The world seems to be literally burning,
Yet within me there's a sense of ease.
Problems upon problems turn up without warning,
Yet the chaos doesn't nothing to deter my inner peace.
°
Maybe it's selfish,
To feel so calm
When there are others terrified of this hellish,
Terrifying storm.
°
The world seems to be tearing apart,
With new calamities at every turn,
Yet tranquility still maintains in my heart;
I feel no heat from the fire that burns.
°
Of course it's terrifying;
The possibility of danger.
The only thing I'm denying,
Is letting my tranquility waver.
°
The world seems to be in ruins,
Leaving most of us unsure.
But I know that within these ruins,
Are blessings forvermore.

The promise of Ease
***QURAN***
Allah’s promise is ˹always˺ true. And whose word is more truthful than Allah’s? [4:122]
So, surely with hardship comes ease. [94:5]
Surely with ˹that˺ hardship comes ˹more˺ ease. [94:6]
After hardship, Allah will bring about ease. [65:7]
And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make a way out for them [65:2]
and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. [65:3]
And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make their matters easy for them. [65:4]
Indeed, Allah’s help is ˹always˺ near. [2:214]
Allah intends ease for you, not hardship [2:185]
Or ˹ask them,˺ “Who responds to the distressed when they cry to Him, relieving ˹their˺ affliction [27:62]
When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. [2:186]
“My Lord! I am truly in ˹desperate˺ need of whatever provision You may have in store for me.”
[28:24]
Whoever does good, whether male or female, and is a believer, We will surely bless them with a good life [16:97]
And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings) [14:7]
Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you. [2:152]

Du’a is answered when rain is falling, when battle is joined, when the adhan and iqaamah (call to prayer) are given, following prayers, when prostrating, and when offered by one who is fasting, one who is travelling and one who is oppressed, and so on. All of this is narrated in well-known haadeeths (reports) in the books of Saheeh.

***SCHOLARS***
Ibn al-'Uthaymeen.
{So verily, with the hardship, there is relief} ~Surah Ash-Sharh, 94:5
"This statement is news from who? From Allaah, And His news is the truest news and His Promise is never broken. So every time things become difficult for you, wait for the relief. Every time things become difficult for you, wait for the relief."
[tafseer surah ash-sharh]
Ibn al-‘Uthaymeen.
The test gets harder when the relief is close
Ibn Rajab.
Waiting for relief (from hardship) is worship, for verily the trials don't last forever."
Ibn Al Qayyim.
O you who are patient! Bear a little more, just a little more remains.
Ibn Al Qayyim.
From the perfection of Allah’s ihsan is that He allows His slave to taste the bitterness of the break before the sweetness of the mend. So He does not break his believing slave, except to mend him. And He does not withhold from him, except to give him. And He does not test him (with hardship), except to cure him.
Ibn Al Qayyim.
If Allah didn’t want to accept your dua, he would not have guided you to make the dua in the first place.
Imam 'Abdur-Rahmăn As-Sa'di.
{With hardship comes ease} 94:5
"(This contains] great glad tidings that whenever hardship and difficulty exist, then indeed, ease accompanies and is associated with it. Even if hardship enters a mastigure's hole, ease will enter upon it and drive it out. Just as Alläh, the Most High, said: {Allah will grant after hardship, ease. And as the Prophet said: 'Indeed, relief is with distress, and with the hardship, there is relief."
Shaykh Saleh al Fawzan.
Whoever is afflicted with a hardship, then ease is near. It comes with it…One hardship comes with two eases and one hardship will never overcome two eases.
Ibn Kathir.
(Allah will grant after hardship, ease.) This is a sure promise from Him, and indeed, Allah's promises are true and He never breaks them.
Ibn Kathir.
So just as there is hardship, its equal of relief will soon arrive
Imam Al-Shafi’i.
The dua made during tahajjud is like an arrow that does not miss its target
Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA).
I am not worried about whether my dua will be responded to, but rather I am worried about whether I will be able to make dua or not. So if I have been guided (by Allah) then (I know) that the response will come with it).

