LO RANT:

You know what I just realized? The rant I did for Persephone about her trauma can actually be said for Hades. I know what you’re thinking, “what are you talking about a big chunk of that section was speaking on how Hades’ trauma is treated better than Persephone’s!” which I’m not denying since I did state that, but I only really meant the Kronos stuff that Hades has been suffering through every other season. I’m talking about the relationship with Minthe and Hades.

Listen as much as I relate to and adore Minthe’s character I won’t ever lie or disregard that she was a shitty partner. They both were of course but no one has the right to put their hands on another person and shout all types of insults at them, no matter how much I hate Hades I’m not going to defend stuff like that. But with the presence of his very toxic relationship I think we were genuinely robbed of the effects that it had on him in the long run. We never got to see his thoughts completely and we didn’t get to see how it affected his everyday life, each time there was a toxic panel of Minthe and Hades we got transitioned to the next happy uwu romance scene like nothing ever happened. I’ve never been in a toxic relationship before but I have been through many platonic relationships that were utterly terrible, I know it’s not the same thing nor is it comparable but it’s the only thing I can really speak on that sorta correlates in some way. But toxic relationships, especially those that last a very long time, do indeed affect you and your behaviors you start limiting your emotions and stop doing things that the person you were in that relationship with dislikes. You change yourself entirely since you want to make something out of the scraps that they chose to give you and you’re forced to conform to their ways because you’re under this guise that they care about you and you deceive yourself by giving yourself the comforting thought that “they’d never do this to me” or “we’re friends/lovers so they didn’t mean it” or even “I deserve this treatment.”

These emotions and thoughts could’ve been easily explored during the Minthe arc since especially being a man and being a victim of mistreatment is rare in the media with romantic relationships. This could’ve been a great exploration of mental health issues with men and how getting their feelings and traumas validated should be respected and welcomed within our society, the things that Hades faced would’ve probably reflected that of other experiences that other people faced within similar relationships and it would’ve been a good door for representation for male abuse survivors. But sadly, all of that got overshadowed by the building and foreshadowing of Kronos and Persephone coming into Hades’ life to be the better woman and “heal” him instantly.

Did we see pieces of how Hades was effected by Minthe and the trauma it left him with? Yes, but the thing is we only saw it while we were gathering evidence for Minthe to be season 1’s villain and it felt like it was there for drama only. After Minthe slapped Hades and bruised him no one else should’ve put their hands on one another, I hated how this very serious moment got played for jokes and giggles throughout the comic when it’s obvious that the narrative was trying to argue against stuff like that. I don’t understand why Hades had to immediately be lovey dovey with Persephone as well, something like that happens to you I’m sure the very last thing you’d be worried about is a girl you met a few days ago that you started having feelings for. Maybe instead of that Hecate and Hades had a moment so that he could be properly comforted and talked to in a gentle manner (no I’m not saying use a baby voice or anything but just be a friend??) which would’ve been very powerful and empowering since a lot of men’s traumas do not get validated by others because of the “be a man” stigma. Showing people that men deserve to be sheltered and cared for like a normal human being, especially after something traumatic happened to them, would’ve been adding onto the theme of mens mental health.

Instead of that though we have Hades going over to Hera’s house and seeing Persephone after she lured him outside. Now listen, I understand that maybe he was trying to distract himself from the situation or even trying to forget about it in some way but throughout that whole time Hades never even mentioned or thought about Minthe. He got assaulted physically and a girl he barely knows keeps on touching him and getting close and personal without his content. It would be pretty stressful to deal with and it could’ve went to showcase how much damage this stuff does to people. Abuse is not just something you can forget about entirely to the point it doesn’t exist, you can try but like all trauma it’ll always be there and that’s what Lore Olympus gets wrong every time. They make something traumatic happen with the two characters and only ever validate it to either use it as drama, a plot, or to have a cute moment. And that’s entirely fucked up.

I don’t like how Lore Olympus used Hades being mistreated in his relationship as some one up. “I’m so much better than you because I don’t put my hands on people!” amazing I’m so glad that Persephone is a decent human being but why is that even in the whole “better woman” thing. It’s just weird how they’re using that as some crutch instead of giving the situation the respect it deserves. No one should be putting their hands on anyone and that shouldn’t be something that makes you better that should just be common decency. Same could be said with the whole Hades vs Apollo thing, it’s just depressing honestly that that’s being used as some sort of badge even though the comic should be trying to normalize it. These are normal things, no one should be doing any of that stuff to other people it’s sick and utterly deranged. Stop rewarding the bare minimum.

Anyways, that’s all I really have to say. It’s disappointing that it was used as a way to make a cute uwu moment and I hate how they glamorized it almost immediately after moving on completely. But I’m not surprised since it happens all the time.

