How do you think Trapped is going to end? Do you think there'll be a happy ending for Yoon Soo and Chae Ah?
While I'm not going to try to talk about specific story points, I'll just put a read more line in case people want to avoid any possible spoilers. I'll try to be brief though, haha.
Trapped is the one I'm not entirely sure how it's going to end honestly. I DO believe Chae-ah at least will get a happy ending (otherwise I'm going to assume the author just absolutely hates their own FL with what they put her through XD). I also believe that Yunsu will get a ...either a happy ending or a redemption (author's been building up sympathy for him). Father should die. Horribly (he better).
And poor Grimm did NOTHING WRONG so he should definitely be getting a happy ending.
Now what you're probably wondering...will Chae-Ah and Yunsu end up together?
Oddly enough I'm personally HOPING they do (I wanted to compare how I feel about this relationship with another webcomic I'm reading)...but if I'm being honest it seems 50/50 right now whether they get together or not.
The author's done such a good job with portraying how the characters feel, that I will be understanding and happy with either outcome. It's just the first time I'm routing for a pairing in a story of this kind of format.

You know what's wild? I remember watching this animatic 8 years ago. Dark but great. I had the random urge to watch it again recently.
It's by Dany Darkly. I was kind of curious if they'd ever drawn any more artwork of their OC's and...holy cow I was surprised.
Tumblr media
Apparently they started a little canvas webtoon back in 2021. Pretty far along, not quite finished yet. It's not supposed to be incredibly long but I'm actually quite impressed with the pacing, lore, character writing and development of the relationship between the two leads. Very plesant surprise! Apparently it is considered an AU from the original Wolfsong. The comic is definitely romance, but the original animatic is much darker and left up to interpretation by the creator. I call that a major win. You can either finally have your romance story or keep to the original tragedy.

Little Red Riding Hood? Or a wolf in a red hood?
Tumblr media
It's love sick boy hours, and today we have a character. He currently doesn't have a name yet. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment. I like to think that maybe he's related to the Wolf from my other story.

I hope I don't jinx this by saying this out loud...but I'm REALLY hoping that two webcomics I'm reading/watching raws for end in opposite ways. One is "Trapped" and the other is "Who is the Prey." I would be so happy to compare and contrast the pairings in the end. Getting a good antagonist turned male yandere with some tough female leads either way. But yeah I think I know how one is ending and the other it's still back and forth. While the latter I think I'll be satisfied either way, I'm rooting for a certain ending.
Warning: Do not read "Who is the Prey" if you're only looking for yandere romance. It's more of a palate cleanser if you're a little tired of S/O's just relenting to the yandere a little too easily (feelings wise at least). Also there's some triggering stuff right away in it. All I'll say for now.

I JUST HAD A CRAZY IDEA
Okay, so a long while ago I came up with a story that was basically a twist on Little Red Riding Hood, where the Wolf was in love with Little Red and basically kills the grandma and kidnaps Little Red and all that yandere jazz. BUT WHAT IF LITTLE RED WAS THE YANDERE? Instead of a little girl on here way to Grandma's, it's a boy seeking to capture the Wolf because he's just so in love and wishes to keep the Wolf "safe". There are hunters everywhere and the Wolf can't hide forever. What if the Hunters find out there's a wolf living amongst humans. His precious wolf can't fight them all off. Oh no, that would be too much for his precious wolf. He must keep them safe, even if they resist him. He's doing this for the Wolf's own good. And if they run, well he'll just have to find them all over again. He may have to get rid of a few "obstacles" in his way but anything for his precious Wolf. Maybe the world would be better with less hunters. Then maybe the Wolf would be happier and not live in fear of being captured. Such a beautifully devious idea. He never liked those hunters anyways, so Little Red would be doing himself and the Wolf a favor.
"Oh, my precious wolf. Nothing shall ever harm you ever again. Not while I'm around~" he giggles.
(First off, just wanna preface that I have nothing against yandere girls, it's just my thing to make Yandere boys. Secondly, the Wolf is kinda like a werewolf. Debating whether it's male or female presenting but you got the idea).