Hold on for not much more remains ~
Oh you who believe,
Hold on to your Islam, hold on to your tawhid, hold on to your iman.
For verily relief is near.
Allah will eventually open His doors of mercy upon you and me.
After many tears, many nights yearning and pleading with your Lord you will one day taste the fruits of your supplications.
For Allah will never take leave of His faithful servants. He will answer the call of the caller.
Even if you fall, even if you grow tired, you must not lose hope nor despair.
Our Lord is Al Kareem and Al Ghafoor. You have to find your way back to Him and He will never let you down in your times of difficulty.
Oh Lord, forgive us if we ever lose hope.
This path, although filled with many thrones, its beautiful fragrance remains. Despite the pain we have endured our wounds are decorated with roses that grow.
May Allah not cause our hearts to deviate. May He grant us thabat through every hardship, through every struggle, through every physical and emotional pain. May Allah open His doors of Mercy upon us all. May He answer the supplications of the sincere callers. May He grant a way out for all those who desire a way.
Never lose hope, oh you who believe in Allah and the last day. Never lose hope, oh you who tread on this difficult path. Jannah is a promise for those who believe, despite everything, despite the pain and sadness, Jannah is a promise. So hold firm, hold firm with all your might on to the rope of Allah because this life is test to see who amongst us are from the truthful.

how can we choose to have more patience and contentment when tested? Thanks to the sisters who gave the following suggestions:
Read or listen to the Qur’an (because dhikr gives contentment – see Qur’an 13: 28).
Make du’a for Allah’s help, strength, and relief from the test – just as Ya’qub (AS), Maryam (AS) and the Prophet ﷺ all did.
Gratitude puts our tests in perspective and stops us from complaining; it is the greatest route towards Sabr.
Remember what others are going through – remember the Ummah, and people around you in your own communities; remind yourselves of the tests the Prophets went through – they provide us with good examples of perseverance. Bear in mind every single person is being tested in different ways.
Remember nothing in this life lasts forever, so the test will have an end inshaAllah: “verily with every hardship comes ease” [Qur’an 94:5-6].
Allah does not burden any soul beyond what it can bear [Qur’an 2:286]; Allah has confidence in us, so we too need to have confidence in our ability to get through the test.
Muhaasabah – use tests as an opportunity for self-assessment; are there things you can do better next time? Are there habits or characteristics you need to change?
Deal with your test one step at a time – i.e. if you have a task to complete, give yourself small goals. Or if you are facing a long-term test, try to have patience for that day, and start afresh with your goal of sabr the next day etc.
Have trust in Allah (tawakkul), whatever the test is – because Allah is the best of Planners and teaches us the best lessons.
Strengthen your salah: “Seek help in patience and prayer” [Qur’an 2: 153]

Fa inna ma'al usri yusra, inna ma'al usri yusra (Verily after every hardship there is relief, after every hardship there is relief). There must be a reason why this was repeated twice in Surah Inshirah. Ponder on them and see your heart returning to a state of peace SubhanAllah.
There's so much beauty about Surah Al-Inshirah. its soothing words, its reassuring tone, its uplifting message. Reminding us that Allah knows our struggles and that He will reward us for our patience and perseverance. "Verily, with hardship comes ease"

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Yusuf Ayah 89-92
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
12:89 He said: "Do you know what you did with Yusuf and his brother, when you were ignorant!''
12:90 They said: "Are you indeed Yusuf!''
He said: "I am Yusuf, and this is my brother. Allah has indeed been gracious to us.
He who has Taqwa, and is patient, then surely, Allah makes not the reward of the good doers to be lost.''
12:91 They said: "By Allah! Indeed Allah has preferred you above us, and we certainly have been sinners.''
12:92 He said: "No reproach on you this day; may Allah forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!
Yusuf reveals His True Identity to His Brothers and forgives Them
Allah says, when Yusuf's brothers told him about the afflictions and hardship, and shortages in food they suffered from in the aftermath of the drought that struck them, and he remembered his father's grief for losing his two children, he felt compassion, pity and mercy for his father and brothers. He felt this way, especially since he was enjoying kingship, authority and power, so he cried and revealed his true identity to them when he asked them,
He said: "Do you know what you did with Yusuf and his brother, when you were ignorant!
meaning, `when you separated between Yusuf and his brother,'
when you were ignorant!
He said, `What made you do this is your ignorance of the tremendous sin you were about to commit.'
It appears, and Allah knows best, that Yusuf revealed his identity to his brothers only then by Allah's command, just as he hid his identity from them in the first two meetings, by Allah's command. When the affliction became harder, Allah sent His relief from that affliction, just as He said He does,
Verily, along with every hardship is relief. Verily, along with every hardship is relief. )94:5-6(
This is when they said to Yusuf,
Are you indeed Yusuf,
in amazement, because they had been meeting him for more than two years while unaware of who he really was. Yet, he knew who they were and hid this news from them. Therefore, they asked in astonishment,
Are you indeed Yusuf! He said: "I am Yusuf, and this is my brother...''
Yusuf said next,
`Allah has indeed been gracious to us.
by gathering us together after being separated all this time,'
"Verily, he who has Taqwa, and is patient, then surely, Allah makes not the reward of the good doers to be lost.''
They said: "By Allah! Indeed Allah has preferred you above us.''
They affirmed Yusuf's virtue above them, being blessed with beauty, conduct, richness, kingship, authority and, above all, Prophethood.
and we certainly have been sinners.''
They admitted their error and acknowledged that they made a mistake against him,
He said: "No reproach on you this day.''
He said to them, `There will be no blame for you today or admonishment, and I will not remind you after today of your error against me.'
He then multiplied his generosity by invoking Allah for them for mercy,
may Allah forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!