Chapter Thirteen

Days passed and nothing happen. I was scared and restless and the handcuffs and bathroom were a nightmare. When would this end so the torture could start? I was resting on my cot, asleep when a guard woke me up. "I'm gonna let you out now. You ready??" He grunted.

It was strange too. No one around here had normal eyes, the were pitch black depths of evil. Nothing behind the eyes but coldness. It made me miss my home, but I knew I would never return there.

We were traveling to the underworld and in three days we would be there so the three guardsmen would drop me off in the hands of Hades himself, I heard from ease dropping before they put me in the covered wagon, still in handcuffs, in a little cage. I struggled to get comfortable and we didn't even plan on leaving anytime soon, so I wasn't too comfortable. Hours later when I was so exhausted I couldn't see straight, the first guardsman sat in the front. But I had my back to him, and wasn't interested in turning to see what exactly he was doing that was taking so long.

I rode in silence.

Nothing really interested me, since I got my sentence. Sentenced to the underworld. I didn't have much to say. Honestly I kept telling myself it would be over soon, but when would it be over? After a fucking eternity? But anyways I wasn't being strong for myself,. But I was being strong more so because it was the only thing I knew.

I wasn't scared of what was going to happen to me, I was scared of how it was going to end, my life fell apart after that night I became a demon, and I didn't have time to think that was over… Was in string enough to take these guards and escape?

The thought tempted me. I didn't know I could die until about a week ago, but the reassuring thoughts that I could use my strength tempted me.

Two days had passed. I didn't know if we where almost there not but I will starting to you hungry the tempting thought to breaking free tempting me the whole time and I did know if I should even try or bother or just accept my fate and just take my place in Underwood.

All of a sudden a loud rattling noise took over.l the covered wagon and we pulled over. I heard the guards mumbling to each other unsure if they should stop the wagon or not but we ended up pulling over.

Only one guard got out to see what it was.

After a moment of rattling there was a loud this noise and a scream. The guards looked at each other and one quickly climbed out to see what happen.

After a moment of silence there was nothing. No noise, no guard, no warning no anything.

So the guard begins the take off driving the wagon as fast as he could. What was going on? Could it be robbers this far out? No way. I'm not that lucky.

And then a loud thud noise came from above us as someone landed on top of the covered wagon speeding up. I look up at the shadowy figure walk towards the front of the wagon yanking the guard out in one quick motion before he could even scream he was gone.

The the wagon crawled to a stop.

Then the shadowy figures abruptly jumps down coming to the back of the wagon straight to me. Revealing it was the reaper, who saved me.

Minthe’s unknown lineage and possible backstory in Lore Olympus

The color of her complexion “red” has a positive and negative meaning behind it, THYNOVEL stated her old thoughts on the color red and how it influences certain characters in the Lore Olympus story just like any other kind of color you can think of. Next is how her eyes genuinely looks like, close up, to anyone that is figuring out the right color palette. Lastly, her known abilities tied to the river that she was conceived from. When it comes to unpleasant emotions, Minthe’s hair as well as her skin becomes liquid-like as the river she originated from. THYNOVEL remarks, “While in distress, her anxiety shows through her hair, which spreads and taints just as Cocytus does.”

🤑fandom_freak.geek😜’s version seems to be quiet fascinating to me. For instance, she looks as an untamed beauty that wasn’t ruined by Deity Society as well as her own volition, not yet at least.

Minthe’s behaviour appeared to be similar to a cat, recluse and moody. The first picture describes the Naiad being annoyed, for someone is staring at her while she’s eating. The next picture of her being frightened by an intruder, she decided to hide from that person. The final picture describes the playfulness she displays to her companion.

The flower used on Minthe’s head is a red hibiscus flower with a yellow anther. The name is derived from the Greek word “hibiskos”, meaning “mallow”, while the red color for this particular flower represents passion and deep romantic love. The meaning behind this particular flower is femininity, beauty, and glory.

Her Family is unknown to the webtoon readers, so lets state the obvious facts in Greek Myth. She is the daughter of Cocytus, one of the five Underworld River-Deities.

In the Greek Mythology Wiki on Minthe, It states that Cocytus procreated with someone in order for this nymph’s existence. During Episode 52, she clearly finds Persephone’s container cute. She even comment that her (supposedly) mother would have. Imply in that comment that Minthe had a mother at one point, then she was gone (died or left), causing the Naiad to lack a genuine mother-figure.

[THEOI’s Encyclopedia “C”] [Nymphes of the Underworld] [Underworld River Nymphs - Cocythiae] : Next, is the possibility that the other two nymphs that Minthe is hanging out with may have been her fellow Cocythiae or old friends back home.

