so I'm learning about the indie web and how we as individuals can own our own content instead of relying on internet silos and walled gardens to own our data and lock us into services we can't find elsewhere. I want to start making my own websites. I might syndicate messages to this site, but I want to host the majority of my content on my own site and maybe even get my own NAS server to store and self host all the data. I think decentralization and democratization without the BS of surveillance capitalism would massively improve the internet, although web3 is not the solution to our problems since it actually puts more power into capitalist's hands. the devices we use and the data we own is an extension of our personal being, thus it is a cybernetic part of us. state and corporate surveillance is an assault on our persons and it should be recognized as such. the farming of people's data is unethical since it violates every aspect of a person's identity except their physical body. societal progress and technological advancement should not come at the cost of people's well-being and should enable the passion and self actualization of all beings. I think people should work on making their own websites and connecting peer to peer so we can build a collaborative internet. The indie web is so amazing and I think we should be working towards data self ownership. especially since it can be so much more useful than simply relying on social media for everything (also the techno optimist to neo luddite eco anarcist pipeline is real and more people should go through it tbh)

so being transimmortal makes me feel conflicted internally because I wonder how immortal beings would cope with eternity even with limitations placed onto them and if it would even be enjoyable if there was only a finite amount of things to do. my biggest anxieties are that there is a limit to progress and a limit to artistic expression that would lead to stagnation. the phrase that keeps me going is "we have everything to strive for and nothing to die for"

what this basically means to me is that even if there are limits to reality, by choosing to live, you gain the ability to experience everything and have all the comforts and relationships that make life enjoyable whereas without life or immortality, you'd eventually be left with nothing. who knows perhaps the achievements of immortality would lead to an infinite quest for novel experiences and revolutionary breakthroughs that never end. where there's a will, there's a way.

yeah there are certain edge cases where full abstinence may not make total sense and I'd prefer to have a nuanced and in depth breakdown of what I'm comfortable with rather than leaving it as a vague statement about all paraphilias. I don't think chrono minors or animals without sapience and artificial evolution can consent to anything sexual/romantic and I make that very clear. things like transIDs and regression can muddy the waters of consent and I tend to treat it on a case by case basis and use critical thinking whenever I can to take the most ethical course of action. for the most part my contact stance revolves around making informed consent and avoiding cases of abuse or death. I have complex stances around roleplay that could cause harm such as knifeplay but as long as it doesn't severely harm anyone or cause lasting psychological damage I'm ok with it. we take a critharm stance in most cases. we made a post about our contact stance here.

for the vast majority of the history of sexual reproduction, rape has largely dominated reproduction in both humans and other animals. animals still compete for resources and partners through brute force and painful domination and thus their biological structures have adapted to this behavior. evolution does not care about the wellness of animals, only that their genes are replicated somehow. antagonistic coevolution leads to rape and violence being rewarded as well as exploitation dominating evolutionary strategies. just because something is "natural" doesn't mean it's ethical or that it can't be changed or prevented. the cruelty done to animals by humans is fairly common. milk is produced from the forced insemination and pregnancy of cows against their will and the separation of calves from their mothers, causing great emotional distress for them both. There is no way for humans to use animals products without serious abuse and exploitation of them. by taking products from animals, we commodify and objectify their existence to devalue their suffering. animal experimentation is also very brutal towards animals, often leaving them with severe trauma, chemical burns, forced impregnation and massive amounts of death all for the sake of "human societal progress". no being should have to suffer for the sake of innovation. the highest truth is that you can't own another being because they must own themselves. anything we do towards other beings must be in their best interests and physical and mental wellness. but even when we aren't directly cruel to animals, we are callous by ignoring their needs because we deem the natural world off limits to scientific interventions that can prevent mass suffering and maximize their potentials to self actualize. modernist humanism often tries to separate human affairs from the wild ecosystem, but this effort is misguided and ignores the broad interconnections of cross-species cooperation at play, instead we should be working towards advancing the well being of animals and humans alike. nature is indifferent. it's merely a series of causes and affects that arose from nondeterministic chaos. there is no invisible hand guiding evolution, therefore there is nothing stopping us from reaching out our kindness towards other animals and abolishing hierarchies between species. ecosystems are meant to change, they are the dynamic social relations between all species in a given area. we have the tools to develop a more egalitarian future for the vast majority of life on the planet. so what do we do? I feel like it is important to establish a framework for animal welbeing that incorporates technology with ecology. it would be very important to work towards global cross species veganism through biological modification and weeding out oppressive, malfunctional, and harmful biological traits. I feel that all beings deserve sapience, personhood, and the ability to modify themselves in anyway they so desire. we should end the predator-prey dynamics between species and undo genetic selections that allowed for passive victimization and pedigree traits that only cause health issues.

