Cleaning Out The Refridgerator
Izuku never knew a life without his mother. It was always Inko and Izuku against the world. Izuku never once met his father Hisashi and he couldn’t bring himself to care.
Inko was everything Izuku needed and without her being at the forefront of his life, he’d never become the person he was. It was all thanks to his mother.
Inko died at the age of sixty. It was out of the blue and she had died of a heart attack. Izuku was only thirty-five. The day he got the call his mother had died was the worst day of his life.
His hero work kept him busy and he rarely got days off. Whenever Izuku managed to get the time, he’d always have dinner dates with his mother. It was clear Inko had appreciated those little moments together.
They’d cook together, catch up on life, and just cuddle for hours. They felt like the time they shared always slipped away and those moments felt so short even if they spent the whole day together.
Izuku and Katsuki got married at the young age of 20. They didn’t want to waste a moment and desired to experience all life had to offer.
When they were sixteen, they watched the other die. They knew how fragile and short life could be. Death was promised and they wanted to enjoy the life they had left.
Holidays and celebrations were always a grand event. Inko and Mitsuki would often hang out together, but having their family members join them for a party was an exhilarating experience. Every day, every moment, was lived to the fullest.
Izuku could say there was so much more he wished he could have experienced with his mother, but he was satisfied with the time he did have with his mother.
It didn’t make things any better, but having no regrets was something that made Izuku grieve his loss without any guilt laced with it. Izuku could miss the amazing woman Inko was and miss his perfect mother.
For months, Izuku was inconsolable. Katsuki did everything in his power to help Izuku through Inko’s death, but he couldn’t imagine the pain Izuku was going through. Katsuki loved Inko dearly, but he didn’t know what it was like to lose his mother. Katsuki didn’t even want to imagine a life without Mitsuki.
It was a random Friday when Mitsuki had invited Izuku over to have some tea and talk. It was nice to just talk to someone who cherished Inko just as much.
Mitsuki was crying, hugging Izuku. “I ran out of her pickled daikon radish! I don’t know what to do!”
Izuku paused, feeling something click in his mind. Even if Inko was no longer with him, there was something she did that no random person in the world could mimic. Inko’s cooking and baking were inimitable. The only person on the planet who could make Inko’s recipe was Izuku.
Izuku pulled back, his hands resting on Mitsuki’s shoulders. “I’ll make you some!”
Mitsuki’s eyes widen, blinking away her tears in surprise. “Really? You’d do that for me?”
“Yes, I’d love to make it for you,” reassured Izuku, his face filled with an excitement he hadn’t felt in a long time.
Mitsuki seemed to melt, relief flooding her. “Thank you, Izuku. I can’t wait to taste it!”
Izuku grinned, quickly hugging Mitsuki again. “You won’t be able to tell I made it, trust me.”
The next day rolled around and a beautiful Saturday greeted Izuku. Izuku threw himself up and took over the kitchen. The windows were opened and the morning breeze lulled Izuku into a peaceful rhythm.
The sunlight warmed his skin, matching the warmth his heart felt while making the same food Inko happily prepared him when he was a child.
Katsuki walked over and instantly spotted the mess. Shaking his head with a small smile, Katuski made his way over. Wrapping his arms around Izuku’s waist, Katsuki pressed a tender kiss to Izuku’s temple. “What are you getting into?”
“Just cleaning out the fridge,” fibbed Izuku, knowing Katsuki wasn’t going to buy it.
“Sure and I’m not your husband,” remarked Katsuki, giving Izuku a gentle squeeze.
Izuku sat down the knife before turning around to hug Katsuki. “I’m making some pickled radish for your mother.”
Katsuki paused before a look of recognition crossed his face. “She’s probably over the moon knowing you can keep supplying her addiction. She’s obsessed with Inko’s pickled food for as long as I remember.”
“Yeah, I can’t believe I was so depressed I forgot that I can remake all the foods my mom made by heart,” chuckled Izuku, snuggling into Katsuki’s secure hold.
“Anything I can do to help?” questioned Katsuki, knowing the answer was going to be no, but he wanted to check anyway.
Izuku shook his head before pecking Katsuki on the lips. “Nope. This is quick and easy to make.”
Katsuki nodded before releasing Izuku. “I’ll leave you to it.”
Within thirty minutes, Katsuki heard a loud thumping in the kitchen. Rushing out, Katsuki watched as Izuku jumped in place, filled with excitement as he was chewing. Katsuki sank in relief upon witnessing the childlike joy written in Izuku’s expression and bouncing.
Izuku spotted Katsuki staring and quickly shoved the pickled radish into Katsuki’s mouth. Katsuki immediately could tell why Izuku was so excited. The crunchy yellow radish tasted exactly like the kind he had eaten his entire life. It was identical to Inko’s.
Izuku knew that if he kept making food that tasted identical to his mother’s, he’d never stop eating. If food was how he planned to keep his mother alive, he’d happily eat each meal like it would be his last.
“Good job, Izuku. It’s perfect,” complimented Katsuki, diving in for more.
“It’s so wonderful,” cried Izuku, following his husband's lead and eating more.
Inko may be gone, but for the rest of Izuku’s life, he’d never have to live a day without her beautiful, one-of-a-kind meals. Inko showed her love through food and Izuku would forever be grateful that homemade meals will forever be their thing. Even after death.

I'll Give You a Reason to Cry
Midoriya was thrilled to take Katsuma under his wing once he passed the UA entrance exam. UA High offered housing for those who didn’t have a place to stay, but anyone living at home could commute if they desired. Katsuma had no problem staying at the dorms, but his father had his reservations.
Katsuma's father recalled the young hero who saved his son. Reaching out to Midoriya, the father asked if Midoriya would be okay with hosting Katsuma while he attended UA High. Midoriya already had Kota staying in his place since he lived right next to UA and had no problem having another kid stay.
His apartment had felt very empty alone, so he appreciated the company.
Katsuma and Kota got along much to Midoriya’s joy. Kota saw a lot of Midoriya in Katsuma and took it upon himself to protect Katsuma no matter the costs. Katsuma was introduced to Eri through Kota and boom, a friend group was formed.
It wasn’t until a couple of months before their first year ended that Kota approached Midoriya to explain his worries about Katsuma’s girlfriend. The girl was from the business department.
According to Kota, the chick was trying to keep Katsuma away from him and Eri. That information wouldn’t be as concerning if it weren’t for the fact the girl would get angry if Katsuma talked to them.
Midoriya wasn't inexperienced in the dating world. Midoriya knew what kinds of people to stay away from romantically. He had been in many failed relationships, but most of the time it was because he knew his worth and what he wanted out of life.
Midoriya knew that the red light was blinking and the warning sirens were blaring. Kota's explanation was enough to concern Midoriya. Midoriya would kill for his children. There was no way he was going to let some grubby future Hero Commission worker hurt his baby.
Kota knew just how far Midoriya would go for those he cared about and was more than happy to throw the emotionally and verbally abusive girlfriend under the bus.
Unfortunately, Midoriya didn’t have to initiate the conversation because the following day Katsuma came home crying. Midoriya told Kota to give them a moment, not wanting to risk Katsuma hiding information because Kota was with them.
Kota and Katsuma got along, but sometimes embarrassing things happen in a relationship. Midoriya wasn't naive. After all, he went to UA High and his classmates were less than innocent when their third year at the school rolled around.
“Katsuma? What happened?” cooed Midoriya, letting the young teen rush into his arms.
“It’s Okamura," wept Katsuki, hiding his face in Midoriya's baggy shirt.
Midoriya tried to not sound aware of what was going on to get a full explanation. “Okamura? Your girlfriend? What did she do?”
“I was just talking to Shoji-sensei with Kota and Eri about your upcoming patrol. Okamura must have been watching and started screaming in my face about how I was hiding stuff from her and that I was a horrible boyfriend,” cried Katsuma, clearly distressed that he was screamed at for no reason.
Midoriya did everything in his power to not walk out of the home, tell the kid’s parents everything, and then tell Nezu to expel her. No one made his son cry, especially for no reason.
Midoriya let out a soft sigh before pulling back and cupping Katsuma’s wet face and using his thumbs to wipe away tears. “Has she done stuff like this before?”
“Yes, all the time. She won’t let me have any friends. She’s constantly trying to make me sneak out and spend the night,” revealed Katsuma, making it clear that Okamura isn’t respecting his boundaries or what he cares about.
Midoriya was becoming more worried than anything else. It was clear what Okamura was trying to pressure Katsuma into doing. Midoriya understood Katsuma was getting older and it wouldn’t be shocking if he was curious about sex. But, if Katsuma wasn’t interested in doing it and Okamura was trying to get Katsuma to do dangerous things even if he wasn’t interested, that was a serious problem.
“If she gets this angry at the little things, she will only get worse as time passes. This girl doesn’t respect the people you care about. She doesn’t value your space or privacy. She doesn’t care about your comfort. I’ll support whatever decision you make, but don’t expect me to allow her to step foot in this house because if I see her, she’ll be too scared to even look your way once I’m done talking to her,” said Midoriya in a scarily calm voice.
Katsuka weakly smiled, simply sinking into Midoriya’s touch and hiding his face into Midoriya's puffy sweater. “I’m scared to end things with her.”
“Don’t be. She’d be stupid to try messing with you. Having you under my wing, every hero in the school would be willing to die for you. Okamura would be expelled immediately as well. She's not fit to be a hero if she lashed out at you," reassured Midoriya, brushing Katsuma's bangs around to fluff them.
"You're right. I'll ask Eri and Kota to be nearby when I do it!" chirped Katsuma, feeling a lot better about getting himself out of a bad relationship.
Three days have passed since Katsuma ended his relationship with Okamura. The breakup was far from easy and peaceful. Eri had to step in when it sounded like Okamura was preparing to strike Katsuma. Kota had been waiting for the moment Okamura tried anything so he had permission to physically intervene.
After the breakup, Okamura wasn't backing down. It was clear she wasn't when Kota and Eri couldn't find Katsuma one day. When they were looking around, they soon realized they couldn't find Okamura either. Kota and Eri's calls went to voicemail when they attempted to call Katsuma.
Panicking, the duo ran to the teacher's lounge to help them find Katsuma. Nezu caught the drift of what was happening and quickly checked the cameras only to find Okamura forcefully dragging Katsuma to a vacant classroom.
Kota tried to beat the heroes to Okamura, but they got to the empty classroom first. Katsuma was unconscious and Okamura was caught red-handed restraining a beaten-up Katsuma to a chair. Heroes were sent to capture and restrain the teen.
None of the adults knew what to do. When it came to Midoriya, no one messed with his kids. When it came to children in general, Midoriya would happily destroy anyone who even tried to put a child in harm's way.
The adults were evenly split about telling Midoriya. Half wanted to fix the problem in privacy knowing Midoriya would raise hell. The other half wanted to immediately tell him so hell wasn’t raised upon them, there was no stopping Midoriya and he would find out any moment now.
While the adults were deciding what to do, Kota urgently called Midoriya.
"Izuku! Izuku!" shouted Kota, not waiting for Midoriya to greet him.
Deku, who was currently in the middle of capturing a villain alongside his hero partner Dynamight, froze at Kota's frantic tone. "Kota? What happened? What's going on?"
"It's Katsuma! Okamura-," started Kota, only to be cut off.
"I'm on my way," announced Midoriya in an eerily calm tone.
All Kota could do was smile as Midoriya ended the call abruptly. His dad was pissed and Okamura was going to wish she never met Katsuma when Midoriya was done with him.
Bakugo blasted the villain, watching the police force rush to capture the unconscious villain. Turning to Midoriya, Bakugo froze when he saw Midoriya's dark expression.
"Izuku? What the hell?" yelled Bakugo over the sirens.
"Something happened. I'm heading to UA. Right. Now," seethed Midoriya, shooting his gaze to his best friend.
"I'm coming with. You look like you're going to kill someone," remarked Bakugo, eager to see what was about to go down.
Midoriya chuckled to himself, freaking out Bakugo. "Oh, once I know what that dumb girl did, I just might."
Katsuma was in the nurse's office, currently getting his vitals checked since no one knew exactly what Okamura did to knock someone as strong as Katsuma out. The adults were still discussing their mode of action when Nezu revealed that Midoriya was here.
The adults were panicking, trying to figure out what they were going to tell the number one hero. Their panic only doubled when they found out the number two hero, Midoriya's hero partner, the one and only Bakugo Katsuki, was with him.
Kota and Eri were beside Bakugo as Midoriya took the lead. Midoriya entered the nurse's office, immediately tending to Katsuma. "I'm going to kill that little punk. I guess she is stupid enough to hurt one of my precious jewels."
Katsuma silently cried into Midoriya's chest, feeling safe in the presence of his guardian. "She... she."
Midoriya shushed Katsuma, seeing that Katsuma was not ready to talk about what happened. Turning to the new nurse, the pro-hero Healflame, Midoriya tried to remain kind.
"What did Okamura do?"
"From what I can tell, she failed to properly inject Katsuma with an unknown substance I'm getting tested now. Okamura also physically attacked Katsuma once she injected the substance into him, most likely the way Katsuma ended up unconscious. There will be some bruising on his head, wrists, and legs, but is fine otherwise."
Midoriya screamed at Nezu, Katsuma's teacher, and Okamura's teacher. The fact that Okamura wasn't in handcuffs only enhanced his rage.
"So you failed to protect my child, but you are now protecting a criminal? That monster practically kidnapped and assaulted my child in this school and you all are protecting her?" shrieked Midoriya, his face growing red from how angry he was.
Nezu bowed his head and sighed, "We can't do anything. Okamura's case depends on Katsuma."
"And you wanna know why you can't do anything? My son was knocked un-fucking-conscious!" Midoriya couldn't help but laugh in disbelief. "You know, after all the shit my class went through in our time here, you still manage to fail to protect children Nezu."
Nezu remained silent, staring at Midoriya in shock and hurt. Everyone in the room knew Midoriya hit where it hurt. No one could blame Midoriya because what he said was true.
Shoji rushed to bow before Midoriya. "I sincerely apologize for the harm I have caused Katsuma and I'm planning on apologizing to him personally. He mentioned Okamura was a bit on the crazy side, but I didn't know to the extent. I have failed your son and I promise to make it up to the both of you."
Midoriya smiled, patting Shoji's shoulder before giving it a tight squeeze. "The first thing you can do to make it up to me is to get that brat's parents here... now."
Shoji nodded, leaving the room to make the calls. Bakugo marched over and crossed his arms. "This is why you can't even break the top ten. If you paid attention and cared about your students, none of this shit would've happened."
Kota scoffed, "They didn't even seem to hurry when I told them to find Katsuma!"
"Yeah, they tried to tell us that we were being dramatic," ranted Eri, happy to call out the teacher's neglect.
Midoriya looked at Bakugo. "Kacchan."
"What nerd?"
"I need you to stop me if I can't hold back anymore."
Bakugo nodded, the only one equipped to stop Midoriya if he lost his cool. It wasn't often that Midoriya lost control of his emotions, but then again, Midoriya always struggled to control his heart when those he loved were hurt.
