{Blog Notice} [Uta*pri]
I'm noticing some new interaction from people who likely found me through my recent Syo + Uta*Pri postings
I just want to let you all know I Have a (+Natsu)Syo A.M.V. I made to "Tears in Love" over there Have a Syo blog going back to 2012!! (I still rb new things by O.P.s to it sometimes!) There's also a ton more of Syo and co on my old blog though a lot of that is very dated to releases of previous seasons.
(I'm still following Shining Live and any new things too, this is just my mainly DigiAdvs and inspirations focused blog!!)

Doing some research for the Tropius trainer thing I mentioned to you a while back, and I'm wondering what kinds of in-universe Tumblr posts might be made in a gameverse Pokemon world if a talking Tropius made the news? I'm not very well versed in Tumblr culture, so I was wondering if you'd have some advice.
Ooh, I love to think about social media in the Pokemon universe, but it's also difficult because I have to balance my interpretation of the Pokemon universe as a kinder, fairer and more just world than ours, against the brain worms that social media gives people.
A few types of people you would probably find posting about the "talking Tropius who is also a Pokemon Trainer" news:
-Person who thinks it's gotta be a hoax
-Person who's thoroughly convinced it's a hoax and is trying to explain how these videos must be doctored in a very self-righteous tone but doesn't actually know what they're talking about. Anyone with functioning knowledge of CGI/video editing/etc knows they're full of it and tries to correct them, but the OP keeps trying to engage them in long-drawn out arguments, and everyone else is watching in amusement as the post slowly devolves.
-Person from some obscure subculture (that everyone else thought left the site long ago) posting the most unhinged takes. I would in this case like to think it's someone who bought in way too hard to Team Plasma and is going off about how humanity and Pokemon Trainer culture have so thoroughly poisoned the world that now even Pokemon themselves have been corrupted and deluded by the Trainer's cruel and barbaric way of thinking. Everyone else tells them to fuck off because they're not taking this shit from someone who's still stanning the terrorist cult that tried to send Unova into a second ice age a few years back.
-Person with anxiety who's now afraid that all Pokemon can secretly talk and that their own Pokemon have the capacity to go around telling all of the embarrassing things that their trainer has said around them.
-Person who claims to have had a talking Pokemon in their family but they didn't get on the news for it so why should this fuckin Tropius--
-Person who really really loves Tropius and is thrilled to finally have an excuse to infodump all about their favorite Pokemon.
-the memes:
"i tried the gym challenge a couple years back and flunked out by the second gym and here's someone who doesn't even have thumbs doing way better than i ever did, not sure that's fair tbh"
"if all pokemon can secretly actually talk, I'm thinking about how my purrloin has been in the room every time I've explained the plot of some bad tv show that I never actually watched, so I really just hope whenever I let him out on his own, he's going around accosting random people by yelling at them about the D*stiel confession in the Paldean dub"
"imagine walkign down a route and seeing a Tropius and thinking you've got the change to catch a cool Pokemon but when you lock eyes iwth it it just barrels towards you and pulls out a pokeball. trainer battle time, bitch."
"is the Tropius trainer only allowed to enter five pokemon into a battle bc only six pokemon are allowed on each side but Tropius is also a pokemon"
"do you think somewhere out there there's an alternate universe where a crowd of Pokemon will sit in an arena watching six v. six human wrestling matches"

If it's one headcanon that I'm not a huge fan of for Blue it's the whole Professor!Blue headcanon. While he's certainly intelligent and motivated enough to become a Ph.D. I just don't see him actually thriving in academia like at all, and this is due to Professor Oak.  He already struggles with having the Oak surname (seeing how he snaps at Agatha in Generations for insinuating that she thought he'd be more interested in the Pokedex). Even in the pokespe Manga he’s shown to have had issues being recognized for his own worth rather than being related to Professor Oak. Academia is rife with issues and I feel he would just be compared to Oak way too much for his sanity, and grad school is hard enough without being related to someone as famous as Oak. Not to mention how rude Oak is to Blue in canon; him following in his footsteps as a professor would mess Blue up severely and could potentially undo all the progress he made as a person.
Like the professor route works for Gary a lot better because Oak isn't as much of a jerk in the anime and actually seems to care for Gary compared to the manga and games. Gary also struggles more (getting kicked out earlier than Ash in the indigo and silver conferences), so questioning his career makes more sense than someone who became champion and then the 8th gym leader. Blue doesn’t really need to reevaluate his career path because he already proved himself by becoming champion.
Now, this doesn't mean that I don't think Blue would ever do research. In fact, we know he does in canon. But the thing is, you don't have to be a Ph.D. to participate in research endeavors IRL so he wouldn't need to get his doctorate in the Pokemon world to still help out on research. I see him going for his bachelor's and maybe a master's degree but not spending years in thesis hell for a Ph.D. only to be subjected to scientists who idolize Oak and then Oak himself, probably being even harsher on his academic endeavors than he was with his training. I think Blue carving out his own identity in the league makes way more sense given his character and backstory which is why I’m glad the gameverse went with him continuing to be a trainer with him helping out with research on the side.

Day Twenty-Three. "Don't Leave!"
He knew something was going on when Orym paused with his fork halfway to his mouth and eyes suddenly unfocused. His head cocked to the side like he was trying to make sense of what he heard. A slow frown took over his blank face, then the fork in his hand slipped free of his fingers to the plate below. The unfocused look in his eyes shifted to something closer to dazed and, not necessarily confused, something closer to uncomprehending.
His lips formed words that Dorian couldn't quite make out, then he released a shuddering breath that shook his entire body. Despite wanting nothing more than to place a comforting hand on Orym shoulder, the expression on his face made him uncertain whether that would help. Instead, he waited for some sign that Orym might be coming out of his daze. When several long minutes passed of nothing happening, the urge grew too great for him to hold back any longer.
As soon as his hand touched Orym's shoulder, unseeing eyes shifted their empty stare to him. “Orym? What happened? Did someone send you a message?”
“Keyleth.”
“You mean the-What did she want?”
“My...” Those blank eyes switched in an instant to their normally expressive nature, but he wasn't prepared for the tears forming in them. “It's my mom. She's not doing well. She got sick. I-I don't know. She was fine. You saw her. She was fine.”
“Do we have a way to get back quickly?”
“We were going to take an airship.”
“Then we'll ask around to find the next one that leaves for Tal'Dorei.”
“What if we don't make it in time?”
“Don't think like that. Your mother is strong. She'll probably get better before we even get there and berate you for thinking you needed to come back at all.”
