Mouth shapes- I mean beak shapes- for my stop motion character Ella. I need a better, softer sketching pencil for storyboarding- suggestions? In this first scene she’s a young girl and expressions and shapes would be exaggerated- and she has a very slight lisp on the ‘S’. Sphinx- Hybrid lion/human skull I modeled. When I was a kid (and now) I vividly imagined living amongst mythological animals- sphinxes, dragons, and Pegasi in particular. Finally I built flesh on top and printed in clear/solid multi material printing. What mythological creature do you dream of? Process: what evolutionary traits would this creature have? A larger skull to hold a larger brain, wider-set face and jaw for more communication. Spinal cord moved from back to a lower position for upright walking. Wider eye sockets for greater peripheral vision as it moved to more omnivorous diet. Shorter muzzle. More work on the Ella the owl stop motion character. This is one of the three or four different ages I’m going to be making her-here she is at maybe three or four years old. The outside is going to be paper and clay, with a base and removable face 3D printed. I want to tell you the heart-shape of the face was one of the most frustrating things I’ve made in #solidworks - making a compound curve cut relatively to another curved face, then automatically update the removable face plate if I were to change its outline. I will and up with a couple of fall starts-including some accidental boobies 😂Now that’s done, I get to do the much more fun part of modeling her face with clay, and get onto building the actual site.