Then there’s Minthe’s possible cousin, Ascalaphus. An Underworld Daemon, son of Acherôn & Gorgyra, and the orchardist to Hades. They might have been distant towards each other as cousins, but maybe been close-like siblings.

Last but not least Styx, the goddess of oaths and the River Styx. Her first debut was in a banner poster at Underworld Corp in episode 33 and full appearance at Acherôn in episode 57. Hades settled, “She’s the underworld’s most powerful river. She carries all the boats further into the underworld for judgment.” Not only is she bind oaths between deities, but escorts the shades ferried by Charon for their grand trial with the King of the Underworld. Styx’s four children reside in Olympus as Zeus’ enforces after the Titan War, they’re possibly childhood friends to Minthe and Ascalaphus.

Here’s —thynovel’s take on the Titans, especially the Oath-bounder. Styx’s hair tends to be incredibly long to turn liquid down and her skin tends to constantly glisten with water. Carmen said, “Her hair is incredibly long and appears to melt into the River Styx.” This Titan’s seem to overpower the other River-Deities and may possibly be their leader.

Then there’s Minthe, her Naiad-form appears oozing and flowy connected to genuine negativity. —Thynovel explained, “Minthe’s appearance becomes runny and gooey when stressed. She’s going back to her most comfortable and primordial form.”

One of the many literature tools any compelling character, either a protagonist or antagonist, is their personal background. Especially if someone is meant for a tragic fate, it’s to understand what lead to “that very moment”. Whatever kind of backstory this Underworld Naiad has allows the readers the choice to sympathize or criticize towards her.

In Episode 104, Thetis gaslighted Minthe in order to assert dominance as the leader of Snarky Chat. The reason this Nereid did this to a fellow member is because put the Naiad in her place. Stated if Thetis hadn’t found her, Minthe would stay a nobody and prejudiced her social class. The only comeback Minthe said to her “supposed” best friend is:

This may be a piece of her past that she would like to bury, as mortals would entomb their dead. Minthe may have prefer being a miserable nobody than being manipulated any further by Thetis.

Although other LO fans like their spin on Minthe’s backstory, so let’s see it for ourselves.

♏whore♍olympus♎’s verion: Cocytus created Minthe from his river or procreated with another nymph. He’s a river-god of lamentation that wants his daughter to take over the river, but she refuse, resulting to an argument.

I know a lot of you are probably wondering by now why I've spent so long chasing after Minthe. Today, I have an answer for you.

I met Minthe on my weekly rounds one evening when I was passing by the Cocytus river. I'd never paid much attention to any of the nymphs before until that day. She was alone; her body racked with sobs. She reminded me of myself really. She'd barely noticed who was watching her, and instead of looking first, she snapped and threatened me with a dead fish. In the moment, I couldn't help but laugh. A small river nymph threatening the king of the Underworld with a fish. She was a flustered mess until I spoke. Minthe was rather petite even then, her beauty and pain was what drew me to her that day. Though, she held quite the attitude when I asked why she was crying. Somehow, I convinced her to walk with me. It didn't last long though. When I tried to reach out to her, she pulled away with that same sassy attitude. You wonder why I stayed with her for a thousand years. At that time, she'd already had someone, someone who didn't treat her well. Every day I would check up on her, and every day there would be new bruises or burned cigarette marks in her skin. It pained me to see her so afraid, so alone and distraught. It might not have been my best moment, but I sent him to live in the deepest pits of Tartarus for a couple hundred years. Because even in those moments, she was still the most beautiful creature I had ever laid my eyes on. You would've done the same for someone you loved.

sundayxl’s version: Minthe was new to the rural-part of the Underworld, the need money seemed to cross the Naiad’s mind. It lead her to make a dangerous deal with “someone” in order to secure her place in the Underworld Corp, so she could be paid highly as an intern. She has to transfer him all the money, however, this Naiad ran out. But surprise! surprise! Thanatos comes knocking on her car door. He demands to have his money this instance, making her agitated towards him.

“What?” Hades frowned as you took his hand pushing through the crowd, “Y/N…”

“He needs help…” You pushed through to the balcony stepping out to see Apollo frozen in place, “Oh my god…Hades…”

Hades frowned seeing his nephew pale and rigid, “Apollo…can you hear me?”

“Y..es…” He gritted his teeth looking to you both.

“Good…Y/N, get Zeus and Demeter…” Hades glanced back at you, “Please.”

“Okay…” He watched you turn away running back inside before looking back to Apollo.

Hades sighed looking his nephew over, “I’m not a medicine man…are you breathing okay?”

“…n..no.” Apollo managed to get out, “Me…di…”

“Media…yes I gathered from what just happened inside that she’s behind it.” Hades frowned looking close to Apollo’s face seeing a small glowing mark on his cheek, “Did she touch you?”