‘Ayat’ means verses. The verses in various chapters are known as ayats in the holy Quran of Islam. The word has several meanings in Islam than merely passages from the Quran. It denotes a miracle, indication, or proof. Religious responsibilities, for instance, are ayat. The creation of universe, as well as natural occurrences like night, plants, day, and rainfall are all considered signs in the Quran. Miracles refer to benefits received by both believers and non-believers in response to their deeds in Dunya. It frequently also refers to the fate of the people. At least 114 chapters, generally known as Surahs, make up the Quran. Each chapter has a title and a different size. Ayats are referenced in every surah, and there are more than 6000 ayats in the entire Quran.
The most powerful Ayat in Quran is Ayat al-Kursi, also known as The Throne Verse. It is considered in this way because it attests to Allah's majesty. This is supported by numerous Hadith recordings, thus reciting it frequently is advised to receive benefits from Allah. One shall be under Allah's protection and safety till dusk if they recite Ayat al-Kursi every morning.
I’m a flawed believer of Allah, a perfectly imperfect Muslim, I don’t have linear religious practices but from birth until the age of I am today, I never stopped praying to Him. Whether it was performing Salah or praying by heart, I was always praying to him for every joy, every sorrow, every accomplishment, every struggle, and every ease. And He never ceased to demonstrate to me marvels and ease, which strengthened my faith in Him more than anything else in this world.
Reading about these Ayats and their meanings has improved my hope and faith in a variety of ways that are difficult to put into words. Here are some most inspiring and beautiful Ayats in the Quran that I'll share and that I find helpful when times are tough.
“He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to Him is the [final] destination” [Quran 64:3] Meaning: It teaches that Allah is every Muslim's ultimate goal. Every life revolves around Allah because He gave each person the perfect form when He created them. When people are feeling hopeless or lost, the verse inspires them.
“My mercy encompasses all things” [Quran 7:156] Meaning: It asserts that Allah's mercy knows no bounds. There are no restrictions in place. It inspires those who are confessing their mistakes and going through difficult times in life. Allah pardons everyone, Allah loves all of His believers, don’t be afraid.
“So verily, with the hardship, there is a relief. Verily, with the hardship, there is relief” [Quran 94:5-6] My favourite verse. Meaning: It calls on people to have faith in Allah and states that those who recite lines from the Quran in the face of extreme adversity would get Allah's blessings. He provides for everyone while also taking from them. This verse offers hope and is one of the key verses in the Quran.
“And Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness” [Quran 8:33] Meaning: This verse teaches Muslims to ask for His mercy and forgiveness. It says that, compassion is the most significant life virtue. Always hold out for the better and have trust in the Almighty.
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear” [Quran 2:286] Another favourite verse of mine. Meaning: According to the Ayat, Allah tests everyone and does not put hurdles in one’s way if a person is unable to overcome them. It teaches us that He is more familiar with us and is aware of our advantages. He won't subject his followers to anything they can't handle.
“Do what is beautiful. Allah loves those who do what is beautiful” [Quran 2:195] Meaning: A person must have a pure heart. The verse urges everyone to act morally and do good in this world. Our deeds must be focused on carrying out kind gestures that enrich our hearts and benefit others as well. One good deed goes a long way.
Islam is a beautiful religion. Even if I may have struggled to practice it when I was younger, I am content with my Muslim faith. This religion has always moved me, and Allah has undoubtedly helped me stay so strong over the years. As I grow older, I'll keep working on my spirituality and relationship with God, and InshaAllah one day I'll be on the correct path.