I honestly think we need to shift the conversation about environmentalism and focus on how interconnected we are. the modernistic framework of separating the affairs of humans and nature denies the mass atrocities that are being committed in both first and second nature spaces (first nature being the domain of the non constructed primordial worlds we neglect to steward, second nature being the domain of the constructed artifice of mechanistic control). it's time we built a third nature: a new ecosystem where technology and ecology aren't at constant odds with each other and the bloodshed for survival between animals is finally ended. third nature should share the knowledge we have with the natural world. open the borders entirely. I believe it should be a moral imperative to scientifically advance the quality and capabilities of self determination, cognitive freedom, morphological freedom and self expression for all beings. not as an act of paternalism, but of equalizing solidarity. human supremacy no more. universal egalitarianism for all beings. this is the solarpunk world I desire to create. no more bloodshed over predation or disease or starvation. no more endless wars built off of mass suffering. an end to all tyranny, from nature or otherwise. when we start dismissing evils as natural, injustice is excused. we are stuck in trauma cycle realism that we must break out of that. this pain will end some day and we will all heal. it's time for humans and animals to break the status quo. we cannot sustain a world built on suffering. period.

animals deserve the right to self determination. I do not want to see any more animals being victims of helpless conditioning. it is morally ethical to enhance their cognitive freedoms and physiological forms and uplift them from passivity while respecting and enhancing their subjective mental experience albeit herbivorized. the ways in which we justify keeping animals as inferior to humans is appalling and only justifies cruelty towards them for being "lesser" beings. all beings deserve the right to autonomy, self awareness, and self actualization. rather than being paternalistic about it, I see the agency of self as an inherent right to all beings regardless of social or evolutionary standing and the evolution revolution is for all beings including those in human bodies but do not identify with them. bodies should be comfortable to live in. no body should have evolutionary traits that requires abuse as an evolutionary strategy or are designed to malfunction. minds should be comfortable to think in. there should be sufficient capacity for self awareness and ability to modify neurological architecture to whatever one desires and is free from evolutionary coercion and brainwashing. currently animals are not capable of any form of self determination or consent to medical treatment which is a serious problem since they cannot advocate for themselves and are subjects of abuse and experimentation. we need to end speciesist paternalism as soon as possible and create a world of cooperation. the idea of a "natural world" is an arbitrary amoral indifferent social construct for anything that is outside of human society. what this fails to recognize is that what is considered natural and what is considered artificial is often blurred into a spectrum. if nature is unjust, change nature. we should be expanding our moral circles to other species and conscious beings. a cow conditioned through selective breeding to be slaughtered is not cognitively free because it is incapable of making the choice to run away. a dog bred to be shown off at a pet show is not morphologically free because it cannot chose the body it was designed for and all of the downsides that come with it. animals that are evolutionary designed for sexual abuse are sexually oppressed. biology doesn't care about the well being of an individual, only the genetic replication of it's offspring. biology should not be some entity to glorify as all knowing and self managing. evolution is amoral. we can improve the conditions of animals and build a new ecology of care rather than an ecology of fear. there should be no world where one animal has to rip another animal apart to survive. as many people can attest to, no being chooses the bodies we are born in, only what we decide to make of them. animals should be given this choice to modify their bodies and minds to their own desires. if we ever design the technology for uplifting species, it will have to be out of kindness and respect for the beings' autonomy.

extortion is the game and money is the blame: it's wage slavery all the same. they wash their hands of social mud, but cannot unspill the blood- of their deals in which they hide the glutinous wrath of genocide. they construct this "social nature" a world where stronger monsters make meals of weaker. they manufacture our consent so they can exterminate all dissent. they gather all internet metadata to formulate more exploitive surveillance schema. they sell us hollow dreams of the future, all of which they intend to butcher. all bonds and sense of community, beaten down by cops of impunity. not even our homes are safe from the surveillance with its overwhelming wiretapped prevalence. they make us non-explicitly rely on things which we must rent and never buy. technology was promised to be our saviours, but when wielded by the hands of enslavers they propagate societal mechanisms: doom, nhilism, and despotism. the technofeudal tyranical state, cannot simply operate without a matrix of control; illusions of freedoms that they stole. there can be no freedom under nation-states: capital production entwined in fates. for what is freedom if not to be governed by oneself and not another? This neofascist carnist rapture, will consume itself in hateful fervour. we cannot let this eventual fray drag us with it to it's vacuum decay. it will try with all it's might, so we must be willing to put up a fight.

what are we to do, the voices of the disempowered minority few? for this we must build "dual power", one of many arms of praxis' flower. build a new world in the shell of the old, liberate the shackled lives untold. The victims of criminalized existence have no choice but violent resistance. nonviolent action works good for disruptions, but violent oppressors have other intentions. dehumanizing those they kill, a violent fascist sees no ill in deeming other lives as less and will purposefully cause distress. how can we idly, nonviolently sit by when tyrants decide that we must die?

things I like about orion's arm: -amazing world building -diverse cultural landscape and expansion of moral circles -advanced and plausible technologies -total self agency over identity and freedom things I dislike about orion's arm: -the world building refuses to imagine a world without hierarchical domination and says anarchism won't work in the long term. -horrific forms of torture invented -weird and unethical species downshifting -cops and landlords exist even thousands of years into the future and most people still have to work a corporate job even in a post scarcity environment.

honestly I think the idea of a singularity is an interesting idea, but we also have to look at how ai is largely shaped by the working class and micro work that fuels ai data and how the public welfare of capitalist society is largly a biproduct and afterthought the primary motivation of capitalism, which is to produce capital for the owning class off the backs of the laborers. a society of care and mutual aid can be built without the need of a ruling class. there fundamentally cannot be a post scarcity society under capitalism and it will always result in exploitation. the wiki in orion's arm says that anarchism only works for a few hundred years, yet humans have lived in villages on earth in the real world for THOUSANDS of years without a clear central hierarchy and used a gift economy as the primary mode of distribution. the kind of world I want to build is a fully liberated deep ecological pan-species technogaian queer space anarchism, which is is different from orion's arm's neoliberal space capitalism. I really think we can build a better world that doesn't rely on capitalism as the primary means of production.
