3, 4, 16, 30 fanfic ask game!!!!
3. Do you share your fic ideas, or do you keep them to yourself?
It depends. Sometimes I spill if I’m talking to somebody about our writing; otherwise, I try and keep it as largely a surprise.
4. How do you choose which fics to write?
I come up with ideas, and I end up writing them based on how feasible they might be, and if I have time for them. Honestly, most of my ideas have panned out as fics already (or will, at some point).
16. Do you write by hand, on your phone, or on your laptop?
On my phone.
30. How much do you edit your fics?  Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?
Again, it depends. If it’s been a while since I’ve returned to my draft, I scan back through the story so far to see if I need to make changes. But I usually do one big gloss-over at the end to make edits; that’s a given.

Hey baby 😘 for the writer ask game, ❤️, 👻, 🐇, 🥳, 🦋, 💘, 🤔, 🎨
Hello there baby 🥰 thank you so much for the asks, these games are always so much fun ✨ link to the original questions are linked down below to anyone that wants to play and I hope you do because I love to snoop and ask questions 😉
❤️- what is your favorite line you’ve written in a fic?
This comes from the end of Chapter 10 of The Padawans right after Barriss reunites with Luminara and is just about to face Darth Vader.
“No.” Barriss proclaims, igniting her blue blade, “I am a Jedi like my Master before me.”
This moment always comes to my mind when it comes to favorite moments because it’s a moment I would die to see in canon; Barriss returning to the Light and reinstating her identity as a Jedi like the woman who had raised her. Not to mention it’s also a parallel to Luke’s line in Episode 6 which is also my one of my favorite lines in the entire saga. Need I say more?
👻- what is your wildest headcanon?
Currently, that Master Katri is indeed Luminara’s Master despite the possible timeline issues but I want a powerful luminous female Mirialan Jedi line for Barriss to hail from…so yeah…it’s canon to me.
🐇- do you write for yourself, for others, or both?
In the beginning, I wrote for myself but once I started receiving so many wonderful comments of how much people enjoyed my stories then I decided to write for both. Writing makes me happy and at peace and I want to share that same happiness and peace with others through these stories.
🥳- why did you start writing fanfic?
Because I was starved of the content I wanted to see so I decided to make my own stories whether or not people liked them or not 😄 And I wanted to humanize the Mirialan characters more since both Luminara and Barriss receive a lot of unjustified hate in the fandom.
🦋- which character is your favorite to write?
It’s a toss up between Barriss and Luminara since they are both such complex and sweet characters that need exploring. I find a lot of myself in these characters which makes it easier for me to find their voice but I enjoy being able to get creative with them since we have scraps to go off of in canon.
💘- is it easier to write angst or fluff?
It honestly depends on my current mood 😂 if I’m in the mood to write something more fluffy and romantic then it will be easy but other times angst is easier to write because life sucks sometimes and I’m just full of angst.
🤔-would you ever want to write something for canon if you got the opportunity?
Depends on what the story would be and how much creative freedom I’d have. I mean of course I would be elated to write a canon Star Wars anything but it would need to be something I would actually enjoy writing. It wouldn’t be write for me to do a project where I don’t really care for a specific characters or not as knowledgeable about certain things like the Mandalorians, etc. I love my Jedi and I love my gay romance, so that’s where I’d love to stay if I could.
🎨- if someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
First of all I am always honored whenever artists show me sketches of anything that stems from my work and I would continue to love and praise anything anyone creates but if I had to pick one scene that I would love someone to do, it would be one of the climatic scenes in The Padawans story where Darth Vader is carrying an unconscious Luminara in the wreckage of the Vader vs Barriss fight. Luminara makes a choice to save Barriss and sacrifice herself before Vader could get to her. Meanwhile Vader wants Luminara for his own selfish purposes because the Anakin part of him is wanting some sort of mother figure back in his life. So seeing any imagery of Vader showing vulnerability after such a noble sacrifice from Luminara’s part would be very cool to see.