Listen,I know it sounds so unconvincing;preposterous even. But this dark period in your life will only come to account for so much greatness ahead. The relief after this anguish is near*so near. I know you feel like you cannot do it anymore, you cannot survive this, you cannot fight anymore;you're laying your armour down. But please, you cannot give up this battle yet. This is your test, your trial.Honour it.Be patient. Sometimes, life teaches us lessons in the most onerous, gruelling ways ; not to punish us but to humble us,to strengthen us,both mentally and spiritually but more importantly, to prepare us for the most predominant aspects of our being. Greatness awaits you, eminence awaits you. Jannah awaits you.Your future self requires that you do not give up or surrender. Do her/him proud.
"And give glad tidings to the patient"
" And we do not burden a soul with more than what it can bear"
"Verily,with every hardship comes ease"

There's a constant battle going inside my head.
There's a constant battle going inside my head. My conscience(Zameer) conflicting with my Nafs. I keep hearing some voices from time to time coming from inside of me, in my mind. I don't understand where do they come from or it is Shaytan who's whispering them in my ears. Stopping me from approaching opportunities. Ceasing my capacity of rational thinking. Making me self-judgmental. Compelling me to start doubting my ownself, my own capabilities. Making me saying things to myself like you're worthless, you’re lazy, you’re stupid, you’re unlovable, etc. Which is eventually making me hate myself. However, forgetting how could you hate yourself? Despite, When Allahﷻ loves you the most. Heﷻ loves you more than seventy mothers. When our prophet Muhammad ﷺ loves you the most. How?
Maybe the reason behind procrastinating over everything is also these voices. Making me lazier day by day. And when I procrastinate, I judge myself pretty harshly, telling myself I’m not a good person, I'm just like a sack of potatoes. Moreover, what concerns me is that everyone is productive and are achieving their goals, except me. Asking myself why I'm not good enough?Somedays, these voices inside of me don't even let me sleep. Spending nights overthinking. Yet, i forget that we're human beings. Our lord created us as humans. And every human has different capabilities and potentialities on the basis of which, we work accordingly. We make mistakes, making us aware of what needs to be changed in order to improve. Besides, every human has their vices too. With whom a person constantly battles or either befriend them, that means to become slave of 'em. These vices or lusts are also aroused by our nafs. When Shaytan and nafs team up against us. They trick us in different different ways with gimmicks and deceptions, to make us go astray. But we should stay steadfast on our deen, and ask Allahﷻ for help and protection from evil. However, we make mistakes, we learn and we overcome. Nevertheless, we do keep repeating some of our mistakes untill we learn from them. Though, people don't see our struggles and just kept throwing their words as knives. They don't think that their mouths could work like a bows and words like arrows. And could criticality damage one's feelings. Even if they kill someone, someday. But who cares. And it is also their words behind the growth of these voices. It isn't easy to win over these voices. It is our conscience which help us to keep fighting the inner battle, against the things that we don't speak out. These troubles we've got may arises through the traumatic events we experience or have experienced. It just end up making a chaos inside your head. It feels like a graveyard, occasionally we end up burying something inside of us. In the end, what we came to realise is that these voices are nothing but created by our own Nafs, when befriended by Shaytan. ["Auzubillahi-Minashaitan-Nirajeem": I seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaitan.] And, as for the thoughts, it can be seen as an example of a pathway where different passersby passes and it's upto you to whom do you have to pay attention to. If you gave your attention to the wrong one, it will eventually harm you. And for the right one, it will be beneficial for you. ["In-Sha-Allah": if Allah wills.] And to make a difference between the right and wrong, our conscience works. And ask Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى): "Ya Rabb, grant me the strength to change the things i can, the courage to accept the things i can't, and the wisdom to know the difference."
Somethings are better to be left unsaid. “Whether you conceal what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah will know it.” He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. Allah is powerful over everything.[ Aal-Imran | 3:29] Indeed. He's all knowing: Rab-ul-alameen. Our pain is as temporary as this world. Every disease has it's cure. Verily, it is our lord who shall heal the chest of his believers. Whosoever believe in his guidance and mercy, his heart will be cured. "...And (He) shall heal the breast of the believers." [At-Tawba | 9:14] Surely, heﷻ test us by putting us in trials. And verily, with hardship comes ease. How can we forget that this worldly life is only temporary enjoyment, and indeed, the hereafter is the home of permanent settlement? We all are here today and gone tomorrow. And all these worldly possessions will end up being worthless. And only our good deeds will remain with us on the day of judgement. May Allah ﷻ forgive us all for our sins. May Allah ﷻ grant us relief from all that suffocates us and constricts us. May heﷻ grant us peace amongst the turmoils and tribulations. May Allah ﷻ grant us protection against laziness, cowardice, miserliness and the punishment of the grave. May Allahﷻ grant our souls dutifulness and purify them from arrogance, envy, egoism, selfishness, greed, lust, intolerance, anger, lying, cheating, gossiping, and slandering. May Allahﷻ guard us all. As he's the bestower of faith and Security: "Al-Mu’min". And the Guardian: "Al-Muhaymin". May Allah ﷻ take our lives when he's most pleased with us and help us all to get over these mental traumas.
Ameen ya rabbul alameen!🌼🍃

