Okay back on my bullshit now I’m free from Jail aka my job. I saw you post about card games therefore-

A world where you can fight people with magic summoning cards that either summon beings or effects and the dark version if you lose a battle your soul gets trapped into a card yugioh style,

But also like Bakugan you have a main sentient humanoid bro that is like bonded to you though it’s there choice really. It’s sorta like the being choses whatever schmuck. And some are notoriously picky. They have their own will and dislikes and what not. They are a person

Cue Jimmy being a card user that has the equivalent of a deck of the worst buffs (Example he has cards that give him bad luck he can’t get rid of) or newb monsters On the level Like Kuriboh (Yugioh) or caterpie (Pokémon) and like his only useful card is the one that gets him canary wings but to use that card he has to use one of his bad luck cards as well.

Cue Jimmy after probs about to be a victim of his soul getting trapped into a card yugioh style after losing to a evil dude that does shadow realm esque villainy. Finally managed to get his main dude that’s his ace and gets bonded to Tango right before he dies.

Tango is a chimera class bonded which means that he is a sentient dude that can switch elements which is very rare. He is even more powerful because his elements (ice and fire) are completely opposite. Usually even after the whole you got bonded to a dude the being can decide their relationship or what not. And idk mate Tango sees the worst card player ever and thinks ah yes this is the one.

So Jimmy hears all these stories about how the card players have to like show their worth to their bonded and Jimmy is like Tango never puts me in trials yo get his respect. Meanwhile Tango is hear thinking he has the greatest dude as his partner and maybe perhaps wanting to smooch him (which is not uncommon in this universe)

Jimmy accidentally makes Tango Uber powerful because he falls into the thing in Pokémon the more friendly you are to your Pokémon the more they will be op (in Pokémon case literally forcing itself to stay at 1 if it was crit hit or being the matrix)

And Yes Jimmy eventually figures it out that Tango loves him. But it takes a while solely because Jimmy isn’t the sharpest tool. Once they get together tho they legit become feared. Because again Tango is a OP monster being that’s hella rare and even rarer to counteract against all his powers. And Jimmy goes through like a typical card game protag and get gud.

as someone who gets very emotional when my pokemon affection crit/dodge/heal a status effect i can imagine jimmy being like. “man tango is so cool and strong. i hope he likes me.” and his Best Buddy (i think either scott or grian) would be like “um. dude you do realize part of why he’s so powerful is because he really likes you right”

cue jimmy learning that affection actually affects power and being very flustered because “oh so that’s why he keeps annihilating everything in his path. because he cares about me. ok. ok.”

but yeah. dramatic anime duels, they go on a quest to find one of the rarest cards in the game (aka the warden card) to defeat whoever the rival is

actually stream of thought while i’m doing this, joel is the rival. i think that would fit. can’t believe he has the super powerful ocean queen AND the insanely crazy ninja cards. wild

Playing Pokémon Violet again made me muse about OverWatch. I know I only played 25 hours of said game and feel like playing a support unit isn’t a good idea for a newb player.

I tried playing Brigette and Kiriko. I just didn’t feel ok. Been playing Moira too. But I just feel an attraction to LifeWeaver, which lead me to finally play said game.

I think his bio light and character story was cute. Though it sucks I missed out getting the Lotus skin. I thought his abilities and outfit made me think he’s a magical girl persona in a cybernetic world. I wanna play as him in quick plays, but I been lectured by kids saying I’m a crappy player when I’m playing as him.

Everyone loves the new Season 6 support too. Which miffs me. I do like her skins too. I may try to find an image of her to try drawing on Procreate app.

Another thing, I’m not against shipping characters and I’m not against OW x Reader fics. Hell, I was into yaoi as a tween and didn’t realize it was stereotypical on the LGBTQA+ couples. I know better now. But I really see bad tropes happening in the Hanzo x Cassidy tag. Their art and stories are decent, which is helping me to draw guys better. I’m not hating Yeehan. Both are attractive guys and both tend to work solo. Hence their frustrations kinda lead into a budding relationship.

I want to to do an Overwatch fic. I read Sojourn. Most lore I have are the comics. I had read the PDF of Pharah and Baptiste coming out. I just wish I can find better outlets for my comic. I did deal with self harm, real life and drawn out, but I dunno how to play out for a update comic on TGTN tumblr.

Elriel Stakes

Why They’re Important for Endgame

Ever since I read this post by @breaking-shadows a few days ago (you should all read it, it’s amazingly explained and incredibly analyzed!!!), I’ve been aching to add my own two cents from what I know as an aspiring writer, too. @breaking-shadows does a great job of showing you how the Stakes have built up from the start regarding Elriel and I will try to explain, to the best of my capabilities, what Stakes are, a few types of Stakes, how we see them in Elriel, and why that helps me confidently say that Elriel is endgame.

Because I’m not a published author or writing expert, I’m going to cite people who are and attach the links to the pages where I got the info from, in case you’d like to learn more or simply corroborate. This way no one can say I, as a newb, cannot be trusted.

This is going to be a long ass post, you were warned.

“Every story must have stakes. Stakes (especially high ones) keep the plot moving, keep the characters growing and changing, and keep your readers engaged.” – Claire Bradshaw

First: What are Stakes?