So. I created a Male Yandere CYOA
Tumblr media
After I created my Otome Isekai CYOA, I began work on creating a Male Yandere CYOA. It's finally completed! It's playable on PC and phone browsers.
It's a bit of a mash of character creation and husbando picker. I want to emphasize it isn't technically a game but there are multiple ends. Several you can buy with your remaining points and an ending if you go into debt. So be careful of your spending habits~
!WARNING! It takes about 1 to 5 minutes for the page to load depending on your browser speed!!!!!

Do you want your character in First Impressions?
I'm finally back on my horse for drawing the next chapter of First Impressions and I need background characters for some scenes. SO if you want your OC or character to be a background character, now is your chance!
Basically all you have to do is either reblog this and attach your character (bust or full body is fine since they all will wear school outfits anyways) or DM me your character. I'll include them in the next two chapters of First Impressions as a background character, as well as make a small interaction with them as an extra linked with the creator. Fun!
If there are too many of them (which, I don't think will happen, but who knows), then I'll add them in as background characters in other chapters as it goes on.
But yeah, go nuts. And if you haven't read First Impressions yet... I mean, I linked it right there and there's not a lot of chapters so-

i know this is an odd ask, but do you know of any yandere writing resources compilations/masterlist?
either way, thank you for all the hard work you do for the male yandere community! it's really easy to find my next read because of you and other compilers 🫂
Hmm... I don't know of any specific writing sources other than maybe TheSevan's post on yanderes (geared mostly toward female yanderes, but it works for any kind). There's also @violetosprey for other analysis and @thatyanderecritic for both analysis and writing stuff but they haven't been active in a while.
If you check under my #yandere ideas and/or #analysis tag you might find some more resources or ideas. There's sometimes some discussion on the r/MaleYandere Reddit- but other than that I don't really know of any except maybe this Yandere Town Analysis. I have my own Analysis List as well if you are interested.
Other than that, I did do some reblogs today for writing tips and analysis, so hopefully that might helps? If you know any more (not you specifically, general you), then please tell me.
But yeah, thank you so much! I do my best.