“Hades, what’s going on?” Zeus approached with his sister Demeter as Hades raised his hand pointing to the mark, “What is it?”

“Magic…I thought poison at first…” He looked at Demeter before turning back to the crowd, “I was wrong. Hecate!”

Murmurs began rippling through the crowd as everyone watched. Hades turned to you quickly, “Did Media touch you?”

“What?” You looked up to him confused.

“Did she touch you?” Panic rose inside of him as Hecate came running forward.

“Yes…Hades…” You frowned wrapping your arms around yourself, “what’s going on?”

He took your arm firmly before pulling you away from the crowd, “Where?”

He insisted before you could ask any more questions, “S-she put her chin on shoulder and wrapped her arms around me…Hades…you’re scaring me.”

“I’m sorry but I need to look…” He glanced behind himself making sure they were out of view, “I can get Persephone…”

“No…I-it’s okay…” You nodded turning away from him before pulling up the dress over your head.

“I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important…” He said quietly glancing back to make sure your decency could be maintained.

You held the dress in front of you looking back at him, “I know.”

He stepped closer before he put his hands on your arms gently moving them over your skin looking for anything wrong or out of place. His fingers burned as they danced gently over each inch of you making sure Media had done nothing, “I need you to turn around…”

Your face was so red when you turned to face him. It was beautiful and it took everything to not kiss you again and take you home as he began his inspection again. You shivered as his fingers traced over your hips and stomach. He stood up slowly looking down into your eyes.

“Am…am I good?” You stared up into his eyes. Hades was glad Zeus was no where nearby to hear you say those words, knowing full well there would be some sarcastic sassy remark about your nakedness. Despite that he found himself thinking you were so much more then good…you were perfect to him.

“Yes…you’re good.” He whispered keeping his hands on your arms for a moment longer before taking a step back, “Get dressed…”

“What’s wrong with Apollo?” You asked as he turned away to give you a little privacy.

“I think he was hexed.” He told you quietly as he thought about the mark, “A paralysis rune…old magic, but I can’t be sure. Hecate will know.”

He looked to you when you touched his arm. He smiled briefly before taking your hand kissing it gently. If only they could go back to that moment a short while ago in the middle of the crowd. He could still feel your lips on his and he was hungry for more. His heart yearned to hear you say those words again.

You both stepped back over to the group seeing Apollo laying on the ground hand to his head as Hecate leaned over him with her hands hovering over his chest, “You’re very lucky…a little while longer and you wouldn’t be with us.”

“But he will be alright…” Zeus leaned over the dark-haired woman as any overbearing parent would, “I don’t want to bring Artemis over now if he’s not.”

Hecate smiled as she touched Apollo’s head, “With a little rest he’ll be fine.”

“What about Y/N?” Apollo let his hand drop looking up to you, “Are you alright?”

You smiled and nodded as Hades spoke, “She appears to be, but I’d like Hecate to take a look still.”

“Of course, I wish we had met under better circumstances.” Hecate told you as she stood up walking towards you. You gasped looking into her eyes when she stopped, it was like looking into a sea of stars. She laughed, “It can be a little startling, I got my mother’s eyes. Just stay still for a moment.”

She hovered her hands over you doing a small circle. You glanced around seeing everyone holding their breath until she spoke again, “She’s fine.”

Apollo sighed, “Thank goodness.”

“Yes, the spell would have surely killed a mortal quickly.” Hecate told everyone, “Do we know who cast such a spell?”

Zeus sighed crossing his arms over his chest, “Media…”

“Zeus, something must be done…” Hades reached down taking your hand, “It’s clear she is targeting us.”

“She will be dealt with, but we can’t say…” Zeus started to speak.

“Hecate…” Everyone looked to you as you interrupted Zeus, “is there a spell that can make someone enraged and attack you? Something that is completely against who they are?”

Hades stared at you as Hecate tilted her head, “There can be a spell for really anything, but yes, why do you ask?”

You looked up to Hades thinking back to Scott and the whole incident at the school, “It makes sense…Scott never acted that way before. He was a good guy and I know it doesn’t excuse anything, but even you said he didn’t remember anything…isn’t that like a spell requirement when controlling someone? Especially mortals?”

“To what instance are you referring?” Hecate got your attention again.

“Now is not the time.” Zeus interrupted as he helped Apollo up to his feet, “We will have a council tomorrow, I’ll send word and we can discuss everything then. Allow everyone to enjoy themselves tonight and worry later.”

Hades sighed watching everyone turn away and waited until they were gone, “Are you alright?”

“Well…I think so.” You smiled at him taking a step closer looking down at his hand intertwined with yours, “I think better then alright.”

Hades smiled at you, “What changed from an hour ago?”