When Okamura's parents finally arrived, Midoriya guided them to a private room to discuss what happened. Midoriya genuinely believed that if he talked to the parents, they'd come to a resolution.
It didn't take long for Midoriya and Okamur's parents to disagree.
"Our precious daughter would never do that!" cried the girl's mother.
Midoriya narrowed his eyes, getting suspiciously calm. "Oh? So you want to play that game."
The woman wasn't having any of it. "How dare you insinuate our child was capable of harming Katsuma! She loves that boy with all her heart!"
"You're daughter may have loved my kid, but she had a horrible way of showing it. Your daughter is the reason why they broke up, she made my son cry. Your child is a demented lunatic! She assaulted my kid!" argued Midoriya, his composure slipping.
The woman gasped, pointing a finger at Midoriya. "You're crazy! I don't care if you're some hot-shot hero, you're the crazy one!"
"I don't care if protecting my son makes me crazy. And... just so you know, parent to parent, I don't care what you say anymore. I was willing to come to some kind of resolution, but that's over now. I won't let your criminal of a child get away with what she did and she will not be getting away with a lousy slap on the wrist. Her future is over," promised Midoriya heartlessly.
"You can't do this!" exploded the woman, her face bright red as panic settled in her gut.
"Oh, but I can, and I am more than happy to let you know that your daughter will never become a hero because I am going to get her banned from this school and all other hero schools. Your child is a villain and if she does manage to get away with this... I will make sure that the rest of her life is a hell she can't escape,” vowed Midoriya, his smile anything but welcoming.
Midoriya happily got up and left the horrified mom and neglectful dad in the room. Opening the door, Midoriya was met with Bakugo and Kota eavesdropping. Midoriya rolled his eyes at Bakugo's stunned expression.
"Damn Izuku. You should date me," suggested Bakugo, shooting his shot.
Kota fake gagged, offended. "Back off old man!"
Midoriya patted Bakugo's bicep. "Ask me later Kacchan. I'm in the middle of something."
"The middle of being a badass," complimented Kota, smiling at the memory of Midoriya giving those parents a piece of his mind.
Thankfully with Midoriya's power and status, Okamura was expelled and charged with assault even though most children don't ever get serious charges. The substance Okamura tried to inject Katsuma with was another piece of evidence that made it easy for Midoriya to get his way.
Katsuma had a quick recovery and his bond with Midoriya somehow managed to get even stronger. Kota and Eri also managed to get even closer to Katsuma, growing even more overprotective. Midoriya was happy to shelter and defend the kids who were put under his care.
No one fucked with Midoriya’s kids.

Do Not Engage
There was never a dull moment with class 2A. Sure, sometimes a normal day would be nice, but realistically all the teens were used to it. With everything that happened in their first year of UA and the first couple of months of their second year, most days were eventful in a non-life-threatening way.
There was a giant shift in the class dynamic. Sure, everyone was close, but the bond was incredibly close. It was safe to say class 2A turned into one giant family.
There were also new developments. For instance, romantic relationships bloomed. Kirishima and Mina were the first to announce their relationship. After seeing how fast their life can come to an end, they didn’t want to waste another moment worrying about being rejected or ruining a friendship.
Kaminari and Jiro followed shortly after. Kaminari had a revelation during the first war that the mere thought of Jiro brought him strength. They had been tip-toeing around their feelings, too wrapped up in the chaos surrounding them to address their feelings for one another.
The most anticipated relationship was between Bakugo and Midoriya. They went through hell together, both dying during the war. Only with a miracle did they both get successfully resuscitated and recover fully. Bakugo’s heart exploded and Deku suffocated from Gearshift. Both of their hearts completely stopped. Midoriya saw Bakugo’s dead body after being dragged away. Bakugo watched as Midoriya dropped dead when the fight was over.
The duo was in recovery for months, their bodies struggling to recover from overexerting their quirks to the point of death. Similar to the others, they soon realized that with the time they had left, they wanted to spend it together. They lived in a world where the other no longer existed, no matter how long or short they were dead. They never wanted to live in a world where the other didn’t exist.
The relationship was kept between the class and the teachers. No one else in the entire world knew. They were able to love one another in the privacy of the school.
Outside of UA, the entire class was celebrities for their part in the war. Society fell apart and was built back up again. Midoriya and Bakugo were recognized as the wonder duo. Deku Midoriya and Kacchan Bakugo. Hero Deku and Hero Dynamight.
Unfortunately, some adults should never be around kids, but they were. It was an average interview, but of course, things didn’t go to plan. The wonder duo was at another interview to discuss their lives and the aftermath of the war. Reporters were notorious for either being amazing or horrible. Unfortunately, the one the duo was dealing with was a bad one.
The girl was very clearly flirting with Midoriya and at one point tried feeling his abs underneath his hero suit. Midoriya froze, feeling beyond violated. Bakugo was fuming, not only pissed but jealous that some woman was touching Midoriya. One glance at Bakugo’s face was all it took for Midoriya to have the strength to defend himself on live television.
Slapping the woman's hand away while shoving her away, Midoriya spat, “Touch me again and I’ll put you through the fucking floor.”
Bakugo grabbed Midoriya by the forearm and pulled him away. “We are leaving nerd. This pervert isn’t to be trusted to keep her hands to herself.”
“Wait, please don’t go!” begged the woman, rushing over.
Midoriya turned his attention to her and did his best to not have a visible reaction. “Why would I stay?”
“I didn’t expect you to get upset. Let’s restart!” insisted the woman, bowing her head.
“As if hag,” scoffed Bakugo, pulling Midoriya impossible closer. “You haven’t even bothered to try and apologize and you’re blaming Deku for being uncomfortable when you are the one who tried to touch him like a freak.”
“You’re weird and I’d rather not answer any questions you have for me. Let’s go Kacchan,” agreed Midoriya, finally sending a glare to the entire crew.
As the adult was begging for them to say, the duo was rushing out of the room. They’d rather relax at the dorms than worry about the stupid interview. Bakugo pulled Midoriya close and bit his cheek as soon as they were on campus.
Midoriya yelped, but let Bakugo hold him close. “Kacchan?”
“That was hot as fuck Izuku,” complimented Bakugo, happy to watch Midoriya tell someone off.
Midoriya grinned, sinking his face into Bakugo’s chest, breathing in the familiar scent of caramel mixed with the faint smell of his cologne. “Only for Kacchan.”
Bakugo barked a laugh, fondly smacking the back of Midoriya’s head. “Hey! Save it for later.”
“Okay.” Midoriya bashfully grinned, releasing Bakugo. Suddenly recalling something, Midoriya cheered, “Let’s have Katsudon!”
Bakugo rolled his eyes but wasn’t going to argue. Midoriya surprised him with super spicy mapo tofu earlier that week. Midoriya even paid a visit to Fuyumi Todoroki to make it perfect. Their love language was every kind of love language. Acts of service, physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, and receiving gifts.
When they entered the dorms, Aizawa was already waiting for them as the rest of their classmates were gathered in the common room. The duo were happily holding hands, excited about lunch. The sight of Aizawa waiting for them initially scared them, but soon relaxed remembering the interview happened.
“Are you okay Midoriya?” questioned Aizawa, hearing about what happened on the news.
“Yeah, I’m okay,” sighed Midoriya, letting go of Bakugo’s hand to get closer to Aizawa. “Just a bit shaken up.”
Aizawa nodded, fist-bumping Midoriya’s chest. “Don’t worry kid. I already have Nezu working with the company about what occurred. We are making sure that woman never has a job dealing with minors ever again.”
Bakugo grinned, stepping forward. “Good. Extra needs to learn her place. If Midoriya hadn’t done something I would’ve blasted her ass to space.”
Midoriya grinned, never feeling safer as Aizawa and Bakugo talked about the ways they wanted to keep him safe. Aizawa ended up following class 1A throughout the years with Nezu’s permission. Sure, Aizawa was the best at raising young heroes, but he needed his kids and his kids needed him.
Aizawa simply nodded at what Bakugo said and turned his attention back to Midoriya. “As long as you're okay kid. I’m proud of you for setting your boundaries.”
Midoriya grinned, feeling a secure hand on his waist. “Thank you. I was happy to make it clear I don’t tolerate unsolicited touch.”
Bakugo guided Midoriya to the kitchen attached to the common room only to hear the crowd rushing over. Uraraka practically tackled Midoriya as she screamed, “I’m so proud of you!”
Kaminari laughed, his arm hanging around Jiro’s shoulder. “Yeah, that was really fun to watch.”
Jiro grinned, nodding at the duo. “Watching Bakugo get all huffy and overprotective was hilarious.”
“I thought it was rather adorable. Besides, we were all freaking out when she touched Midoriya,” chuckled Momo with a nod and a fond smile on her face as she looked at an irritated Bakugo.
Todoroki held up his phone, pointing to where Aizawa was napping. “I told Aizawa about what happened so he could get the lady in trouble.”
Midoriya couldn’t help but laugh from where he and Uraraka were lying on the ground. “You guys are crazy.”
“Nah bro, what that lady did was unacceptable. We were all excited to watch the interview, but we were more excited to see you two put her in her place,” complimented Kirishima as he shook his head, walking over to where the group was starting to congregate.
“Honestly, what a nightmare,” sighed Mina, disgusted that a grown adult thought it was okay to touch a teenager like that on live television.
Midoriya nodded, allowing Bakugo to pull him up onto his feet. “Sure I was irritated, but honestly I wouldn’t have stood up for myself if it wasn’t for the fact I’m madly in love with Kacchan.”
Bakugo elbowed Midoriya, eyes narrowed despite the way his face was flushed a beautiful red. “You better be! I’m the best.”
“Kacchan is the best,” declared Midoriya, wearing a happy smile. “I’ll happily destroy anyone who tries to pull us apart.”
“Okay, calm down Freckles,” grumbled Bakugo, still flushed. He couldn’t deny that he liked it when Midoriya was all possessive. After a moment of silence, he mumbled, “Love you Izuku.”
Midoriya turned his body to crush Bakugo in a hug. “I love you too Kacchan!”
Class 2A was never going to let Bakugo hear the end of it.

Riding a Wave That Never Breaks
Manga spoilers and Dark themes
Sometimes you can’t escape your inner demons no matter how much time has passed. Four amazing years may pass, but that darkness is only one storm away.
Midoriya struggled a lot with depression growing up. Despite having a loving mother and a safe home environment, the torture he suffered through the day was too much.
Midoriya loved everything about the hero world and how he could escape into fantastic fantasies. He was constantly diving deep, imagining alternate universes where he was respected by his peers. Midoriya craved positive attention or for the hollow feeling inside him to vanish.
On the days Midoriya didn’t have school, he’d curl up in his bed and never move. Unless his mother sweetly called him for dinner or suggested some bonding time, the day was spent wasting away underneath a comforter.
Midoriya was lucky to have met Toshinori. The man gave Midoriya a sense of purpose that he had been missing. Toshinori saw something in Midoriya that Midoriya never saw in himself. It was like he was reborn, suddenly showered in affection, and given a list of things to do to better himself.
Midoriya trained his mind and body every day. Midoriya was eating healthy and filling meals three times a day. By the end of the day, Midoriya was ready to sleep. With getting proper sleep, intake of nutrients, and producing endorphins through intense training, Midoriya was feeling much better.
Despite the upward climb, there were times Midoriya gave into the gloom. He’d skip showering, not study, ignore the tangles in his hair, never change out his uniform at the end of the day, sleep the day away, not sleep at all, and a plethora of other things he did when things were getting bad.
Neglecting his needs was one thing, but he’d harm himself in more direct ways. He never thought much about it, simply seeing it as a way to relieve the tension in his head and the tightness in his chest. He did it in places he knew would never see the light of day.
In a short two years, Midoriya was seventeen and dealing with mountains of trauma he didn’t know how to digest. Midoriya was surrounded by people who brought out the best in him, but he could feel himself slipping.
“I’m not hungry, sorry.”
“I really needed to catch up on sleep.”
“Can we reschedule? I’m so sorry something came up.”
“Sorry, I’m a bit behind on my studies.”
“Maybe some other time?”
Midoriya slowly withdrew himself from his peers. With the door locked, lights off, and the silence of the soundproof walls made it easy for the sickening sweet voice in the back of his mind to grow louder.
“Was this all worth it?”
“You served your purpose, you aren’t needed anymore.”
“They probably are happy you aren’t around as much.”
“That sounds like so much work.”
“You really can’t amount to anything.”
“A lazy hero is good for nothing.”
With an empty stomach and an ache in his heart, Midoriya closed his eyes and slept the dark thoughts away. When an alarm broke him out of his nightmare, he slept through his usual morning run.
It didn’t take long for everyone to notice something was off. Todoroki, worried and unsure of what to do in this situation, practically fed Midoriya lunch, not giving him a chance to skip a meal. If he had to guilt-trip Midoriya into it he would.
“I got this just for you,” revealed Todoroki, extending out the warm bowl of katsudon.
Midoriya would softly smile, sitting next to his best friend and enjoying the warm meal. The perfect crunch of the breading and the juiciness of the pork nearly brought him to tears. It didn’t matter what meal it was, Midoriya would swallow every last bite to respect his friend's kindness.
Bakugo talked with Toshinori and Aizawa, knowing that they may no longer be Midoriya’s teachers, but they were parental figures. He knew something was wrong and this was bigger than him and his classmates. Aizawa and Toshinori weren’t constants in Midoriya’s life, but their value remained. Their assistance would mean so much more than the nineteen people who are constantly around him.
During the war, Midoriya never once reached out for help when he was working himself to death. If Midoriya was experiencing something that was troubling him or he couldn’t save himself from whatever he was going through, Bakugo would pull him out.
It seemed that Toshinori and Aizawa had a hunch that something like what was happening would happen soon enough. Aizawa knew very well that the trauma Midoriya refused to acknowledge would come back tenfold.
Toshinori knew the psychological damage he experienced over the years by dealing with his demons. Being the number one hero and having the entire world on his shoulders was a burden he wouldn’t wish on anyone. That’s why he originally gave Midoriya the quirk. He believed he was simply passing on a powerful quirk.
When it came out that All for One was not dead and that he had a successor, Toshinori felt guilt consume him. He put Midoriya in a situation far worse than the one he’d lived through.
Midoriya watched nearly all the people he cared about die and/or be on the brink of death. Midoriya watched thousands of innocent people die, unable to do anything. There was an evil far worse than any the world had seen before and Midoriya had to face it himself.
Midoriya had to shove all his emotions deep down as he was forced to see the corpse of someone he cherished dearly. Midoriya was a kid but wasn't in a position to handle the situation as one.
Midoriya was struggling with the trauma of the war and the pressure he was put under. Midoriya would forever be scarred from the responsibility placed in his hand. Yet, deep down, Midoriya was ashamed of the itch he had to be important.
There was this craving for chaos and the fight to the death. Suddenly nothing was going on and the feeling of worthlessness settled in. Midoriya didn't want innocent people to die again or for the world to be in danger, but he felt like something was missing without the danger.
The guilt of missing something so horrible killed him more than what he was put through. Maybe they were interconnected in some way but, in Midoriya's mind, wanting it to happen again was a different trauma response than his episode of depression.