Only Hope - By Choseung (7/10)
Tumblr media
Time travel is a hard concept to work with. It sounds easy and simple to understand on paper, but it's boring and the incoming twist here isn't enough. The art is wonderful. I like the two main characters, but the plot is sub-par. Sadly, that's the most important component.
The first three chapters are incredible. Eunhye is the unhappy daughter of a wealthy man. She's an adult with her own life. Her father hates her for unknown reasons, and her stepmother is a stereotypical jealous hag.
Tumblr media
Her father is dying, and he still wants nothing to do with her. Eunhye has never had a normal family, and now she never will. Her own father doesn't want her to come to his funeral. Her husband, Dojin, gets hit by the evil stepmother character when he tries to pay his respects.
Tumblr media
Eunhye defends her husband. She's not a spineless little girl. She lived in an abusive household, and now that she's out she has healthy boundaries. It was incredibly refreshing to see. It is sad that Eunhye will never have a relationship with her father, but we get to see how she became a strong adult in her introductory scene.
Tumblr media
Dojin is a doctor. He's successful. It's implied that she is too. Their marriage is perfect. They get along great, and Dojin is very attractive on top of being a doctor. The beginning of their romance was like the first chapter of a novel.
Dojin seems too perfect.
Tumblr media
Eunhye goes to their cabin. Dojin is late. She finds a basement room full of criminal things, and a horrible video. It's a man, begging for his life, before someone off screen sets him on fire. She knew nothing. Dojin made the secret basement without her knowledge. Then, fire burns their romantic cabin to the ground. Then, a masked man slashes Eunhye open. Eunhye grabs his pant leg and demands to know who he is, before she dies.
She fights until she can't move anymore.
I was hyped. Absolutely loved Eunhye as the main character at this point.
Tumblr media
Eunhye wakes up. It's the one year anniversary of her mother's death. It's also the day she met Dojin. He's sweet and kind, and he helps her. Their romantic meeting is the same as before, but she's afraid. Dojin is somehow involved with her death. The evidence in the basement points to that. Especially the video, which proves that Dojin is somehow connected to gang related crime.
Tumblr media
I think Dojin is a great potential villain. It kind of doesn't matter if he killed his wife. What does matter is his true self. Is Dojin a criminal? A serial killer? Does he enjoy his grim work? Why did he marry someone outside of his world? Was Eunhye just a paycheck? Did he put a ring on it to get cash? Is she a target? How does his career as a doctor fit into his daily life?
Fascinating questions. So many of them too. I expected Eunhye to start fake dating Dojin, who was clearly interested in her.
She doesn't.
Tumblr media
Eunhye stalks Dojin, even though she knows he's dangerous. He catches her, which is a given because SHE already knows he's not a normal guy! Not normal guys notice when they're being tailed! Ugh. It gets worse. Within the first ten chapters Eunhye tells him, to his face, that she had a prophetic dream about him. One where he dies, and she wants to protect him, even though they are complete strangers in this timeline.
Eunhye KNOWS that telling him she knows the future is stupid. The idea is presented as a joke at first....but then she does it...and Dojin goes along with it. This plot direction kills alot of the tension.
Most of the plot becomes:
"I know what will happen today and I have to stop it."
Not:
"Did my husband kill me or cause my death with his shady business?"
Tumblr media
Dojin has a sad past. His house was set on fire and his mother was killed maybe? He ended up in the hospital as a kid. He's a jaded and violent guy, but he's also a doctor with a good personality. We still don't know what parts of him are real.
Tumblr media
Eunhye comforted him when he lost everything. This points towards the yandere route. Dojin can't remember her well, because he was traumatized, but it was definitely her. The timeline is confusing and not in a fun way. Dojin doesn't recognize Eunhye yet. We only get hints, but how did any of this kill Eunhye? It's interesting, but the fake dating route would have been a million times better. It's cute that Eunhye wants to trust her loving husband, but the plot is alot less thrilling...because most of the scenes are just Eunhye waiting for something interesting to happen.

Usually when I post at least one thing, I try to find some male yandere (legit or just aesthetic) images to reblog. The "# male yandere" tag seems mostly dominated by stories/fics and reviews at the moment though. I'm not in a big reading mood at the moment (yes, I'm a hypocrite with my writing length), so sadly I guess I'll just try again another time. The reviews usually have some good images, but I don't want to reblog at random. Might have to go back to my "google image" routes XD Anyone else remember going down so many rabbit holes that way?

Have you played The Price Of Flesh?
No I haven't actually. I haven't looked into it too much (forgot for awhile when started using tumblr less), but I think it turned out really well. The creator put in a lot of hard work and should be very proud. Pretty sure it was received very well! I don't have any doubts it'd be a good game.
I just have too many games I need to...get through XD I have had an achilles heel also for indie game deals I find on my switch. Best time to consider it was last Halloween, but instead I opted to finally purchase "The Cat Lady" on steam. Game is pretty old now, but I remember LP's from so long ago, and it made such an impact on me. Still a fantastic horror game. Of course I...still haven't COMPLETED "The Cat Lady" yet so...probably should finish that first, haha.