“Keyleth wouldn't have someone send me a message if it wasn't serious.”
“That doesn't mean the worst is going to happen, Orym, but we should still get you home as quickly as possible.”
After a moment of staring, Orym gave a jerky nod of agreement and took a deep breath to help calm himself. “What about your brother? We can't just leave him here when there's an enormous bounty on his head.”
“We knew that getting him out of the city might be the best option. If that's what has to happen because you need to go home, then we'll go with that route. Cyrus can deal with it.”
“Are you sure?”
“Of course, I'm sure, Orym. I'm not going to let you do this on your own. All we need to do is find an airship to Tal'Dorei. How about I go handle that while you get all of our stuff together?”
“Don't leave!” A strong hand shot out to grip Dorian's wrist in a bruising hold that he wouldn't have been able to shake if he wanted to. “I can't... Please don't leave.”
“I won't. We'll do it together. We don't have a lot of things to pack. It shouldn't take long. After that, we go check out when the next airship to Tal'Dorei is. If we're lucky, it'll depart soon.”
“What do we tell the others?”
“That's up to you. We can tell them we're getting my brother out of town and someone from your home offered to help him if you don't want to tell them what happened.”
“We shouldn't lie to them. They're our friends.”
Dorian moved his free hand to rest comfortingly on Orym's back and started to slowly rub in circles. “We can tell them something important came up, so you need to return home for a while. I'm sure they'll understand.”
“What if they need us?”
“Orym, I mean this in the kindest way possible, but it's time to be selfish. The others can handle themselves while we're gone. This is important to you. You shouldn't put it aside for the sake of everyone else.”
It took Orym a moment to process his words, then the tears that had been threatening to fall broke free. Instinctively, he pulled Orym into a tight hold that tucked him safely against his chest to protect him from the world. So often Orym seemed larger than life, especially in the heat of battle, but in this moment, he felt so small. Small enough the Dorian felt like he could cover him completely from everything that could possibly try to hurt him. But Orym was too strong to ever let him do that for him. The best he could do was help him carry the burden.
With that in mind, he pulled Orym tighter into his chest and gently started running his fingers through Orym's hair to calm him. It was one of the few forms of comfort given to him as a child, which he hoped translated the same way to Orym. The last thing he needed right now was to feel uncomfortable because Dorian did something he didn't like while he was crying his eyes out. He already had so much to deal with and all Dorian wanted to do was help. Regardless of anything else, that's exactly what he would do.
When the shaking finally died down, Orym waited a few more minutes before he pulled back from Dorian's chest. Green eyes now bright red and puffy along the eyelids looked up at him with a level of exhaustion that normally came after a hard fight. After a moment of staring, Orym straightened himself up and wiped at the tears still staining his cheeks.
“We should get going. The later in the day it gets, the less likely they'll be to have tickets to Tal'Dorei for today.”
“Pack first?”
“Yeah.” Orym slid onto his slightly shaky feet and waited until Dorian joined him to start heading for the stairs. “We should see if the others are awake. We need to tell them before we leave in case we don't have time to come back.”
“I'll follow your lead. Just tell me what you need me to do, and I'll do it.”
“Thank you, Dorian.”
“You're welcome. Lead the way.”

Unpopular opinion (or not, I dunno): Bunnie Rabbot, Nicole the Holo-Lynx, Mina Mongoose and Charles the Hedgehog are characters who could transition seamlessly to the Sega Sonic world and aren't totally restricted in potential to the constant "world at war" narrative of the world they originated from.
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
(Note: I'm using neutral because I half agree with this sentiment, but want to explain my reasons as to why it won't turn out the way this anon proposes. Please keep this in mind as you read my true statement on this)
I'm honestly of the opinion that Bunnie, Mina, and Chuck can work as characters in the greater Sonic universe (in fact, my OC Yuki Tomoe takes inspiration from Mina Mongoose), but you have to majorly rework them in order to make them even fit into the Sonic universe. While I've joked a few times that Sonic's parents are royalty, even going as far as to use Aleena from Sonic Underground, Sonic Team is very adamant about keeping Sonic's family situation an unknown. So, any characters whom are related to Sonic in another part of the franchise would be heavily reworked to become characters without that familial attachment, so most of what makes Chuchk... well, Chuck get removed to keep SEGA happy.
Bunnie herself would be in a similar situation, as well, as you have to take into consideration that for most of the comic/show, Bunnie was vehemently spiteful of the technology that gave her super strength, the ability to fly, etc., whereas the Sonic Games have always shown how wonderful technology and nature would be together when it's in the right hands. The Best example of this is the Sonic CD Futures, as they showcase how wonderful the technology/nature merge is in the Good Future, as opposed to Eggman depleteing the resources of Little Planet in the Bad Future. You'd have to either 1) downplay this aspect of her character to make her fit with the franchise And 2) make her robot limbs come from somewhere else, as there's no such thing as the robotizer in the Gameverse.
As for Nicole... I can't see her character existing, as there's already 3-4 characters that fill the role of 'character that is made through extraordinary means, and learns what life is through the Sonic cast'. I can list them off if you want me to: Gamma, Shadow, Omega, and Emerl. They've done this about 3 times, four if you count Omega, and beyond that I don't know what would make Nicole unique when she: 1) Is a computer program. and 2) Would require algorithms to function as an AI. Unless you want to go the grimdark route of her being an uploaded AI like Hurst and Flynn wanted to do, I don't see how Nicole would work in the Sonic games.

pokemon (gameverse) -- green oak/reader
(1892 words)
ao3 version
What snapped Green out of his funk was some cocky brat from Johto. His name was Gold, you learned, when Green complained to you at some banquet. He spoke about Gold bugging him at Cinnabar, about how the kid wanted to fight him right there, on top of all the ash and cinders. You had smiled wryly at him, and had told him, “I bet you would have if you were still twelve.”
Green snorted in response, lifting his glass of champagne to his lips as he spoke. “Good thing I’m not twelve anymore then.”
You’re not sure when your relationship with Green Oak changed.
When you were kids, he was a menace. You were no better, but it was always Green getting the two of you in trouble. Between rushing through the tall grass Pokemon-less, exploring nearby caves with “borrowed” equipment from Professor Oak’s lab, or dumb dares down at the coast south of Pallet, the blame would befall both of you, despite all of the instigating being Green’s doing.
Even during your journey, most of your trouble—when not dealing with an interregional crime syndicate—came from the one and only Green Oak.
Roadblock of the century, Green Oak was always waiting for you. Town after town, route after route, you found him flaunting his progress, forcing you to pause in your own as he challenged you. Given, you’d always win, and Green always gave you some piece of advice or a tip you genuinely didn’t know after, but it was still a momentum breaker; another bullet point on your list of annoying habits of one Green Oak.
