The new season of 9-1-1 starts with a bang in the form of a cruise ship disaster. I just went on a cruise myself and planning another one. One of my coworkers keeps sending me bad weather and crazy cruise videos so she sent me the trailer for the season premiere with “new fear unlocked”.

Listen..if that happened on my cruise I would want no one else but Bobby and Athena on board dealing with the situation and their kids from the 118 on the way to our rescue. (Unless you added in an assist from the 126 of course)

Today on Apparently Unpopular Opinions:

Owen did NOT abandon TK like some drama queen in 3x04 and leave him in a coma to go be a hero and "make it about himself".

Owen, faced with the prospect of potentially having to make the decision to remove his CHILD from life support, wanted to be doing anything but that. If he's doing anything else, he postpones what might be the inevitable choice. He can focus on doing something instead of feeling helpless.

And him going to his knees in the snow? Again, not drama behavior. They found Grace, helped her bring her child into the world, and now everyone is safe, there's nothing that needs to be done....except to go back to the hospital. (Because at that point no one else but Carlos and Andrea likely know TK is awake)

Y'all need to stop making Owen something he's not and attributing poor behavior to him using examples that aren't appropriate. Owen's no saint, but he isn't a bad father.

I'm just saying.

I had a weird dream where this happened but with different people but ever since I can't get it out of my head AND I can't get over how this seemed perfect for my sweet boys so...

TK: Babe! Babe, look!

Carlos: Yes, cariño, I see them.

TK: They're so cute!

Carlos: ...yeah. Yeah they're...uh...adorable.

TK: .....

TK: I want to pet them.

Carlos: Baby, no.

TK: But they look so soft and fluffy. I have to pet them.

Carlos: *long suffering sigh filled with love* TK...we are in Yellowstone National Park and those are wild bison. Bison, baby. Don't you see the news stories of people getting too close to one of them? They're like 2000 pounds and they'll kill you.

TK: *pouts* I still want to pet one.

I decided I want at least one scene next season with Owen and Andrea where it’s clear they get together now and again and have lunch or coffee or something and he checks in on her just to make sure she’s doing okay (even though I’m sure Carlos does/will) and they chat about “what they’re gonna do” about their danger-and-accident-magnet sons.

I can’t even deal with all the emotions from the finale. Like I don’t even want to start a commentary because it’s a lot.

I think I’ll stick to happy thoughts:

MY PERFECTLY IMPERFECT SWEET SOFT DARLING BOYS ARE MARRIED! THEY ARE MARRIED!!

And the wedding was everything!! The vows, the vows my lovelies! Perfection.

And I was holding it together pretty well but I LOST it completely and was wrecked by Gwyn being there. Ugly crying happened.

I don’t know how other people feel about it and I’m not here for a debate but I am so so pleased with how the writers dealt with Robert’s request to Owen to help him die.

The right to die with dignity is such a hard topic but so often shows that touch on it end up finding a way to “convince” the character to not go through with it and to “live the time they have left”. I am glad Lonestar did not try to do that.

I live for anytime Judd busts out the "my wife is a badass and you done messed up when you didn't listen to her." Him being all soft and protective is just the perfect added bonus.

I also live for any Carlos and Grace team-up because they both have "must protect brother/sister who doesn't need protection but I'm gonna do it anyway" vibes and they both are such empathetic and caring people that they meld so well as a team.

Today on Apparently Unpopular Opinions:

Y'all need to STOP with the forcing kids on Carlos and TK - especially the "they're going to find a baby at some emergency and end up adopting it" trope. Carlos has valid reasons for not wanting kids or not wanting them yet and acting like "oh he'll be fine once he gets a kid" is invalidating how he feels in favor of either TK getting to have a kid because he wants one or your feelings that they'd make cute parents.

Sincerely - someone who has had to repeatedly be invalidated for not wanting kids and being told I'll want one some day or that I should just have one anyway and I'll change my mind when it pops out of me.