“I don’t know…nothing really, I just…” You looked down trying to think of a reason, “I don’t think anything did. Apollo just helped me decide that it was time to let go and realize that everything I have in front of me is more important then what was not. That it’s too easy to try and hold on to things you shouldn’t.”

“Another reason for me to thank him later.” He slid his arm around your waist, “Let’s go home.”

“Are we allowed?” You quirked an eyebrow.

Pulling you close he spoke in a deep hushed voice, “I’m not giving them or you a choice.”

Your eyes shut as his lips found yours. Lost sensations made their way back to him as he stepped backward fading away into their home. Nerves rushed into both your bellies as his hands moved up your arms.

He parted from you speaking softly as you caught your breath, “Y/N…I made a promise to you…and I will hold to it…but I need you to say something for me to stop…”

Your eyes widened looking at is strong handsome features, “…Hades…”

His heart sunk a little, but he understood. It was a big step. He wanted it to be right and for you to enjoy it as much as he did.

But then you took his hand in yours and slowly stepped away from him tugging him to come with you. He tilted his head a little when he saw you kick off your shoes, “Y/N?”

You pulled him close again still taking small steps down the hallway away from the foyer. You leaned up dancing on your toes as you whispered just below his ear on his neck, “I love you, Hades…and you wouldn’t be doing anything I didn’t want.”

He stopped looking down at you as your face flushed. Tingling sensation began flooding over his skin as he became excited once more. Wasting no more time he claimed your mouth again grasping your face in his hands.

It took several tries for them to make it to the bedroom. Hades eventually had the good sense to scoop you up into his arms, the rest was a tangled mess.

A glorious tangled mess, he thought as he watched you sleeping next to him. His eyes raked over your frame remembering details from the night before. The way your body arched against his when things were going just right. Or how your fingers dug into the sheets…and how you bit your lips together when you moaned…

He cleared his throat before drawing the covers up over you more before getting up out of bed. Slipping into some comfortable clothes and a robe he made his way to the kitchen for some coffee. He stopped as he passed the living room seeing Cerberus stand up on the couch looking at him

“What?” Hades smiled a little stepping over scratching under his chin, “I thought you would be happy…”

Cerberus huffed before sauntering off the couch heading down the hall. Hades made a face watching him for a moment before moving on. Upon entering the kitchen, he saw a note on the counter clearly from Zeus from the calligraphy. Hades sighed opening it as he moved to the coffee pot.

Keep your fruit bowl this time. Hope this doesn’t ruin your good mood too much, but your presence is required this afternoon. Family meeting. Bring your wife.

He stared at it a long time before setting it down. Shouldn’t be too big of a problem. It was high time he told you everything that was going on. You deserved to know that Cronus was attempting to escape Tartarus and that he will be hellbent on going after his family.

He sighed again feeling the sense of security slip away for a moment. He shook it off pouring two cups and walked back to his room where he saw Cerberus curled up at the end of the bed, “Ah…I see now…”

He set the cups down before crawling back into bed. As he got comfortable, he saw you turn toward him eyes peeking open, “You left…”

He smiled a little sinking down into the bed to face you, “I did, but I returned with coffee.”

“Coffee? I thought we were staying in bed…” You moved closer to him taking him off guard when you wrapped your arms around him.

“I’m afraid not…” He rested his chin on your head, “As much as I would love it…and how much we deserve it…we’ve been summoned to a family meeting.”

That caught your interest, “Is everything okay?”

He brushed your hair from your face staring into your eyes before he shook his head, “No…no I’m afraid not.”

Media gasped for air as she clawed at the hand holding her by the throat, “P..Please…”

“Why should I give you another chance when you can’t follow simple instructions.” A deep voice shook her to the core, “How hard is it to kill one mortal!? You’ve failed twice…”

“H..hades…” She hissed out trying to get air.

The man let her fall to floor coughing, “What about him?”

She stared up at the man in the dark abandoned room, “He protects her…he never lets her be alone…and their bond…”

The man knelt lifting her chin roughly in his grasp, “All I’m hearing is excuses. Media, you were supposed to be bright…and helpful in this new world and so far…you’re not.”

“No…No, please, my lord…” She pleaded eyes getting wide, “Please I can do better. The spell worked, but only the one time…I wasted it on Apollo…I succeeded…”

“Hm…I don’t think so, but I can’t just get rid of you…your following is too strong, as fickle as it is…” He let go standing up stepping away from her, “No…we’ll have to put you someplace safe. Afterall, you went after one of Zeus’ children…I’m sure it won’t stand. They’ll be looking for you.”

“W…where?” She barely whispered out, “Lord…Cronus…Where are you going to send me?”