Editor Clair Bradshaw says that Stakes refer to what a character stands to lose or gain. It is literally what is at stake. If a character wants to rob a bank, for example, what is at stake for them? If they get caught, they have to serve prison time. Perhaps if they do not rob the bank, they will not be able to feed their family. What if they were being forced to rob a bank by an outsider? Is their family in danger if they do not rob the bank? Do you get where I’m going?

Rob the bank and fail: jail and hurt kin. Rob the bank and succeed: money to survive and safe kin. These are Stakes.

Some questions to ask (to identify the Stakes) are:

What does the character stand to lose / gain?

What do they want and what stands in the way of getting it?

What are they risking?

When are the Stakes not high enough?

When what they stand to gain/lose is nothing or not very important.

When the external consequences and repercussions of the character’s actions are non-existent.

And when the story that is being told does not define or is not life-changing for the character.

Second: Types of Stakes

Donald Maass (novelist and head of the Donald Maass Literary Agency) and C. S. Lakin (multipublished novelist and writing coach) identify three types of Stakes:

Personal Stakes

These stakes “illustrate why this goal and the action that must be performed to that end matters in a profound and personal sense.” These are connected to the main character. What do they want? How does getting or not getting it affect them? These Stakes do not affect any other characters but themselves.

Ultimate Stakes

These stakes are the ones that “test the limits of the character’s conviction.” What do they have to overcome? Do they want it enough to fight for it? How many obstacles are in the way?

Public Stakes

These are “things that can go wrong in so many different ways” and that promise “even bigger disasters that will happen if the hero doesn’t make matters come out OK.” These Stakes affect the world at large and other characters besides the main one(s).

Third: Where are the Stakes in Elriel?

Now that my impromptu writing class is over (lol), let us analyze the current Stakes in Elriel, shall we? (For a deeper analysis of how the Stakes built-up over the books refer to @breaking-shadows’s post.) There may be some I missed, which do feel free to comment!

Personal stakes (ones that affect the character itself):

Choice – Elain. We have seen throughout the books how Elain’s choice has been constantly taken away from her: being turned fae, Greysen, living in Prythian, etc. Where she currently stands, the narrative has presented yet again how choice is being snatched away from her. We know she wants Az, but can she choose him? Will she allow her choice to be snatched from her again? Will she fight for her right to choose and choose Azriel?

Healing/Self-esteem – Azriel. Though there is a journey of healing to be had for Elain, too, I feel like that journey has begun since Acofas, whereas from Az’s chapter we know that Azriel does not think too highly of himself and that he does not believe he deserves Elain. This is a personal issue he must resolve either with her or by himself, but he needs to sort through that.

Happiness – Both. Yes, happiness. If Elriel is the route SJM will take, both Elain and Azriel have their heart at stake. They both want each other and ignoring that for the world’s sake will conclude in their misery.

Past Love Interests – Both. Though we, the readers, know neither Mor nor Greysen are candidates for Az and Elain respectfully anymore, they need to let us know if they are completely over them. Are their past desires going to surface in their story, or have they found closure within themselves?

Misunderstandings – Both. Okay, here comes in Gwyn and that darn necklace. I know Gwynriel stans hate it when we mention her as a plot device, but if Elriel is going to be endgame, Gwyn is going to serve a function in it whether you like it or not, otherwise what was the point of SJM adding her to the chapter. Gwyn does not have to be used by Azriel to keep the plot moving. She could be a friend, but I’m sure her character will provoke tension. Elain doesn’t know who she is and probably will read incorrectly into it when she sees her with Az. Not even to mention when she sees the necklace on Gwyn (if this even happens in the first place).

Ultimate Stakes (the obstacles):

The mating bond – Elain. This obstacle is the catalyst for the rest of the Stakes that are going to be mentioned below and half of the ones mentioned above. Without the mating bond, Azriel and Elain would’ve already been together by now, but where is the fun in that? 😏 Will Elain reject the bond? Does she know she can do this? If so, why hasn’t she? What does she know that we don’t? There is a lot to be explored from this. The rejection of a mating bond is a plot we have yet to read. This would add spice to what we know and help with the questions a lot of us have regarding the Acotar universe.

The High Lord’s order – Azriel. Let’s face it, Rhysand was not the one giving the order, it was the High Lord of Night. Az himself recognizes his friend pulled rank. This is a major obstacle to overcome. Will Azriel go around his High Lord’s order (something he has never done), or does he not want Elain enough to fight for her, for what they could have? What repercussions could it bring if Azriel breaks the rules? How will that affect the dynamic between the IC? You cannot deny this sounds exciting. The drama this could unfold is out of this world.

Public Stakes (world-altering):

The Blood Duel. This Stake has the potential to unfold in civil war between Autumn and Night. Though I believe Lucien will never declare a Blood Duel for Elain if she explains how she feels (he is noble and galant at heart), Beron is aching for a fight and I assume he will force his hand. Could he himself declare the Blood Duel just for the war he wants to unleash? Could this lead to his death and Eris’ promotion to High Lord? Will Azriel fight to the death with a High Lord of Prythian? Could he kill Lucien for real if the male is forced to fight for a mate that does not want him? Could Elain herself fight in the duel for her choice (that is a post for another day)? What will this mean in the overarching plot? How will it affect other courts’ relations to the Night Court? The potential is endless.