Sometimes, Midoriya's brain filled itself with noise when the world was too quiet. The earth-shattering sounds of the battle and his scream mixing with the screams of the rest of the world would haunt him. The rare spots on his wall where there was no All Might merchandise, Midoriya's eyes would focus on the white wall and let the rest of his room fade away.
Midoriya could fall into a staring contest with his wall while standing, sitting, or lying down. There were no limits and he usually would catch himself doing it whenever he was in the security of his room. These moments of pure disassociation could last from anywhere of a couple of seconds to over an hour.
It was Saturday night and Bakugo was going to drag Midoriya down to study with the class. He figured surrounding him with everyone would help get him out of his head a bit. He always liked to think he knew Midoriya the best, but he didn't know the first thing to do to help Midoriya snap out of whatever mental decline he was trapped in.
"Izuku, I'm coming in," announced Bakugo, hand already turning the door handle.
Bakugo didn't think much about not receiving any response and opened the door. Midoriya was on his bed, lying on his side as he stared at his wall motionlessly.
"Nerd?"
Midoriya didn't seem to notice Bakugo or even signal he heard Bakugo address him. Bakugo started panicking, worried Midoriya was unresponsive. Bakugo started looking over Midoriya after dropping to his knees beside the bed.
"Shit, Izuku. Look at me!" begged Bakugo, reaching to check for a pulse. He cursed himself for not paying closer attention to Midoriya's health. It took seconds for Bakugo to feel the steady thumping of Midoriya's pulse under his fingers.
Midoriya blinked, feeling the warm touch and wanting to lean into it. His vision of the wall was blocked by Bakugo's worried expression and he couldn't help but feel like everything was okay for this split second in time.
Tears started falling and Midoriya couldn't find the strength in himself to stop. Midoriya let his whole body shake with each sob he let rip through his body. He hated feeling so hopeless and feeling stuck in such a horrible mindset. It was a scary feeling to have no control over.
Bakugo didn't need to hear anything to know that Midoriya needed him at that moment. Bakugo reached for Midoriya's hand and took it securely in his own before resting his forehead against Midoriya's. Rough and crooked fingers intertwined and squeezed soft and powerful fingers.
"I don't know what to do Kacchan," wept Midoriya, feeling safe to express himself.
Bakugo remained quiet momentarily before letting his gut do the talking. "You don't have to know what to do all the time. Sometimes life sucks and you have to let others make it less shitty."
Midoriya cried harder, pulling out his other hand to gently wrap it against Bakugo's wrist. "I can't do this anymore."
"And you don't have to. I'm here. If you can't handle burdens on your own, I'm here. Let me help, Izuku," stressed Bakugo, brushing Midoriya's bangs out of his forehead. "I'll be there to save you every time you need a hero."
Midoriya felt like the room was no longer caving in on him and that the world finally had air to spare. His grip on Bakugo momentarily tightened before he took a deep breath. There was something so incredible about Bakugo and how he never failed to be Midoriya's anchor. Bakugo never failed to reach his hand out to lift Midoriya out of the pit he was trapped in.
“Let’s go take a shower, grab you something to eat, and how about we go study? You don’t need to be alone and if you get overwhelmed we can ditch,” guided Bakugo as he removed his one hand from Midoriya’s bangs to poke his freckles.
Still feeling vulnerable, Midoriya let out a shaky breath. “Yeah, can you just stay here with me for a bit?”
Bakugo rose from his uncomfortable position and crashed beside Midoriya on his bed. “You could ask me to destroy the world and I’d do it.”
Midoriya smiled, feeling his cheeks heat up by the powerful confession. “You sure know how to make a boy feel special.”
“After existing in a world without you… I never wanted to experience it again.”
Midoriya suddenly realized he had something he could use to anchor himself down. He remembered seeing Bakugo lying in the crumbling field of injured heroes. He remembered the dread that filled him upon seeing the sickeningly beautiful sight of Bakugo’s peaceful resting expression. The crushing horror of seeing his unbreathing, bloodied body would forever haunt his dreams.
Why would he give up a life where Bakugo was right next to him?
“I never want to experience it either,” professed Midoriya, feeling a warmth fill his chest, seeing the scars that littered Bakugo’s body. Those scars were proof that this boy before him would always defy and twist fate to come back to him.
The downward spiral ended when he was forced to remember every wonderful thing he had to live for. He had to live for Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, Eri, Aizawa, Toshinori, his mother, and the surplus of people whom he never wanted to live without.
Overcoming depression wasn’t easy and his recovery wasn’t going to be fast. There would be those moments when the exhaustion that filled him was too much or the pressure of outside expectations killed his appetite and kept him up at night. The battle was a lot easier being surrounded by people who never failed to bring a smile to his face.
Freshly cleaned and fed, Midoriya had his bookbag filled with unfinished homework and study guides. Bakugo was right next to him, wearing an accomplished grin as he plopped down next to Midoriya. The excited greetings of his classmates washed away any bits of anxiety that he may have had left.
“Ready to get this study game on?” questioned Kirishima happily upon seeing two of his best buds appear together.
“Yeah! I’ll admit I’m a bit behind,” admitted Midoriya meekly.
Iida seemed to not care about the fact that Midoriya got behind on schoolwork and smiled warmly. “Well let’s get you caught up!”
Midoriya eagerly nodded, feeling the buzz of his classmate's excitement rub off on him. They were all gathered together to study, but Midoriya couldn’t help but be overjoyed to be with them at that moment.
Things would be okay.

Come on In, the Waters is Fine
Morning sunshine. Soft blankets overlapping. Tender touches of love affirmation. Red eyes that are as vibrant as rubies. Blond hair that is soft to the touch. Strong muscles that served as a fortress of unwavering safety.
Izuku Midoriya was not a morning person. Don’t be mistaken, he does wake up early every day nonetheless. The chill of the morning and the struggle to go on that morning run was a daily battle. Then Katsuki Bakugo flipped Izuku’s relationship with the morning upside down like a sunny-side-up egg.
The first time Izuku woke up with Katsuki by his side, he cried. The scene was so surreal. It surpassed perfection. Izuku was overwhelmed by the simplicity of waking up beside the love of his life. The warm palms and static fingertips that grazed his waist and pulled him close were addicting.
Izuku would do the same thing every morning. Katsuki would remain asleep with his mind in a foreign state of peace. Izuku would kiss Katsuki’s forehead softly. Rubbing Katsuki’s cheek softly, Izuku would admire his beauty. Izuku would snuggle closer and bask in the warmth capturing him.
The chill of the morning didn’t phase Izuku anymore. Warm and fulfilling, breakfast would be prepared and eaten when he returned. Izuku and Katsuki would sit together and have a private, domestic moment in the sanctuary their home was.
Izuku would be showered in love and reciprocate the affection without a second thought.
Katsuki adored Izuku. Katsuki couldn't imagine a world without Izuku in it. Even if he could, he'd rather die than live a life without him. After everything they'd been through, they constantly tend to each other.
Their patrols went smoothly, but hero work was harsh on the body no matter how easy their shift was. On this particular day, Izuku stayed in their agency building to catch up on paperwork while Katsuki patroled.
They usually patrolled together, but Izuku knew that if he didn't start on the pile of paperwork that was accumulating, he'd be drowning soon enough. He'd rather keep his shifts as short as possible. Besides, he didn't mind the boring work when he could listen to music or talk with employees.
Katsuki had stopped a robbery, helped a lost kid, and captured two wanted villains by the end of his shift. Izuku finished all the paperwork and fixed up their schedule to accommodate some meetings and interviews.
When their front door clicked behind them, Izuku took Katsuki by the hand and led him to the bathroom. While Katsuki was busy stripping off his hero suit, Izuku was starting the bath.
With one hand, Katsuki could count the times they bathed together. It wasn't that they thought it was gross or they didn't want to do it together, but their bathtub wasn't the biggest for two grown men.
Izuku stripped and the two slipped into the water. After soaking for a bit, Katsuki reached for the shampoo, but Izuku softly took it from his grasp.
"Let me take care of you tonight," breathed Izuku in a soft voice that never failed to turn Katsuki into putty.
Izuku lathered his hands up with shampoo, smiling sweetly at Katsuki who wore an innocent look of surprise. Izuku reached his hands out and raked his fingers through Katsuki's soft, pointy locks of blond hair.
Katsuki couldn't help but close his eyes and lean into the touch. Izuku's scared hands and crooked fingers worked magic for Katsuki's scalp. He couldn't even kid himself, he felt like he was floating.
Izuku then started washing away sweat and grime off of Katsuki, gently kissing the scars that littered his body. This process carried on for minutes. Izuku’s touch was tender as he truly took the time to treasure and care for the love of his life.
Katsuki had never been one to get overwhelmed or to cry, but he couldn't help it. The tears came before he could even process it. Izuku remained silent, simply wiping away the tears or kissing them away.
It was in these moments that the two knew they were soulmates. No words needed to be said. They could read each other like a book. They understood what one another's needs were and they were more than willing to meet the standards.
As Izuku began rinsing Katsuki's body, he also massaged his sweet spots. Katsuki's hero gear put a lot of pressure on his shoulders. It didn't help that to aim his quirk, it wore down his shoulders and back.
Katsuki grunted occasionally whenever Izuku successfully got out a knot of muscle. Izuku would chuckle and move to the next area. This cycle continued until the warm water grew cold.
After a quick second bath for Izuku to get cleaned and for them to rinse off, they finally dried off. Katsuki wrapped Izuku up in his arms and kissed him all over his face. Izuku's soft laughter echoed through their bedroom.
"I love you so fucking much Izuku."
"I love you too, Katsuki."

You Beautiful Little, Young Thing, You
Aldera - Izuku /// U.A. - Midoriya Aldera - Katsuki /// U.A - Bakugo
Midoriya was signing a little kid's pair of red sneakers when they accidentally hit him with their quirk. Midoriya squeaked as he was suddenly standing in a classroom with no shoes or marker in his hand.
His head immediately shot up, looking at his surroundings. Almost instantly he realized he was in the past. More specifically he was in the classroom that used to haunt his dreams. He was surrounded by the faces of his bullies. Instead of feeling fearful or panicked, his head snapped over to where his desk was.
There sat his past self, bewildered at the sudden appearance of a person in the middle of the classroom. Instead of freaking out, Midoriya clapped happily.
“Mini-me!”
The students were all petrified. The future version of their quirkless classmate looked nothing like they expected. He was still rather short even though he had grown a couple of inches. The crazy part was the clear muscles he possessed along with scars that decorated his body.
There was one thing that captivated everyone in the room. It was the way Midoriya's presence lit up the room with how he was practically glowing.
Their Izuku stared up at Midoriya with a flabbergasted expression. “You’re me?”
Midoriya nodded, chuckling to himself. “Sure am! Although I guess I'm not too far into the future or anything crazy. I’m a third year in high school!”
The teacher suddenly interrupted the two, clueless about what to do in the situation. “How are you here?”
Midoriya turned to the adult and shrugged. “Not too sure. I think I was hit by a quirk. I was giving a kid an autograph when I suddenly was brought here. I guess I either got attacked by a villain or accidentally hit by a civilian.”
“Autograph? Who would want your stupid autograph?” shouted Katsuki, not happy with what was happening.
Midoriya's head snapped over, eyes wide with wonder. “Little Kacchan!”
The class of students was undeniably flabbergasted. There was no way in the future, Midoriya would be happy to see Katsuki. Izuku dreaded Katsuki’s presence. After all, Katsuki was Izuku's bully. It seemed that Katsuki was even taken aback by the sunshiny, happy-go-lucky smile on Midoriya's face.
Midoriya knew his phone probably wouldn’t work considering the service he was using and the account he had didn’t exist in the past. Turning to his past self, he looked a bit sheepish. “May I use your phone to make a call?” asked Midoriya politely.
His younger self squeaked a bit, clearly unprepared for that request. “Sure!” After pulling out his phone, he extended it out to his future self. Midoriya thanked his past self before excusing himself to the hallway.
The class looked at the door where Midoriya disappeared behind before turning their heads to their Izuku. His gaze remained fixed on the door, amazed with his future self. He had so many questions.
Midoriya was currently in a hero costume so Izuku was buzzing. If his future self is wearing what he thinks it is, it didn’t look like the hero costume he had drawn out in his notebook. He had plenty of questions and hoped he’d have the chance to ask them.
Midoriya came in a couple of minutes later, handing the phone back to his younger self. “If you get a random call from the Pro Hero Nezu, just know that was me.”
The silence in the room was heavy. Midoriya looked away from Izuku to see everyone's eyes bulging out of their heads at the mention of Nezu. After all, he was the Principal of U.A. High. How Midoriya knew him was the newest and most important question the group of students had.
Izuku nodded, still in disbelief at the sight of his future self. It wasn’t until lunchtime that the two had a chance to talk. They made their way to the back of the school to talk.
Not too far behind the duo were Katsuki, Tejio, and Hifumi. They were Izuku's notorious bullies. Alongside the bullies were a couple of Izuku's classmates. They weren't going to pass up the chance to hear about the future.
Midoriya knew there was a group of kids snooping. Invading their privacy was nothing the bullies would be concerned about. Besides, Midoirya could care less about their wandering eyes and their eavesdropping. What he cared about was his younger self.
Midoriya stared at Izuku momentarily before being unable to contain his joy. He scooped up his younger self with a breathless laugh. This was honestly the best thing he's ever experienced.
Izuku yelped as he was lifted into his older self's arms. He couldn’t help but cry, clinging to the future version of himself that proved he could be a hero.
“I was— I’m so cute!”
Izuku gasped, looking up at Midoriya in wonder. “And I’m very-very wow!”
“Thank you! Glad to know you approve of the future look,” chuckled Midoriya, looking down at his hero suit.
“So, I’m training to become a hero?” questioned Izuku, picking at his cuticles nervously.
Midoriya nodded with a blinding smile. "Of course we are! Although I can't really disclose much more information. Can't risk throwing off the timeline."
Izuku clapped his hands together, failing to stop himself from crying. "I'm so glad."
Midoriya rested his hands on Izuku's shoulders, looking himself in the eyes. "You got this. Things will get much better, but your journey will be far from easy, but we must work hard for the future we want."
Izuku nodded, taking a deep breath. “That’s the life we live. Nothing I’m not used to.”
Midoriya sighed, pinching those chubby cheeks before him. “Even if things may be rough, we will finally have support systems.”
“That sounds really amazing,” sighed Izuku, wondering what it’s like to have someone or something he can depend on when he falls into the deep end.
“It is… god I wish I could tell you everything! Life has been insane,” groaned Midoriya, running his fingers through his fluffy hair.
“I mean clearly. If you can’t tell me anything about the future because of the possibility of something changing tells me a lot," chuckled Izuku, messing with his hands.
It was quiet for a moment before Izuku gasped and grabbed Midoriya's hand. "Wait! I already met... you know who. You don't have to worry about hiding that."
Midoriya seemed to sink in relief. "Okay, so you know a pretty good amount already. I still can't spoil the juicy details, unfortunately. But I can tell you that training goes well."