Cronus turned around smirking making his handsome features seem evil, “Don’t you worry…I’ve got the perfect place for you.”

✧ MAGIC MONDAY: D E M O N M A N I P U L A T I O N ✧

Type of Magic: Manipulation, Conjuration, Transformation/Personification

Range: Unlimited for manipulative and conjuring purposes, but transformation/personification only works on those whose souls the user (Demonica) has previously collected (or herself)

Strength (on a tiered scale/scale from C to S): Top tier/S

Class: Dark

[Magical] Weakness(es): None that are known, but possibly Ira Drell’s heavenly-based abilities

Known User(s): Demonica

Demon Manipulation is a demonic *badum tsss* but very powerful form of magic that involves the excessive use of demons. They can quite literally be called up from the Underworld or summoned to the user’s person for any offensive or defensive enhancements, and the user can also transform part of themselves or their entire body into that of a demon. Coupled with soul manipulation, one with the ability to control demons makes for a fearsome adversary.

Demonica is the only known mage to ever wield this type of magic, and lucky for her, she was born with it. She’s had very many years to hone this ability to its finest form, and you better believe she’s done just that. While she cannot create new demons and can only manipulate those already dwelling within the Underworld, because so many demons thrive there, her abilities are essentially limitless. The basics of her powers range from commanding demons, conjuring them to her person, and even altering her own physiology and abilities to imitate demons. She is the Queen of the Underworld and has full mastery over everything there.

Note: In my series, demons are essentially spirits of spite/contempt/pure evil that belonged to those who passed and were full of regret, etc. They are also/can also be interpreted as humans with far greater durability, speed, strength, but a monstrous/ethereal/hellish appearance.

ATTRIBUTES:

Enhanced Strength: As a half-demon, Demonica’s strength, as well as anyone else she’s made a demon, is increased drastically and surpasses that of the average human.

Enhanced Speed: Demonica’s speed is doubled (in comparison to her human self), enabling swift attacks and effortless dodging

Enhanced Durability: Demonica is able to endure hefty attacks due to her thick demon’s skin

Heal: Half-demons/demons have a healing factor that goes into affect within a minute of sustaining the injury

Transformation: The user can alter their body or that of another to reflect a demon’s physiology

Flame Immunity: Demons thrive in the Underworld/Hell, so all half-demons/demons are immune to fire

Personification: Only works with Soul Manipulation. The demon the soul has inhabited shifts its hellish appearance into that of the soul’s original human form, though the human does have the internal physiology of a demon now

ABILITIES:

Ascent (Anávasi): Demonica calls up demons from the Underworld, and they crawl from the crevices in the ground or she’ll create a trench that they rise from

Hades’ Sword (To spathí tou Ádi): Demonica summons a demon(s) to her person that can be used to attack with as opposed to her fighting herself. Its specific abilities/battle perks vary depending on the type of demon she summons, and often the part of the demon used is its fangs, talons, and/or claws. Sometimes attacks are enhanced via hellfire

Hades’ Shield (Aspída tou Ádi): Demonica summons a demon(s) to her person to defend with as opposed to defending herself and/or dodging. The part of the demon used to defend is its tough skin; she’ll simply summon it to cover whichever part of her body is about to be attacked

“The Seven Deadly Sins” Gluttony (Laimargía): Demonica’s most powerful demon that feeds off its opponent. The longer you fight against it, the more power/energy it drains from you until you’re so weak you can no longer stand (and then you’ll end up getting killed)

Possession (Katochí): Demonica may summon a demon to possess another and completely or partially take control over them. This is crucial for starting civil war amongst her enemies, collecting intel from the body her demon is possessing or by using the body she’s possessing to spy, etc

LIMITATIONS:

Even though demons have a healing factor, if severed/injured body part is repeatedly attacked or if entire body is destroyed before healing process can begin, then healing is ineffective (bc the demon will already be dead)

The length of the healing process varies depending on the wound i.e. severed body parts will take far longer to heal than simple cuts/bruises/etc

It is possible for anyone Demonica is trying to possess with a demon to overcome the possession, though getting rid of the demon within them altogether is another matter entirely

Due to all the enhancements, part-demons have little stamina. Vigorous training is necessary to increase it

Demons with a human’s soul appear as a human that is part demon, but if that person decides to use “Transformation” to exhibit the appearance of their demon self, they can’t revert the affected body part(s) back to their human appearance

Brighid: Tell us about your relationship with your father.- it has had its fair share of ups and downs. my father raised me as a single dad and he was great at it. i had birthday parties, i had the books, shoes, toys i wanted - even if it meant waiting a little more than everyone else bc my dad worked hard and only made so much for us both. my dad having to do all that came totally left field for him i imagine and he fucking rose to the occasion. somewhere down the line he did begin to resent my mother and i when she wandered back around, and i know he didn’t like that i chose her every time even though she paid me no mind and he was a doting parent. i went a couple years without talking to either of my parents, but we’re all actually pretty good now. my mom has made up for a lot and she’s not perfect bt she’s still trying and i can say the same for my dad as well

