My *Updated Winter Skincare Routine + Some Tips 🎀
I have tried out some new products and have found some new personal favorite skincare items for the winter! I figured I’d update on my current morning and night skincare routines and add in some tips (based on things I’ve been doing that have been working for me). I am not a dermatologist or professional, these are sino,y my routines and what works for me!
🩷 Morning Skincare Routine
Wash my face with Cerave Hydrating Face Wash and cold water
Pat dry with a paper towel
Apply Jumiso Vitamin C Serum
Follow up with Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream
Use sunscreen, Beauty of Joseon Rice + Probiotics SPF 50
that’s my simple little morning routine! I love it so much more for than my super complicated routine because sometimes it’s nice to just get in and get my skincare done for the morning.
🩷 Night Skincare Routine
these two things stay the same every night, but the rest differs by night
Oil cleanse on dry skin with Anua Pore Control Cleansing Oil
Follow up with using the B.Lab Matcha Foam Hydrating Cleanser
Monday/Wednesday/Friday - Exfoliating
Use the Cosrx AHA/BHA Toner
Pat in the Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence
Use the Torriden Dive In Low Molecule Hyalorounic Serum
Next, I pat in the Beauty of Joseon Calming Serum
I use the Cerave Eye Repair Cream on my under eyes
Lastly, I use the Cosrx All In One Snail Cream
Tuesday/Thursday - Retinal Eye Cream Days
I use the Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner
Next, I’ll use the Torriden Dive In Low Molecule Hyaluronic Serum
Then I’ll occasionally use the Skin 1004 Centella Asiática Ampoule serum
Then I Pat a bit of the Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Cream under my eyes
Lastly, I lock it all in with my Etude Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream
Saturday - Basic Day
I’ll use the I’m From Rice Toner on this day
Then I’ll use the Good Molecules Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Followed by either the Anua Peach Nicain Serum OR the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum
I’ll Pat the Cerave Eye Repair Cream into the under eye area
Then I lock it all in with Etude Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream
Sunday - Full Self Care Day
Before double cleansing, I use the Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Face Mask (I love her)
Then I double cleanse
Then I’ll use the Anua Toner Pads
Then I use my Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence
Then I use either of my Hyaluronic Serums depending on how I feel
Then I’ll use the Axis Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum
Cerave Eye Cream of course
Then I use the Cosrx All In One Snail Cream
Every Night -
I pat a little Hyaluronic acid serum into my lips and seal it with Vaseline
a lot of products, yes, but I went crazy and bought a bunch of skincare and now I’m using it and my skin loves all of it honestly! My skin is not super sensitive so I use everything within reason in a way that won’t irritate it. For me, I know what works for my skin and what doesn’t, and that’s been the most helpful thing. Now, for some tips,
🩷 Skincare Tips
Apply vitamin C to dry skin! I’ve heard this helps with absorption and the way the serum works!
Pat face dry, do not rub! Rubbing irritates the skin and pulling on it aggressively like that isn’t good long term
Use clean paper towels! May be a bit wasteful but it’s a lot cleaner then using a face towel that you wash once a week
Apply Hyaluronic Acid to damp skin for better absorption!
Apply all serums to your clean fingers to pat into skin as dragging the droppers across your skin can collect bacteria and what not
Always use sunscreen! I myself sometimes forget or I skip it and that’s just not good for your skins health long term
drink your water!!! Hydrated skin starts from within, lovelies
Use products that work for your skin type! Avoid fragrances if you have sensitive skin, avoid snail mucin if you have a dust allergy, etc
Cold water in the morning to refresh your skin and wake you up
if I've washed my face + done my skincare the night before, I do not wash my face in the morning. I simply splash with cold water and do my morning routine.
learn your skin type! this will help you determine what products will be beneficial for your skin type and goals. My skin bounces between oily and dry depending on the weather, if I did skincare, if my pillowcases are clean, etc.
don't touch your face, at least not with dirty hands. always make sure your hands are clean before touching your face
don't pop acne! not only with this leave the chance of scarring, but it spreads the bacteria from one pimple to the rest of your face
brush your teeth before doing skincare. when you brush your teeth after, you may rub off the stuff you've applied or mix it in, which is not the best for your skin
those are all the tips I currently use in my everyday life regarding my skin! I hope this was useful!
til next time lovelies 🩷

hii i feel like john b doesn't get nearly enough fics and i <3 your writing so could i request a fic where he's having a rough day so he comes over and reader does her whole nighttime routine w him to help de-stress? 💗💗