Remember what you are working towards. Don’t let your emotions throw you off when things aren’t going according to plan. Discipline and remember how you need to think and act in order to achieve what you need. You don’t have to fake your positivity but you also don’t have to act like your world is ending when things are turning out differently. Learn to discipline yourself in tough moments and to go with the flow of what’s being presented to you. Master yourself.
Why am I always being Tested? Why is life so Hard? Why don't I ever get this or that?
I am always asking: Why was I tested?
Quran answers: “Do men think that they will be left alone saying, ’We believe’, and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and Allaah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.” [29:2-3]
I am always asking: Why could I never get what I want?
Quran answers: ”It is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing, which is bad for you. But Allaah knows, while you know not.” Surah Al-Baqarah [2:216]
I am always asking: Why was I burdened this way?
Quran answers: “Allaah does not place a burden to a soul greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns.” Surah Al-Baqarah [2:286] & “So verily, with every difficulty there is relief: (repeated) Verily, with every difficulty there is relief.” Surah Al-Insyirah [94:5-6]
I am always asking: Why do I feel weak?
Quran answers: “So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.” Surah Al-Imran [3:139]
I am always asking: How can I face it?
Quran answers: ” O you who believe! Persevere in patience and constancy; compete in such perseverance; strengthen each other; and fear Allaah that you may prosper.” Surah Al-Imran [3:200] & “And seek (Allaah’s) help with patience, perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a humbly submissive (to Allaah).” Surah Al-Baqarah [2:45]
I am always asking: What do I get for all these?
Quran answers: “Indeed, Allaah has purchased from the believers their lives and properties (in exchange) for that they will have the garden (of Paradise)…” Surah At-Taubah [9:111]
I am always asking: To whom can I depend?
Quran answers: “(Allaah) suffices me: there is no god but He: On Him is my trust- He the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme.” Surah At-Taaubah [9:129]
I always say: But i feel I can’t take it anymore!
Quran answers: “…and never give up hope of Allaah’s Soothing Mercy; truly No one despairs of Allaah’s Soothing Mercy. except Those who have no faith.” Surah Yusuf [9:87] & “Despairs not of the Mercy of Allaah: for Allaah forgives All sins for He is Often- Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Surah Az-Zumar [39:53]
One of the greatest blessings of faith is the fact that everything Allah decrees for the believer, whether in ease or hardship, will be good for him. If he experiences ease, he remains grateful and is rewarded. If he experiences hardship, he remains patient and is rewarded.
Suhaib reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him, and if he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him.
Source: Sahih Muslim 2999, Grade: Sahih
Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
عَجِبْتُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَقْضِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِ قَضَاءً إِلَّا كَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ
I am amazed by the believer. Verily, Allah does not decree anything for the believer except what is good for him.
Source: Musnad Ahmad 12495, Grade: Hasan
Allah will test us with both goodness and evil to see how we will behave.
Allah said:
We test you with evil and with good as trial, and to Us you will be returned.
Surah Al-Anbiya 21:35
And Allah said:
We tried them with both good and evil that they might return.
Surah Al-A’raf 7:168
Allah afflicts us with calamities and hardship because of our sins, and He intends for us to learn lessons from these events and to turn in repentance to Him.
Allah said:
Whatever strikes you of disaster, it is for what your hands have earned, but He pardons much.
Surah Ash-Shura 42:30
And Allah said:
Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice but then they do not repent nor do they remember?
Surah At-Tawbah 9:126
In such a situation, we are called upon to remain patient and steadfast in our faith. Such was the advice given to the son of Luqman, upon him be peace.
Allah said:
O my son, establish prayer and enjoin good and forbid evil and be patient over what befalls you. Verily, those are matters requiring determination.
Surah Luqman 31:17
When we are patient, these hardships and calamities are a means to expiate our sins.
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُصِبْ مِنْهُ
If Allah intends good for someone, then He afflicts him with trials.
Source: Sahih Bukhari 5321, Grade: Sahih
Mus’ad ibn Sa’eed reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
فَمَا يَبْرَحُ الْبَلَاءُ بِالْعَبْدِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَهُ يَمْشِي عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مَا عَلَيْهِ خَطِيئَةٌ
The servant will continue to be tried until he is left walking upon the earth without any sin.
Source: Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2398, Grade: Sahih
Likewise, Allah sends us blessings and bounties in order to test us if we will be grateful.
Allah said:
Verily, Allah gives favor to the people but most of the people are not grateful.
Surah Ghafir 40:60
Allah said:
They eat of His fruit and their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful?
Surah Ya Sin 36:35
For this reason, the believers will praise Allah no matter what occurs, even if it appears bad, for they do not know the hidden good Allah has put into it.
Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
I am amazed by the believer. If he is granted goodness, he praises Allah and is grateful. If he is afflicted with a calamity, he praises Allah and is patient. The believer is rewarded for every matter, even lifting a morsel of food to his wife’s mouth.
Source: Musnad Ahmad 1495, Grade: Sahih
Aisha reported: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw something he liked he would say:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ
All praise is due to Allah by whose favor good deeds are accomplished.
When the Prophet saw something he disliked, he would say:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ
All praise is due to Allah in every circumstance.
Source: Sunan Ibn Majah 3803, Grade: Sahih
Ash-Sha’bi reported: Shuraih, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
Verily, if I am afflicted with a calamity, then I praise Allah four times. I praise him that it was not worse than it was. I praise him when he provides me patience to bear it. I praise him when he guides me to supplicate appropriately and hoping for reward, and I praise him for not making it a calamity in my religion.
Source: Siyar A’lam An-Nubula 4/105
Therefore, let us be determined to remain grateful and patient and to praise Allah regardless of what befalls us.
Success comes from Allah, and Allah knows best.

