Growing up, I have never liked my face, my color, nor my body. I grew up being surrounded with people who have beautiful faces. All of my bestfriends were pretty, while they regard me as the smart one. They always received compliments about how beautiful they are, while I received compliments about my grades. And I thought, I don’t want to be just smart.

But growing old, I realized I was wrong with my perception of beauty. The society made us believe that pretty girls are dumb, while smart girls are nerds. They’re wrong. Because someone’s beauty should not to based on how smart or capable they are. Being pretty is not just having a pretty face. Your heart, character, mind and soul say so much more than what your face could ever say. Beauty is from the inside out. Beauty is confidence. And now I appreciate my own self so much more than before.

I may not have the prettiest face out there, but I am more than that.

You got to love him through the boring days. Because truth is, love is not always happy and fun. There will be days like you don’t want to get up, or even talk. It’s not always fancy. And that’s what makes love even more meaningful, because even if there are days that are just utterly dull, the love doesn’t just fade away. Contrary to popular stereotypes and cinematic tropes, love is not perfect. And if you are truly in love, nothing is needed to prove that love is there—because it just exists.
