Everything is ridiculous now I got added to a Very Serious Operations Communications Hub except its a regular grouptext with my boss' boss whose number I am genuinely scared to add to my contacts because what if I somehow text him accidentally? I should not have this man's number. But I have been informed I'm on The Team and I feel so goofy sending a terse "acknowledged" and not "Wow! Soooooooooo excited to be on the team!! :) :) Can't wait! On standby until I get the go!!!" which disgusts even me. Have some dignity, self.

Honestly this goes to show you how long it’s been since I indulged in fanfic as a consumer 😭 I did NOT KNOW ao3 had it like that! Does it keep formatting and all that? I know sometimes converting messes it up a bit but I guess it doesn’t matter as long as it’s readable!

And omg yes like, I imagine to this day what having that option would be like back when I was reading now-extinct versions of fics Iived for. 😔 I would have had a treasure trove of immortalized stories from fic writers by now!!

Why am I so bad at leaving comedy light hearted?

I'm writing this increasingly complicated jimmy/everyone college chatfic larper au, it's supposed to be funny, it IS funny, I've gotten laugh out loud reactions to many bits. Yesterday I left myself a comment saying "wasn't this supposed to be a comedy" on the note "this is the darkest fucking moment of fwhip's life." NOTE: fwhip's life is pretty fucking easy, except for his homosexual incompetence, but at this points he's fucked things up with friends and sometimes with his sister and feels very alone.

another note: holy fuck it's very easy for me to write scott as the most icy bitch queen. I'm just drawing from what i see in actual scott, but, holy shit, these are your friends not your enemies, I know you're super bitter about not having Jimmy but mercy jesus.

Basic premise: everyone's a college larper. starts with just empires people. people keep having ~drunken hookups with jimmy after doing love plots with him in (one shot) larps, but they decide jimmy only wants it then and they should never talk about it. They have a Jimmy Thirst chat and continue being idiots until gem and pearl invite their boffer (live combat) larper friends to come play their one shots, and they all play this game called "Double Life". No one tells Tango the 'rule' about Jimmy and things get really chaotic from there, and yes Joel and Etho keep hooking up and it's a (sexy) mess.

I am trying to keep it all to grouptext/DMs/etc, but I've started a spinoff companion piece extra chapter whatever of the first time etho and joel hook up... at 5:30am in a dark classroom waiting to do a larp mechanic. There wasn't even any sexual tension, but as an undergrad i did in fact sit in a obscure stairwell at 6am with other people so we could put stickers on a sign at both 5:59 and 6:01. (I got free ihop out of it, i was crucial to the mechanic.)

It's gonna be awhile before I get this out, but I'm obsessed with it and think about it all the time. questions welcome if this has piqued your curiosity.