Fanfiction Writing Ask Game
5. The fic you’re most proud of writing?
I have to say, it’s a bit of a tug-of-war between Lift a Sail and Anchors.
Lift a Sail started the series that I’m still enjoying crafting and it was the first time I had ever written so many chapters and reached a novel-length word-count.
But Anchors is the one I poured my heart into the most and I’m still amazed at how it all came together. I’m so glad it’s message about family and home came through and reached so many, and I’m elated that the story resonated with so many who have been through chronic pain and disability.
So I think Anchors get to win this round.
19. Have you ever created an OC for a fic?
Oh, yeah. I make plenty, really—if plot calls for extras, I makes extras. I try not to get too bogged down in details for like passersby and shop vendors but I always try to make them real. I use advice like “give everyone a reason to be in the story” and “write every character like they believe they’re the main character and the story is about them” when making even extras, often because I find that even giving them a name and a backstory (that most likely won’t trickle through to the actual narrative but I’ll know) helps paint a picture in my mind which, in turn, helps flesh out the world and the scene.
(Because I write quite a bit in Star Wars, I always try to make OC’s aliens—because I just love aliens and I feel there should be more shown—so I use little tidbits about the alien species to aid the story. For instance: if this OC is of an aquatic species but they’re a shop owner on a desert planet, how’d they end up there? Are they struggling with the dry heat? Do they have some accommodation like a humidifier around? It all paints a scene for me and I’m not saying it’s totally necessary but I enjoy immersive storytelling so that’s what I do.)
But actual, full-fledged, fleshed-out and named OC’s? Chi Drench from Anchors, my beloved, comes to mind. A blue Twi’Lek doctor from Lothal who helped the Rebels out during the Empire’s occupation on the planet and now is a surgeon and resident at Capitol City’s medcentre. I had so much fun building his personality and his quirks, like the fact he’s always wearing a colourfully printed cap and cartoon character pins on his scrubs—partly because he’s just very drawn to colours, partly because he now has the freedom after the Empire’s fall to be as expressive as he wishes, and partly because he helps out in the children’s ward and he likes to brighten their day.
And, of course, the crotchety old medical droid he works alongside who’s a bit of contrast to him, Sloan.
I’ve also made a host of OC’s for The Lighthouse Keeper, like Iris the Nautolan woman who lost a leg and half her head-tendrils in some attack during the Empire and now runs a boarding house, and Arrow the ancient navigation droid who now co-owns an Inn in Wild Space.

1, 20, 32 and 35 for fic writers asks! 😘
1 -  Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
I probably daydream TOO much - is that possible? 😂 I have way too many snippets of scenes and conversations rolling around my heat at a time. I do try to be good and jot them down when I can. But usually before actually writing there is some sort of running it through my head first.
20 - Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?
I think AUs. ( Though I don't think I've really written any actual canon fics - kind of canon adjacent? 😂). I'm always fascinated by fic writers who can take my favorite characters, drop them into AUs and still keep them still recognizable as the characters we love. I try hard to do that - I think I've kind of succeeded?
32 - Do you take fic requests?  Why or why not?
I'll take a request in the form of ask games on tumblr - I'll take prompts every now and then that way. But for full on fics, not really. I have so many of my own ideas roaming around in my head I wouldn't have time to write longer stories for anyone else.
35 -  What’s your favorite fic you’ve posted?
If you're asking about fully finished fics, I'm torn between Under The Cover of Darkness ( bc I love the whole AU) and All Aboard. But my current WIP is probably going to surpass that once its fully finished . :)
Thanks for the questiosn, @myheartalivewrites!