The Names  Al-Qaabid, Al-Baasit— The Withholder, The Extender— are not specifically used as beautiful names in the Quran.  Al-Qaabid is the One whose wisdom decides when to withhold something or to make something scarce, either physically or spiritually. He is the One who holds all hearts in His hand.
Al-Baasit is the One Who expands and amplifies all abundance and the One whose glory and abundance fill and expand the heart!
Qaabid and Baasit are Opposites
Qaabid comes from the root qaa-baa-daad, which refers to the attribute of withholding. It points to meanings like to lay hold of, to grasp, to make scarce, and to have absolute ownership of something (to hold in the hand). It also means to contract the heart, which causes distress, depression, and lack of joy.
Baasit comes from the root baa-seen-taa, which refers to the attribute of expanding.  It means to extend, to grant abundance, to provide amply and to widen, to make spacious. The term Baasit includes a powerful and majestic sense of infusing something with a gift that will grow and flourish in great abundance.
Linguistically, the first name refers to decrease while the second to increase; these two actions embrace all things in existence. In other words, if Allah decreases something, this means that He withholds it, and if He increases something, this means that He extends it. Therefore these two names are mentioned together.
Our Provisions
There are different fields of Qabd (withholding) and Bast (expanding). One of the meanings  of Al-Qaabid and Al-Baasit has to do with people’s provision or sustenance.
Allah says: Allah extends provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and straitens it for whom (He wills). Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of all things. [Quran, 29:62]
Regarding people’s provision, we should not say this is due to someone being intelligent or talented, because Allah ‘azza wajal  is the One Who withholds or extends provision for people.
Allah’s extension of provision is for your honour or for your trial and His withholding of your provision is for treatment or protection. Allah says: And if Allah were to enlarge provision for His slaves, they would surely rebel in the earth, but He sends down by measure as He wills. Verily, He is, in respect of His slaves, the Well-Aware, the All-Seer (of things that benefit them). [Quran, 42:27]

Constriction and Expansion of Our Hearts
Allah ‘azza wajal withholds when it is good and gives when it is good. Sometimes our chests feel tight and our imaan feels low. This constriction of our hearts can bring us back to Allah if we take the step to strive. At other times our hearts feel spiritually expanded, our imaan, is strong, and we feel joy and strength to face the world. We daily struggle with the heart, which is called qalb in Arabic, which means to change or to turn. Just like Allah is Al-Qaabid, He is Al-Baasit who can remove any constriction we feel.
Special Equipment
Allah equipped you with a special criterion: Al-Qabd, whereby you feel depressed and dispirited as soon as you commit a sinful deed, like lying to others, looking at indecent things etc.  You feel Al-Qabd only if your heart is still alive and you are sensitive.
Why does Allah grant us our mind? So that we thereby know Him! Why does He grant us our pure original human nature? So that we know our mistakes! With our mind we know our Lord; with our pure original human nature we know our mistakes by feeling unhappy and depressed. But instead of staying in that state, we should get up, seek forgiveness, and follow up our bad deeds with good ones!
As well, sometimes Allah causes us to feel qabd (constriction) so that we reflect on its causes, like a stomachache tells us we ate something bad. Why do we feel like this? Did we put our trust in others than Allah? Did you seek the pleasure of others instead of the pleasure of Allah?
How Can You Live by This Name?