Fourth: Why I believe Elriel is endgame according to the stakes

Listen, as you have already learned, stakes are important propellers of a story, and good stakes mean good plot. The higher the stakes, the more readers are going to want to watch the tension and drama unfold.

Elriel has a lot of them.

They have enough to move the plot of a single book: the personal stakes move the romance plot, the ultimate stakes keep the angst, and the public stakes connect the overarching plot to the previous books. Not to mention whatever storyline SJM creates to get the characters together (like the Spy!Elain theory connected to the Dusk Court theory). It sounds too well thought out to be something an author would dismiss to have the characters join with the easier choices.

Sure, Elucien and Gwynriel have their own stakes (which I could explore if you guys want me to), but they are mostly personal and not as world-altering and character-defining as Elriel’s. Plus, when you ask the questions from the first part of this post, the stakes just aren’t high enough for Elucien’s and Gwynriel’s journeys (there are absolutely no obstacles for them) unless there is something SJM hasn’t told us yet.

The stakes have been building since Acomaf and have reached their peak in the Azriel chapter. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine an author adding stake after stake to a relationship just to anticlimactically ignore them. As a writer it just does not make any sense to me, and as I reader I would be really angry if Sarah does not exploit the potential within that route.

With that said, this would be me @ SJM if she goes with the easier choices for Elain and Azriel:

Im very interested in Dionysus and would like to make an alter for him. Ive done some worship, but Im still very new to this. What do you do with offerings once youre done? Are there certain offerings and decor I should go for? Do you have any tips or advice for newbs?

Welcome!! I'm still fairly new to all of this as well, but I'll try to give my best answers.

Depending on what kind of gods you're working with (khthonic, ouranic, thallasic, etc.) the way offerings are done may be different. For Dionysus, I tend to give him earthy things I come across, little treats I've made, wine, and even poetry, music, and art. Offerings that mean something to you, I find, are the ones the Gods appreciate the most.

I don't like to assume anything about the offerings when I'm done, so I'll tend to use divination to ask if it's ok whether I consume the offering (if it's edible/drinkable) or not. Otherwise, I make playlists I listen to and keep art posted in a special area in my room.

I was recently at a decor store and found some vines and earthy scented candles that I want to put on my altar for Dionysus. Go with your gut, if you find something and it feels right, put it on your altar. That's how mine have come along and I absolutely love them!

The most important tip I have is: don't compare yourself to others! It's hard, I know, especially when you see elaborate altars and fancy rituals that someday you might want to achieve. We all move at our own pace, and that's ok!

Another tip I have is not to spend all your money on fancy things for your altar. I understand some people prefer this and/or have the ability to, but for a lot of us, we just don't have the funds. Go outside! Look for things from nature you can put on your altar. I found a really big pinecone that I keep on mine and Dionysus loves it! Maybe you or someone you know drinks wine? Take the empty bottle and use it as a candle holder. Want some kind of representation of him? Print out art of him or things you associate with him. There are no limits, get your creative juices flowing! Think of some other things you like as put those on there too!

In the end, it's you and Dionysus. Communicate with him along the way via a divination method you prefer. Listen to your heart and you'll know. Good luck! If you have any more questions, feel free to message me and I'll help the best I can. Have a great day, anon!

The Dean takes great joy in ignoring phone calls from Sanctuaries.

They have all pissed him off at some point or another, so he has them in his contacts under “Asshole”.

If a Sanctuary can’t get through to him, they will start calling the TA’s. Which isn’t any better, during these calls the TA’s refer to The Dean as “daddy” and tell them that “daddy is very mad at them” before hanging up.

Butter: A sanctuary is calling.

Newb: tHeN sHoUlDn’T yOu AnSwEr It?!

DW: It’s one he doesn’t like.

The Dean: *temples his fingers* I don’t like any of them.

*phone rings again*

The Dean: *gets up* I think I’ll go for a walk.

DW: They just gonna call your cell!

Newb: If we don’t answer that…we could be in trouble.

Butter: Not so much, we aren’t exactly separate but half the stuff we have stored here…let’s just say it’s a unsteady truce.

Newb: Well…which one is it?!

Butter: No clue, if one pisses him off he changes their contact name to “Asshole”.

Newb: This is not good.

DW: I wish I had popcorn

Butter: *hears a noise* Oh mines ringing! *answers his cell* Hello….speaking…..oh no Daddy’s very mad at you….yes it’s still about what happened in ‘59…..well you see I’d have to care…..ok well I love you buh-bye!

Newb: Who was that?

Butter: *points at The Deans desk phone* I’m going to say that sanctuary.

Newb: yOu TaLkEd LiKe tHaT tO a GrAnD mAgE?!

Butter: Hey I was being nice.

Jeremy: *sticks his head into the office* Why is Hot Mess calling me?

DW: *wheezes*

Newb: You have a sanctuary’s number saved…in your phone…as HOT MESS?!

Butters: That’s because it is.

Jeremy: *answers* Hello…I’m sorry Daddy doesn’t like me talking to strangers bye. *hangs up*

Newb: WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT?!

Jeremy: What? I did not recognize the voice.

DW: My phones ringing.

Newb/Butter/Jeremy: *stares*

DW: *lets it ring*

Butter: Are you going to get that?