Today was not John B's day.
He woke up in a shitty mood and everything else just went along with that. He burnt his pancakes, he forgot to pay the water bill so he was stuck with cold water as a shower. He forgot to do laundry so he had to wear his dirty clothes. And the Camerons were being more asshole-ish than usual.
He just wanted to go home and eat, relaxing while watching a TV show. So why did Ward make him clean the yacht for the second time this week?
He texted you throughout working and you felt really bad. You wanted to do something that would cheer him up.
He heard a ding and pulled out his phone.
Y/N:) 💋☀️ oh, im sorry to hear that baby:/
Y/N:) 💋☀️ do u wanna come over and watch something?<3 maybe that'll help
Y/N:) 💋☀️ i love u jb:)
He smiled at your texts as he sent a quick text back, not wanting to hear another lecture about phones from Ward again.
JB 😎 No worries babe 😘💕 I love u too
JB 😎 That sounds like heaven 😫 Be there at 6 x
--
Work couldn't have even sooner for John B. He was so excited to go see you; he's felt like it's been weeks even though in reality, it's only been maybe a day. Today just felt so long but he knew that one kiss from you, and all that stress would go away.
He pulled up to your house and quickly got out. He was prepared to spend the entire night with you, sleeping in your arms so that all his stress would melt away.
He knocked at the door and your mother answered, letting him know you had just got down with your shower and that you were upstairs. She also reminded John B to knock before going in.
As he was told, he knocked before going in.
"Mom, I'll be down in a minute, let me finish my skincare."
"It's not mom, It's John B."
You quickly jumped out of your chair and ran to the door, opening it and embracing John B. He smiled at your enthusiasm.
"Oh, John B. I missed you."
He leaned into you, sighing in content. "Me, too, baby. Me, too."
"I was just going to finish my skincare and we can go get some popcorn and eat, okay?"
"Um, actually. I think after the day I've had, I need a mask."
You smiled at your boyfriend. Your glad your skincare is rubbing off on him because you wanted him to relax (you also didn't want him to age badly). "Of course, baby! Just uh, go take a quick shower and we can get started!"
He didn't even have the energy to be offended at your underlining comment so he just nodded and went into your bathroom, closing the door.
As he showered, you got the candy and popcorn ready. He got out and he sighed in relaxation. He then looked at the bowl next to your bed to find his favorite candy. "Ooo."
He took a handful before you came in with a huge grin on your face. "Okay, we have either a peach collagen mask or a vitamin d matcha mask."
He laughed immaturely at the mention of D. "Vitamin D, of course."
You rolled your eyes playfully as you put down the other mask, opening the vitamin d sheet mask. "Did you wash your face?" You asked before putting it on.
"Yes."
"With my CeraVe cleanser?"
He nodded and sighed as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. But if you asked him that a few months ago, he would've asked who CeraVe was and what a cleanser is. You're glad you've taught him well.
You smiled at that, nodding. "Good."
You put on the mask and John B felt his muscles relaxing from your soft touch, and the gentleness of the sheet mask on his face. "This feels so nice. I can't remember a time when I didn't use masks."
"Mhm, I bet your skin feels the same."
He sighed contently as you fully adjusted the mask to his face. You walked away towards your mini-fridge to get a Jade roller. You went back to John B and started massaging his face with it.
"Wow, this feels nice. Is how the rich feel?" John B commented as you laughed.
You kept massaging for a few minutes before stopping, making John B groan. You rolled your eyes.
"My arms hurt, John B, I can't do this until it dries."
He sighed and nodded, "Okay fine."
John B then went to go sit on your bed and turn on the TV as you put your mask on. John B then went to the bedside table and grabbed the popcorn, eating it happily.
You smiled at your boyfriend. You're glad that he feels better now. You got into the bed too, taking some of the popcorn and eating it.
"Okay, babe. It's your pick, what're we watching?"
"21 Jump Street."
You sighed. "... Again?"
"Oh shush, I know you love staring at Channing Tatum."
You rolled your eyes playfully, knowing it was true.