1. Know that after hardship comes ease.
If you feel in a state of constriction, look forward to expansion and lightness. Understand it is from Allah ‘azza wajal.  The Story of Yusuf ‘alayhi sallam is characterized by the ups and downs; from the well, to a palace, from prison to Minister, from separation to unity. He made the best of his situation and knew the relief was coming. Have this attitude and strength and you will succeed, no matter the situation!
2. Contemplate nature.
Allah withholds the clouds from some people and provides them to others, and in some places the rain would be much heavier than in others. This means that Allah withholds rain from some and provides it to some. Allah is also the One who ‘withholds’ (conceals) daylight and then brings it back. Allah says Then We withdraw it (daylight) to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal. [Quran, 25:46] Reflect on these types of qabd and bast every time you experience them!
3. Reflect on life and death.
Allah Al-Qaabid, Al-Baasit  infuses souls into us (bast) and gives us life, and He also seizes souls and causes them to die (qabd). Allah says:  Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent— [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed– and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving. [Quran, 67:1-2]

4. Be a source of expansion to others.
Be of those who offer relief to other people. Expand the hearts of others by reminding them of the blessings of Allah (swt) and that after hardship comes ease!
5. Do da’wah with these names!
While doing da’wah strike the balance between reassuring people of Allah’s mercy and warning them of His punishment. Because Allah is simultaneously Al-Qaabid and Al-Baasit, you as a da’ee or da’eeyah should also warn people away from disobeying Allah and encourage them to obey Him. Three things must always be dwelling together in your heart as a true believer: glorification of Allah (through contemplation on the miraculous universe), love for Allah (through contemplation of His divine favors), and fear of Him (through contemplation of His irresistible wrath and punishment).
6. Sleep in the name of Allah.
When you sleep it’s called a minor death. Allah withholds the souls of some and they will never wake up and He returns the souls of others and they do wake up. That’s why it’s very important to make your bedtime dua:  Allahumma bismika amootu wa ahyaa- O Allah in Your Name I die and live.
7. Remember the Day of Resurrection!
Allah says about another example of His power of qabd: They made no just esteem of Allah such as due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection, the whole of the earth will be in His Grasp, and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified is He and far Exalted is He above all that they associate as partners with Him! [Quran, 39:67)]

8. Beg Al-Qaabid, Al-Baasit to guide your heart.
A happy heart is the heart filled with imaan. The Prophet salallaahu alayhi wasallam made this dua often: Yaa muqallibal quloob, thabbit qalbee ‘alaa deenik– (O Turner of the Hearts, keep my heart firm on Your Religion).
Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem.

O Allah, Al-Qaabid, Al-Baasit, lead us by Your withholding and expanding  to whatever is best for us in this life and the next. Guide our hearts and grant us strong faith to believe that after hardship comes ease. Make us contemplate your perfect power by reflecting on nature and by remembering our life, death, and resurrection, and favour us by being a source of expansion for others. Ameen!

Salaam, hope you’re well. I’m going through a really tough time mentally, please can you make dua for me? Also if you have any advice on how to cope with this or anything really I would appreciate completely ❤️
Walaikum Assalaam,
In the remembrance of Allah Subhanhu wa ta’ala the heart finds peace. So do dhikr and make dua. It's okay to cry. Always keep these things in mind when you are facing a trial:
1. Try to do dhikr, it will help.
2. Think that after every hardship, there will be ease and this time will also pass.
3. We have to be patient in every trial and we will get rewarded.
4. By being patient we are pleasing our creator.
5. Trials are blessing in disguise and it will remove our sins.
6. Try to divert you mind, listen to islamic lectures, read books or talk to your siblings.
7. The hardship will go on its appointed time and if we not remain patient, we will lose the reward as well.
8. Thank to Allah in every situation may be HE is saving us from greater affliction.
9. Pray to Allah, ask for HIS help.
10. Allah loves us more than our mother and HE will take care of everything so don’t stress.
11. This life is a test and we will not get everything we want and we have to be happy in Allah decree.
12. We have to please our creator and strive for akhirah, this life is temporary and it will end.
13. When you get hopeless look at those who are less blessed than you and you will be thankful to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
Recite Astaghfirullah as much you can. As narrated in hadith
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:If anyone continually asks pardon, Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress, and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide for him from where he did not reckon.(Abu Dawud)
Following are some dua that you can recite:
1.“Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all who show mercy.”(Aayah No. 83, Surah Al-Ambiya, Chapter No. 21, Holy Qur’an).
2.“Allah is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of Affairs.”
3. O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.’
I hope it will be helpful. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala forgive us and guide us to the straight path. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala make things easier for you.
Allahumma Ameen

SURELY WITH EVERY HARDSHIP COMES RELIEF Allah promises us in the Quran, that every hardship that comes our way isnt totally impossible to solve. Like a lock which does not come without a key, our problems do not come without a solution. Every problem be it small or huge, there is definitely a solution. Do not despair of Allah's mercy, He will always help you reach the solution. With constant prayer and trust in Him, the journey towards finding our solution will always be fruitful. May Allah help us in solving our issues and provide us mercy from himself. So verily, with the hardship, there is relief (94.5) . . . .