Squaring up against him at the final point in your journey, however, was much more fitting than fighting Champion Lance.
Green was devastated when he lost, despite the front he put on for you. There was no name for the way he left after his grandfather came into the room other than retreating, and if Professor Oak hadn’t corralled you towards the Hall of Fame, you would have run after your rival.
Champion duties took over from there, and though you were a kid, you were swamped with work. Between interviews and tv appearances, photoshoots and League meetings (the last one, you’re sure, was the only true duty you had. The other stuff was most likely Lance fishing for funds for the League—two child prodigies claiming the title of Champion within a few months of beginning their journeys was honestly quite the cash cow), you rarely saw Green.
You found out later—sometime after most of the euphoria had died down—that Lance had hired Green as the new Viridian Gym Leader.
As Champion, you had the final signature on the paperwork to make it official. When Lance presented it to you, you almost thought it was a joke. Green Oak, willingly working with the League? With you?
He’d gone radio silent the moment he left the Plateau after you won the Champion battle. You only learned from Daisy after you nearly knocked a hole in the Oak residence’s door that Green left for Sevii Islands— that he’d been gone for weeks now, I thought he let you know?—and when he got back, he had ignored you. You! Rivals, best friends, whatever, he hadn’t said a word, and now—now?!
You signed off on it, of course. Your beef with Green was yours, not the League’s, and with how desperate you knew Lance was on filling the empty hole where Giovanni once stood, you weren’t going to be petty about this.
It turned out that Green was actually an excellent pick for a gym leader. You knew he would be—duh, he was Green Oak—, but you were proud of him anyway.
Viridian perked up nicely with a new gym leader at the helm—the influx of new trainers in Kanto the season Green stepped into his position nearly rivaled the season following the Champion battle between the two of you the year before. It was a testimony to Green’s fame, as well as another boost in profits for the League, which always made for a happy Lance.
Your rival had a way of elegantly beating aspiring trainers into the ground. Sometimes, it was the breaking point for journeys, and others, it drove home just how determined they really had to be to continue. The average rate of Earth Badges actually being given out per season dropped with Green as the Viridian Gym Leader when compared to Giovanni, but Lance had agreed with you—Green was every bit the better gym leader.
Until, at least, he seemed to get bored.
Viridian Gym fell to the wayside some time during Green’s second year of running it. Your rival had openly complained about paperwork, about guest lectures and special appearances, about the banquets and meetings and get-togethers whenever someone would spare him a second on the topic. It wasn’t a surprise to see Lance pulling Green away at all those gatherings to scold him, and you weren’t surprised by the way Green would always let it roll off his back either.
Green Oak operates by no one’s rules but his own when he can get away with it, and if the worst repercussion Green was going to face was Lance being disappointed with him, you knew nothing would change.
Gold tore through Green’s gym when he finally arrived, about a month later.
You heard about it from your mother first, who apparently had been keeping up with Gold’s journey after the boy came through Pallet and charmed the little town with his familiar and nostalgic ambition. Your immediate thought upon hearing the news was how Green would want a rematch without the League rules he was required to follow as a gym leader weighing him down. When you saw Green the following morning, he voiced that exact sentiment to you. You laughed at his predictability.
Shortly after Gold had bested you a few weeks later, Green stepped down from Viridian Gym. He had an internship in Kalos under Professor Sycamore, as well as a scholarship to some college there for evolution sciences. Apparently, he spoke enough Kalosian to get by, and hearing him speak it to some lab assistant over the phone while dining at a cafe with him rattled your brain.
Green kicked your shin under the table, and, belatedly, you realized you had been staring. Cheeks rosy, you settled on staring at your drink instead.
League meetings were insanely boring without Green there to take your mind off them after he left. Gold had won the title of Kanto Champion, yes, but he had already besieged the Johto title, and held the responsibilities that came with it. He had stepped down from any sort of toe-in-the-water as far as Kanto went, and thus, Lance had kept you around. Besides, after a rematch a month later, you had beaten Gold anyway. The two of you were on pretty even footing.
These meetings though—they were boring. Green somehow never paid attention and yet always could summarize them for you afterwards. Now, with him halfway across the world, you had to struggle to keep your eyes open alone under Lance’s droning voice. At least you could find comfort in Erika, who always fell asleep at some point in these meetings without fail.
Unova was where you saw Green next. The Champions Tournament was an event entirely too flashy for your tastes, but you could see the way Green shined under the attention. His battles were magnificent and dramatic while still being calculating and precise. You ate up the way he directed his hand towards the camera with a blinding grin on the tiny television in your hotel room at the start of one battle, and from the tinny shrieking blasting through the shotty speakers, so did everyone in the arena.
Your battle against one another was apparently referred to as the highlight of the tournament, and while you understood why everyone screamed in delight as Green’s Aerodactyl took down your Charizard, you couldn’t quite place why they practically deafened you upon your victory. You had nowhere near the showmanship Green did, but when Green shook your hand post-match, the way he looked at you… His smile was soft, proud in a way that could only be directed at someone else, and with his eyes locked with yours, you realized his pride was placed in you. That was a rush of emotions not even ten thousand people chanting your name could ever hope to give you.
He was on break, Green told you later in your hotel room. He was doing fine in school, which you knew meant he was acing every one of his classes, the bastard, but the highlight for him was the data collecting he was doing for Sycamore. It took him all over Kalos, from rocky shores to snowy mountains, from quaint little towns so similar in feel to Pallet, to eternally autumn forests. Green had stated somewhere between his descriptions of the aquarium in Ambrette Town and the sundial in Anistar City that he would love to show you the region one day. When the two of you turned in that night, with Green passed out in his day clothes on the other side of your bed, you dreamt of summer days exploring a new region with your oldest friend. Maybe, after Green had finished his research under Sycamore, the two of you would make up for your childhood journey.
Your chance came nearly two years later in the shape of a man named Kukui.
He was a professor from the Alola region, a region famous for its beautiful shores and stunning flora. Your mom had vacationed there once upon a time, you knew, back when your dad was around. The way Kukui described it was from the view of a man in love with his home. When he asked for your notoriety to draw in more than just vacationers to their region, you almost gave in due to his passion alone.
Convince Green Oak first, you managed to tell him. If he had your rival on board, you’d go too.
Alola was humid, you found out. Humid and hot, forcing your clothes to stick to your skin as you trudged through the wilds of the routes. The benefit, you discovered quickly enough, was that Green would unbutton his polo down as far as the shirt would let him when the sun was at its peak.