Izuku grinned, clapping his hands together. "Well, that's great to hear. All our hard work pays off. What is it like having a, umm."
"It was very strange at first. I think we both know it's a big adjustment. Still, it's more cool than anything else. Still learning more and more about it every day," rambled Midoriya, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
Izuku suddenly whispered, leaning up to Midoriya’s ears. “What about our relationship with All Might?”
“Oh! It’s wonderful! He’s like a father to me at this point,” chirped Izuku happily, clearly happy to talk about the hero.
“Do we make a lot of friends?” questioned Izuku hopefully.
Midoriya couldn’t help but let out a beautiful laugh. “Yes, we make many friends. I’d argue that I’m the most popular person in the school.”
Tejio rolled his eyes, scoffing. “Bullshit.”
“Yeah right. No way that stalker nerd is popular. He probably pays people to be his friend,” snickered Hifumi, elbowing Tejio.
Katsuki was doing everything in his power to not storm up to the two and blow them up. Their conversation was seriously pissing him off. Izuku’s training to become a hero and successfully does it. Izuku apparently has a father in the future. All of that was a stretch, but the one thing he was not buying was that the quirkless loser was popular.
Izuku’s face lit up and he let out a loud gasp. “Really? That’s amazing!”
Suddenly they heard a shout from the rooftop.
"I am a turtle!"
Both Midoriya and Izuku pause, their smiles immediately fading. Slowly they turned toward each other with highly judgemental looks. Midoriya shook his head, not removing his eyes from Izuku. "I forgot just how much I hated this school."
"Yeah," drawled out Izuku as he cringed.
"Wanna skip the rest of the day? I can just tell the teacher I need to take you with me to UA or something like that," yawned Midoriya, looking toward the entrance of the school.
Katsuki stepped out glaring at the duo. "Who the hell do you think you are?"
Izuku immediately used Midoriya as a shield. Unlike him, Midoriya looked disinterested in whatever angsty mumbo-jumbo Katsuki has going on. "I thought you were there when I was magically transported into the middle of your classroom."
"Shut it Deku! You know what I meant," shouted Katsuki, not happy to be messed with.
"Duh, I knew what you meant. It's just I don't appreciate how you speak to me," remarked Midoriya, not tolerating Katsuki's past behavior. "I miss your future self already."
Katsuki seemed to forget about what Midoriya originally said because of the second part. "I already know I'm the best!"
Midoriya couldn't help but smile, nodding his head. "Of course, Kacchan."
Their conversation was cut off by a portal opening and an older Katsuki popping his head through. Spotting Midoriya, he sighed and stepped the whole way through.
"Thank god that worked. The kid hasn’t stopped crying. He thought he killed you," huffed Bakugo, approaching Midoriya.
"Oh, it was the kid? I guess he got too excited then," chuckled Midoriya stepping closer to Bakugo.
"No kidding, he developed his fucking quirk because of you. Now get your ass through that portal Izuku," ordered Bakugo.
Midoriya flushed a bit, rushing to Bakugo's side. "Don't rush me Kacchan!" freezing, Midoriya turned to his past self and winked. "I wasn't kidding when I said things get better! You got this!"
Bakugo nodded and flashed a charming smirk. "You're still a stupid nerd."
Midoriya swatted at Bakugo, attempting to shove him through the portal. Bakugo had grabbed ahold of Midoriya's wrist and chucked him through the portal instead.
Their fighting was amusing for the young teens watching them. Izuku and Katsuki slowly turned toward each other with stunned expressions.
"What the hell?"
"What just happened?"
When they both made it to their rooms that night, they finally had the chance to smile. They were glad to see they figured things out in the future.

A Bar So Low, It Was a Tripping Hazard in Hell
Izuku Centric! BKDK endgame
He cheated on me. I know when. I know who. I know where. I know how. I know who he cheated on me with. I have video proof and pictures. I have screenshots of texts.
I’m not dumb. He thinks I’m dumb. He’s been avoiding me. He knows I know of that I have a hunch of what he’s doing. He’s going to get defensive and call me crazy.
I’ve been letting this brew inside me for too long. At first, I was devastated. Then I felt a burning anger consume me. I was stuck in a cycle of sorrow and anger. Of course, I was grieving the loss of my relationship before it even ended.
I was waiting to dump him on my birthday. I don’t expect him to give me a gift or even remember. He’s always been a piece of shit. I just ignored it for my own sake.
My name is Izuku Midoriya I’m dumping my cheating boyfriend.
It’s not hard to find reasons to dump the bastard. The only reason why we started dating was because I was heartbroken and decided that trying to move on wasn’t a bad idea. It clearly was a horrible idea because I got cheated on.
His name was Seiki Kagurazaka and he was a second-year student at U.A. High. I got close with the majority of his friends which helped me in the long run. They ended up liking me more than him and outed him to me as a cheater. I was often busy with hero work while they were hanging out so I wouldn’t have known if they hadn’t told me.
We only were a month into our relationship when the person I originally had a crush on broke up with their boyfriend. I cursed to myself but was determined to move on considering he had to recover from the breakup anyway.
I was in love with Katsuki Bakugo. No shocker there. It’s impossible for my attention to be focused on anyone other than him. Unfortunately, when he started dating Kirishima, it hurt to even look at them. I was beyond happy and supportive, but I couldn’t help but feel my heart break.
Now here I am, standing in the middle of the hallway, staring at my soon-to-be ex in disbelief.
“Excuse me?”
“It’s important okay?”
“Really? I can’t believe you right now.”
“What’s the big deal? It’s not like our plans haven’t worked out before?”
“Oh my god. You actually forgot. We were supposed to go to my place to celebrate my birthday, asshole!”
Kagurazaka paled and the sight of his mortified expression brought me extreme joy. Usually, I’d be angry or upset, but I’ve never been more at peace. I was about to make the entire school see Kagurazaka was nothing more than a mindless fuckboy.
“It’s not my fault you didn’t remind me!”
That genuinely surprised me. I knew he’d get defensive, but this was a new level of stupidity. How I ever accepted his confession is beyond me.
Meanwhile, behind me, I heard the voices of my classmates. I knew Mina, Kaminari, Uraraka, Hagakure, and Ojiro were behind me. In my peripheral vision, I can see the spikey blond hair that belonged to Bakugo.
Behind Kagurazaka was the group of his friends that would drop him after we broke up. They were the ones who supported me after sharing the news that he was cheating on me.
Suddenly, I didn’t want my failed relationship on display for the school to see. I grabbed Kagurazaka by the ear and tugged him into a more private area of the school. I know some people would respect me wanting privacy, but I couldn’t blame those who followed.
“Ow! Ow! Ow! Izuku! What the hell?”
I couldn’t help but let out an exasperated huff, letting go of Kagurazaka. This was it.
“You know what makes me crazy? I’m sorry, can I say this? You know what makes me nuts?” I didn’t wait for a response. “The fact that we could be together—Here together. Sharing our night. Spending our time. And you are gonna choose someone else to be with-.”
“No. That’s not—I’m not choosing-!”Kagurazaka went to interject, his defensiveness rearing its head again.
I shut that down quickly.
“No, you are!”
“No!”
“Yes, Seiki, that's exactly what you’re doing!” I can’t help but shout at him. He really thinks he’s going to win this. “You could be here with me Or be there with them. As usual, guess which you pick.”
“No Izuku, I have to go-!” snapped Kagurazaka in a way that said a thousand words.
Fuck those homewrecking bitches and his fuckboy guy-friends that probably supported his cheating.
Without missing a beat, I snarkily fire back at him. “No, Seiki, you do not have to go to another party with the same twenty jerks you already know! You could stay with your boyfriend on his fucking birthday!”
I got to know his friends and became really good friends with them, yet he had no shame in cheating on me in front of them. It was beyond embarrassing for everyone to see that I wasn't worth it for him!
This was more than him cheating. This was him cheating after not putting any effort into our relationship from the beginning. He wasted my time and energy. We were both training to become heroes. And sure, I am farther ahead than he may ever be, but couldn't he be proud of me? Or even pretend to be?
“And you could, God forbid, even see my interviews!”
Seeing his stupid face with no guilt written on it filled me with a rage I didn't know I could feel. I will resent Kagurazaka till the day I die. He clearly doesn't feel guilty about cheating and still refuses to admit it.
“And I know in your soul it must drive you crazy! That you won't get to play with your little girlfriends!”
The words I dreaded hearing suddenly met my ears. Kagurazaka now knows that I know he cheated. Kagurazaka knows that I know he'd skip out on dates to go to parties and hook up with whatever girl threw herself on him. He had nowhere to turn, so he'd suddenly project on me.
"You're crazy-!"
I feel his hands try and snatch my wrists to silence me. And in that split second any composure I had left was out the window. All restraints were forgotten and our relationship was officially done.
I shove him away hard enough for him to nearly fall over. Without worrying about who heard anymore, I shouted at him. "No I'm not, no I'm not!"
Kagurazaka's eyes widened, officially backing down. The line had been crossed and there was nothing he could do to mend what he's ruined. I no longer loved him.
There would be no more stolen kisses in the halls or in our dorms. There won't be any more secret hugs whenever we feel the urge to touch. There will never be fingers grazing as we walk through the halls side by side. My eyes will never meet his again after this. My voice will never be directed towards him after this. I'll be nothing more than a memory.
"And the point is, Seiki, that you can't spend a single day that's not about you and you and nothing but you! Marvelous, powerful, you!"
I can feel I'm using my whole body to exaggerate my screaming. Everything I was feeling was pouring out of my mouth. Feelings and thoughts I'd been bottling up about him were now being thrown right into his face.
"Isn't he wonderful? Just seventeen! The savior of Japan! You and you and nothing but you! Miles and piles of you! Pushing through windows and bursting through walls! En route to the sky! And l-"
I couldn't do it anymore and the tears started falling. I didn't want him to see me crying, but I felt so defeated that I couldn't help but break down at the thought of him cheating. We never did anything more than the occasional makeout, but he could sleep with multiple girls he just met?
He didn't even try to come up with a dumb excuse or apologize. He didn't beg for me to stay or say that it was an accident or a one-time thing. I wanted to believe he felt some guilt or shame, but deep down I knew he’d only be upset that I found out.
Even now, as I was crying before him he didn't even move to comfort me. He didn’t say a word to try and fix what he broke. I decided if this was the end, I'd leave nothing untouched.
"I swear to God. I'II never understand. How you can stand there straight and tall... and see I'm crying...and not do anything at all." I know I sounded pathetic and heartbroken, but the regret that finally appeared on Kagurazaka's face made it worth it.
As I saw his hand budge to reach out to me, I shook my head and turned away from him. There was a group shamelessly watching and I could tell the wish they fled the scene before I could see their faces.
Thankfully it wasn't random people and was made up of Kagurazaka's friends and my friends. It made the situation a lot less messy for me. Still, one of Kagurazaka's friends, more specifically the first girl who told me he was cheating, reached out to me.
"Izuku."
I raised my hand to signal I didn't want to be here, let alone talk at the moment. I dismiss myself and walk away.
"Izuku."
I wanted to scream, but the voice belonged to someone I could never be hostile to. All I do is turn to face Bakugo and shake my head.
"I'll see you tomorrow Kacchan."
I push open the double doors at the end of the hall and leave. I'll tell Aizawa I got sick and was heading home instead of my dorm. He already accepted my request to spend my birthday with my mother.
My birthday was spent in the arms of my mother. I ended up spending Sunday at home as well. I didn't want to answer the questions I know my classmates would have or see the looks of pity yet.
When I got back, no one asked any questions and there weren't any looks of pity. Apparently, Bakugo got house arrest for beating up Kagurazaka. Uraraka and Kagurazaka's ex-friends explained what happened to class 1-A. So, by the time I got back, all I got was support.
I was happy to hear I’d be able to rant about him to many of my friends whenever I found the strength to talk about it. It seemed that I also had plenty of second-years to talk to about it as well. Sure they saw him cheating, but I had embarrassing stories of him to share.
It seems Bakugo could sense I'd be coming back because he was waiting in my room when I walked in. All I could do was smile. And suddenly I can't imagine how I could ever bring myself to distance myself from him.
"Thank you, Kacchan."
"He's lucky I didn't kill him for doing that to you."
As long as it took me to move on, it pissed me off that all it took was one sentence for all those feelings to come back full force. Trying to ignore the rush that was making me dizzy, I stepped closer and plopped down on my bed.
"Yeah, I think he'll probably avoid me like the plague now."
I really hope he wouldn’t dare walk through the first-year hall. Then again, Kagurazaka was a piece of shit. He had no shame so I wouldn’t be surprised if he suddenly started dating another first-year by the end of next week.
"Yeah, you screaming at him was pretty badass. Definitely destroyed his ego with how you tore into him," snickered Bakugo, his smirk as devilish as ever.
"Thanks."
"Here. Take it."
Suddenly a small box is placed on my lap. I soon realized that this was a birthday gift considering I wasn't around for my birthday.
"Oh! Kacchan!"
Soon I was a crying mess all over again. After having my ex-boyfriend forget my birthday, this really got my emotions all over the place.
"Hey! Why are you crying?"
"I'm so happy." I pathetically cry out.
I open the box after a smack to the back of my head and a quick breather. Looking inside is a golden All Might charm bracelet. There were at least six limited-edition charms in addition to the limited-edition All Might bracelet the charms go onto.
Bakugo was most definitely collecting these charms for close to a year at this point. That information sent the butterflies in my stomach into overdrive.
I may have just gotten out of a relationship and this may make me a bad person, but I couldn't resist launching myself onto Bakugo. It seemed that Bakugo didn't mind being a bad person as well when he supported my weight and kissed me back.
The end!
This was completely inspired by the musical The Last Five Years and more specifically the song See I'm Smiling by Anna Kendrick! God the feminine rage in that gives me goosebumps everything.

Holding an Unconscious Body
Izuku is a badass and Katsuki develops a crush
Izuku always had long hair. It was never longer nor shorter than an inch past his shoulders. His hair was fluffy and curly. The longer his hair grew out, the more the black and green mixed.
Izuku sported bans along with a half-up, half-down look. The chunk in the back would be pinned back. The pin Izuku used never changed as days, weeks, months, and years passed.
It wasn’t until Izuku entered Aldera Junior High that the pin caught people’s attention. Many of the people with long hair thought the hairstyle was very pretty. It suited Izuku very well making him stand out amongst the crowd.
Tejio, one of Izuku’s main bullies had the “great” idea of ripping it from Izuku’s hair. He ran over to his buddies, Katsuki and Hifumi, with a wicked smile. He explained his plan and even though the two had a bad feeling about it, they encouraged the act.
The bell rang, dismissing the students for their lunch break. Tejio waited still Izuku was getting up to rip it out. Katsuki and Hifumi stood near him while wearing shit-eating grins. Tazawa reached out and tugged.
The clip came out along with some of Izuku’s hair. Izuku yelped, hand instantly raising to touch the place where the pin had been. Tejio, Katsuki, and Hifumi laughed. They truly thought what they did was funny. The commotion caught the attention of the remaining students in the room. Some stood around to be entertained while others felt horrible for Izuku.
