I have 7 hours left to get this 10 page term paper done. I currently have two and a half pages written. I just finished reading the novel it's based on about an hour ago and have two articles pertaining to the topic that I changed last minute fully take a notes on and started on a third. This is getting done by 10:00 p.m. tonight I will be submitting it at least an hour or two and before the deadline of midnight thank you very much.

I don't know how I convinced my prof to let me write a paper on Elliot Rodger's manifesto (if you can call it that) for my term paper.

Anyways I hate to say it but so far (I'm on part 3), his prose is about on par with your average male paperback author. Long winded, almost pretty words, that both mean nothing but think they harbor a very deep meaning. Maybe things will pick up as his grievances against women increase but I doubt it, he's already been pretty gross.

The motif of puberty vs innocence is not something I expected to see. He basically equates envy and jealous with puberty, as if puberty is the original sin or something. It's interesting so far.

It's a pretty effective technique to write the manifesto in the guise of a suicide note/autobiography, it invites people to sympathize and to redirect the blame. It's especially effective on people who aren't used to unreliable narrators, inside or outside of fiction. And like a lot of documents in this genre, it's actually in some places close to saying something about our society. But it makes it a personal attack or never looking beyond the narrow view of the narrator's on frame of reference. i.e: women and being mixed race are the reason I'm not getting laid, so it's POC and women's fault. (I say poc rather than getting more specific because Rodgers is wasian, but he is also very racist against black people) Rather than looking at the historical/sociological reasons these prejudices are there. (Well the prejudices that are experienced by a "Valley kid".)

I still have academia papers to get through after reading this I'm going to die.

Also, I feel like I don't need to say this BUT: I don't support his actions nor am I going to "smol bean" him, he's a mass murderer who has created much of the current "incel" and alt right culture we see today.

Im so pissed, idk how I got covid I got my booster in November and I wear my mask everywhere except work because I don't want to be the only server not wearing a mask and make people feel weird.

I feel like shit, but not as bad when I got my first shot (moderna). I thought I had the flu out of season tbh. I'm just pissed I like hardly go out. Ugh.