He was a view, under the glow of the Alolan sun, no matter the hour of the day. Even the moonlight felt like it knew how to accentuate his features for you to admire as the two of you camped along routes. His hair lightened with the weeks, and his skin took on a sunkissed complexion that suited him so nicely. He had teased you for staring multiple times at first, but between weeks of Mantine surfing, battles with locals who only had passing knowledge of yours and Green’s fame, and evenings spent talking softly between the two of you, you had noticed his eyes on you just as much.
You’re not sure when your relationship with Green Oak changed, but, as you kiss him in the evening light, cool ocean waves lapping at your waists, you don’t think you particularly care.

Worldbuilding Month: Day 9
{I s2g somebody asked me whether or not Bill owns that lighthouse in this canon, but I can’t for the life of me find it. (I still have two asks for Worldbuilding Month, though, and as I continue to put off talking about the last two topics I actually walked into this month planning on talking about, I’mma probably going to answer those. :D)
Anyway, to respond to a question that Tumblr seems to have eaten, first off, yes. Bill calls the lighthouse the Sea Cottage because he thinks he’s hilarious when it comes to names, but its actual, full name is the Cerulean Cape Lighthouse. It’s been decommissioned for the past thirty-some years, though, since most sea routes have been diverted away from Cerulean Cape thanks to the Eastern Kanto Power Station—or, in other words, the Power Plant. You would think it’s actually because of Zapdos, but no, they just diverted it because you probably don’t want to have ships sailing too close to an active power plant, you know?
But the point is, it was decommissioned and actually abandoned until Bill came along and was like, “I have no idea who I have to shove money at to have this place, but I want this to be my home now.” And the town of Cerulean Cape—because there’s a town right there, between Cerulean City and Vermilion City—was like, “...okay.”
But that’s not quite as important as which canon does this blog even take place in?
(Oh, don’t worry. We’ll talk about Bill’s actual reputation with the locals at some point this month.)
The answer is ... all of them.
Or, well, most of them except Special and Pocket Monsters (the latter of which is the one where Red has a clefairy). I’ll get into why later, but first, let me explain how this works.
Gameverse Red is the same as Zenshou Red. He’s the one who fought Team Rocket at Saffron City, defeated the mysterious Viridian Gym Leader (and chased him out of the gym, basically—though he obviously doesn’t retire from a life of crime after this point), became champion, conceded championhood to Lance, and retreated to Mount Silver.
Ash Ketchum is the one who started out from Pallet Town and then ... did everything you probably are aware of thanks to the anime. (I ignore Electric Tales canon when it comes to Ash and Gary, though I adopt the hell out of it for every other character that appeared in it. Just ... just roll with it.) Ash and Gary are a year younger than Red and Blue, the latter of whom is Gary’s cousin. (Red has no relation to Ash.)
Consider all of the above to be Gen I. You’ll need this notation for later, so just keep it in mind.
That takes care of the first gen. Subsequent gens look like this:
- Most of the gens occur exactly as they do in canon, but wherever you have a choice between male or female avatars, it’s usually the female character who goes on to be the hero and champion. There’s really no reason for this, other than a joke I cracked with a reader of a sci-fi fic I write on the side, wherein someone noted the fact that Hilda and Rosa were champions, to which I responded with, “Yes, and Hilbert and Nate ran off to start a noodle cart together.” This turned out to be half-true. Hilbert and Nate ran off to start a noodle restaurant together. They’re gay, and Hilbert keeps inflicting terrible food ideas on the customers. But anyway.
- Another note: I realize in a previous post that I name each of the champions as ... not being the player characters. As in, according to the queer culture post, Steven, Diantha, Iris, and so on are still champion. The truth is that they’re actually ... not unless a character decided to hand the title back to them for one reason or another. That means that the best way to read the earlier post is by looking at it as, “This is a list I made with these characters as champion so I don’t have to immediately explain that these other characters are champion.”
- Gen II: This means that Lyra is indeed the Johtonian champion, with Ethan Gold (meaning, Ethan and Gold are the same person) not quite completing his journey. Crystal exists as well but quit her journey to become a researcher. It was Lyra who stopped Team Rocket’s attempt to take over Goldenrod City, although this plot didn’t have anything to do with finding and reaching out to Giovanni. Rather, it was just an attempt to use the Goldenrod Radio Tower to broadcast the frequency the Rockets had perfected at the Lake of Rage. (Lyra did not stop Team Rocket at Lake of Rage; that was Ash.)
- Incidentally, Giovanni never properly retired. He merely gave up the Viridian Gym after suspicions fell on him as to what he did on the side. To the majority of the public, he still maintains the facade of an upstanding businessman who cares about the people, and his cover story for giving up the gym was that he wished to focus more on his business pursuits. (This is why trying to prove that he’s a member of Team Rocket pisses Bill off just a little. Giovanni is just too good at covering his tracks.)
- Anyway, yeah, the branch of Team Rocket that tried to take over Goldenrod wasn’t trying to find Giovanni, as mentioned above, but rather establish a better foothold in Johto. They half-succeeded. Team Rocket still has a very strong presence in the region outside of Goldenrod, and the only reason why they don’t have Goldenrod is because that city’s already half run by the local yakuza and half run by criminal rings formed by Galarian immigrants, and neither of these groups have any interest in either joining Team Rocket or putting up with Rockets encroaching on their businesses. Lyra just defeated the executives at the Radio Tower, it was the locals who chased Team Rocket out of Goldenrod. With chains, knives, and guns, no less.
- Gen III: Emerald is the canon universe for Gen III, meaning both Groudon and Kyogre were awake at the same time. The western half of Hoenn was subsequently hit with a massive heatwave, while the eastern half was pounded with torrential rain. Lanette had been taken to Ever Grande for her safety early in the legendaries’ battle, and this is how she developed a phobia of intense storms.
- Sapphire Birch (daughter of Professor Birch) and Ruby Maple (son of the Petalburg Gym Leader) teamed up to summon Rayquaza and stop the battle, but it was Sapphire who caught Rayquaza and subsequently became both the hero and champion of Hoenn (by way of defeating Steven), until she conceded to Wallace. Ruby, who didn’t want the press, left Hoenn to continue his journey elsewhere. Sapphire is still a prominent trainer in Hoenn.
- The Delta Episode didn’t happen as it does in canon, but Zinnia exists in this world. She notes that it’s very different from both the one she came from and the one “the other her” was supposed to save. Deoxys was intercepted by the government and remains a pokémon known only to government officials and top-level Symposium researchers.
