Could I request an ITH drawing? Daniela and a young Vanessa? I've had some very nurturing encounters with Daniela's original actress, Andrea Burns, and Vanessa is the character I most identify with.

ABSOLUTELY. Is it perfect? Nope. Does it inspire us to think and learn and rise up and challenge what we know? YES!

Hamilton is not a telling of forgotten History. It is a pointed transformation of a history that is SO well known it has become like wallpaper to us. This is why it deals with Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and Hamilton and not lesser-known historical figures (including those of color). It is a reclamation of History we all knew already (to some extent), and this is where much of it's potency comes from.

RPF (Real Person Fiction)- My Thoughts

Real person fiction is a very touchy subject in the writing community. I think when it comes to celebrities, celebrity crushes and fantasy are perfectly normal. I certainly think RPF is an understandable pastime, and not only do I read it, I have written small pieces of it about people I enjoy who inspire me through their actions and public personas, and abilities.

I fully understand why some people don’t like it and find it problematic and icky. I think its so important that if you are going to engage in this community, you are able to separate fiction from reality. DO NOT STALK PEOPLE. DO NOT PROJECT YOUR PERCEPTIONS ONTO PEOPLE. YOU ARE ENTITLED TO NOTHING.  

I may post small pieces of RPF for broadway/theatre people on this blog, and I am open to writing RPF as prompts and such.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY PROMPTS FOR RPF OR ANY OTHER FAN WRITING THAT BORDER ON ILLEGAL OR UNHEALTHY SUBJECT PORTRAYALS. I WILL NOT DISRESPECT THE ART I ADMIRE SO MUCH AND THE PEOPLE WHO CREATE IT LIKE THAT, 

 I fully understand that not everyone will be comfortable, so any posts in this vein will be CLEARLY MARKED and TAGGED so that you may safely skip over them.
