Theater is
Theater is a kid, trying to figure out what clubs to do in second grade, knowing that they've seen musicals and plays before and loved watching them and seeing drama club on the list
Theater is

Theater is the kid, old enough to sing in the musical, memorizing their lines and others, loving every second of being onstage
Theater is
Memorization
Blocking
Choreography
Theater is the kid, now in middle school, deciding to do the theater class since there is one at their school now, meeting the theater teacher, meeting new friends, being good at it, finally auditioning for their first actual musical
Theater is
Stage Fright
Friendship
Confidence
Theater is that kid getting the main role, doing theater again the next year, knowing so much about all of it and teaching the newer kids, painting set pieces with their friends, the friends that they now have because of theater
Theater is

Lights & Sound
Theater is the kid going into high school, leaving their middle school theater teacher and younger friends, so anxious about it but quickly finding their place in their theater class, volunteering at a drama fundraiser and meeting older theater kids there, learning their names and being able to make an impression
Theater is their first high school audition, for the fall play, multiple smaller plays directed by seniors, and having fun, getting cast in one of the biggest ones with the best directors they could've asked for, still anxious about being a good cast member but getting more confident again
Theater is rehearsals 3 times a week after school, the kid finding their footing in the cast, making friends with the older kids, being able to make suggestions or point things out that need fixing in the show
Theater is the kid being able to impress people, being able to memorize their lines, being able to be confident, being able to fix things, being able to say hi to their cast in the halls, at first just smiling at their director when they passed each other during passing period but then saying hi, even talking for a minute or two, the cast walking to the grocery store together at the start of a rehearsal for almost no reason, the kid being able to talk to their castmates, their friends, and not feel out of place, being excited for the bigger productions later in the year, not being worried about stage makeup because they know the older kids will be there, knowing that the older cast members and their directors will help them if they need it, knowing that they'll still be able to spend more time with them, knowing that they'll be so sad when the seniors graduate, but knowing that they still have almost all of the school year with them
Theater is
Belonging
Safety
Laughter
Freedom
Joking

Acting
Acting, but with people that you trust. With people that even though you met them 2 months ago, that you know. You know their mannerisms, how they laugh, their sense of humor. You know that they're kind, you know that they care, you know that all of you love this. You all love this so, so much. You know that if you make a mistake on stage, that they'll improv and cover for you, and that you'd do the same for them. You know that no matter how anxious you are before the show, that they'll be someone with the same nerves and you can comfort each other.
And then the last show will end, and the audience will applaud. You will bow, with these people, these people that you may not have known a few months prior, but that so much trust has formed between. You've played improv games with these people, walked to the store with them, rehearsed over and over and over again with them, learned so much from them, taught and helped and been taught and helped, and it's over.
Until the next show, and the next, and the next year with more new freshmen, some of the kid's younger middle school friends now there too, until the year that the kid will direct their own show, as a senior, and try to be just as good a director as the ones they had their freshmen year.
And they will belong.
They will all belong.

I've been watching Hazbin Hotel in prime. Just watched episode 5 and I gotta ask
Why, oh, WHY DON'T I SEE MORE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT "MORE THAN ANYTHING" WHEN TALKING ABOUT THE HAZBIN HOTEL MUSIC???
Like I get it, the song before it "Hell's Greatest Dad" Is a bop reminiscent of other music from the era its parodying. I loved it.
BUT why are you only putting clips of that song when this MASTERPIECE comes a few minutes after
I honestly don't even know where to begin with this song. The visuals are beautiful, especially when we get moments like this where you can just see the absolute LOVE this man has for her daughter is so sweet and Heartwarming I just-
The voices are fenomenal but what else can you expect from the broadway talents of Erika Henningsen and Jeremy Jordan.
There is also the whole Symbolism with passing the baton to the next generation and stuff. I- I can't even get into the specifics right now Im too emotional.
But above all else THE LYRICS
ESPECIALLY THAT LAST ONE
"I'M GRATEFUL YOU ARE MY DAUGHTER/FATHER MORE THAN ANYTHING"
DO YOU WANT ME TO CRY?? CAUSE I AM. I AM BAWLING MY EYES OUT RIGHT NOW.
It's just so fucking beautiful man. Probably the best song I will hear all year. Obviously my favorite from Hazbin.

“can i tell you a secret?“ you whisper into the quiet space. you’re sitting on the kitchen counter, waiting for the food on the stove to finish cooking. the smell is floating around in the air, filling the apartment with a tantalizing aroma.
izuku is standing between your legs, his strong arms wrapped around your middle and his face buried in your neck. his curly hair tickles your skin as he breathes in and out, and you can feel his heart beating against your chest. you squeeze your arms around his shoulders, tightening your legs wrapped around his torso, taking a few seconds to breathe in his scent, to breathe him in.
you love the moments like these, where the two of you are just existing together.
“you can tell me anything.” his breath is warm against your neck.
you smile, “i know.” pulling away from him, you set your hands on each of his shoulders. he removes his face from your neck, rubbing his nose against yours before moving back to look you properly in the eyes.
“i think… i’m a little— a lot obsessed with you.” you’re telling izuku this as a part of a joke, but maybe a tad bit serious, if you want to delve into how deep your love truly runs for him. maybe another day.
he raises his stupid perfect eyebrows. “are you now?”
“yeah.” you peck his nose. “maybe a bit”
“hm.” his cheeks bloom into a light shade of pink, corners of his mouth curling. “well, i’m probably a lot more obsessed with you.” he pauses, “it may be a little concerning if i think about it.”
you laugh, and it causes him to grin, green eyes twinkling. “more obsessed than you are with all might?”
he kisses your cheek. “i’m obsessed with you on a different level. i —” he takes a breath, passionate eyes holding your own. “i’d say you own me, have all of me. everything of mine is yours.”
your lips part at the confession, heart stuttering in your chest. “own?”
izuku nods his head. “i definitely have my own relationship with all might,” his smile turns sheepish. “but no one holds a candle to you.”
he ducks his head and presses a kiss to the middle of your chest. “you have my heart.” he kisses your neck. “you have my mind.” and then your jaw. “my body.” ends at your lips. “everything of mine belongs to you. i'm all yours.”
you stare at him, taking in his presence. his words. “izuku…”
he grins. “so if you’re a bit obsessed with me, i don’t know what exactly i would call this.”
“i love you.” you think you’re about to tear up. cupping his face with your hands, you pepper kisses all over, smiling when he laughs under your attention. “so, so much.”
“i love you more.”

favourite film? mine is Flatliners (1990, not the 2017 one), you?
oh GREAT question, love that flatliners is yours!!!!
so, not to over-answer your question (though, have you met me?) but there's a few different answers for me depending on the nature of the question. there's the favorite film as in the best film and then there's the favorite film as in the comfort film. for me, both of these have to be movies that I'll rewatch any time - I've seen lots of movies I thought were excellent and that you could not pay me to watch a second time
my knee-jerk reaction to this question is always, always Children of Men. it is a perfect movie. I've seen it one hundred million times. it brings me no comfort but I love the shit out of it. so that's up there. the other one that is perfect to me, but that I DO get a certain comfort from (I love movies with explosions) is Mad Max: Fury Road. I saw it, like, four times in theaters lol.
speaking of movies I saw a lot in the theater (tbf it was the halcyon moviepass days): The Greatest Showman. love that flick. other comfort favorites: 2005 P&P, Clue, The Philadelphia Story, Some Like it Hot, The Proposal, and anything with Meg Ryan (including Anastasia).
but yeah, if I had to pick one it would be Children of Men.