In a flash, Izuku spun around and tightly gripped Tejio's hand. More specifically, Izuku grabbed the hand that contained his hairpin. Tejio struggled against the grip and let out a nervous chuckle as he attempted to break free of Izuku’s grasp.
“What the hell? Let go you freak,” spat Tejio, shocked that Izuku’s hold was hurting him.
Izuku’s eyes were filled with pure wrath. In a flash, Izuku cracked Tejio in the face. Izuku’s punch was vicious and unforgiving. It struck Tejio right in the nose and a loud crunch was heard upon contact. Tejio's hand suddenly fell limp and Izuku snatched the hairpin.
Aonuma fell to the ground, unconscious. Izuku sneered at him as he swiftly put the pin back in his head.
“Piece of shit.”
Izuku rubbed his knuckles before looking at his shell-shocked classmates. The main reaction was fear. Then there were a couple of looks of surprise. Upon registering what happened, some looked impressed while some trembled at the violence. The sight of blood made them realize their stomachs were, in fact, not made out of steel.
Katsuki had his hands stuffed in his pockets. His focus was on holding back laughter as he stared down at his unconscious "friend". He knew how Izuku got about some of his belongings. It was clear the hairpin was held to the same importance as his hero merchandise.
Katsuki knew that when he threw Izuku's notebook out the window, he was pushing it. While he wanted to laugh, he also was quite unnerved. Izuku knocked out Tejio with a single punch and has the grip of a god. Izuku was strong.
Izuku dusted off his uniform before bending down and scooping Tejio up. Carrying the unconscious boy in his arms bridal style, Izuku sent a bone-chilling glare at the group.
“Do not touch my hairpin. Next time, I won’t give you the pleasure of knocking you out,” threatened Izuku, giving Katsuki and Hifumi a clear warning.
Izuku walked out with Tejio in his arms and took him to the nurse. This resulted in most people doing double-takes. Izuku picked his bully up as if he was a couple of grapes. That was an unnerving thought. They couldn’t understand where this strength came from. In gym class, he never seemed to stand out. Suddenly he was this strong, quiet, nerdy, badass out of nowhere.
Katsuki watched, not too shocked Izuku picked up Tejio. If Izuku wanted to get into U.A. he clearly needed some strength. Yet he couldn’t help but be surprised by Midoriya picking Tejio up so easily.
It wasn't until a week later that Katsuki cornered Izuku alone. "Deku."
"Kacchan?" uttered Izuku quietly.
"Punch me," demanded Katsuki bluntly, his face just as serious as usual.
Izuku's eyes widened as his jaw went slack. He dramatically gasped, "What? No! I'd never hit you!"
Katsuki smirked, getting in Izuku's face. "How about I steal that pretty hairpin of yours then?"
Izuku's eyes narrowed in seconds as he prepared to fight. "Do not touch it," seethed Izuku. As soon as anger crossed his face, it disappeared as a rosiness appeared in his cheeks. "Wait? You think it's pretty?"
"Shut the hell up nerd!" sneered Katsuki, his hand reaching out to snatch the pin out of reflex.
Izuku suddenly reached his hand behind Katsuki's head, grabbed a handful of his hair from the roots, and pulled. Katsuki's head flew back from the tug and he felt a foot pressed against his stomach with another foot behind his feet.
Knocked onto his ass, Katsuki stared up at a beautiful mess.
Izuku's hair was a hot mess, but it was really attractive. His hair gained so much more volume and it really suited Izuku's head shape. It didn't help that Izuku looked ready to attack Katsuki.
Katsuki happily held the hairpin in his hand, looking up at this new version of his quirkless loser. Izuku's eyes widened at the sight of Katsuki and suddenly the nerd was on his knees beside him.
"Kacchan! Your nose is bleeding!" yelped Izuku as he quickly snatched the pin back and slipped it into his hair.
"Do that again."

Oh, God. It Talks?
Izuku wiped his face, having cleaned off the filth that covered it. Having your face dunked in the toilet was common when you were quirkless. People wanted you to die so they’d make you feel like you were. Having face wash was a necessity, he’d always wash off when the bullies left. They never stuck around because deep down they were cowards.
Izuku huffed, walking out of the bathroom feeling fatigued. Even if the day had dragged on and crushed his spirit he wasn’t going to let his bullies win. He was going to push forward and achieve the great things that he wants. Spite was a leading factor, but Izuku also wanted to do it for his mom. Inko tried so hard every day and he wanted her to no longer worry.
The school was empty, most people headed off to their extracurriculars. Izuku sighed, pushing open the entrance door. Midoriya took a deep breath and relished in the sun. He could smell the grass and feel the breeze. There were no fluorescent lights or body odor to ruin his mood.
Izuku remembered Inko needed a couple of groceries so he headed off to run a quick errand. Inko had forgotten to go to a second store to grab the things she needed, but Izuku offered to get them.
Izuku reached his destination quickly and found what he needed. Izuku happily chatted with the cashier. Casual conversations were easy to get through with young adults.
Izuku left the store with his tote bag of groceries. His backpack always carried a tote bag in case he saw hero merchandise on his way home. The streets were busy, but not overwhelming. The flow of traffic was relaxing, with no villains to be seen.
When Izuku was waiting by the crosswalk, he was approached by two teens around his age, probably first-years in high school.
“Hey, would you be interested in having a deep talk with us really quick for a video?” asked the boy, seeming to already be recording.
Izuku saw no harm in it, he didn’t have anything on him that needed to be refrigerated. Besides, he still had an hour or two until Inko would start dinner. Flashing a shy smile, Izuku nodded. “Yes, I have a couple of minutes to spare.”
“Sweet, come over to the benches and we will talk,” instructed the one boy. He had crazy blue and white hair, pink eyes, and wore a nice outfit. It consisted of some nice dress pants and a loose-fitting, white button-up. He stood a foot taller than Izuku had had a charming smile.
The other person was holding the camera. They remained silent, which Midoriya assumed was because of a quirk judging by the symbols near their mouth. They had long black hair clipped back and grey eyes. They were around Izuku’s height.
They sat in front of a fountain, people could be seen walking past in the background. The scene was serene. The boy bowed quickly and introduced himself. “Thank you for agreeing to this, my name is Tobei Nishioka.”
Izuku quickly bowed back, a smile still on his face. “The pleasure is all mine. It's lovely meeting you Nishioka, I’m Izuku Midoriya.”
Nishioka felt his cheeks heat up, enamored by the powerfully kind boy before him. “Lovely meeting you too. Now let’s jump right into the good stuff.”
Pulling out his phone, there was a microphone attached to the end. Nishioka held it up to his mouth. “Are you an above-average person?”
Midoriya tilted his head, the gears in his head already turning. “In what sense?”
“Overall.”
“I don’t think anyone’s above average. I think everyone’s just different,” answered Midoriya honestly, clearly sure of his opinion. Excited about the deep questions, Midoriya complimented Nishioka chirping, “That’s an interesting question though.”
Smiling back, Nishioka realized this was going to be a good video with a good-hearted individual. Nishioka began asking questions he personally wanted to know the answers to. “You don’t think some people are better than others?”
Izuku bit his lip, raising his head to the sky in thought. “Hmm. Better… depends. I think there are maybe more good—there are people that generally tend to do more good. I would probably define that as a better person if you were to ask me. But uhm, better in any other sense; No, I think everyone’s very different.”
Nishioka looked at Izuku with a bright grin, loving the well-explained answers and the meticulous efforts put into giving an honest answer. There was something about Izuku’s energy that was refreshing. He was happy to do this interview. “What about how they contribute to the world?”
Izuku’s smile faded momentarily, reminded of his quirklessness. He was always told he couldn’t contribute to anything because of his lack of a quirk. Despite the question subtly striking a nerve, he knew his answer.
Nishioka noticed the wave of insecurity that captured Izuku for a split second. Nishioka instantly grew worried he said something insensitive or hurt Izuku’s feelings. He held his tongue when he saw Izuku nod like he was giving a shameful confession.
“Then yeah I would say there are better people than others,” replied Izuku, looking up at Nishioka with a kind look despite the doubt he definitely had felt inside.
Nishioka couldn’t help but smile, strangely moved by Izuku. “Are you one of them?”
Izuku face lit up, practically glowing upon taking a breath to answer. “Uh, not yet. I’m trying to be. I’m getting there. That’s my goal. So, we’ll see,” chuckled Izuku at the end, his voice and laughter so sweet even the boy holding the camera stilled for a moment.
Nishioka laughed himself, never having reacted this way to an interviewee before. “I hope you reach that goal, whatever it may be. Now… what is your favorite color?”
Izuku covered his mouth as he held in a laugh at the sudden shift in the questions. “Well, it use to be red because of my shoes. But recently, my heart rushes to a vibrant fulvous orange.”
“I love it! Green on the outside, orange on the inside,” teased Nishioka, causing Izuku’s eyes to go wide.
Izuku looked down bashfully, never having a conversation with some around his age go so smoothly. Even if they didn’t know he was quirkless, the kindness he received with it hidden was enough.
Nishioka moved on to the next question. “What gives you the motivation to keep going?”
Izuku pondered for a moment, huffing in frustration. “I have more than one answer.”
“Go for it! This is deep talk after all,” reassured Nishioka, shifting himself to face Izuku better.
“Fear of failure. I’ve grown up being told I am a failure so I keep pushing forwards in the hopes that I’m not actually,” confessed Izuku, his smile stiffening as the recalls the dozens upon dozens of people who told him he was worthless.
Nishioka’s eyes widened, stunned anyone could say something remotely mean to the gentle and comforting presence of Izuku. He remained silent, letting Izuku continue.
“Spite as well. Every time anyone has ever said, I can’t do that or I shouldn’t do x,y,z. I think of that every time I wanna do something,” explained Izuku proudly, an accomplished smile on his face as he spoke up about it.
Nishioka could tell that wasn’t it and wanted to push Izuku to speak about it and get out of his head. “It seems like you have another form of motivation.”
“Yes… it’s my mom actually,” revealed Izuku with a reserved smile plastered on his face. The mere thought of Inko gave Izuku strength.
“That’s sweet. Is there any specific reason why?” inquired Nishioka, curious about the deeper meaning.
Izuku smiled, happy to talk about why his mother was amazing and how she brought him motivation. “She’s a beautiful person, and I just want to, like—be like her. I don’t come from a fortunate family. My fathers across the world working with the government so we can’t talk to him. So it’s just me and my mother. So when I think about, y’know… living I just think of my mom. She worries for me a lot, and I just want to support her and make her not worry. I love her.”
“That’s a wonderful answer. It sounds like you are extremely close with her,” complimented Nishioka earnestly, feeling a strong urge to protect Izuku.
“I am really close with her. We are all each other has. She’s a stay-at-home mom, and I am an outcast of society,” joked Izuku, the seemingly self-destructive joke being a habit of Izuku.
Nishioka fired the next question, a flame in his eye. “When was your happiest moment?”
Izuku’s cheeks turned red, seemingly embarrassed. “Last summer, when I went to a beach resort for the first time with my mom. I never felt more at peace than in that moment of solitude alone with my mom.”
“Wow, that’s oddly adorable. Have you never been to the beach before then?” questioned Nishioka, curious as to how he had never been when beaches were all around.
“No, I refused to! I would never to a beach around here,” gasped Izuku, half dying from the fact the beach next to his house was a garbage can for the public.
Nishioka laughed at the dramatic reaching, rocking back as he fixed his grip on the microphone. “That’s interesting, I can understand wanting to travel to do something special like that. When was the last time you cried?”
Without missing a beat, Izuku answered, “Yesterday.”
Getting whiplash from the immediate answer, Nishioka choked on the air, coughing quickly. “Why?”
Izuku shifted on the bench, resting his hands on his lap. “I tend to get overwhelmed easily. School is a nightmare and when I get home is usually the first time I feel safe during the day.”
“Why’s that? Do you feel safe now?” questioned Nishioka, extremely worried for Izuku’s safety.
Izuku shook his head, offering a weak smile that didn’t meet his eyes. “Not really, but you get used to feeling that way. It becomes normal.”
Izuku’s phone started ringing. Izuku froze checking the contact to see that it was his mom. “Oh, it’s my mother.”
Izuku answered the call, shamelessly putting it on speaker. “Hello, Mom!”
“Hi, Sweetheart. I know you got off school not too long ago, but you’re at the shops now right?” The sweet motherly voice came out from the other end of the call.
“I actually was heading back from picking up the groceries. Why? Is everything alright?” asked Izuku, fondness in his eyes and amusement in his tone.
“Yep! I was just checking in, thank you so much. You’re a lifesaver,” cried Inko, so grateful for Izuku.
Izuku beamed at the praise, glad to be helpful and recognized for it. “Please, you’re the lifesaver. Anyways I should be home soon.”
“Okay Sweetie, see you soon. I love you.”
“I love you too Mom, bye.”
The call ended and Izuku sat down his phone. “That short phone call made my day one hundred percent better.”
Nishioka smiled, loving the healthy relationship between Izuku and Inko. There was a strong foundation of love that was clearly unbreakable. “It’s admirable how strong your bond is with her.”
“Thank you. I’m sure she’d appreciate hearing that as well. I’m very sorry, but I must be going,” apologized Izuku, grabbing his tote bag.
Nishioka rose to his feet, preparing to wrap up for the day. “It was an honor to have a deep conversation with you. Do you have any social media we can use to identify you?”
“Oh, I apologize, but my social media is a secret.”
Nishioka nodded, backing off. “That’s perfectly fine! I am curious about why it’s a secret though.”
Izuku stands up as well, fiddling with the straps of the tote bag. “Well, I used to be cyberbullied severely and people tried to doxx me and hack my account.”
Nishioka’s eyes widened, his heart breaking for someone as wonderful as Izuku. “That’s horrible! Why would anyone bully someone as kind and pretty as you?”
“Oh, I’m quirkless. My school is built on a quirk-based hierarchy. Word spreads fast,” laughed Midoriya uncomfortably, clearly knowing he ruined whatever interaction he just had.
“That’s horrible. Well, I’ll keep your social media safe. Is there any way I can get your number? I’d love to have someone as down to earth as you in my life,” admitted Nishioka, blushing as he pulled out his phone.
Izuku’s cheeks turned bright red, resembling strawberries. “Oh! Of course!”
“Sweet, okay! Here,” said Nishioka breathlessly, handing his phone to Izuku with a bright smile.
Izuku held the phone with both hands securely, typing in his number, and name before quickly sending a message to himself. “There.”
Checking his phone, Izuku held it up with a smile. “I got the text. Care to put your name in my phone?”
Nishioka excitedly took the phone, typing in his name. He handed the phone back with sweaty palms. “I’m glad I approached you today. I’ll let you get back to your mother.”
“I’m happy you approached me as well. It was lovely meeting you and your friend, see yah,” bowed Midoriya before walking away.
Nishioka turned to his friend who was still recording and melted to the floor. “He’s so perfect it hurts.”
His friend who recorded all of his videos, a person who never spoke, agreed, “He looks too nice to be bullied. How could anyone be mean to him.”
“Right? Like all because he’s quirkless. Whatever, he has us now right dude?”