No one asked for a skincare routine, but y’all are getting one anyway because maybe this will help me stick with the routine bc I have definitely slacked off for the past like…6 months lol
Tumblr media
So here is my current lineup!
I start with the Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser and this has worked SO well for me! I was using a $50 cleanser before but tbh..it was making my already sensitive skin breakout even more 😩
Next we have the serums! So, I swear by the cocokind vitamin c glow serum. A little bit goes a long way with this stuff
Then I really love how affordable The Ordinary serums are so I use their hyaluronic acid as a nightly treatment.
My last serum I use is also by The Ordinary and it is their Retinol in squalane every other night.
Depending on how dry my skin is, I will double up on moisturizer.
I really love Pacifica’s skincare line and I am almost out of their vegan ceramide moisturizer and it is sooo good.
I also love Peach & Lily for their matcha pudding moisturizer. It’s amazing on sensitive dry skin and especially now that we’re heading into the colder months!
Finally, I use the r.e.m beauty under eye cream every night
Also, I exfoliate whenever I feel like my skin is feeling particularly dry/clogged and I absolutely LOVE good molecules pineapple exfoliating powder
Tumblr media
I am trying to remember to wear sunscreen everyday and I managed to reapply when needed to today and idc what it takes, but I’m sticking with it!! Sunscreen is soo important but I truly think it’s a sensory thing for me because I just don’t like the feeling of anything being on my face. I’ll hardly ever wear makeup bc sometimes the feeling is just too much for me to handle

i wanted to share my skincare routine with y'all. i'm open to comments, suggestions, and questions. ♡
A.M routine
❀ step 1: cleanser
DHC's hatomugi face wash. i think it's really gentle on the skin and perfect for sensitive skin.
❀ step 2: lotion
DHC's hatomugi lotion. it makes my skin feel hydrated in the morning.
❀ step 3: milk
DHC's hatomugi milk. it's a nice silky cream and lightweight.
❀ step 4: sunscreen
DHC's brightening sunscreen for my face. it's (very) matte and a little difficult to spread at first. now i put it on my face by sections, which seems to help with the spreading. (does leave a white cast tho)
neutrogena's dry touch sunscreen for my neck. it's easier to use that than the DHC one. easily absorbed.
supergoop!'s sunscreen lip balm. it still moisturizes my lips despite the sunscreen.
P.M routine
❀ step 1: cleansing oil
DHC's deep cleansing oil. feel like i really get all of my day's worth of impurities out. also great for removing makeup.
❀ step 2: cleanser
peach & lily's power calm gel cleanser. it's refreshing and cooling. i think it's good to use right after oil cleansing.
❀ step 3: toner
p&l's good acids pore toner. it's also refreshing. gentle exfoliant.
❀ step 4: spot treatment
clean & clear's acne spot treatment gel. it dries out my blemishes, making them quicker to go away.
the crème shop's hydrocolloid acne patches on white heads as it easily takes them out. i use them right after i apply toner. i don't use them on the same spot at the same time.
❀ step 5: serum
p&l's glass skin refining serum. i feel like this is the key to glass skin. really makes my skin glowy.
❀ step 5: vitamin c*
RoC's vitamin c serum. have noticed that it has made my skin brighter and glowy. it's slightly sticky but once dry, it's fine.
when i use this, i'm replacing the serum.
❀ step 5: masks
variety of the crème shop's products. i use their essence sheet masks, how do eye look? patches, other hydrogel eye patches, hydrogel lip patch, hydrogel forehead patch.
i don't use these all at once. i'd do the eye, lip, and forehead patch together or skip one and use the other two. i use these on a sunday (my reset day), but not every week (budgeting).
when i use these, i'm replacing the serum.
❀ step 6: cream
p&l's matcha pudding antioxidant cream. it's easy to spread. i think it reduces redness, but i think it's my brain tricking me since it's green lol.
❀ step 6: retinol*
RoC's retinol correxion night cream. it has a different smell that i'm used to. it's very easy to put on my skin. a little goes a long way!
when i use this, i'm replacing the matcha pudding.
❀ step 6: facial oil
PROVENCE beauty's alpha-bet facial oil. it hydrates my skin very well. it's a nice final step.
*i alternate between the two. (don't use them at the same time!) i use them thursday-sunday, which are the days i don't have morning classes. (i often do my P.M routine late at night)
note
i want to start using p&l's lactic acid repair serum. i received a sample when it first launched and instantly fell in love! i remember that it reduced the look of my pores immensely. however, i am on a budget so i had to make a sacrifice </3
when i'm home during the school year, i use p&l's glass skin kit (both A.M/P.M) + DHC's oil cleanser (P.M). and i use absolute care lux's 24 karat gold serum and cream at night. the serum leaves this shimmery look and it's quite cute.
i used to use DHC's collagen mist but it's now discontinued :( gave a slight dewy look. it was lightweight. also great as a setting spray. ultra hydration