- Gen IV: Full disclosure: I never finished Platinum, so instead, I follow DP canon for the blog. No one knows what actually happened at the top of Mt. Coronet, including which legendary was awakened there. We do know that both Dawn and Lucas were present but not which one specifically saved the world. Both proceeded to become champions (Lucas defeated Cynthia, while Dawn defeated Lucas, then conceded the title back to Cynthia). Dawn then went back to Sandgem to resume her work as Professor Rowan’s assistant. Lucas went to the top of Mt. Coronet with an ancient artifact and hasn’t been seen since.
- Gen V: Hilbert was Hilda’s childhood friend and started alongside her but not with her (or Cheren or Bianca). They crossed paths numerous times until Hilbert decided training wasn’t for him and proceeded to retire. Hilda went on to become the Hero of Ideals and the champion of Unova, a title she almost immediately conceded to Iris (who she let defeat her so she could go off to find N).
- Gen V.5: Nate follows a similar story to Rosa: he was her childhood friend but not close enough to travel with her. Eventually, he met Hilbert, who talked him into becoming a business partner of sorts. Rosa, meanwhile, proceeded through the rest of the canon story, obtaining Reshiram from N and claiming the title of champion for herself. She’s still the champion of Unova ... and the only one who knows where N (and by extent, Hilda) are at any given time.
- Both Black City and White Forest exist. They’re right next to each other. Opelucid is a city with a mix of both old and modern architecture, and Drayden and Iris had shared the position of gym leader until Iris challenged Hilda for the title of champion. Iris never went back to the Opelucid gym after being defeated, but she is a prominent trainer who often supports actual champion Rosa. She’s filling in for Grimsley as the fourth member of the Elite Four while Grimsley’s off globe-trotting.
- Side point, but Alder exists and was defeated by Hilda. I just keep forgetting he exists because I never actually 100%’ed BW, lol.
- Gen VI: Serena and Calem are the same person. Or more accurately, Calem’s deadname is Serena, until he came out as trans shortly after the events of Gen VI. Something about what happened at Geosenge made him realize he needed to be truthful to himself because, you know. Life’s too short not to. Besides, becoming champion kinda gave him the power to be like, “Listen. If you don’t accept me, that’s fine, but just so you know, I have literally faced the gods of life and death, survived, and proceeded to wipe the floor with this region’s Elite Four and former champion.” Diantha, of course, is 100% in support of both Calem and the aforementioned statement.
- Just as an added cherry on top, which legendary did Team Flare try to awaken? And which one did Calem catch as a result? Yveltal. He eventually found Xerneas too, but I can’t go into that in case someone actually does want to read that giant sci-fi fic I’m writing on the side.
- But yeah, Lysandre is dead as hell. Sycamore is secretly devastated, which is why Calem set off to find Xerneas.
- Gen VII: Selene, a newcomer to the Alola region, is the one who did ... pretty much all of what went down in Gen VII, including eventually taming Solgaleo (“Nebby”). Lunala never surfaced, and USUM never happened.
- Lillie eventually found her way to Bill, who took her under his wing for about a year. After that, Lillie returned to Alola with copies of Bill’s notes and a thumb drive containing what they hoped would be a cure for Lusamine. Turns out, it was, and Lusamine has been well (and in therapy) since. So ... in case anyone’s wondering what happened to Lillie after the few brief times she was mentioned early on in this blog’s history.
- Elio, a boy from Iki Town, is blissfully unaware of all of this, but he was the second person to ascend to Alola’s Pokémon League and challenge their Elite Four. Acerola kicked his ass.
- By the way, Hala was an Elite Four member for all of a month before deciding he would much rather go back to Melemele Island and resume his duties as a kahuna. Molayne took his place (at Kukui’s request) and has remained ever since. The other admins are still baffled by how this man can be a hardcore gamer and Elite Four member and still have time to both do science and run the storage system ... except Bill, who is an unrepentant workaholic who doesn’t sleep, so therefore, his opinion doesn’t count.
- Gen VIII: Victor is just one of Hop’s friends. He's traveling mostly to keep up with what Hop’s doing and support his friend, but he doesn’t really go out of his way to adventure or get stronger.
- Gloria, on the other hand, is the hero of Galar and will absolutely kick your ass in a heartbeat. She doesn’t have a Scottish accent, but she does have Cumbrian one, given that Postwick is literally supposed to be Windermere. Anyway, she’s the chosen one for Zacian. (Hop gets Zamazenta.)
- Chase and Elaine do not exist, LGPE did not happen, and I don’t know what you’re talking about.
- All of the events that are actually stated as happening above occurred pretty much in rapid succession, within a few years of each other. Or to make this visual even clearer, the timeline is as follows:
Gen I (FRLG) happened at the same time as Gen III (Emerald). > Ash Ketchum left Pallet Town a year later. > Gen II (HGSS) and Gen IV (DP) happened two years later. > Gen V (W) happened three years later. > Gen V.5 (B2) and VI (Y) happened two years later. > Gen VII (Sun) happened three years later. > Gen VIII (Sword) happened three years later > the Crown Tundra sideplot of this blog happened one year later.
This means it’s been fifteen years since Red and Blue left Pallet Town and fourteen since Ash left.
That said, circling back to Bill and his team, I know the Pokémon anime states that the storage system is a transfer system and that it was invented by someone else, but because all of this went down in the infamous porygon episode, I can say that’s not true, and you probably wouldn’t have known otherwise if I didn’t just tell you. So Professor Akihabara doesn’t exist, and the digital storage system does.
But yes, Bill lives in a lighthouse he calls the Sea Cottage. He dyes his hair green and speaks with an accent that to our ears in the real world sounds awfully British, and in addition to being a tech researcher/engineer, he studies ancient pokémon behavior on the side. His backstory (hated school, used a trainer’s journey as an excuse to get out of going, had an ivysaur that evolved into a venusaur and inspired him to become a researcher) is lifted straight from Electric Tales, but a few side details are either taken from the games (details about his family, being the son of a fellow pokémaniac who annoys the piss out of him, etc) or How I Became a Pokémon Card (he once met a dratini that was the child of a giant dragonite, and furthermore, he gave dratini its official National Dex name). As for which pokémon he’s fused with, it was a clefairy (first, according to the games), followed by a rattata (Special), and finally a nidorino (Zenshou, also games).