17, 50, and 57 for the fanfiction writing ask game, please, my love.
17. Do you have a writing routine?
Pray to God for inspiration. Get inspiration in the middle of teaching. Immediately transition to independent work so I can jot down my ideas in my notes app.
No, but actually, I don't have much of a routine other than writing as much as possible in the morning or when it's sunny. That's when my brain functions best.
50. How would you describe your writing style?
Cinematic? I tend to focus a lot on exactly what kind of facial expressions and body movements characters are making, and sometimes I get too wrapped up in trying to write so my readers visualize exactly what I picture in my head.
I also think it tends to be kind of "quippy"? I try to put some humor and wit into pretty much everything I write.
57. How conscious are you about including symbolism or foreshadowing in your fics?
Very! As an English major & English Teacher who's been forced to dig into countless stories for years (and then somehow entice others to do the same), ingraining foreshadowing and symbolism into everything I write has been huge. From names, to snippets of dialogues, to other random references, I'll stick different things in! I also am a huge planner when it comes to writing fics, and I'll plan out different hints to later reveals and symbols. It's part of the reason I take so long getting out a chapter 😅.
One of my favorite small bits of foreshadowing recently was in Chapter 2 of Tailspin where Caro lightly foreshadows the existence of Dalia:
“There was a little drama around missing shoes. Sorry I’m so late,” she apologized. Robin laughed, shaking her head knowingly at Caro as the coworkers across the table gave her looks that belied their suspicions.
Robin is the only other mother of the group (thus the knowingly) and pairing kids to their shoes is always dramatic.

Fanfiction Writing Ask Game
12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them?
I have a few fics that I’ve outlined in the sense of knowing roughly what I want to do or know the scenes I want and have them in Plottr. So far I haven’t finished anything and keep ending up with additional chapters along the way. For the most part I write stories under 10k words, so I’m much more likely to grab a notebook and pen and scribble down freeform notes.
16. Do you write by hand, on your phone, or on your laptop?
All of the above! I actually got into writing because I had a new fountain pen and was lamenting to the friend who’d gotten me into them that there was only so much journaling I could do. She slid me a prompt and I never looked back. Three and a half years later I’m amazed by how far I’ve come. By hand with a fountain pen is still my favorite was to write, but I added writing on the computer sometimes during NaNoWriMo 2021. Phone was much less common until very recently. I got into the habit of writing drabbles on my phone. I actually have a WIP that so far is exclusively phone, which is definitely a first.
42. What’s your favorite title that you’ve come up with?
That honor definitely goes to being a home for the holidays. The POV is Sutton Cottage, a sentient magical house from A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske, where the house observes its new owner’s partner give him a gift before the holidays begin. It’s a short, sweet story I wrote for the Yuletide exchange and I’m very proud of it.

[For the Fanfiction Writing Ask Game]
Anon, these are fantastic questions and I love you for choosing them
1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
Oh I'm definitely a daydreamer. Sometimes a certain scene pops into my head the second I read a prompt and I'll just jump right in, but most of the time I do a TON of plot musing between my writing sessions. I also have a habit of building Spotify playlists that remind me of characters or fics I'm working on. I have a 20-30 minutes drive to and from work, and most recently I've taken to listening to my Team Rancher or TNaWY playlists and pulling scene ideas from the lyrics. I also like to just - play things out in my head, picture the mannerisms, toy with alternate options, puzzle out dialogue and reactions. It's SO fun and it helps give me some direction when I finally get back to my laptop to write!
(A total of three MAJOR scenes/plot points upcoming in TNaWY were directly inspired by songs I listened to on the way to work. :3)
10. Do you work on multiple WIPs or stick to one fic at a time?
I used to just write one fic at a time and ONLY branch out to write something else when some stray inspiration is distracting me too much to focus on my main fic. More recently, I've found that bouncing between a few fics (only a few) helps keep me from getting burnout or bored. If one fic is giving my writer's block, I'll hop to the next one and come back when I've gotten something else written out elsewhere. Sometimes that's all I need to kick my writer brain back into gear so I can get past that accursed road bump. ^^
12. Do you outline your fics?  If yes, how detailed are your outlines?  How far do you stray from them?
Mmm, it depends. If it's a shorter fic, I never outline. I just - write. Part of this is because I like to let the characters guide the narrative, because sometimes I find that they react differently in the moment than what I was anticipating beforehand. (This might shock a few folks, but MOST chapters I write are basically first drafts with only a handful of grammatical edits and a few single-sentence rewrites.) However, I'm more likely to scribble out a ROUGH outline if either (A) I'm losing my momentum and I need to get past a block, because laying out what's left to write in a chapter in the dumbest terms possible helps make it feel like a much easier task...OR (B) if I've taken a longer chapter-length fic under my belt. I usually have a rough plan in my head already, but jotting down which moments are gonna go in which chapters is helpful for timeline purposes.
I rarely get specific in outlines, but giving myself dumbed-down and simple bullets to meet sometimes helps give me an anchor point as well as some easy goals to achieve as a write. It's less likely that I'll abandon a fic that way <3 (I might need to do this with Domino Effect bc I'm a bit stuck with that one atm akdsjbaw)