Those questions are all so good, I can't pick!
1-30 pls? The ones you feel like doing 🫶
I have special interest in your thoughts on veganism tho
chipotle order?
carnitas bowl with pinto beans lettuce tomatoes crema guac and cheese
2. thoughts on veganism?
ain’t for me. I wasn’t born and raised to say no to meat as a hispanic texan. I feel it’s too self righteous a lifestyle, and somethin that’s very…hm… class restricted I’ll say. You gotta be able to afford sayin no to animal products. I understand in practice it’s so that one doesn’t partake in the loss of life or harm to an animal… but it’s like, why restrict that guilt to animals? Why restrict it to signals only we easily perceive? Trees and plants communicate to each other too, they also send their own signals of distress when in danger. They’re their own form of sentient. Whatever we eat, we are taking some or all the life of. (I guess except for eggs? bc that's just chicken period) That’s just something we must accept.
Also sometimes the marketing for it I find is funny. “vegan leather” you mean synthetic shit?? "yeah I'm sippin outta my vegan cup oh what brand is it you ask heh, Solo." like c'mon man. get outta here.
3. a specific color that gives you the ick?
I believe all colors have the potential to be beautiful within the right palette
4. mythical creature you think/believe is real?
answered!
5. Favorite form of potato?
Frenchly Fried
6. do you use a watch?
nah just my phone
7. what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?
the seals
8. do you change into specific clothes for the house when you get home?
ya my pjs (old shirt and sweats)
9. do you have a skincare routine (and how many steps is it)?
wash my face with face cleanser, put on moisturizer. every other day or so I put on an innisfree mask.
10. on a plane, do you ask for apple or orange juice?
I ask for a coffee with two creams and no sugar.
11. anything from your childhood you’ve held on to?
Oh many things, i got a bin full of em. sketchbooks, elementary yearbooks, diaries. My prized posession is my first stuffed bear, Clover. She’s stuck with me since I was 6 years old!
12. brand of haircare/bodycare/skincare that you trust 100%?
;–; none of them they all did me dirty. and I get too overwhelmed to look into what brands are the cheapest and best for my skin/hair.
13. first thing you’re doing in the purge?
stealing money to pay off my goddamn loans. That or I'd like to know who directly could cancel my loans (like is there a. like a "cancel loan" button on a computer or what. who's in charge of that button. I'm so smart guys I know exactly how the banking system works) so I could spook them into getting it done for me. I wouldn't hurt anyone, but I'd look the part to get them to do what I want.
14. do you think you’re dehydrated?
nah i drink plenty water.
15. rank the methods of death: freezing, burning, drowning
oof that’s tough. They all seem equal to me.

🍞 2022 favorites for skincare, makeup, and fragrances
tagged by @nito-onna 💌
thanks for tagging!! it’s been a while since i’ve done of these, but to start, i don’t use makeup or fragrances so i’ve listed my entire skincare routine to make up for it (you can read about theresa’s preferences here instead hehe)
krave matcha hemp hydrating cleanser (old formula)
i have dehydrated, sensitive and combo skin that’s also clog prone and reactive, and this cleanser doesn’t strip me raw (given that i do the rest of my skincare routine afterwards). i only cleanse at night with a smaller than pea sized amount which also helps.
pyunkang yul essense toner
my morning watery step. been using this for the last 3 or so years. i like to do multiple thin layers (between 2-3 in summer and up to 5 in winter) which seems to help with my dehydrated skin......... have yet to find another toner that’s as hydrating as this
cosrx advanced snail 96 mucin power essense
my night time watery step. slightly thicker/tackier than the pky toner so i use this on a dripping wet face. this stuff hydrates me nicely when paired with an occlusive (see: vaseline) compared to when i don’t use it because i can feel a difference! you’ll also find that all my skincare products are fragrance free and relatively scentless/neutral smelling.
muji moisturising milk moisture
from their sensitive skin range. i used the high moisture one previously and found it a bit meh? possibly clogging? this one’s meant to be in the middle of their tiers of hydration and it definitely is lighter but still not perfect. like my toner i also layer with this using thin layers (normally 2 but sometimes 1 or 3 depending on how i feel)
the ordinary squalane oil
for my desert dry cheeks, i love this stuff because i feel like it keeps my skin water in!! also quite soothing. probably one of the few products that truly belong on a ‘favourites’ list haha super effective when the air’s humid too.
vaseline
seals everything in on my cheeks as well! thin layers only and for night time use. slugging and anything else heavier/thicker than a cream that’s used all over my face clogs me so bad haha
burt’s bees lip balm
another favourite that i love a lot!!!!! smells soooooo tasty i want to try all the flavours. my favourite scents so far are vanilla and mango. i’m currently using watermelon!
azclear azelaic acid medicated lotion
spot treatment for my acne! also works well on blackheads. most effective on my forehead because it’s oiliest there and this stuff dries out my skin (my cheeks don’t need to get drier!). also helps heal my acne faster and stops it from fully blowing up if catch something coming up early
cosrx acne pimple master patch
essentially a bandaid for my face when i accidentally pop a pimple and it bleeds. i also use it when i’m worried of popping a head and or when i’m in a scratchy mood................. definitely works best and heals those big ones faster!
tagging most recent muts @gyu @evenofmyday @pollen :)

9. do you have a skincare routine (and how many steps is it)?

