for you, my friend, i offer the au i've rebooted about 3 different times, in which the lynch brothers are faerie princes, exiled on a quest of mettle, while gansey is off in his own corner, dealing with having true sight and the fact that faeries are Fucking Scary. blue is Not A Witch, but noah (drowned changeling child extraordinaire) sure seems to think she is, and adam has no idea that he's a medium responsible for maintaining the veil between the mortal realm and faerie, nor does he realize that he's been slacking at that until ronan goddamn lynch comes barreling into his life full-throttle, iron-sick and demanding A Key he has not possessed for a single second of his miserable little life!!!! (to be unfair to adam, he really should have guessed shit was hinky when he started dissociating into weird forests, but it's just that he has so much shit to do???? who even has the time to litigate their hallucinations???????????)

declan as a faerie is exquisitely unsettling, bc the unconscious human discomfort that comes with being around faeries chafes So badly against his magicked facade of Extreme Blandness. like you're cracking wise with a 20-something middle manager in a navy blue suit in a starbucks bc you accidentally got each other's drinks, but the entire time your skin is crawling and every time you glance away, you could swear there's something wrong with this man's eyes