imagine coryo cumming in his pants randomly in class because he just had a thought of you bent over for him and now he has to hide the wet stain
ANON YOURE A GENIUS
18+ | nsfw | mdni cw fem!reader, not proofread
underneath his cool and pompous exterior, coriolanus was still, at his core, a horny teenage boy.
which is why he tries so hard to not think of you during class: your smile, your laugh, the smell of your perfume, how intelligent you were. he thought about you in the academy's long red pleated skirt and how it fell just below your knees. and protruding from your skirt came your legs clad in tights, and your pretty little shoes that made the muscles of your calves flex every time you walked.
coriolanus could already feel his mind slipping to more lewd thoughts, like the time he saw slightly bent over a desk, your hands grabbing onto the edges as you were deep in conversation with a friend. he thought about how you'd look if you were bent over at a complete 90-degree angle, and he stood behind you gripping your hips. he imagined that sexy smirk of yours as you'd crane your neck to look him in the eyes, and your ass would slowly begin to hump against his hardened cock pressed painfully against his slacks.
"coryo..." his name escaped your lips like steam rising from a boiling pot of water. his mind led down a dangerous route, as he became hyperfixated on how your ass would feel grinding against his crotch, the delicious melody of your moans, and the filth that would escape his lips as he watched you be so lewd for him. you would keep going, and going, humping, grinding—
coriolanus gripped his mouth as he felt his cock throb and spurt out warm ropes of cum in his bright red pants, his body slightly jerking forward from the unexpected release. he looked down, and to his horror, was a generously sized wet patch right on his crotch. immediately, he took his leather satchel and placed it on his lap, feeling his face burn a deep scarlet.
he flinched as you tapped him on the shoulder, whipping his head to look at you and your adorable look of concern. "are you okay?" you whispered, trying not to interrupt the ongoing lecture from the professor at the front of the room.
coriolanus swallowed hard, awkwardly shifting on his seat. "yes," he choked out, forcing a nonchalant smile. "i'm fine. thank you for asking,"
and he could have survived the rest of the lecture if it weren't for your beautiful smile and the softness of your touch on his arm. "i'm here if you need anything, okay?"
at that moment, coriolanus could have sworn you were doing this shit to him on purpose.

Let's go with 1, 3, 7, and 36 for the fanfic ask game.
1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
I daydream. I build it up in my mind, so that I have some ideas beforehand of what I’m going to say at such-and-such a point in the story, so that even though I haven’t written it yet, I know what I will write.
3. Do you share your fic ideas, or do you keep them to yourself?
(Copied from my last post)
It depends. Sometimes I spill if I’m talking to somebody about our writing; otherwise, I try and keep it as largely a surprise.
7. Post a snippet from a wip.
Selene had never actually been in the Money Bin before, but she’d heard of the vast amounts of wealth it held. She’d even heard that the vault itself, where Scrooge McDuck’s money actually was, used to be filled to the ceiling with money. Before, well, Della got stuck on the moon. Her moon. Selene was honestly still annoyed at her father for not letting her help.
36. What fic are you proudest of?
There are two that I usually flip between in that regard, but here, I’ll say Bridging the Gap. Again, Gandra is a very complex character, and she deserves more content delving into her relationships with people besides Fenton or her former F.O.W.L. co-workers. And I enjoyed what I did in that regard.