Story Idea: Contrasting Yanderes
Before the holidays are up, I'll just throw out a random idea. I like the idea of stories that has two yanderes: one that serves as the "good" yandere and the other that serves as the "bad" yandere. You know, protagonist vs. antagonist or hero vs. villain.
There are different ways to make yandere characters you root for to get the S/O, or so despicable you want to see them taken down. If you put both in the same story...you get to have your cake and eat it too :D Lots of juicy moments.
Not to mention, an evil parallel for the hero to compare themselves to could bring some good character development. I have no skills with story telling, but if I did something I'd use a common story in the "public domain" territory for creativity. Holidays made me think of the ballets for "The Nutcracker" and then "Swan Lake."
I have nothing concrete, but I'll babble for fun below just basics I was considering.
The Nutcracker
"Good yandere"= the Nutcracker
S/O= Clara
"Bad yandere"= Mouse king (just make him a bishi, lol)
Not much drafted thought wise other than the two yanderes both fall in love with Clara and want her to come live with them, whilst of course the Mouse King is still trying to conquer the Nutcracker's kingdom. And poor Clara is just getting overwhelmed with the crazy fantasy she's just found herself in. She may even be torn between trying to find a solution, breaking the Nutcracker curse (if there is one) and/or just getting back to her normal life.
This kind of story I think would best be developed by first SERIOUSLY thinking about the loose story of the Nutcracker, the worlds of the characters and how the story should end. Should still be the Nutcracker ballet at heart in my opinion.
Swan Lake
"Good yandere"= Prince Derek
S/O= Odette
"Bad yandere"= Rothbart
Optional side character: Odile
If I ended up making a story myself and wanted to include Odile, I would NOT make Rothbart a yandere for Odette, but her dead mother instead. For those who don't know, Odile is from the original ballet and she's Rothbart's daughter. I'm not a personal fan of the idea of making Rothbart pine for a woman his daughter's age.
Rough idea is that Rothbart was in love with Odette's mother. Odette and Odile could be twins, but I think what I'd do is make Odile a little older and the daughter of Rothbart and the mother. I'd then have Odette's mother successfully flee at one point before getting pregnant a second time. The mother meets a prince, he agrees to hide her, they fall in love and get married. Odette's born from those two.
Many years later, Rothbart finds the mother or at least where she used to live. Debating whether she died of an illness before he gets there, or if she gets accidentally killed when Rothbart confronts the court. Regardless, Rothbart kills everyone, but can't bring himself to kill Odette because she's the spitting image of her mother. Rothbart's not in love with Odette, but does take and keep her prisoner via the curse. It's a way to keep the last remnant of his former love, but also spite the prince the mother married by not letting anyone else have Odette.
I don't know how to incorporate Odile yet, but having an additional character could be useful considering Swan Lake I feel to be more of a confined story than The Nutcracker.
Anyone is free to steal these ideas. I might try something someday to see how far I get, but I really don't have strong storytelling or drawing skills. The other problem is actually with crafting a yandere myself XD Just analyzing yanderes vs. crafting one is two different things in my opinion.
Since I'm more of the "villain or horror" yandere lover, I'd first be worried I'd either end up hardly making the "good yandere" a yandere at all. Or the opposite where he still ends up too messed up to be "good." And with the villain yanderes in these scenarios, I would have to make sure I don't go nuts to the point where they don't accidentally end up as yangires instead or something. You need a clear line between the two different yanderes, but also a smart balance for each character.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Or just Happy Holidays to everyone! I'll be going on a short trip for a week, so I won't be posting anything until I come back, but I will probably be liking things in the shadows as per usual.
In the meantime, thank you so much for all the donations and reblogs on my kofi post. I was honestly really happy to see everyone's support for me and I really appreciate it so much! Special thanks to @bunniesovercats for their commissions as well.
I was thinking (and was thinking for quite a while) to design and sell stickers specifically for male yandere based content, but I either kept on putting it off or chickening out. Since I already revamped my blog website, I think it would be nice to be able to set up a little store for it sometime close in the future (plus, I think it would be nice for some cash while I'm still looking for a job).
I made a little strawpoll with some more popular male yanderes that would be cool to make into stickers. If you have suggestions on other ideas, please feel free to tell me.
Other than that, I'll see you in a bit!