DW: Dude we are going to give the newb a aneurism, they can leave a voice mail.

What she said

This has been a difficult post to prepare. After much thought, I wish to share some very interesting information. Some know from my recent post, I went to Ozlander in Melbourne, Australia on March 14 & 15, 2020, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Richard and Sophie. As a premium ticket holder, I enjoyed lunch with them on both days. They would individually spend 5 minutes or so at each table and rotate through the tables to meet the fans. At the event introduction on Day One, we were asked to respect Richard and Sophie by not asking questions of a personal nature, which naturally, everyone understood. Therefore, I wasn’t going to ask anything about Sam, Cait, or even Tony. So, I was more than surprised when Sophie briefly mentioned Cait’s wedding!

Sophie visited our table and we talked about a number of things. It was Sophie’s first trip to Australia; Caitriona had been here and had told Sophie how nice it was. Someone asked Sophie, 'You went to Caitriona’s wedding, didn’t you?'

'Yeah, Caitriona’s husband is a lovely guy.' (Did she just say that, I thought?)

I asked Sophie, 'You and Sam were the only cast members that went?'

And she replied, 'No, Tobias was there as well.' Interesting.

Sophie then added she took the photo of Sam in the Dunhill suit (remarkable weekend).

'The background had to be photoshopped as we couldn’t give away the location. It got onto social media and Caitriona wasn’t that pleased about it,' Sophie said a little ruefully. (Sam had posted the photo on IG. The right-side background looks very photoshopped.)

During a photo session on Day Two, I asked Sophie, 'Did Caitriona marry Tony?' with the emphasis on the word Tony.

'Yeah,' she said with a smile.

'Really?' I asked.

'Yes. Really,' Sophie said.

Then I said, 'Well she doesn’t say his name and hasn’t released any photos so...'

'I don’t know...,' Sophie said pleasantly enough. Wow!! Being so busy and so involved with OL for so long, I don’t think she fully appreciated how all the Tait secrecy is being perceived in the fandom.

Okay, a photo or some sort of evidence or it didn't happen. This info from Sophie was really unexpected. What sort of proof would be acceptable and not immediately suspected anyway? Nevertheless, I believe I have the evidence I need to satisfy myself. Someone else who was at the same Day One table, has confirmed to me in writing (I contacted her a week or so after the event) she heard Sophie say all this as well. I don’t think my acquaintance follows the ins and outs of the SC/Tait drama. I don’t think most of the people at Ozlander did from conversations I had and the general talk I heard. So, my witness doesn’t have a vested interest in The Narrative and, I believe, just gave a purely objective confirmation.

If I had heard Sophie say Cait married Sam, you would probably believe it, put this info in the receipt warehouse, and any evidence would be a bonus. I have been wanting truth no matter what it is. I’ll just deal with it. While it’s greatly disappointing, I do wish Cait and Sam happiness in life whomever they find it with.

I discovered OL 18 months ago and have only been active on Tumblr for 8 months. So, I am still a newb of sorts. Some might say a naïve babe in the woods with not much to lose. However, I’ve met some wonderful people on this side of the fence and I will probably lose friendships and reputation, be unfollowed and blocked, receive a lot of vitriol, be called a troll working for (fill in the blank), etc., due to this heresy. So, my info does come at a price for me. I understand I have not experienced years of surviving on this side of the fence, enduring the delusional tag and the attacks and insults from antis, NST, TPTB, Shamuso, and even some from Sam and Cait, and being thrown under the bus when convenient. I get, in principle, some shippers will close ranks and support any higher-profile shippers who don’t believe me. I anticipate this will be the response. One way to discredit information is to discredit the person presenting it, and I assume this tactic will be employed as well.

So why am I putting my head on the chopping block? Notoriety? Hardly. Well, as I said, I want intel even if it conflicts with what I hope for. I believe people can ship the way they want (within reason) and as KDS infamously said, believe what you want. I don’t wish to convince anybody, nor get into a slanging match with anyone. It would be pointless really. I feel obligated out of principle to reveal the info and not hide it no matter how controversial and inconvenient that might be. I understand some may not think it a good time in the fandom right now to deal with this but I didn’t want the info dating too much before putting it on the table. I understand and I am sorry. But is there an optimal time to hear this?

People like I, who want to know what is going on or had suspicions, and are prepared to accept this information, will welcome it. They have had enough of the mess that is happening right now in The Narrative as well. Also, I don't wish to be intimidated into keeping contrary evidence hidden just because it doesn’t suit the manifesto. And I apologise in advance to high-profile shippers who will probably be inundated with comments and asks. I accept there will be jealousy involved. Why did a newb get this intel? Believe me, I wish it didn’t happen to me; I really wish it was someone else. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

For the record, yes, I’m Australian living in Australia. I understand some people’s problem with that. Why does so much narrative controversy emanate from this place? I don’t know. I wish I knew. We often call it the lucky country (for various reasons). Do we appear have more luck than the Irish?!

However, and unfortunately, this does not provide closure for me. I accept the Tait wedding. I do have problems with the Tait marriage, sorry to say. I don’t know why games are being played. Cait still doesn’t call her husband Tony, there were no wedding or engagement photos made public, and no confirmation from her PR team when wedding articles hit the magazines. It seems like secrecy, not privacy. Why so secret? We continue to see gaslighting, innuendo, and an intentional vagueness, to keep us all engaged it seems?! And Hawaiigate is certainly a head scratcher at best.