a/n: zayne my boo <3 im sobbing over the fact that the game killed off mc’s grandma and caleb 😭
.
ミ★ Love & Deep Space ミ★
pairing: zayne x fem!reader
warning(s): mentions of death, mentions of the explosion that killed mc’s grandma + childhood best friend (caleb) in game, spoilers(?)
Summary: Ever since that day, you’ve fallen in a deep, dark pit. Why did you have to be the one that they decide to destroy? Why did Caleb and Grandma have to die? Is it your fault they did? Zayne, as your primary care physician and a family friend, is concerned for your well-being.
“Sometimes, a small gesture is all it takes.”
Tumblr media
The sound of the news on your TV, the thundering rain outside, the sound of the cars driving by your apartment—it all blurs out as you stared at the TV screen, eyes dead and unfocused on the news of the Wanderers attacking and the explosions. Some 22 casualties, two deaths. Grandma and Caleb. His necklace that you bought him as a goodbye gift when he left for the Aerospace Academy sits beside a picture of you, him, and Grandma on the coffee table, the cheerful smiles making you wished that you could revisit time.
Your apartment, once somewhat organized and clean, is now messy with things being knocked down and dirty dishes long discarded. You stare at the one last thing your Grandma left for you, some..tablet(?) with a final letter on it. You haven’t gotten the energy or the ability to open it. It pains you, seeing that you haven’t visited for so long yet when you do, this was the time her house had to explode right in front of you, flames engulfing the house and the only thing that remained was Caleb’s necklace.
“I miss you, Grandma..” You mumbled to nobody, rubbing the tears threatening to spill out your eyes as you glanced down at the item she left you with. Besides that, a small box of her old recipes of those notecards, and other small things that she had entrusted to you years before.
Around you was your laptop, papers and files on the latest Wanderer attacks around you. Yes, Captain Jenna dismissed you and said that you should take some days off to regain your energy, since you haven’t been getting the sleep or the energy you needed, but you just couldn’t.
Your door opened, yet you didn’t bother to look at who entered. “Still sitting in front of the TV?” A familiar voice spoke out, flipping the light switch on and shutting the door behind him. It was Zayne, a long time family friend and your primary care physician. “You haven’t eaten,” he bluntly says as he sets a bag of food on your table and walked into the kitchen. He bites back a sigh, knowing that you were going through a tough time, and people tended to discard everything and grieve and grieve their hearts out.
“Hello to you too, Zayne,” you replied as you shut off the news and got up off your sofa. You pile up all the papers and files you’ve scattered around and set them on the coffee table before you walk into the kitchen as Zayne is cleaning up your dirty dishes. He checks in on you whenever he’s free or when he’s off his shift. He looks back at you, only making a small hum of acknowledgment before cleaning up your dirty kitchen. You looked terrible—eyes red and puffy from crying, obvious eye bags, and the sparkles from your eyes were gone.
You yawn as you take out a bowl and some utensils for whatever food he brought in for you. You unpacked the bag as he cleaned up the dishes you couldn’t bother doing last week. Potatoes, avocado on the side, tuna salad, salmon and rice you said to yourself as you took out the food that he had carefully backed in those plastic containers for you. Then you took out the last thing. Cookie..dough? He remembered your favorite childhood snack. The kind of cookie dough you liked.
“Your grandma gave me a recipe for the cookie dough. She said that if she couldn’t make it, I should since it lightens your mood,” Zayne says as he puts your clean dishes back into the cabinet. He dries his hand off before walking over to you, watching how you stare at it like a piece of gold. Disbelief and shock were etched on your face.
Zayne puts his hand on your back, soothingly rubbing circles as you opened the container and took a bite. Your eyes almost brimmed with tears again. You could remember how your grandma used to bake in the kitchen and you’d always sneak a bite or two of the cookie dough, no care in the world if you could get salmonella.
“Thank..you, Zayne,” you finally said, turning around tightly hugging him. He was a bit hesitant at first, but he put his hand on your head, massaging your scalp as he looked down at you with a gentle look on his face.
“..You’re welcome. I miss her too.”
Zayne’s eyes looked away at the picture on the counter of your grandma. She didn’t have to go out this way.