Altar Pentacles

Pronounced pen-ta-kull Element of Earth Direction North Color Green Gender Male and Female Associated with Hades or Mars

Description- A 5 point triangle in the middle of a circle. The top point represents spirit (however not all witches represent it as such), the right top point represents water, the bottom right represents fire, the top left represents air, and the left bottom represents earth What the Heck is it- An altar pentacle is normally made (but not limited to) with saucer-type, metal, or wood. Usually set on an altar to be used for protection and as a center point for your magick. When Getting One- Just like the others, nothing to say besides find one that calls to you, or make your own however you want Most Common Uses- Protection, center of energy, various uses in spellwork/magic Things to Remember- Normally the pentacle has one point facing up to the sky, however if you flip it upside down so that two points are facing the sky, it symbolizes a ram’s head and is normally meant to be satanic

Athame

Pronounced a-thAM-ay Element of Fire Direction of South Color Red Gender Male Associated with Sun or Apollo or Apollo

Description- The athame is a tool of command, used to direct power. Normally only used in rituals and is deemed a very sacred object (unless a part of Sax Wiccans) and is normally given as a gift. The blade is often left dull What the Heck is it- It is a double edged blade with a handle. They are normally made of stainless steel, copper, silver, other metals, or carved stone. When Getting One- Make sure it fits in your hand. Most personalize theirs, but it is up to the person. I have seen some use a old letter opener their father had as one. Most Common Uses- Casting Circles, Focusing your point of energy, opening ritual, handfasting (wedding), or initiation rite. Things to Remember- Not all witches need or use an athame. it is something you gain a bond with. I personally do not use one because I prefer my hands, but it is totally up to you

Bells

Pronounced b-eh-LL Element of Spirit or Air Direction of South Color Silver or Gold Gender Female Associated with Apollo or Apollo or Goddesses

Description- Bells have been around for many years, they come in different shapes and sizes, as well as different tones and sounds, and not a common tool witches use What the Heck is it- They are more or less cup-shaped objects with a string and a ball attached to the inside of the cup, so when you shake it, it makes a sound. When Getting One- Make sure you like the sound! You can even choose to relate the color/sound to your intent Most Common Uses- The bell is a ritual tool of invocation (summoning a deity)and banishment. It is related to a strong, willing force (example: a Goddess). Bells have been associated with magical/spiritual powers for a few hundred years. The sound symbolizes creative power, and their shape a symbol of the female force and celestial vault. Can be used in opening/closing a circle. Warding off negative/evil energies/spirits, or invite happy/good vibes/energies/spirits Things to Remember- There is not just a few ways to use a bell, so let your imagination come to life when using them!

Besoms (Brooms)

Pronounced beh-soum Element of Air Direction of East Color Yellow or Pale Blue Gender Male Associated with Goddesses or Hygeia or Hygeia

Description- The Besom (broom) is used to ritually cleanse an area before magic is performed. What the Heck is it- The besom is a broom used in cleansing your ritual areas. When Getting One- Nothing special to say here besides that you can get different ones made out of different things to correspond with your intent Most Common Uses- In handfasting (marriage) rituals, couples often jump over the broom if they want children. Witches often have a besom stick down, bushy side up to keep unwanted spirits and energies out Things to Remember- Besoms are special protection tools, however again, not all witches must have one

Bollines (White-Handled Knives)

Pronounced boi-line Element of Earth Direction of South Color White Gender Male Associated with Goddess Energy or Pan or Faunus

Description- A bolline is a knife with a white handle and a single sharp side blade What the Heck is it- The bolline is the practical knife of the craft, used to cut wands, flowers and herbs. It is used to cut things so your athame does not When Getting One- Make sure it feels right in your hand and has a white handle Most Common Uses- Cutting herbs, flowers, etc, carving sigils into things (like a wand or athame), used to whittle/make a wand Things to Remember- You can cut anything to do with a ritual, just don't use it to cut things outside of your craft

Cauldrons

Pronounced call-droun Element of Water and Fire Color Black or Blue or Gray Gender and Direction Female West or Male South Associated with Hestia or Vesta or Celtic Deities

Description- A iron pot that (normally) has three feet and a handle. Cats like to store their toys in them, too! What the Heck is it- Cauldrons have many different sizes, from ones that are big enough to a tea candle to the big ones you use for cooking in fireplaces. The cauldron is symbolic of reincarnation, immortality and inspiration. When Getting One- Get them in many sizes for different things (if you want, this is a suggestion) Most Common Uses- Burning spells or incense. Cooking. To keep it dirt/water in it for spells that involve fire, Bounty, blessings, (in some Celtic beliefs) Bran the Blessed and the Goddess Cerridwen, and the Cycles of birth, death and rebirth Things to Remember- Animals love to play in them (c a t s man) so make sure they are safe to play in for your furry buddies or put away so they can’t get hurt.