“Totally.”
1 day later
The video was uploaded and views were wracking in. Suddenly the video blew up and took the world by storm. Izuku had gained millions of supporters in seconds.
Izuku's sweet personality and soothing voice had charmed many. It was only a matter of time till Aldera Junior High got their hands on the video.
The events were cropped a bit of Izuku being approached and Nishioka and him introducing themselves. Many were surprised to see his open body language and willingness to answer any question asked to him.
When Midoriya answered the first question, many were pleasantly surprised by his answer. He viewed everyone under the same lens and recognized no one could really be put on a scale when no one was the same.
In a way, it was validating to hear that when they were all so obsessed with their quirks. They did laugh when he stated a person's contributions to the world did make one person better than another. They enjoyed seeing him “know his place”.
Their laughter disappeared immediately after they laughed when he claimed he was working to become something more than what he currently is.
When Izuku answered the simple question of what his favorite color was, many were surprised. No one knew anything about him so hearing his favorite color being a vibrant fulvous orange was a big thing for them.
There was something about his answer that was very sophisticated. The very specific type of orange was something that caught their attention. They all looked up what his favorite color looked like. They were curious.
When the following question approached, many’s jaws dropped. There was something about hearing him open up about how he was still going that haunted them. Fear of failure, spite, and his mom. Knowing he was deeply affected by their words managed to surprise them even though they were aware they bullied him all the time every day. To know he wanted to avoid being a failure by the odd chance he wasn’t despite believing he was, stung.
Izuku was running forward blindly, going off of the hope that life was worth living. While they were caught off guard by his first reason, spite shocked them just as hard. All their attempts to get him to give him only encouraged and empowered him to accomplish his goals.
When it came to his last reason, the sadness kicked in. Many had their usual teen vs. parent relationship going on. Even if that was happening at home, they still loved their parents. Hearing Izuku talk so fondly about his loving mother sent guilt kicking their gut. They could only imagine a hard-working woman that looked similar to Izuku being this golden light to him. It was painfully adorable.
Some students could understand Izuku in terms of an absent parent. Divorced parents, dead parent(s), absent parent(s), or neglectful parent(s). Those who could relate understood the pain of feeling unwanted. It was nice to hear him push forward for the sake of his mom.
There was something in Izuku’s voice that made him sound lethargic. They could hear how he was exhausted but he ignored it for the sake of promising his mother a brighter future.
Bakugo understood why. Inko and Izuku were all each other had.
When Izuku was asked about his happiest moment, a grand majority were interested in hearing his response. From what they knew, it definitely wasn’t going to be anything about school.
They didn’t know much about Izuku outside of school so it would be a surprise whatever his answer was. So when Izuku revealed his happiest moment was going to the beach for the first time, it stuck with many. Maybe it was the fact it was such a simple moment that Izuku chose to cherish.
Everyone groaned at the following question. Izuku cried all the time so they all mentally noted it would be “an hour ago” or “today”. So it was obvious that no one was surprised by his answer. What did surprise them was his reason for crying. No one expected him to openly express his issues with school. No one expected him to say something so powerful that it would haunt them for the rest of the day.
It finally clicked that Izuku felt unsafe in school. They knew why, but it was still a slap to the face to hear him admit it. If that wasn’t enough, he cried because he finally relaxed for the first time that day. That statement tore Bakugo up inside.
The phone call was a wholesome moment. Inko’s voice was more sweet than anyone had thought. Bakugo had actually relaxed upon hearing the soothing voice again after so long.
When Izuku was asked for his social media, many were surprised to hear him shut that request down. No one at Aldera knew he had social media. Hell, when they tried to find it they came up with nothing. It made sense though. They had driven him off social media once. They never thought he got back on.
What they also weren’t aware of, was that he had been attacked by people who didn’t even know him because he was quirkless. His safety was at risk and he had to shut it down to keep him and his mother protected.
Bakugo and his lackeys had watched the video in horror. They were unaware this had been happening. None of the three were active on social media enough. They didn’t care about Izuku enough to find his account and bully him outside of school. This was all new news to them.
The thing that caught everyone off guard was that Izuku openly admitted he was quirkless. Izuku not only exposed himself but Aldera as well. The way he phrased it really put things into perspective. He made everyone realize they were contributing to the toxic environment based on a “quirk-based hierarchy”.
When their hearts were already beating hard enough, they nearly went into cardiac arrest when Nishioka asked Izuku for his number. No one could believe what they were watching. Izuku got hit on. Someone genuinely took interest in Izuku, well aware he was quirkless. Many were embarrassed by how shocked they were. Part of their shock was from how Izuku was getting advances while they were still hopelessly single.
When Izuku gave his number to Nishioka, the less uppity of his peers were actually happy. There was something exciting about seeing Izuku have an intimate moment with someone. They were able to see Izuku in a new light and learn some facts about him.
The video had blown up and Izuku was trending. This started an uproar about quirkless/quirk discrimination. The conversation started and it was all because this video was the final push. It was clear Aldera Junior High would be in some hot water soon.
When the next day rolled around and Izuku came to school, he was flipping through his notebook. Many watched him through the day, beyond curious about him. After seeing a side to him no one knew about, they wondered what else they didn’t know. Information they didn’t care about before was suddenly craved.
When lunch rolled around, Izuku finally got on his phone. He scrolled through the popular social media apps to stay in the loop before texting his mom and some other people. Nishioka was clearly one of them.
Students all gossiped with one another, jumping to conclusions and making crazy assumptions about Izuku’s life.
Izuku sat alone, carefree as he scribbled in his notebook. Izuku would pick at his food as he worked, savoring each bite. When lunch was over, Izuku quickly slipped his notebook away and brought out his textbook. People’s eyes were trained on him, but he never paid any mind. He was used to the stares so why would he suddenly meet their gaze?
Throughout classes, people paid close attention to Izuku’s expressions and mannerisms. It was easy to notice that he didn’t hide his emotions well. His face would scrunch up at the teacher numerous times throughout the lesson.
When one of his classmates said something stupid to answer the question, he would thin his lips in an attempt not to laugh. Izuku had been judging everyone all along, but everyone was too self-absorbed to notice.
Izuku rose from his seat, slipping his book bag over his shoulder. Katsuki approached Izuku. Izuku had been anticipating an attack all day and assumed it was finally coming. Unfortunately, Izuku was hit with a:
“We need to talk.”
Izuku was led to a discreet restaurant hidden in the street alley. Katsuki guided him inside and the duo sat down at a table, the dining area was close to empty. Katsuki told Izuku to order anything he wanted and Izuku ordered cold soba and warm dumplings.
Izuku took a sip of his water before starting the conversation. “What did you need to talk to me about Kacchan?”
“I saw the video,” answered Katsuki bluntly, getting straight to the point.
Izuku went ghostly pale, beginning to wave his hands in panic. “I swear none of it was directed at you!”
Katsuki pinched Izuku’s cheek. “Shut it. Let me speak.”
Izuku turned a bright red, nodding shyly.
"Look, I couldn't give less of a shit about what you think of me," lied Katsuki. "I just hope you know those random extras bullying you online are nothing but cowards. They aren't worth your time."
"Oh," whispered Izuku, surprised that was what Katsuki wanted to talk about. "Thank you, Kacchan. It happened our first year at Aldera."
Katsuki raised a brow, leaning back in his seat. "Does Aunty know about any of this?"
Izuku frowned, shaking his head. "No. She doesn't know anything. I cover up my injuries to make sure there is nothing for her to be suspicious of."
"Why?"
"I don't want her to worry. I don't want her to worry about me being stuck at Aldera if she can't afford to transfer me to another school. I don't want her only friendship to be ruined if she finds out you are a part of it. It's easier to just suck it up for another year."
"Makes sense... is that loser treating you well?"
"Huh? Oh—Nishioka! Yes, he's very funny and kind," replied Izuku in a happy tone. It's been so long since someone took an interest in him. That he couldn't help but feel like a little kid thinking about it.
"Good. It seems like he's not the only one in love with you. There are a whole bunch of people in love with you judging by the comments of the video," scoffed Katsuki. The blond pretended to be disinterested, but he was still surprised at the support sent Izuku's way.
"Yeah, I'm really flattered... but I doubt it. No one would willingly risk ruining their future by quirk discrimination. People follow the herd and no one likes to be an outcast," huffed Izuku, grabbing his glass of water.
Katsuki nodded, his scowl deepening. "Yeah, just like everyone at our school follows me like losers."
Izuku couldn't help but laugh, his head bobbing up and down. "No kidding. It's kind of creepy how even the adults have these incredibly high expectations of you."
Katsuki paused, feeling his shoulders tense up. "Well of course they would. I'm a future U.A. student Deku."
"Of course, Kacchan," agreed Izuku, not a single doubt in his mind Katsuki would get in.
"I hope you meant what you said in that video Deku. If you show up at the U.A. entrance exam and fail, I'll kill you nerd!" yelled Katsuki, surprising Izuku.
"I won't fail. Just watch me-."
The server cut them off, placing two plates on the table "Soba, dumplings, and extra spicy curry."
The two decided to just end their conversation there and eat. It was a bit awkward, but Izuku would much rather prefer feeling awkward than uncomfortable. Who would've thought he'd be having dinner with his childhood friend turned bully?

Taming A Bitch
For Plot Reasons, Izuku's dating a random OC
I, Izuku Midoriya was the pushover nerd at Aldera Junior High. Pushover was an understatement, but I digress. I was bullied by close to everyone in this school, verbally that is. Physically, I was bullied by a trio I've known since I was a toddler.
For Midoriya, things had always been that way and from the looks of it, things would continue to be that way.
It wasn’t until Midoriya's 2nd year of Junior High that he came home one day to see his mother packing boxes. His dad was home and they were moving into a bigger house. They were far enough away that it was ideal for Midoriya to switch schools.
Midoriya had been through three major changes in one single day. A new home, a new school, and a new relationship with his Dad. Hisashi was overjoyed to be home, sitting at dinner and wanting to know everything he had missed while he was away for business. Midoriya was happy to talk, glad his Dad was back from Germany, and openly excited to be home.
Midoriya was overjoyed with the sudden lavish lifestyle. He and Inko had lived comfortably in their small apartment with their minimalistic life before. Midoriya had a larger room to fit more bookshelves and All Might merchandise. It was a very exciting discovery of Midoriya.
The best thing that had happened out of it all was Midoriya sat between Inko and Hisashi as they all huddled together on their gigantic lounging couch.
Midoriya started his new school and quickly gained the interest of everyone around him. Midoriya stayed quiet about his academic ability and interests. It was safer for him to be boring than to be targeted for his interests. This caused people to label him as the mysterious new kid.
Midoriya was quite fair and was relatively reserved and shy. It wasn’t until he got his first love confession that the majority of the guys assumed he was a girl. Midoriya couldn't blame them considering he never talked.
Midoriya had to unfortunately explain that he was a guy and that he was uninterested in dating. He had been asked out as a prank far too many times to allow himself to even consider accepting a confession.
Midoriya's attitude quickly got everyone: boys, girls, and genderqueer people to ask Midoriya out. People were desperate to see Midoriya chose someone. Everyone who asked genuinely liked Midoriya and wanted the chance to get to know him better.
Midoriya developed a friend group outside of school. Midoriya also, as usual, had new haters inside of school. It wasn't a concern of his considering he has the help of the staff and his peers to get him through the dumbasses who wanted to make him miserable.
It wasn’t until Midoriya was in the middle of a sleepover that he not only realized he liked feminine clothing, but he liked the rush the attention gave him. If he hadn't been dared to crossdress, he would've never known.
Midoriya grew more confident as he started dressing up more for school, putting on more “feminine” accessories and clothes. He tried all types of styles. Everyone loved to see what new ideas he had for outfit ideas.
Hisashi was very accepting of this new side of his son and even offered to take him shopping. Every Saturday the Midoriya's would go shopping and have a family day.
Popularity in school grew despite Midoriya's lack of friends. Midoriya had one single person he was close with. It was the class president Naito Matsuta. Everyone thought that the two were dating after months of the duo spending every second they could together.
What nobody knew was despite them being in a relationship, they wanted to try some things out and decided to have an "open" relationship.
They spent the most time together because of their responsibilities as President and Vice President of their class. It was only the occasional times when Midoriya was busy or Naito was busy that the two went to other people.
Midoriya outside of Naito, had found a person who craved their attention. The duo liked not having any strings attached as it made things easier.
What Midoriya wasn’t aware of was during some time in their time of going out occasionally, the guy had gotten into a relationship. The relationship he was in was not an open relationship and Midoriya was a side piece that the girlfriend never knew about.
When word got out, it blew up. Everyone accused Midoriya of being a home wrecker and that he was a whore. Naito heard the news and was quick to help clear the air. Naito explained they were dating, but had an open relationship to relieve additional stress.
Midoriya discussed that they had been meeting each other far longer than he had a girlfriend. Once everyone realized Midoriya was not at all to blame, they backed off and went after the boyfriend even though that's what they should've done from the start.
The guy must’ve convinced his girlfriend Midoriya was some crazy psychopath as the two remained together and the girl despised Midoriya. Midoriya didn’t see her as a threat as he maintained his high status, popularity, and position as Vice President.
Naito had grown more protective of Midoriya after the incident. The two quickly agreed to close their relationship, more than content with one another.
Now that people knew they had a chance, they persisted in asking Midoriya out and requesting a hookup. Midoriya continued to reject people and soon started explaining he wasn't in an open relationship because of the incident.
Gima had tried spreading rumors, but no one believed her. Midoriya’s old playtoy, Hiroto Toyozo, would still try to meet up. Inko and Hisashi didn’t know anything had been going on so they happily let Hiroto inside to wait in Midoriya’s room until he got home.
Izuku had called Naito sobbing and Hiroto was banned from the house. Hisashi almost killed Hiroto, but Inko stopped him before he could get his hands on the boy.
It wasn’t until Midoriya and Naito had to interact with the crazy girl that Midoriya saw her as a threat. She had this snide smirk and always had her gaze focused on Naito. Nonetheless, the duo remained unbothered.
There had been a competition going on all over Musutafu where aspiring directors were to write an play. Whoever wrote the best play would have their creation performed in front of all participating schools (only certain classes attended the show). It was a big deal, to say the least.
This prissy little bitch, Gima Erisa, the crazy girlfriend, had won. She was getting permission from the President and Vice President for some unknown reason. Naito was unimpressed, going to excuse her. Midoriya stopped him and challenged Gima.
“Why do you need our permission? If your play is appropriate, then there should be no reason or us to give you permission hmm?”
Gima felt her face pale, she had been caught. Midoriya knew if she made one wrong move and it hadn’t been approved, she could be expelled without question. Naito noticed this and smirked, resting a hand on Midoriya’s thigh and squeezing.
“Yes, there is no reason you should need approval. You will be representing our school so we have high expectations of your play Misa. Now leave, we have important matters to attend to.”
Their “important matter” was them giving each other their undivided attention for way too many minutes. They finished their paperwork shortly after.