So, in summing up, the four things I learnt about the wedding are:

1. The wedding happened.

2. Cait married Tony.

3. Tobias was there.

4. Sam posted Sophie’s remarkable Dunhill manipulated photo on IG and Cait wasn’t too happy about it.

Most shippers won’t like my saying Tait is real and most antis won’t like my saying Sam and Cait continue to play games. But that’s ok. I knew this going in. I just think it is important for the info to be put out there. I don’t wish to appear foolish, talking about a fake wedding, now that I know Cait married Tony. I think there must be other intel such as this out there. Perhaps the time is right for others to make their intel known.

I believe the four things Sophie said about the wedding. I do not have any further intel to share, nor do I have any further theories on what is happening with Sam, Cait, or Tony that haven’t been discussed on Tumblr already. With this in mind, I’m prepared to answer every constructive and civil comment I may receive on this post, including any DMs. If you wish, please look through my blog to see what I have posted. You will find it aligns with this side's thinking. You may see some names that do not. Please consider the message, not the messenger. ok friend i'm gonna need more info about this gay patch 👀

It's the best decision I've ever made in my gaming career imo. So basically there are two mods called Gay Awakening and Gay Fates both created by a user called UnassumingVenusaur years ago (and to my knowledge they are no longer updating it and it's more of a community thing with people unofficially updating it now) and these mods add new S-Supports for same-sex characters, new supports (both romantic and platonic), with the ability to have the second gen kids if the pairing allows that.

Picture below is of the support list in my Awakening File and Fates Birthright File (I don't have the kids yet on either but I know they work from previous playthroughs. Only caveat is kids don't appear as siblings in Awakening and fixing that is annoying imo. Awakening is just a bitch to mod in general I've found):

I also have other mods for Fates on like the Icon Mod, Voice Select Mod, Paralogue unlocker (for the kids cause Fates has bullshit that Awakening doesn't with checking the gender of characters because Niles/M!Corrin & Rhajat/F!Corrin aren't allowed to have kids blegh), and the Unofficial Add on for more supports.

Now you need a Homebrew/Hacked 3ds that can let you patch in custom firmware or you need to emulate the game through Citra and mod it that way. I personally don't use Citra so I can't comment on it, but I will say that Homebrewing is not difficult per-say if you follow a beginners guide to a T (like I did. I'm not an expert at this and am very much a newb but I got it to work) but you need to be careful.

Var if you're interested I can dm you the guides that I used to get all this working and then help with setting up the mods themselves also through dms.

Ok my No Nuance November hot takes for the Ninjago fandom

Nia has an undercut. Bob or ponytail doesn't matter, undercut.

Her fashion sense is just as awful as Kai's. Just a bit more practical. When she's not dressing like the manic pixie villain in a 90s flick with borderline racist Japanese esthetics then she's walking around in athlesure ware and chunky combat boots.

I'm not all here for the Wu hate but he do be an asshole tho. He's not meant to be a father figure. More like a football coach he's mean and commanding. Dareth is the designated team dad. He's the one who brings them snacks and pats them on the back and tells them how badass they were out there.

Speaking of parents, jay's adopted Nia the second they met her. Even before they knew about jay's crush. Nia calls Mrs. Walker mom and they go on girls trios together and she calls her more than Jay does.

They also don't on Kai like a son but he's a little less receptive to it. It's good for him tho.

Lloyd has two different personalities a lot like Superman does. There's Lloyd and then there's the green ninja. He's usually goofy and soft and defers to nia or cole on most decisions until it's business time and he goes all green ninja. The others fall in line behind him just as quickly.

Cole is team big brother. I know Kai's gone all big brother on Lloyd and I respect that but cole is team big brother. Need someone to vent to? Cole. Need help with homework? Cole. Hugs? Cole. Superior taste in music? Cole. He seriously gives the best hugs.

Nia and Kai function pretty well independently but when they do get together they are scarily in tune. They communicate almost completely non verbally, unless their bickering. Which is terrifying in a fight and confirming domestically. It's not uncommon for her to trudge into the game room early in the morning after a bad night and just curl up against his shoulder.

Also, they do classic sibling shit like stand in the doorway and stare at eachother for no reason other than to be annoying. Sometimes he just opens her bedroom door when he walks by for no reason. They also make up none verbally. They have a blowout fight over dishes that ends with the kitchen curtains on fire and an hour later kai's replaced the curtains and Nia passes him a fucking code red she ran into town for. It makes no sense to the other ninja since their only children.

Lloyd is an alt kid. And he's a bit androgynous. You cannot tell me that boy hasn't worn a fishnet top to the grocery store. Him and Nia are alt fashion disasters together and it's beautiful. So much eyeliner, so many safety pins.

Nia is way closer to the guys after she starts her training. There's no reason for her to not be just as integrated into their schedule just because she's a girl. They've all definitely passed out on mats together. They share a stalled co-ed bathroom in the dojo so you know they're all leaning half asleep over the sink in the mornings brushing their teeth. The boys are fascinated with her hair routine.