Thuribles (censers)

Pronounced th-ur-ih-bell Element of (incense) Air and (coals/fire) Fire Direction of North Color White or Yellow or Purple Gender Female Associated with Zeus or Jupiter

Description- “a container in which incense is burned, typically during a religious ceremony.” What the Heck is it- The censer is an incense burner used during ritual. Normally a small cauldron, or a hollow ball on a chain When Getting One- Make sure that it if fireproof. I use an old tea strainer as one, so feel free to get crafty Most Common Uses- To burn spells/incense/etc, to purify an area/tools/or circles Things to Remember- Always have a cup of water/dirt near by when dealing with fires

Chalices

Pronounced ch-al-is-es Element Water Direction West Color Blue or Silver Gender Female Associated with Dionysus or Bacchus or Poseidon or Neptune

Description- Chalices are cups made from any material to be filled with liquids What the Heck is it- Chalices (cups) are used on altars or placed in a direction facing west and represent The Female Principle of Water. When Getting One- You can get sets for Covens/dinner parties, just one, or different one for different meanings Most Common Uses- Holding and serving liquids for you/other people/Sabbats/deities/etc. People passing the chalice around a table, Taking a sip, then saying “May We Never Thirst!” Things to Remember- If you intend to drink out of them, make sure the one that you get is safe to drink from

Grimoires/Books of Shadows

Pronounced grim-waur Element Earth Direction West Color Brown or Mauve Gender Female or Male Associated with Athena or Minerva

Description- The Book of Shadows is the workbook of the witch. What the Heck is it- It is a book that holds spells/notes/anything about your craft When Getting One- Some people prefer notebooks, I prefer binders and google docs so you can add shuffle your papers, take your papers out and put em back in for a ritual, and take away things Most Common Uses- To write down information such as: Rituals guidelines, Invocations, Spells, Runes, Rules of a particular Coven or Tradition, Symbols, Poems, Chants, Sigils, or anything else you may find useful Things to Remember- A Book of Shadows is more of a spell book/you book. A Grimoire is more of a list/aesthetic/etc thing. You do not need two books for this, but I thought I would include that there is a slight difference between the two •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Staffs

Pronounced st-a-f Element Earth Direction North Color Brown or Green Gender Male Associated with Pan or Faunus or Asclepius or Vejovis

Description- A (most are) wooden stick more or less What the Heck is it- Staffs are held up there in importance with some witches. It is a shoulder sized stick witches use for many things When Getting One- Make sure it’s just about your shoulder height, and decorate it/buy it how you like. You can get a few for different meanings/ceremonies/holidays. Most Common Uses- Used as a wand, to hold up ceremonial banners/flags, and other things Things to Remember- People can say “oh it’s just easier to use” “oh the magick does the thing better” all they want. But I don't know the only reason it’s shoulder length is so you don't knock yourself out in the middle of a ritual

Swords

Pronounced s-or-d Element Air Direction East Color Blue or Green or Yellow Gender Male Associated with Ares or Mars

Description- A sword is a object with a long metal blade and a hilt (hand grip). Some have hand guards What the Heck is it- A sword can be used as a weapon or ceremonial object When Getting One- Make sure it feels balanced in your hand and you can put it in a sheath without it dragging the ground Most Common Uses- Thrusting, striking, Typically worn as part of ceremonial dress, used in place of an athame Things to Remember- If you go to a Coven meeting, always ask before bringing a Sword and if The High Priest/Priestess asks you not to use it yet they use one themselves, it’s to keep you and the others safe

Wands

Pronounced wah-und Element Air Direction East Color Yellow or Brown Gender Male and Female Associated with Hecate or Trivia

Description- “a stick or rod thought to have magic properties, held by a magician, fairy, or conjuror and used in casting spells or performing tricks.” What the Heck is it-There are wands of glass, copper, silver and other metals, but the “classic” material is still wood. Various woods have different magickal associations and uses. When Getting One- Normally witches want a wand the length to be from the crook of your elbow to the middle/tip of your pointer finger, however I personally like it shorter, it’s up to whatever you feel more comfortable with. You can also get a few for different meanings/etc Most Common Uses- To cast a circle, direct energy in spells and such, and to use in spells and such Things to Remember- Witches who don’t have/don’t want to use an athame use a wand. However you are not required to use one (I use my hands)