That said, I also ignore a lot of Special canon, in part because I didn’t read much more than the stuff related to Bill and in part because I just ... don’t really care for Bill’s interpretation in that universe. Oh, sure, it’s funny to see him try to throw hands whenever possible, but I just kinda grew up with the chiller Bill from literally every other universe. That and I kinda want to provide Bill content that doesn’t just fall back onto the default interpretation for him, which always seems to be some variation of the Special interpretation. So while I still take elements from Special (his birthday is another one, for that matter), the vast majority of the canon I use is really from other sources.
Same thing can be said for the rest of the canon used here. The short version of all of this is that I rely on a mix of the anime and games for all facts offered here, coupled with my own twists on canon when it comes to characters and timeline of recent events in order to blend the two together.
It’s confusing, but just roll with it.}

Paul/Ursula would make a good ship so that Priscilla would have a mean cousin. Reggie/Maylene would work, too.
While I'll admit I haven't finished DP yet so my feelings could change on this, I just don't see them being able to make a relationship work?  They just seem like they wouldn't get along and any relationship would be short lived at best. And the idea doesn't interest me enough to try and make them work. Plus Conway/Ursula is the ship I've had in the back of my mind for a while and am only waiting until i finish DP before deciding on it. Easier to stall than to retcon. Even if Priscilla gets a cousin through Ursula, it's unlikely they would interact much, if at all, so my concern would be how this hypothetical kid would relate to the other Sinnoh characters.
While I've finally watched the Reggie/Maylene episodes and understand why people ship them now (and I did genuinely find them cute together), the gameverse in me says to keep Maylene/Candice. Regardless of whether or not I revive North, I do still like the idea that those two are a couple.
This is neither here nor there, but related to Paul and Reggie in general, I can already tell I'm going to struggle to do anything with them. There's no particular ship that I find interesting involving either of them at this point, so they're very likely to remain in limbo unless some idea comes to me that I want to use. As this is still a gameverse AU at it's heart, I don't feel as compelled to use all the major anime characters. The ones I did something with were either because I really liked their character, liked a ship involving them, or I had an intriguing idea I wanted to use them for.
Within the past week, I was tinkering with the idea of having Paul be an omega, over going the obvious alpha route, and if that would open up any interesting possibilities. But even that's more a vague idea over anything concrete. If I do do anything with the anime exclusive Sinnoh characters, it will only be after I finish DP.

I had an urge to revamp my gameverse!Rivaltrioshipping fankids last night, so I did the best I could to recreate them in the anime face maker app I sometimes use since I didn’t have the time for anything else.
In order: Eldest twins Winter (in blue) and Lenore (in pink), middle child Delphine, and the baby of the family Antionette.
Under the cut is a bit about them and their parents (somewhat organized but not in any special way).
Info about the kids first:
. Winter is the older of the twins and is the gym leader of the Snowbelle City gym, taking over after Wulfric retired. Her gym is essentially a DDR-themed maze, where if a challenger messes up the rhythmic pattern they’re supposed to follow, they go sliding on the ice and have to start over. For challengers who cannot do the challenge (or simply don’t want to), they can take the ramp up to her, battling the gym trainers along the way.
. Winter’s starter was Spheal, hatched from an egg her Aunt Serena gave her. I haven’t decided on her full team yet, but she does have a Walrein and a Glalie. She can mega-evolve her Glalie using the mega stone in her headphones.
. Winter’s hair is essentially Diantha’s but wavier and with a wavy ponytail in the back, the ponytail curling like a Ratatata tail (think Alexa’s hair). Her coat was purposefully styled after Wulfric’s.
. Winter prefers to use prosthetic legs over using a wheelchair.
. Lenore is the younger of the twins and is a scientist/researcher in her father’s lab. Her focus is on Pokemon genetics and in particular what causes a Pokemon to have unusual coloring/look. This interest started when she was a child, as her starter just happened to be a shiny Pokemon.
. Lenore’s starter was Spinda, hatched from an egg her Aunt Serena gave her. I think I’ve settled on her full team already, that being Spinda, Diggersby, Kingler, Honchkrow, and Machoke (the last of which she refuses to evolve). She is the only one of her sisters to not have a preferred typing for her team and the only one not to have a full team of 6 Pokemon.
. Lenore’s hairstyle is two pigtails on each side of her head, the pigtails styled together to resemble a DNA strand/double helix. As a scientist she of course has the classic white lab coat.
. Lenore prefers to use a wheelchair over having prosthetics.
. Delphine isn’t exactly sure what she wants to do as a Pokemon trainer, and because of that she delayed her Pokemon journey until her younger sister Antionette was old enough to go on hers. In a technical sense she’s fantastic at Pokemon battling, but has no strong feelings on it in either direction. She’s hoping a Pokemon journey will help her decide her future.
. Delphine’s starter was Fennekin, and she refused to get an egg from her Aunt Serena, thinking it would be an unfair advantage over other new trainers. She has a Psychic-type team, but I haven’t decided on what Pokemon she has besides Delphox, Gothitelle, and Malamar. Due to raising Psychic types and having an affinity for the color purple multiple people have suggested the she become a Hex Maniac, but she doesn’t agree.
. Delphine is incredibly self-conscious about the sound of her voice (she hates how deep it is), so she rarely talks to strangers and really only opens up to her family. (Luckily, her Pokemon have easily picked up on her non-verbal commands.)
. Antionette eagerly awaited the start of her Pokemon journey, as she knew exactly what she wanted her future to be; inspired by her older sister becoming a gym leader, Antionette decided that she was going to raise Water-type Pokemon and become Kalos’s Water-type Elite Four member.
. Antionette’s starter was Froakie, but gladly accepted an egg from her Aunt Serena, which is where her Kabuto came from. I have her team decided too - Greninja, Kabutops, Mantine, Octillery, Gyarados and Barbaracle.
. Antionette’s hair is pulled into three buns, one on top of her head and two hanging low. She wears a tiara because she thinks it looks pretty, but it also serves to hold her Gyarados’s mega stone.
. The twins are about 20 years old, Delphine 16 years old, and Antionette 13 years old (in my headcanon Kalos’s minimum offical trainer age is 13).
. People often assume that the twins are Trevor and Shauna’s biological children due to their physical traits, but they are not. People also often assume that Delphine is Tierno’s biological child due to her physical traits, but she is not either.
-
And some quick info about their parents:
. Trevor is Kalos’s professor, Shauna is a teacher at the Trainer School in Santalune City (her focus being in battling basics), and Tierno is a daycare worker at the Pokemon Nursery on Route 7.
. Tierno was originally studying to be a fully certified Pokemon Breeder, but decided to pause his studies to be a Stay-at-Home Dad while the kids were too young to go on their journeys/to Trainer School.