Ooh, 3 and/or 17?
3. What is the main program you use for writing (google docs, the ao3 writing text box, etc.)
I use the Pages app for the body of the writing and the Notes app to, of course, keep notes and profiles and outlines.
17. Favorite AU to write?
Canon divergence AU’s, hands down. Just tweak one moment in a story and watch events unfold… differently. I love them because I like to keep myself within certain limits. Like, the divergent moment has to make sense and the characters have to remain in character, the story just took a different turn at the intersection.
(But, I gotta admit, I really, really, really wanna try my hand at a Modern AU)

24, 28, and 38 fic writer ask game!!!!!
24. How do you choose whose POV to write in?
I don't think there is a rhyme or reason on how I choose whose POV to write in. I think it depends a lot on the fic itself - if it is more of one character's story, then I do tend to lean more toward the bulk of the story being from that person's POV. I do find I enjoy switching POV between characters a lot lately though too. Like in my current WIP - but I find the story is equally about both Kurt and Blaine so the reader gets some insight into what both of them are thinking.
28. What area of writing do you want to improve in?
I'd love to write better one shots - just practice in being concise. It's definitely a weakness of mine. I am way too wordy for my own good.😂
38.) What is your most self indulgent posted story?
Well its not completely posted yet, but the majority of it is, so I'll say definitely my latest WIP (If I Can Make Your Heart My Home) - I mean I've had as many Glee cameos I can manage, tossed in some NYC landmark history ( I'm such a nerd for that stuff), squished in a lot of recipes I've tried and tons of new ones have been dying to try and I am stealthily slipping in some music from one of my favorite songwriters 😂. But I must be doing ok because the readers seem to be enjoying it so far!
Thanks for the ask, @kurtsascot! 💖

76-79?
76. How do you deal with writing pressure, whether internal or external?
I go to sleep. I'm absolutely awful at dealing with writing pressure and can spiral over it, so I shut it all down by taking a nap. 3/10 would not recommend this method.
77. Why do you enjoy writing fanfiction?
I always think of fan fiction as a writer's playground. Like I get to play with any idea I have without having to make it make too much sense or build in the audience appeal or intrigue or plot like I would with other writing. If I want to have enemies to lovers, I pick a character I already like and build what I don't. It's just pure fun.
78. What motivates you during the writing process?
Validation. If I got a million comments and reblogs on everything, I'd be so prolific. This is what motivates me the strongest and most, but it's not sustainable given the culture of Tumblr at the moment. So, sometimes I am just motivated by wanting to get my story out there and give my characters life.
79. Do you have any writing advice you want to share?
Please read your dialogue through and think to yourself: do people actually talk this way? Nothing turns me off a fic faster than excessive use of pet names, grand emotional speeches, or just weird dialogue.