Weeks passed and soon the play arrived. The participating schools arrived. It consisted of four schools. Midoriya’s school, Rebun Junior High, Katsuro Junior High, and then Aldera Junior High. The schools flooded the biggest theatre in the area and were all excited to be out of school for half the day.
As President and Vice President, Midoriya and Katsuro High School were seated in the front with the other school's Presidents and Vice Presidents. They had all met each other on several occasions for school fairs, academic competitions, sports, and other extracurricular activities.
They had all gotten along perfectly and became a close group of friends. They all knew about the situation revolving around Naito and Midoriya and were highly supportive through all of it. The President and Vice President of Aldera Junior High apologized for their past mistakes which were later forgiven.
The adult staff was in the back, they were the first line of defense if anything happened. Midoriya and Naito were called to the stage to give a quick rundown of what was happening, how they were amazed and proud of all participants, and thanked for the school’s cooperation for showing up.
Midoriya quickly went over safety and evacuation procedures in case of emergencies along with explaining the roles of the staff and them as Presidents and Vice Presidents in the case of emergencies.
Katsuki Bakugo’s eyes met Midoriya's figure and instantly felt himself freeze. He hadn’t seen or heard of Midoriya since Mitsuki told him that Midoriya moved.
Bakugo didn’t think Midoriya was still nearby when she said “moved” so he was pretty stunned to see him. Midoriya was in their school uniform which consisted of a grey collared shirt with a black vest, and a red pleated short skirt, with black tights.
Naito was wearing black trousers, a grey collared shirt, and a black blazer that had red accents. Their calm and kind aura was misleading considering they were the definition of a scary power couple. Midoriya’s confidence in being gender nonconforming and Naito's confidence to eye fuck him was everything.
They made their way down to their seats after receiving applause and regrouped with their friends. The play quickly started and Gima was on the stage.
It only took five minutes for Midoriya to realize what she was doing. It took ten minutes for the rest of Midoriya’s school to realize what was happening. Everyone else was left in the dark but was eating up the performance.
Midoriya and Naito were already agreeing that Gima would be expelled for how inappropriate the play was. The six others sitting with them were quick to agree, appalled at how low Gima stooped. It seemed that the performers were even caught off guard by the play.
“She’s going off script,” gasped one of the Presidents.
Midoriya’s nails dug into chair arms as they watched. He was trying to restrain himself and not go up there and claw Gima’s eyes out. The actors noticed what she was doing too and none were willing to cooperate. Gima slowly realized nothing was working how she hoped it would.
The aggressive behavior of her body language and voice had Midoriya on their feet.
At one point, she snapped at the actor who was in the role of Midoriya. “You home-wrecking bitch! If you could’ve just been satisfied with one man then none of this would’ve happened!”
Midoriya felt his eyes widen and his heart clenched in his chest. Naito looked at Midoriya in distress, wanting to make sure Midoriya wasn’t going to cry. All of the other presidents and vice presidents looked over all well, all worried for Midoriya.
What none of them expected was to see the look of humiliation and rage in Midoriya’s eyes. They all were now worried about the state Gima would be in once Midoriya was done with her.
It progressively got worse to where the actors started to actually argue and yell at one another. The crowd watched, mesmerized. No one knew this wasn’t supposed to be happening so this was spectacular acting in their eyes.
“You ruined… everything! You stupid slut!” shouted Gima, looking directly at Midoriya.
Unable to stop himself, he shouted back. “I’m the slut? You’re the fucking slut fish-lips!”
The group of his friends were all gasping and shaking Midoriya, cheering him on for defending himself. The crowd was confused. No one but the students at Midoriya’s school knew where to look to find the person who belonged to the pissed-off voice.
The majority of the crowd cheered for Midoriya, loving the scary side of their class's vice president. This got some others from the random schools to cheer as well.
Gima felt her eyes widen a bit, realizing there was no turning back. This performance would be her last after she’s expelled per request of both Midoriya, Naito, and the rest of the schools' presidents and vice presidents.
It wasn’t until Gima physically attacked the uncooperative actor who was supposed to dehumanize Midoriya as a person, that Midoriya snapped. Rising from his seat, at the side, Midoriya vocally hissed.
“That’s enough. This is ending now.”
Midoriya marched up the side steps of the stage, tossing off his heels swiftly with each step he went up. Gima noticed and started running. Midoriya made a straight beeline for her grabbing her by her collar and throwing her backwards.
The crowd roared in the section Midoriya’s school was in. The three remaining schools all felt their jaws drop at the sight of a vice president playing a part in the performance.
Bakugo and his two lackeys Hifumi and Tejio watched in amazement. Midoriya was confidently running on that stage, in a skirt, with an enraged expression. This was not the "Deku" they knew.
“Dude, I don’t think Deku’s acting,” whispered Hifumi excitedly.
“Deku looks fucking pissed,” laughed Tejio, enjoying this way too much.
Bakugo knew that look all too well. He had seen many occasions where Inko wore that haunting look of rage when her son got hurt. Midoriya wanted blood, and Bakugo wanted to see Midoriya get that.
The presidents and vice presidents were chanting, “Beat her ass! Beat her ass!”
The group of students from Midoriya’s school were also cheering on Midoriya. Many of them knew Midoriya wasn’t acting which resulted in their scream cheering. This amount of support directed towards Midoriya shocked all of Aldrea’s students.
They had never expected Midoriya to rise in popularity in a way that would influence a whole school. They couldn't be too surprised after the initial surprise to see he was the vice class president at his new school.
Midoriya looked at her in disgust as she scurried to her feet like a pathetic coward. She couldn’t face him, she knew she’d fail at wherever he tried to do. She got blocked by one of the actors and when she turned around to run, Midoriya was already there.
“Fuck you!”
Clap!
Midoriya had drawn his hand back and sent it flying forward into Gima’s face. Gima stumbled back from the force, immediately holding her face with the incredible sting that spread across her entire cheek.
Everyone gasped. Some people jumped and others went wild, scream-cheering and clapping at such an excellent performance.
Gima ran and Midoriya bolted after her, from what the audience could see, Midoriya tackled her to the ground. Midoriya held her to the ground while shouting at one of the people backstage to send out her understudy.
The group panicked, having no other choice but to freestyle everything as they weren’t willing to mock or insult their vice president.
Finally being free to do whatever they wanted and put their creativity to the test, actors went wild. No one could deny they were completely entertained. Still, despite the show put on before them, everyone was waiting for Midoriya to return.
Naito eventually got up from his seat, quickly getting out and searching for Midoriya. Midoriya’s black heels were still laying on the stage, evidence of the unknown fight. Midoriya had been in the back hall teaching Gima a lesson.
The both of them were roughed up, Gima had a slightly bruised eye and a busted lip. Midoriya had scratches across his cheek and skinned elbows. Gima had been crying when Midoriya settled on disciplining her.
They sat alone in the hallway as Midoriya explained everything that had happened. Midoriya even explained how her boyfriend had assaulted him barely over a month ago.
Midoriya explained the trauma she and her boyfriend had brought him when none of the situation was his fault. Gima broke down crying and Midoriya glared at her before breaking his streak of silence.
“You’re expelled and so is your boyfriend,” informed Midoriya swiftly, ending their talk. Gima threw her perfect record away for a boy who cheated on her.
Midoriya turned down the hall only to run into Naito. Naito rushed to Midoriya, holding him closely. Midoriya sank into the touch and cried, fed up with the situation. Naito teared up as well, feeling horrible for his significant other.
Naito cupped Midoriya’s face and kissed his cheeks, nose, forehead, his tears, and his closed eyes. Midoriya couldn’t help but laugh as he cried, cheeks glowing a light red as he was flustered and embarrassed.
Naito grinned, pulling Midoriya close again. “You did well. I stopped by the headmaster and explained that what happened wasn’t a part of the play and that the play was to humiliate you. She will be officially expelled not only for hurting you, but for risking tarnishing the school's reputation.”
Midoriya relaxed at the news, thanking him for informing the school’s headmaster of what was going on so he didn’t have to. Naito guided Midoriya to the bathroom to clean the scratches on Midoriya’s cheeks and to bandage the skinned elbows.
Midoriya quickly fixed himself up and made sure to dab his eyes with cold water to assure no one could see he had been crying.
Opening the doors to the auditorium, Midoriya was soon stopped by the headmaster. Before anything could happen, the headmaster whispered an apology to Midoriya for not doing more to prevent the issue from happening. Midoriya whispered back his gratitude for the apology and took Naito’s hand in his own.
The couple walked down the aisle back to their original seats. The group immediately huddled Midoriya, making sure he was okay in heavy silence. Midoriya let them all know he was okay and focused back on the completely unscripted performance.
The performance was a wreck. It had started genuinely well except for the fact the pay was written to make Midoriya look like a sex-obsessed home wrecker. Then it turned into an unhinged war with everyone fighting until Midoriya stepped in a smacked the shit out of Gima. Then the actors went completely freestyle and used the fight as a way to turn the issue into the plot into an enemy-to-lovers romance.
Midoriya squeezed Naito’s hand, glad it was all over.
The play quickly came to an end as two of the actors came together for the closing kiss. The curtains slowly closed and the audience cheered loudly, enjoying every second of what they had watched.
When Midoriya and Gima failed to come onto the stage for the performer's bow, most people grew suspicious of the fight. While they had no way to prove it, they got excited at the thought that what they had seen was an actual fight.
Midoriya was standing beside Naito. The duo was beside the headmaster as people left. They thanked everyone for coming and watching. Everyone in return thanked Midoriya, loving the actual entertainment.
Eventually Aldera Junior High was exiting and Midoriya continued to thank them, pretending as if he had never met any of them before. Bakugo stopped before the desk alongside the other two bullies.
“Deku.”
Midoriya raised his gaze to meet Bakugo’s eyes. Immediately growing embarrassed at the fact his bullies had seen him, Midoriya looked away.
“Kacchan.”
“Next time, punch 'em in the throat,” grumbled Bakugo, hands stuffed in his pocket.
Midoriya's eyes gazed up to see Bakugo, Tejio, and Hifumi. It was foreign to see them not showing any malice or judgment. Shoulders relaxing, Midoriya kindly smiled.
“There will not be next time as she is expelled,” chuckled Midoriya, enjoying the comment.
“Good.”
“Yeah! I could tell she was bad news from the start!” boasted Hifumi proudly as he crossed his arm.
Midoriya grinned, dusting off his uniform. “It was very unprofessional of me, but I had to defend myself and keep some of my dignity.”
“It was so badass dude!” declared Tejio while shaking a fist with a puffed chest.
Bakugo narrowed his eyes at the two before looking back at Midoriya. “Nice to see you are doing something useful for once. Also, come by sometime the old hag misses you.”
“Tell Aunty I’ll swing by sometime. I’m sure I can get a ride.”
Naito wrapped an arm around Midoriya’s shoulder, grinning. “I’ll drop you off one day after our duties.”
“That would be wonderful!”
Bakugo glanced over at Naito and couldn't help but feel relieved to know that Midoriya made some good friends. Midoriya could read Bakugo's expression and grinned, glad to know Bakugo cared. Naito couldn’t help but be nervous as Bakugo was a hella intimidating guy.
“Bye loser,” huffed Bakugo, suddenly turning away and heading out of the school.
“Bye Kacchan,” sighed Midoriya, rolling his eyes.
Hifumi rushed past, quickly waving to Midoriya. “Bye, dude.”
“See you,” murmured Tejio, his cheeks a little flushed from embarrassment.
Naito nearly collapsed, shooting his gaze at Midoriya. “That blond guy is scary. How do you know him?”
“Our parents are close friends. I’ve known him since I was a little kid. His growth spurt served him well,” noted Midoriya, seeing Bakugo was taking his training seriously.
Midoriya and Naito stayed together all the way through Junior High. Things were a little different in their third year when Midoriya started training with All Might but had to keep it a secret. Midoriya was taken the bus to visit Bakugo but got attacked by the sludge villain on his way. Then he talked to All Might, got rejected by his idol, and ended up saving Bakugo from the same villain.
Izuku knew it was a lot of traveling, but he would go over to Musutafu every morning to train at the Takoba Beach Park with All Might. Hisashi was very approving considering Midoriya explaining he was training with a pro hero, but had to keep it private for safety reasons.
Once Midoriya got into UA High and was busy with training and school, things with Naito naturally fizzled out. It was too stressful of a time for the both of them to be in a relationship. Midoriya was obviously sad, but it wasn’t like Naito disappeared from his life.
Midoriya gained a lot of confidence after moving schools so Midoriya wasn’t insecure about his placement in U.A. High. Midoriya made a lot of friends and had a good reputation. Sometimes Midoriya’s sassiness would come out whenever he was dealing with Bakugo or was in the middle of a villain attack.
Who would've thought that a video would leak halfway through his first year at U.A. High? It was the notorious battle between Midoriya and Gima. While Mina and Kaminari wanted the juicy details of what caused the fight. Iida and Uraraka were highly concerned about the video.
All Midoriya did was shrug with a smirk, shooting Bakugo a knowing look. “Had to tame a bitch.”

Be Careful When Showering
Midoriya had joined the girls on their biweekly spa day. Midoriya really appreciated the massages and pampering that came with self-care. Midoriya’s body had recently been aching and he needed a little boost.
While Midoriya was getting a manicure, the lady questioned him on his beat-up hands. Midoriya rambled about how he got all those scars and why his fingers were permanently crooked. The woman gasped while trimming his cuticles.
Midoriya made a mental note that the edge of his nails was sharp. He enjoyed how they were just as smooth as they were sharp. The ladies all showed off what they had done to their nails.
The morning following their day out, Midoriya was talking with them before lunch. The guys stuck nearby, curious about what Midoriya was doing with the girls.
“Oh, do I have a story for you,” announced Midoriya dramatically.
The group focused their attention on him, beyond curious. It wasn’t often Midoriya wanted to share something, he was usually a listener. They were beyond excited.
“So I’m washing my ass… and I’m washing it very fast,” revealed Midoriya, being very blunt about the situation.
Hagakure and Jiro would barely contain their laughter. It caught them so off guard, they had to fight for their life to hold back. Mina and Momo were very invested, needing to know where this ass-washing was going. Uraraka and Tsuyu were relieved to hear Midoriya washed his ass, unlike some guys. Sometimes they worried for their friend's sanity with how little he takes care of himself.
Meanwhile, all the guys listened with dropped jaws. They couldn’t believe Midoriya was talking about washing his ass in front of the girls. That wasn’t something casual that Midoriya should talk about like it was a normal Tuesday.
“And since I just got them done yesterday and they were smooth but sharp…,” Midoriya took a moment of silence.
The girls already knew what was coming.
“Do you know that I stabbed my asshole,” announced Midoriya, immediately looking away in shame that he literally cut his butt because he was in a rush.
Mina clapped her hands and nodded. “Welcome to the club.”
“Happens to the best of us,” sighed Jiro, unable to stop her laughter.
Meanwhile, Bakugo was beyond amused, having to hold himself back from making fun of Midoriya. Todoroki was a bit too innocent and wanted to know how it was possible for his nail to stab his asshole. Kaminari and Kirishima had to excuse themselves, unable to hold back laughter.