They definitely all slept in a ninja pile in the never-realm. I don't care about the bunk beds its too cold for them to sleep separately. They all fight over Kai, and Nia wins because that's her big brother and she pulls rank.

Kai calls Nia mom patronizingly when she nags. It gets to point that all the ninja start doing it except Jay mostly because he doesn't even whine at his own mom like that. Lloyd does it the most even casually calling her mom in public. Sometimes when her and Kai get into it Cole jokes that Mommy and Daddy are fighting.

Eventually, it gets to the point that whatever two ninja are in charge in any given scenario are called mom and dad. Pixel and zayne dealing with a nindroid horde? What do we do dad? Coke and jay dealing with video game monsters manifested into the real world? Jay's whining about why he's the mom in this relationship.

Skyler starts coming around a lot more and her nia and pixel are terrifying when they get together. Girls night is an event for sure on the bounty. But mostly it's just nice to have other girls around more. Especially when you break an arm and need help bathing. Pixel is a life saver when your other top options are your brother or Zane.

Cole while a fan of a wide range of music is the metal head of the group. He's got rock t-shirts and punk bad posters and him an nia bond by going to concerts. She also barrows his t-shirts a lot for alt outfits since they just fit the aesthetic.

The boys have always known better than to go easy on Nia but when they started training with her they knew she was pretty new to spinjitzu and didn't want to seriously hurt the newb so they held back quite a bit. She was having none of it and ended up going really hard against them until in a three on three Cole swung at her thinking she was Kai in the red gei and nocked the living hell out of her. Sent her flying and Broke her nose. She payed him back with a sprained wrist and a trip over the side of the bounty before he could apologize.

Pixel and nia bond over building things, new toys for the boys mostly. Or working on Samurai X. But nia also teachers her how to thrift and alter her own clothes. Clothing wasn't something Pixel ever really had to worry about she just wore them ti make other people comfortable but getting to make things for herself with her own hands is one if her favorite hobbies now. She wears all kinds of aesthetics. Steampunk hippy is definitely a favorite tho.

Lloyd is the token guy allowed in the girl group. Sometimes when they go out to brunch together he tags along. They drink, and gossip, and shop and get their nails done sure. They also go to classes together and compete in races and elemental competitions and go to those businesses where you pay for an hour alone in a room full of glass and you just smash shit.

No explanation, but I'll probably give the backstory later. For now: memes of Paranoia being an A-class parent and a chaos gremlin. (okay it started as memes but then just ended up as fleshing the AU out)

Paranoia, sneaking back into the subconscious to check on his now teenaged children: I'm gonna leave duke a r a t that I found and thought looked cool

Duke, waking up the next morning and yelling for 'Nesty bc "HOLY CRAP NESTY LOOK AT THIS RAT ISN'T SHE ADORABLE I WANNA HANG HER ON THE WALL": !!!!!!!!!!

Paranoia gets a habit of sitting on the fridge because his children were wild as kids and sometimes duke comin at you with a knife warrants jumping onto counters

Nesty, who doesnt get paid to deal with duke: I'm raiding dads liquor cabinet it's my due for putting up with this

He leaves ONE fake snake in romans cereal and the lights just. Lose it. Hes kicked back into the subconscious to be chaotic with his kids, no new side, just the hours upon hours of film hes gotten from the bugs hed placed around the unconscious and a plan for the next several movie nights

He gets back and honesty is w h e e z i n g bc he was watching through the cracks and they make a fail compilation of the light sides

It takes like two months for the lights to just go insane with him around not due to yknow paranoia but bc hes such a gremlin

Patton asks if he was raised by wolves and he shoves mr sparkles at patton saying "take the issue of how I was raised up with my father, a-hole!!"

He doesnt actually curse he just yells "A-HOLE" so loud his kids can hear

They dont find out he's a dad until hes summoned and hes making cookies or smt with the kids and hes in a bright orange stereotypical witch outfit,,, corset and all and an apron that says "worlds most chaotic dad" on the front

And hes talking to one of the kids like "duke you can only put dish soap in your batch nesty cant digest it like you can"

Patton has an apron that says worlds least chaotic 'dad' courtesy of paranoia he made it himself(read: he stole pattons good apron and scribbled over it in sharpie)

Paranoia is always close to cackling when around the lights bc theyre newbs to any chaos

Roman and remus are twins but roman is the kind of kid to promptly forget abt anyone and logan n patton knew remus less than a day before he "disappeared" aka ran to the subconscious to explore and theyve just kinda blocked him out

Logans fine with it and actually likes the decorations tho he has asked if they had to be so brightly coloured and if there had to be so much glitter

I say decorations but hes a secret gremlin at heart and is super close to snickering at all times bc of the pranks

Also yes paranoia mildly dads roman it's great but he dads in an older sibling type way

So pat and logan are all "hes fitting in as an older brother well" and they tell him abt their approval of his older brother chaos and hes just like "no this is how I am deal with it nothing to do with brothers" bc hes not telling them abt his kids he doesnt trust them

Hes up at like midnight complaining with logan abt how patton doesnt let him be full chaos gremlin and logan says "mmmhmm did your parents in the dark side let you go wild with the chaos" and paranoia just,,,,, looks at him, dead in the eyes, and says "I dont have parents"

Cue logan being confusion

Paranoia, who genuinely didn't have parents: my parents are mr sparkles and the cat we've had for my entire life

Logan, who doesnt know they had a cat and is now worried bc "are you taking care of it???": ???