. Due to Shauna being a teacher at the Trainer School, the three of them settled down in Santalune City, with Tierno and Trevor flying out to their respective work locations everyday.
. Since the three of them couldn’t legally get married, in the eyes of the law they simply cohabitate together. However, they did still have a wedding ceremony/bought wedding rings, and likewise Trevor and Shauna legally changed their last names to Tierno’s (Zelkova).
. Since the three of them are not legally married, in the eyes of the law the kids are Trevor’s children. They decided to have Trevor be their legal parent/guardian for a variety of reasons, the main one being that being the professor of the region has multiple financial/societal benefits for their kids that being the children of a teacher or daycare worker would not get them.
. The three of them were only planning to adopt three children at first - the twins and then a few years later Antionette. However, around the time they were in the process of adopting Antionette, they met Delphine in the streets of Lumiose City (since it’s basically canon that Kalos, or at least Lumiose, has a terrible child care system), and soon decided to adopt her as well.

Talks Machina Summary, Episode 60
*SPOILERS*
Fjord got 5 out of the 10 natural ones during this episode and the M9’s 60th “how do you want to do this?”
Yasha has raged 45 times so far during the campaign.
Brian lays down the rules.
Travis is going to try and survive the rifts in Xhorhas and the Gameverse, but he feels no responsibility to try and fix them.
Yasha’s connection with the Stormlord is still very new. She isn't sure how she's supposed to communicate and she's basing her attempts to contact the Stormlord on her friends’ relationship with their gods. Yasha thinks Jester’s acts for the Traveler are a little out there, but she'll admit that they yield results.
Matt Mercer interlude.
Fjord ate moldy bread and tripped out on the boat in his youth which somehow led to his fear of snapping turtles.
Ashley thinks it wasn't the time for Yasha to break out of her restraints just yet. She didn't realize it was possible to grow feathers on Yasha’s wings.
Travis played more defensively this game and tried a more Caleb-like approach to combat to avoid dying as a result of his reduced hit points.
CAMPAIGN ONE SPOILERS
Travis was excited to hear the “where do you find your strength?” line again. Ashley forgot about that line being used before because she was so caught up in the moment.
Grog moment.
Travis was not ready to have Fjord have that conversation with Wursh the half-orc. It was a cool parallel, and Fjord really wants to talk to him again.
Yasha has a chip on her shoulder about her wings because they often garnered fear from the people around her. She used this to push people away from her.
Accidental therapy.
Wursh was so direct with Fjord that Travis felt unsettled and took the “poker route” by hiding his emotions. Fjord doesn't want to show weakness and wants to bring up his emotional vulnerabilities on his own terms.
A hypothetical scenario that Brian put way too much thought into.
Caduceus’ advice to Yasha definitely helped. Cad is so full of life that Yasha is going towards him “like a moth to a flame.” At this point, Yasha is open to any advice.
Travis avoids a question about showing off for Jester.
Yasha thinks she weird, but doesn't quite know what she is. Ashley wouldn't elaborate more on if Yasha knows she's an aasimar.
Killing the goblin may have resulted in the loss of an important character.
Fjord is using his charisma more because he no longer feels he has to pretend that he's something he's not for the group. Before, he was pressured into a leadership position and wanted to portray a serious persona. That has very clearly changed.
What happened with Yasha’s wife is still a sore spot due to the choices Yasha made. She's still not ready to open up to the entire group about it.
Fjord is interested in Cad and Jester’s relationship with their gods, so he will probably question Yasha about hers. His relationship with his patron is obviously not great, so this could be a potential opportunity for Fjord and Yasha to grow closer.
Fjord is still incredibly curious about the arcane, hence his interest in Soorna’s mask and rituals.
Yasha has a level of compassion and empathy that Ashley didn't initially expect to be there. Yasha feels apologetic about the choices she's made in her life and will continue to apologize until she figures out what she's even apologizing for (which was the reason why she said sorry to Soorna when killing her kinsmen).
Barbarian battle cry.

Happy Birthday Jumin Han!! (and also some theory dropping)
Firstly I'd love to say Happy Birthday to our lovely Jumin, and damn do I love that title art!
Tumblr media
That aside I would love to post an update of some theories I'm hoping to chat more about it the future, I'd like to say near future, but the reality is I work full-time and have a lot on my plate right now on top of that. I apologise for being so quiet for so long but it has been QUITE the year. I got married this spring and also honeymooned in Japan, and after that got welcomed back by being slammed at work with work ever since.
Ok so some theories I hope to bring to you all in the months ahead after I do some more replays of certain routes are:
Is Zen V in disguise? (Did he go back in time to fix everything and get his way?)
Are Saeran and 707 really just split personalities in one person? (That later get duplicated from time travel)
And are you...Rika? (Yikes! I'm starting to sound like Yoosung, but then again, maybe he was right all along...)
And finally I plan to add more about the creation and purpose of the Mystic Messenger gameverse, and hope to have a special 'After Ending' comic coming up at the end of this month for you all to enjoy!

Gameverse!Dawn for the meme?
- My NOTP for themNone, all ships with Dawn I’ve seen have potential - My BROTP for themLucas/Dawn.  I really like the idea of them growing as friends over the course of the game and then that friendship continuing for the rest of their lives (plus since I’m a hardcore Lucas/Barry shipper, I like to make Dawn and Lucas BFFs in AUs). - My OTP for them Riley/Dawn. It use to be none, but my fankid AU made me super fond of this ship. - My second choice pairing for them Probably Barry/Dawn.  For as much as Barry/Lucas is my OTP, if Dawn’s the protag, then they’d be the ones with the dynamic I like about Barry/Lucas- My fluffy pairing for themRiley/Dawn is my fluffy pairing, or at least I tend to portray them as a soft pair with little conflict. - My angsty pairing for them Cyrus/Dawn, since any pairing involving Cyrus is automatically angsty- My favorite poly ship for them Riley/Dawn/Cynthia as a more legit pairing, Cyrus/Dawn/Saturn as the angst route- My weirdest pairing for themHonestly, Cyrus/Dawn, since I have a really hard time seeing any ship with Cyrus working (but by god, do I still try).  Although I do have to give an honorable mention to Dawn/Giratina under very AU circumstances.

Ship Meme! Tagged by @the-cryptographer ~
1) Ultimate Otps:
Which of them have ‘ultimate’ qualities...? GS Isaac/Alex would be kind of an ‘ultimate power’ ship, if they got a plot with twists and turns and character development and reasons to cooperate. I’d expect that more from fic than canon - so many other canons have lots of epic slow burn adventure fics for hero/villain-or-antivillain ships. But so far in GS, for those two, I’ve mostly found (good) crackfic, or non-shippy ‘they fight to the death and Isaac wins and marries Mia’  stuff that doesn’t treat them with even as much nuance as the canon.