It wasn’t until the next day that Midoriya found out some of the guys overheard. Todoroki walked right up to Midoriya and dropped the question.
“How’s your butthole?”
Midoriya was mortified while anyone else around was now paying full attention to the duo.
“What?” screeched Midoriya, unable to hide his fear.
“You’re butthole? You stabbed it the other day, right? I was wondering if you are doing okay,” replied Todoroki, genuinely concerned for his friend.
Midoriya’s hands moved so fast to cover his face you could hear the smack. “Oh, my god. You heard that.”
Todoroki nodded, pointing his thumb behind him. “Bakugo, Kirishima, and Kaminari were also there.”
Bakugo nearly choked on his breakfast and was visibly angry Todoroki snitched on him. “Hey! Don’t drag me into this!”
“Kacchan! You heard too?” Midoriya was on the verge of barricading himself in his dorm room for the rest of his life.
“Unwillingly,” lied Bakugo, trying to save himself however he could.
Kaminari shook his head. “Don’t lie! You were eavesdropping like the rest of us!”
Bakugo sent off some explosions. “You’re dead Dunce Face.”
Midoriya was already passed out on the ground by the time all the boys stopped fighting. And yes, he has a scar.

Best Friends Make the Best Lovers
Relationships were hard. Midoriya knew that the moment he was born. His father was absent before Midoriya was old enough to form a memory he could recollect of the man. Midoriya had a bad start, to say the least. He never gave up hope when it came to his father's return, but when he had someone as kind as Masaru Bakugo in his life, Father's Day didn’t feel as empty.
When things get good, Midoriya had to be prepared to lose it all. He lost everyone as soon as things were good. It was a recurring theme. When Midoriya turned four years old and no quirk arrived when he was nearing five years old, he was diagnosed quirkless. All of his friends, the remaining family he knew, all adults who were in his life, and the Bakugo family were gone faster than his father.
Things were less than good. Despite those that bully him and treated him like the scum of the earth, he had the unconditional love of his mother. Quirklessness was seen as this contagious disease, at least that is how people spoke about quirkless people. Midoriya got used to the feeling of being avoided and he became accustomed to humiliation.
As if the world was giving him a solid, Midoriya fell in love at the prime age of thirteen. He had been on those “talk with strangers” websites where you video-called random people. After many failed attempts, someone finally came along and appeared to be the missing piece he was desperately searching for.
This mystery person's name was Hayabusa Teru. He had beautiful electric pink eyes and his hair was a cotton candy blue. He seemed so amazed by meeting a quirkless person that he didn’t think twice about exchanging numbers. After all, quirkless people were rare.
After they took their conversation elsewhere, they got to know one another more. Teru was fourteen, about 13 months older than Midoriya. Neither minded, it kept things interesting and it was expected. There was something so exciting about meeting someone near your age that seemed like a genuine person.
Teru lived about thirty minutes away from Midoriya. Midoriya figured that was the case as he put on the setting “people near me”. The two clicked instantly. They’d continue to video call, text, and occasionally hang out.
Their friendship was strong and seemed unbreakable. That lasted for half a year before they started dating. A year later while Midoriya was sitting in class, he felt his phone buzz. Opening his phone he saw no notification so he let it rest.
What Midoriya didn’t know was that Teru had blocked him on all forms of social media. Midoriya was defeated. He gave up. Not even a week later, Bakugo told him to kill himself and he got turned down by his idol. Midoriya believed things couldn’t get worse, and surprisingly things didn’t.
Midoriya grabbed the attention of All Might and earned the quirk of ultimate power. It seemed that one person was enough to turn his entire world upside down.
Midoriya was now training and eating healthier. His mother was finally getting into the groove of things as Midoriya was finally pushing forward again and working on himself. As if things couldn’t have gotten better, Midoriya passed the entrance exam and got into UA. Midoriya was achieving his dream and focusing on himself for once.
Being a UA student, of course, was no cakewalk and it didn’t go without flaw, but Midoriya made it. Almost instantly, Midoriya fit right into the new setting. Midoriya made friends, was socializing, and had adults in his life that actually cared. Even better, he finally had father figures in his life that were a million times better than the one he gave up on.
Despite everyone seeming to go perfectly, there was something that had been bugging Midoriya. That was love. Midoriya found himself surrounded by amazing people that made him feel amazing. Part of him tried to shut out the idea of romance. He didn’t think he had the right to entertain the idea of a relationship when he needed to put all his focus into becoming the best hero.
No matter how hard he tried to focus solely on hero work and friendships, his heart was too big. He couldn’t help but be with his close group of friends and feel flustered half of the time their attention was on him. Hell, a large portion of his classmates managed to find a way to fluster him.
Iida was well-built, tall, respectful, and really fun to be around. He was protective, realistic, and probably Midoriya’s closest friend. Iida was very animated and was a whole show to Midoriya. Midoriya wanted to melt at the very thought of dating him.
Uraraka was beautiful. She moved with grace and radiated so much power with her determination that it left Midoriya breathless. She was determined to be a powerful her and support her family. She was smart, kind, extremely considerate, and inspiring. She got him all sorts of disheveled when she had him going.
Todoroki was perfection. He doesn’t understand social cues, making him awkward and intimidating. That meant Todoroki was always fluctuating between cute and hot. The two had been through a lot together, mentally and physically. Midoriya admired Todoroki and his development. Todoroki was a very caring person. Midoriya longed to be held in the warm yet cold touch of his best friend.
Then there was Kirishima, Kaminari, Bakugo, Sero, Momo, and Aoyama, and don’t even get him started on those outside of his class. They all had their own unique traits and were very entertaining. They all trusted his intuition and were fun to be around.
For a bit, he thought Monoma was fair game. It would take some work, but Midoriya was willing to put in the effort. The Monoma open his mouth during their joint training and Midoriya didn’t think he’d ever forgive Monoma for saying something so cruel about Bakugo.
Little did Midoriya know, that everyone he was interested in was absolutely head over heels for him. Bakugo would never admit to it, ever, but it was true. They all craved to see Midoriya blush. They all watched him carry on through the day with a relaxed smile. It brought them joy.
Aizawa seemed to have gotten a private message from Nezu as he checked his phone from his sleeping bag. Irritated about his nap being disturbed, he glared at his phone.
“Problem Child. You have a visitor,” announced Aizawa tiredly.
Midoriya raised a brow, confused as to who could be visiting. “Where do I go? Who is it?”
“I don’t know kid. I guess just go to Nezu’s office,” guessed Aizawa, immediately going back to slumber.
Midoriya checked the time and decided to leave his stuff in class. There were still about twenty minutes left and the visit shouldn’t be anything too major. Before he could even get out of his seat there was a knock on the door.
Iida jumped up, claiming his role as class representative. “I shall see who it is as Mister Aizawa is asleep!”
Midoriya smiled, getting up himself. “Well, I have to go anyways, Iida. You should’ve let me do it.”
“Oh! I didn’t realize that. Well, I’m already up so let me hold the door open for you!” offered Iida proudly as he reached for the handle.
Pulling open the door, Midoriya happily stood next to Iida. Looking directly at the person who had knocked, Midoriya felt like the air was knocked out of him.
Vibrant pink eyes. Cotton candy blue hair.
Midoriya felt his eyes widen, staring at the person who had ghosted him well over a year ago.
“Teru?”
The entire class felt their eyes widen that Midoriya knew the handsome teen. The boy looked down at Midoriya with an excited face.
“Izuku?”
The class found themselves fully invested the moment Midoriya’s first name was used.
Midoriya looked at the boy for a second longer before his shoulders sank a bit. “Glad to know you’re alive. Anyways I have a visitor to meet.”
“Izuku, I’m the visitor!” cheered Teru happily, looking at Midoriya for a response.
Midoriya seemed to close himself off. Taking a step back and crossing his arms, Midoriya grew suspicious. “How’d you find me?”
“I went to surprise you at your home but when I got there your mom said you stayed at the dorms in UA. So here I am,” explained Teru quickly.
Midoriya was not satisfied. Honestly, Midoriya was pissed, beyond pissed. What right did Teru have to come back a year after ghosting him only to act like they never stopped talking in the first place? Teru wasn’t going to get what he wanted. Midoriya was not going to give him what he wanted.
“You better have a good explanation as to why you suddenly want to surprise me,” demanded Midoriya, giving Teru a warning with irritation laced in his voice.
The rest of the group grew uneasy. Midoriya was almost never angry when it came to people. Majority of the time he’s angry when fighting a villain or when someone is messing with the people he cares about. This was different. This was very, very different.
Teru seemed surprised by the reaction, nervous himself. “What are you talking about Izuku? Can’t your boyfriend surprise you?”
Iida felt his glasses slip down his nose a bit as his jaw dropped. Tsuyu and Uraraka exchanged a glance, mortified at the reality of Midoriya having had a boyfriend this entire time. Bakugo was blowing up a fuse while Todoroki was still trying to process the fact that Midoriya was in a relationship.
Momo was disappointed but more fearful of the fact she had flirted with someone already in a relationship. Kirishima ignored the pain of missing his chance while Kaminari wasn’t subtle with his exaggerated crying. Sero slammed his face on the desk defeatedly, angry that someone like Teru had got to Midoriya first. Aoyama frowned, a little hurt as he had gotten his hopes up.
Midoriya's scoffing snapped them all out of their self-pity. “I haven’t seen, let alone heard from you in a year. What about that makes you think we are still dating?”
The group all felt themselves perk up. Midoriya was single and the douchebag before them was making an idiot of himself.
“Izuku! I— I had to-,” stammered Teru, unsure of what lies to spit out.
Cutting Teru off, Midoriya coldly snapped, “Midoriya. You call me Midoriya now.”
Teru felt his eyes widen, looking at the group of students watching with wide eyes. Midoriya felt the group's stares and headed out the door.
“Hall. Now.”
Teru didn’t hesitate, preferring some privacy. Midoriya turned to face Teru, visibly upset.
“Where were you? What were you doing that was so important that you couldn’t contact me for over a year?” shouted Midoriya, hissing at the bastard.
Teru, not having an excuse, lied, “I broke my phone and I couldn’t get a new one and my mom was-.”
Midoriya cut off Teru again by smacking him hard across the face. Teru snapped his gaze right back to Midoriya, genuinely shocked by the hit that landed on him.
“Don’t you dare utter another lie to me? Who do you think I am?” yelled Midoriya in disbelief. The anger diminished and hurt refiled the void, his eyes searching Teru’s face, trying to find anything that signaled Teru actually cared.
Teru hesitated to reach out, slightly scared of being smacked again. “Okay, I’m sorry, but. Look... I just... I needed a break from everything, including you.”
Midoriya laughed at that, disgusted with the insensitivity of Teru. “You never once said any of this was a problem. Not once had you even tried to explain that something was wrong or you wanted a break. You didn’t have to fucking ghost me!”
“I know and I’m sorry. I really miss you and I’m back. I’m here to stay. Let’s do this,” pleaded Teru, taking Midoriya's hand as he whispered, “I really like you.”
Midoriya looked at Teru with a disturbed expression. He couldn’t understand why Teru was going out of his way to do this. His withdrawn body language should have said enough. Besides, Midoriya had clearly proved he is not one to be messed with and is skeptical of believing anything Teru was saying.
Midoriya was filled with many emotions from the out-of-blue confession. He was embarrassed, appalled, and a bit sympathetic. It was clear to say Midoriya was nauseated as he shook his head in a pleading manner. “Please don’t do this. I can’t.”
“Can’t what? I said I like you,” backtracked Teru, slightly panicking as the upcoming rejection was settling in.
“I don’t trust you. Let me go Teru,” confessed Midoriya, his eyes locking with Teru’s.
The two stood, looking at each other with faces of distaste. Teru let out a breath and narrowed his eyes. “You really became stuck up,” spat Teru.
Midoriya smiled with a dangerous glint in his eyes as he laughed at the insult. “And you became a delusional asshole.”
The taller boy stepped off, backing away. Teru had to remind himself that he was in U.A. High and he was pushing his limits with a student there. His best odds were with him biting his tongue. Midoriya looked at Teru for a moment more before opening the door to the classroom.
“Leave before I report you,” threatened Midoriya before stepping inside. He didn’t bother to turn around and spare Teru a glance. There were no pleasantries for Midoriya to send Teru off with.
The rest of the class had been in a circle, all of them mumbling about something. With Midoriya’s voice distracting them from their conversation, they all turned their heads to face Midoriya. It was clear the group was happy to see him return. The sight made Midoriya’s heart warm.
Midoriya grinned at the class, waving. “Sorry about him! I really don’t know why he suddenly showed up!”
Todoroki walked over, standing before his friend. “So that guy isn’t your boyfriend?”
“No, things ended between us over a year ago. Honestly, I hate that he pulled a stunt like that,” whined Midoriya, complaining.
Iida nodded, understanding the anger Midoriya must have felt upon seeing his ex. “So, why’d he come back?”
Midoriya had to think about it for a second, frowning. “Actually... I don’t know. He acted like we never broke up. Technically we never did, but he was the one who had ghosted me. I guess he got lonely, saw I was doing amazing, and expected me to be waiting for him to come back.”
Wishing she had beaten up the guy when she had a chance, Uraraka gasped, “He ghosted you? What a jerk!”
“How long were you even together?” questioned Tsuyu, irritated by the information as well.
“About a year,” answered Midoriya casually, looking up at the group that was shooting him questions.
“Wow! Talk about cowardly!” shouted Kaminari, looking at Midoriya in disbelief.
Momo nodded, resting a worried hand on Midoriya’s shoulder. “That must’ve been really rough for you Midoriya. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we are glad you handled things the way you did.”
Bakugo raised a crackling hand and scoffed, “I would’ve handled it better damn nerd.”
Midoriya couldn’t help but laugh. Everyone was so protective and concerned that it turned him into a beautiful shade of pink. He was honored to be surrounded by people that had his back. They validated the part of him that he was trying to heal. He was grateful for his classmates.
Everyone melted at the sight of Midoriya glowing before them. Midoriya was a gift. He had an energy about him that just filled everyone up. There was something amazing about the way Midoriya brought the best out of people.
Aizawa woke up to everyone just surrounding Midoriya, using all the time they could to be around him. Aizawa grinned and sunk deeper into his sleeping bag. He’d ask about the situation and fill Nezu in about banning the visitor. For now, he’d rest easy knowing his students had everything covered.
Midoriya ends up getting a pile of Valentine's Day cards from people in the school. Each card came with a special batch of chocolate, all having their own special flavor to them. Midoriya realized he didn’t have to worry about choosing someone to love. It would happen naturally.
Midoriya happily handed everyone he had a silly crush on a bag of chocolates. Each bag was unique to the receiver. Todoroki got peppermint chocolates. Bakugo got spicey chocolate. Uraraka got chocolate mochi. Kirishima got strawberry chocolate. Momo got matcha chocolate. It was safe to say the entire class was impressed with the tasty treat.
It would be a while till Midoriya got into a relationship. No matter when it happens or who it is he ends up being with, he knew that his friends would treat him no different and still cherish their time with him. They were truly amazing.
Guess I managed to get everything back I lost and more.