In the Holy Quran, Allah (s.w.t) tells us that this world though full of his boons and bounties is truly a place of trials and hardships. In Surah Al-Inshirah (The Consolation)
Verily with (every) difficulty (there) is ease, Verily with (every) difficulty (there) is ease (94 5-6)
The Whole life of Prophet Muhammad (S) was full of persecution, hardships, danger, toil and difficulties. The repeated statement here is to give emphasis to the promise and its assurance of the ultimate triumph of the cause even though in the earlier stages the situation was utterly hopeless and the survival of the Holy Prophet, the Muslims and the very name of the faith, Islam seemed to be an impossibility.
Thus Allah (s.w.t) states in the Holy Quran that the believers should not lose hope because after every hardship surely there is relief.

With Hope in My Heart
“So verily, with the hardship, there is relief. Verily, with the hardship, there is relief” [Quran 94:5-6]
This year, 2020, has not exactly seen the most fantastic start. We’re almost in the 5th month of the year, and also happen to be in the middle of a pandemic. Times are stressful and people find different ways to reach out, either directly or indirectly, whenever they feel overwhelmed. I consider myself lucky in the sense that whenever I feel overwhelmed or when nothing personally feels right, it is usually an indicator that the month of Ramadan is here.
I can go on about what Ramadan is, why is it so important for Muslims around the world, but all that information is already available on the net. Believe me, those who are curious do read about it or ask their friends to guide them around the information. But what I’m currently writing, what you are reading, is hopefully going to sound a little bit different.
It has been a tough couple of months for many people all around the globe, with different struggles which have been hard on both community and personal level. Apart from that, people face multitudes of daily struggles which they may or may not even speak of. One may wonder why did I initially mention Ramadan. The reason is simple, for it is not only a holy month of the Hijri (Islamic) calendar, but it also happens to be a month of different positive vibes.
Remember when I mentioned the timing of the occurrence of this month? Till last year, I wondered, Ramadan is falling in the first half of the Gregorian calendar (the month of Ramadan moves 10 days backward every year), would we have time to prepare for it. Never in my wildest of my dreams I could have imagined that repeatedly, year after year, it comes around at the right time, when I need to be closer to God, whenever my heart needed protection and hope. This month is the month of hope and protection, the time when Muslims have the chance to improve themselves and their practices.
However, this year is different. We’re experiencing a pandemic worldwide, most of us are in a lockdown. We’re trying our best to practice social distancing. All our routines are upside down. Some may even say we have no routine. All this has impacted Ramadan this year, too.
The Mecca has been closed down, the mosques, the Friday prayers there, all of this has been abandoned. The special prayers of this month (taraweeh) cannot be prayed in the presence of all those whom we used to see every year.
Sounds negative, doesn’t it? Not entirely.
We may be locked in our homes, under the roofs of our houses, with food and water at our expense and a list of ideas as to what we can make in order to break our fast for the rest of this month. We forget to be grateful for the fulfilment of these basic needs.
Being locked in our homes during Ramadan is surely difficult for many, especially those who are converts or those whose families do not support them during this month, but we forget that the true essence of Ramadan is not about feasting with our loved ones or strangers, or to think of what we would eat when we can, it’s about feeding our souls and contemplating about our lives so far. Being locked in our homes never stopped us from making a list of things to accomplish our goals. It is also not an entire obligation to meet all our goals, but to try to go in a direction that would bring peace to our heart and soul. It is to make you pause and think of where you want to be and where you want to go. It is the time to shatter that dissonance between what you are doing and what you should be doing; what do you feel like doing with your life in this world.
This year has been strange, unique in its own way. But this year is not impossible. This year is giving us a chance to reinvent and face ourselves, something we have been putting off for long.
This month of Ramadan works in the same manner. We are given this month to pray, for our well being, the well being of our families, our communities, country, and the world. We are given this month to put our minds at ease, to take a break, to learn and to reinvent ourselves and our relations. This month has been given to us with more time in our hands while we may be locked in our homes, to cleanse our minds and hearts and to lock it in that very way for years to come.
This is the month of Ramadan for me, this is my big break to change my recent barely existent routine. It is, as always, right on time to help me get my mind and my heart back on it’s track. The happy crowds are missing, yes, but the memories we may have taken for granted are being lived in the present. This Ramadan is so different, but this is the most important one, too.❤️