Not that I mind mudshipping - my ultimate GS polyship would be something like Isaac/Mia/Felix/Alex(/Veriti/The Ice Queen), with interesting dynamics between every two characters in that set of four (and Mia/Veriti), even with some of the bonds possibly being platonic. Though when I’ve written long plotfic it’s very easily gotten platonic/ambivalent/angsty bc it tends so much towards drama, and conflict may drive plots (hence its abundance in plotbunnies), but I find it hard to headcanon characters getting past hurts and grudges very easily; I want to see them make the effort, but it feels like they’d need a lot of time and personal growth to get there, and I might not even figure how well they do until I’m almost 100K words in. And in some very angsty verses there’s no chance. I want to read other people’s adventure fic too, with fun ideas that manage heel-face turns or antihero plots in a slightly lighter way...
PMMM Madoka/Homura is another ‘ultimate power’ ship, if they can get to a point where Godoka and Homucifer can deal with each other as equals again, both with full knowledge of everything that’s happened and the resolve to truly save themselves, each other, and the rest of the universe. :o
Utena/Anthy is quite an ‘ultimate reality’ ship, when they find their revolution.
2) A ship you’ll always 💜??
The Harvest Moon fan in me is going ‘purple heart? that’s not a very high level of affection??’ ...but taking it as an emoji for ‘love’... without repeating anything above, pokemon Green/Red is always nostalgic (gameverse Ash/Gary, the names get a little confusing as there are localisation differences and I like the old manga and anime too but haven’t watched/read anything recent in those canons).
GS Imilshipping, too, in fic verses where they had a close bond. FE Lucia/Ilyana, I wish they had epilogue content after their support, still mean to write out a plotbunny for them sometime. Soren/Ike, of course, and Tibarn/Reyson.
ToS Lloyd/Colette/Sheena/Zelos, again with strong bonds between all of the pairs in that foursome. They did so much to help each other find hope by striving to save and trust each other, creating a new kind of salvation together.
Skies of Arcadia Fina/Aika/Vyse, Vyse/Ramirez, and Ramirez/Galcian. Never found much fanstuff for it, but it caught the imagination.
3) Current obsessions??
Lots of MadoHomu vibes after getting a oneshot written for them. Confident!Madoka makes both of them happy when they’re not dying; it’s a shame she doesn’t get much screentime as her confident and cheerful self, since so much of her time as a magical girl passes offscreen. Even while she was more unsure during the series, she demonstrated her desire to protect her friends, and Homura commented time and time again on her kindness - she loves her for it, and when she discourages it anyway, it’s because she’s come to believe that it’ll be the death of her. If they were truly safe, they could support each other so well - it could be a world away from the desperation that marked the end of Rebellion, when neither of them are at all okay. :s
Also getting quite into darkfic plotbunnies, and I know ‘darkship’ is a term in some cases for character dynamics fulfilling their worst potential, descending into violence and destruction that at least one character Does Not Want, but in the verses of those plotbunnies I guess they still fit the label of antiships better than ships.
4) A ship you never thought you’d like??
Uh, a lot of the stuff on the gs kink meme caught me by surprise, when rarepairs got suggested and the fills or plotbunnies got interesting - Alex/Ivan, Eoleo/Rief, Alex/Amiti (in a BAD IDEA way). And on lj/tumblr, Mia/Sheba was pleasant surprise too. Not that I ever had any preconceptions about disliking ships, they just hadn’t occurred to me.
In FF7, I don’t think I expected to see compelling Cloud/Seph or Zack/Seph at first, all those years ago, but I quickly found that there are a lot of good AUs and darkfic. Especially when they’re alongside other good ships like Cloud/Zack, Aerith/Zack, Aerith/Cloud, Aerith/Tifa, Tifa/Cloud etc.
5) A ship you used to like but don’t anymore:
Uh idk exactly. I used to read a lot of Buffy fic by ship to find characters whose dynamics were interesting in the show, but iirc I ended up skimming any content that was really ‘shippy’ to get to the plot and jokes and emotional bonding over real stuff, not random physical attraction, and nowadays I don’t think I’d bother skimming so much stuff just bc I hoped it’d be interesting and wanted to keep giving it a chance.
6) A ship that should be canon??
Well some that are very strongly implied but not explicitly stated feel like ‘yep that’s canon’ but could maybe use some more in-universe and author confirmation when not everyone seems to agree - Ike/Soren, Utena/Anthy in some versions of canon, etc.
7) A canon ship you hate???
I like to hate the way darkships go sometimes, but that’s what makes them an interesting story, going ‘noo’ about characters’ bad decisions, though that usually only works if they had better potential that they’re falling short of, not necessarily in a romantic sense... Can’t think of many cases where that happens in canon. Uh I think most explicitly canon relationships are either one option among many routes (and I get tired of support grinding), or I’m a bit indifferent, or if I dislike how it’s done I’d still start playing devil’s advocate and wondering how it could have been done differently if I spend any time considering it.
Oh in FE Awakening I kinda hated how Virion’s flirting in the main plot cutscenes was creepy and painted him as a bad joke, but his supports are much better and some of them are great - how do you explain liking his ships when he has such a bad start (and such bad English voice acting)? I also hated the way the player character’s support options didn’t all show up until endgame, so I missed them the first time and had to replay and wait until then to support grind, and then it all got repetitive grinding the same dlc maps so many times over just for such short supports, and the endgame marriage candidates that were most interesting (bc how the hell could the game make that work, with a head of state or a former enemy??) ended up with really rushed and unconvincing relationship development, and the child recruitment maps were hellishly difficult at that point in the endgame, and all in all it got a bit un-fun and not worth the effort. :/
8) A ship you shipped for years??
Most of the above. Also stuff like Saiyuki Sanzo/Goku, GS Alex/Felix or /Saturos, Jenna/Sheba, Karis/Sveta, Pokemon Misty/Erika, FE Florina/Lyndis, and, uh, probably stuff that I’m forgetting right now.
9) A ship everyone 😍 but you don’t care for?
...Was there anything? Some of the cliche stuff bugs me, but I’d usually think ‘what about writing the dynamic this way and maybe adding poly?’
10) Favorite rare pair???
Mm what's rare? Any gs Alex!ships at this point...
Edit: I forgot to tag anyone, so. If meme time sounds like fun, @sazandorable, @meganekkomeguca, @droory, or anyone who feels like it?
