumably also messaging people in a similar manner to how they are now, originally in the roleplay community but more recently in trauma communities. and a reminder that again they are lying about their age after being told it was an uncomfortable difference by a young person they were attempting to privately speak too. please watch your interactions with this person.