5, 17, and 43 for the fic ask game!
[For the Fanfiction Writing Ask Game]
Three questions??? You spoil me! <3 I think I'll need a Read More for this one my friend xD
Hahaha! Ha! Ha.
Many. So, so many.
I have a bad habit of starting projects and not finishing them, so I have a plethora scattered throughout my Google Docs files that are anywhere from multiple pages of unposted fic, all the way down to single-sentence unused prompts. Sometimes I left them behind because I lost motivation, sometimes my hyperfixation shifted and I (sadly) couldn't focus on that fandom anymore.
But let's see...uh....I glanced through my older stuff first just to see. But for now I think I'm just gonna count what I'm either actively working on, or what I wish to continue when my motivation returns...because if you counted all the abandoned WIP's I've gathered over the years, I think the number would be close to 30, and I don't want to list them all up here. (Maybe I'll drop it at the bottom of this post if you're curious***)
For one, I have two IronDad fics I plan on finishing: one that's a shorter Mafia AU that's 2/3 complete, and a much longer (and heftier) multi-chapter fic that has been awaiting a new chapter for over a year I think. A Little Late On The Blood Work my beloved...I'll come back when I get inspiration again 🥺💞 I also have an old Jacksepticeye Egos fic called #SamLives that I've been wanting to continue for ages but haven't, along with a Night at the Museum fic (Jedtavius) that I at least need to finish the current arc for because the comment section is sad.
And MOST recently I've got a bunch for Hermitcraft/Empires/Traffic Life that I'm in the process of actively writing...which I believe add up to a total of six?? I think? THREE are partially posted/being updated (Through a Crack in the Void, Domino Effect, There's Not a Word Yet), and the OTHER three (two Team Rancher, one that's literally Every Ship Under The Sun With Some Found Family On Top) aren't gonna be on my plate until I finish some of the other ones.
17. Do you have a writing routine?
Not really! Usually once I get an idea, I just - jump in. If I get stuck and want to skip something just to keep the writing ball rolling, I'll throw one of these in the middle of the page: ASDJNAKFBEKAJBA ...and just leave it for later. It's bold, red, and easy to spot when I'm scrolling through a long document, which is nice! It helps make sure no blank spots get missed in editing! (I also red-dye words, sentences, or paragraphs I'm feeling shaky on, so I can spot them easily and come back later when I get a better idea to fix it.) And if I decide to completely change a section I'm writing, I'll often copy the original version, paste it at the bottom of the doc in case I decide to change it back, and turn it a pastel color so I don't confuse old versions for the current text.
I also sometimes make calendars on Excel/Sheets if I really wanna keep track of time, and I often have a separate (and somewhat disorganized) doc for Notes on my longer fics. There's also a document where I write down potential lyrics options for There's Not a Word Yet chapter titles, but that's the only time I've done that for a fic.
43. Is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?
I feel like someone asked me this a while back, so I've definitely thought about this! But honestly? A mystery or a time-travel fix-it...which I am well aware are two VASTLY different tropes lmao.
I've always been envious and in awe of well-written mystery/detective stories, because so many little details go into them to make them work. I'd love to build one of my own someday, but I have yet to find the right motivation to do so.
As far as time-travel fix-its go...they're just...they're so fun to read, because I love to see how one little change can affect an entire timeline (see also: Domino Effect) but they're also a LOT of work to write because it involved basically retelling a story that's already been written but in your own words and with a twist. Somehow writing something fully original comes easier to me than trying to build my writing around something else that already exists. But god I'd love to have the motivation to write one of 'em anyway! It'd be fun to decide how everything changes all because of one little difference in choice :3
5. How many WIPs do you have?  What fandoms/pairings are they for?
Hahaha! Ha! Ha.
Many. So, so many.
I have a bad habit of starting projects and not finishing them, so I have a plethora scattered throughout my Google Docs files that are anywhere from multiple pages of unposted fic, all the way down to single-sentence unused prompts. Sometimes I left them behind because I lost motivation, though most times my hyperfixation shifted and I (sadly) couldn't focus on that fandom anymore.
But let's see...uh....I glanced through my older stuff first just to check for this hah. But for now I think I'm just gonna count what I'm either actively working on, or what I wish to continue when my motivation returns...because if you counted all the abandoned WIP's I've gathered over the years, I think the number would be close to 30, and I don't want to list them all up here. (One of them is a cute 5+1 one-shot about Tango calling Jimmy "buddy" and Jimmy learning that "buddy" has a lot of different meanings depending on how Tango says it and who he's saying it to. The second one is an extension of a one-shot I already posted called Coming, Coming Home, where S8 HASA!Tango crash-lands in the mesa outside Tumble Town, and like - yeah. Yeah. I'd love to continue that one. And the LAST one is a Double-Life-based Witches/Familiars AU that started as Renchanting Duo and has since extended to every member of the Life series and even some Hermits.)
***ALL THE OLDER FICS I HAVE YET TO COMPLETE: I've got one for Doctor Who, a handful for JSE Egos - #SamLives - one for Night at the Museum, one for Encanto. Six for Marvel/IronDad (including a Mafia fic, a SPN AU, a Peter-gets-shot and Tony-goes-dad-mode hurt/comfort, and A Little Late On the Blood Work which as I said I'm just longing to get inspiration to return to). A witch/familiar Supernatural AU fic and an SPN time travel fix-it that I barely started. There's a TangoTek one-shot I've abandoned featuring his rage moments from both LL and DL. I also have an old fic from high school for a game called Ib that I'd love to revamp someday...and my Original FanFic that started it all, which was for Harry Potter, and I was like 12, and it will never EVER see the light of day. My god. It's...it's rough.