Paranoia: it's great for keeping the Others in line tho I just say "do your chores or no snuggle time with ms peregrin" and they do their chores while I'm making dinner

logan, incredibly confused: i don't know what you mean but ok

Paranoia: yeah theyre dumb but it's the level of dumb youd expect from my idiots

Or he slips up and refers to them as his children/kids and logan, not realizing they have an Actual Father/Sons relationship/age difference(paranoias abt.late 20s early 30s, remus defies all logic and has been about 9-10 for a few years now, and dees like early teens) just says "huh how.interesting would it be to have to deal with people your age that immature" and paranoias just. "Y e a h t h e y r e t o t a l l y t h e s a m e a g e a s I a m"

Duke is very much baby and upon seeing duke eating glue paranoia and honesty the idiots decided to try it too

theyre so dumb dsdhdhdhjsdh

They AREEE and paranoia, after discovering that duke has the h a r d i e s t immune system they decide to test exactly what he can and cannot safely eat bc he may be dumb but hes also def a Dad and he just wants to take care of his kids and if that includes making sure that duke can safely consume toilet bleach then so be it

Duke can eat almost anything short of actual cyanide but cyanide just makes him sick like stomach bug sick

He somehow gets a fever,,,,, he has it for like half an hour and paranoia is amazed

Hes in bed,,,,, paranoia makes him soup,,,,,, hes all better and running around again

Paranoias parenting rules:

Dont murder your brothers pls

Do your chores or no snuggle time with ms peregrin

Glitter is always a yes

Insults are fine just make sure you dont overstep and make your brothers insecure

If you get sick, tell him immediately bc he will find out and he will be the most obsessive parent to make sure you feel better ASAP

If your pronouns/name/function change, tell him immediately, he'll make sure you dont feel uncomfortable as well as he can

It's a nice system for making chaos but keeping it manageable

They're all printed then the last one's scrawled in glitter gel pen and duke wrote a reply that said (I'm sorry yall dont have as good an immune system as I do)

There was a whole passive aggressive arguement on the bulletin for the next week before it got taken down to make room for dukes art

They eventually started just putting them up over each other and using magnets instead of thumbtacks

The entire bottom portion of the walls are painted in chalkboard paint so theres no unerasable drawing on the walls and the rest of the paint is magnetic so they can hang pieces everywhere

Dukes improving rapidly tho and doesnt like looking at his old art all the time so paranoia holds onto the drawings in several filing cabinets in case he ever wants to do redraws or needs his original prints to make something in the Imagination

I'm also a newbe on the IT fandom since I watched them (2017 and 2019 version) during the lockdown, and the 1990 miniseries not long after. I swear) there are those Cosplayers on tik tok, mostly fezilius and Synthestron, moonshine4snails, tarondactyl and aphelion (they're cosplaying with their friends, if you have time watch they're works, even if they don't do only It contents, they're really good Cosplayers that I love) (i just noticed I've mentioned only male/nb Cosplayers, so I add cospla.natro (on Instagram and tik tok) and Ligeia.cosplay (on Instagram and tik tok too) and there is also the reddie videos of kmcarras (on Instagram)

I still don't know how to put links in her (I'll try to figure out while answering) the leach series of Fuji09 (mentioned above) on AO3. A fic called When you say my name by YoungDumbandFullofHeadcanons on AO3 (really a jewelry, but a lot of tw, mostly of transphobia, be careful and take care) and a hard one called "a lot of marshmallow" by MeganRosenberg on AO3 (apparently) kinda hard because it's a violent one. There was others like Above and bellows (I think) i can't find it back to mention, I think the author deleted it.

I'm really proud of the fonction I'm currently writing, even if it's a fiction with an OC and I'm a little ashamed of that(because people judge that a lot). (As said before not posted yet) and my tik toks about Richie and patrick (the two last I've posted.

It's now 3am, and I haven't finished, my phone Will probably get out of power before the end XD (like this I'll see if Tumblr have some automatics saves)

Introducing Harlow

Meet Harlow! First, I’ll get into what kind of doll she is, all of that nitty gritty, and then Harlow will take it from there to explain more about herself. I’m also still figuring out how to best photograph her, so bear with me.

Harlow: “Hey, everyone.”

Harlow is from the first wave of the BMR1959 collection, a line of Signature Barbies released in 2019 (yup, straight from the Wiki). I first saw one of these dolls on the Instagram of a collector I really admire and I was immediately taken with the unique clothing design. I had no idea Barbies could look like that, honestly.

Ok, brief digression about Barbies.

Harlow: “Oh boy.”

I’ll try and make it quick. For some reason I said to myself early on, when I realized I was very serious about getting back into doll collecting, that I wasn’t going to mess with Barbie.

Harlow: “What? Barbie’s iconic, c’mon.”

I know! Exactly (and there are lots of amazing Barbie collectors out there, I’m sure). So, maybe I’ve got some internalized issues to unpack surrounding Barbie. Another niche doll-related thing to bring up with my therapist I guess (I kid. She’d be down though, she’s very cool).

My mom also informed me that I was so infatuated with a certain Oreo Barbie at age 5 that she had to procure her from the depths of eBay for me.

So really, I’ve come full circle. Barbie has been doing her thing since 1959 and I’m here for it.

Harlow: “Let’s remind them of my face again in case they forgot.”

Hey now, can’t a person reminisce in peace?

Harlow: “Humor me.”

You’ve got a point. Alright.

BMR1959, which stands for Barbara “Barbie” Millicent Roberts and the year that the first doll released, was initially conceived as a celebration of Barbie’s 60th anniversary. I’m sure Mattel held other shenanigans to commemorate Barbara, I’m just a Certified Newb and don’t know what went down exactly. Still learning as I go and everything.

So BMR1959 is a collection unto itself, but it also seems to be a sub-collection of the Barbie Signature line. The latter looks to cater more to adult collectors, with the byline being “Shop All Rare & Barbie Collector Dolls”. Carlyle Nuera is the Lead Designer of Barbie Signature, so therefore plays a key role in BMR1959.

I highly recommend checking out the two-part interview he did linked above, it’s really lovely. But basically, one of Nuera’s priorities is making sure his dolls are representative of a diverse population (now if Mattel could institute that same principle in another certain company...). Here’s what he had to say specifically regarding BMR1959:

“My concept for the BMR1959 line was as if ‘BMR1959’ was a real fashion line and the dolls were all wearing pieces from the line. The design of the clothing and the ‘BMR1959’ branding worked in synchronicity with the design of the dolls wearing the clothing. In my head, I was a casting director asking myself ‘Who am I going to put in my clothes? Who do I want to invite into the line? Who do I want to be able to see themselves as part of this line?’. I wanted to make sure that all different types of people could see themselves in BMR1959.”

The clothes are also designed to be shared between the five different body types the line contains, which is super cool. They’re all on Made to Move bodies, with 22 points of articulation. Harlow is a typical Barbie size at 12’’ tall.

Harlow: “Thanks. Ok, some Cliff’s Notes on me. I’m very passionate about music, graphic novels, and I love exploring cities, old and new. Hopefully I’ll be able to do that again this year.”

Harlow: “Lauryn Hill, Mac Miller, Childish Gambino, and Joji are constantly in my rotation, and I’ve recently discovered Giveon and Tkay Maidza so they’ve been getting a lot of play too. It changes all the time, though.”

I’ll have to check them out. Ok, and tell us about some of the graphic novels you like.

Harlow: “Sure. Well, I think it all started for me with Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim, and it kind of took off from there. Make sure to check out O’Malley’s other work, especially Seconds. Then I got into fantasy graphic novels with Neil Gaiman’s Sandman. That was definitely a game-changer for me. And of course, any graphic novel aficionado worth their salt has read and enjoyed Saga. I could go on for a while! Maybe I’ll make my own post about it at some point.”

Sounds like a good idea.

I had a thing this morning when cleaning up my Twitter. Maybe it’s content lulls, maybe it’s quarantine brains. Maybe a change in creative direction. Whatever the case, there sometimes comes a point where people spend more time griping about a game they play or a show they watch or a series they read than actively enjoying it anymore. They start to engage with the media out of a sense of obligation, a need to finish it, or a hope it improves, or because all their friends are still there...

No. Stop.

Trust me, if you’re only in it for the people/RP/etc, then all you’re going to do is poison those connections. I’ve seen it too many times. There are other ways to stay in touch with folks without spending all your time tearing down things they may still enjoy. Come back to it later, maybe, with a fresh perspective. Or don’t, that’s OK too. But know of you spend most of your posts being about how the writing sucks the devs are terrible at X and so on...I’m going to step back for awhile. Maybe for good, if it continues. Because I just don’t need or want that.

I have absolutely unfollowed, even muted or blocked, friends (or former friends) before, too, for being so negative about things they were still active in and even spending money on and I couldn’t see why. And/Or they became so anti-everything I had to get out and detox my brain from their influence and relearn how to like, or just be OK with, some things again.

I’m also going to make more of an effort to follow my own advice, particularly about making sure my own blogs and such are the kinds of feeds I’d want to follow if I were a fandom newb looking for people in a new fandom I was excited about.

Beginning of the month *checks Following, removes various random celebs & fandom folks who’ve become relentlessly negative about the thing they’re ostensibly in the fandom of* Twitter will eventually be like FB where I follow a handful of local folks, some artists, & meme accts.

Especially since this damned platform makes me see everyone’s Likes & Retweets regardless anyway, unless I manually shut off the retweets per account (and sometimes even still...)

Yeah, there’s something to criticize in all properties (& I certainly do) but when it gets to the point where I wonder why you’re in a fandom for something you don’t seem to enjoy at all or have good opinion of, that’s when I start to analyze how much I need to keep following.

A good rule of thumb may be to look at your own feeds as if a new fandom baby, excited about this new thing & wanting to follow folks in this fandom. Would excited fandom baby follow an acct where the poster thinks everything is a trash fire? Or skip for others loving it too?

Reply Post: It just sucks when it’s also people you otherwise like & enjoy what they create but I’ve had too many instances where someone’s negativity/anti opinions drug me down with them & sucked joy out of things. So now I preempt that. Sometimes it’s just a cycle & needing a break, too.