I bought some goodies at Sephora last night, so here’s a haul that no one asked for!! (plus links and prices because I’m nice)🥳
Tumblr media
Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+ $30.00
THIS!!! I have been waiting a whole entire year to get my hands on this spf stick. It somewhat went viral on YouTube and such so it’s been always sold out. I currently use a different one I bought from target but the problem is that it gives me a white cast. this one goes on crystal clear. I’ve heard it’s a tad on the greasy side but what spf isn’t?? I have yet to find one. and if you have…let a girl know.
Tumblr media
Shiseido Deep Cleansing Foam $36.00
okay, listen. I am NOTHING if not a shiseido and tatcha fan. This cleanser right here is so *chefs kiss* and I honestly think it is the reason my skin got so clear. this is a pricier cleanser so I use it very sparingly. (Also it foams up very nicely so a little does go a long way) I have combo skin so I use the one for oily skin, but they do make one for normal skin. this is my second bottle and I WILL buy again!!
Tumblr media
Mario Badescu Lip Balm (Mint) $8.00
no rhyme or reason that I bought this really. I needed a new “work lip balm” and I’ve heard good things about it. I literally go through lip balm like nothing at work especially because it’s so dry there, and I live in the Midwest where it’s still so freakin cold. plus it’s minty fresh.
Tumblr media
Sephora Melting Cleansing Balm $12.00
just needed this really. I always wear waterproof mascara to work and the gym and cleansing balms and oils are the only things that remove them. this comes in a big tub so it looked like a good deal to me.
Tumblr media
Sephora Matcha Tea Face Mask $5.50
just a sheet mask, nothing special. I’m in dire need of these because I think my skin has been feeling neglected.
Tumblr media
Sephora Strawberry Face Mask $5.50
same thing but different flavor. (lol jk don’t eat these)
Not Pictured:
Mens Cologne Sampler $10.00
Glow Recipe Birthday Gift for being a Sephora Rewards member $0.00
thank you and that concludes the haul!! 🤍

Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum: Unlocking Radiant Skin
Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum is gaining popularity in the realm of skincare, promising to unlock radiant, flawless skin. But what exactly is this serum, and how does it work its magic? Let's delve into the world of matcha-infused skincare and explore the benefits, science, and practical tips for incorporating it into your routine.
Tumblr media
1. Introduction to Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum
In recent years, matcha has transcended from being a beloved beverage to a skincare powerhouse. Super Matcha Pore Tightening Serum harnesses the potent properties of matcha to address one of the most common skincare concerns: enlarged pores. This serum offers a multifaceted approach to skincare, aiming to minimize pores while nourishing and revitalizing the skin.
2. Understanding the Benefits of Matcha for Skin
Antioxidant Properties
Matcha is packed with antioxidants, such as catechins, which combat free radicals and protect the skin from environmental damage. These antioxidants help prevent premature aging and maintain youthful-looking skin.
Anti-inflammatory Effects
The anti-inflammatory properties of matcha soothe irritated skin and reduce redness, making it suitable for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin. It calms inflammation and promotes a clear, even complexion.
3. The Science Behind Pore Tightening
How Pores Enlarge
Pores can enlarge due to factors like excess oil production, the buildup of dead skin cells, and loss of elasticity in the skin. This leads to a rough texture and a more visible appearance of pores, especially on the T-zone and cheeks.
Role of Matcha in Tightening Pores

Skin care routine
So I haven't really been focused on establishing a solid skin care routine. I have a chronic skin disease so I've been more concerned for my skin from a medical than an aesthetic point of view.
People will purchase super expensive skin care products and have a 10 step routine, but I believe the essence of skin care is inner care. Consuming the right vitamins and minerals (all vitamins A-K are great for skin and iron, zinc, and silica are too), omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and balancing your gut function and microbiome (I'm very much convinces that imbalances and dysfunctions play a huge role in eczema which is inflammatory at its root) make a big difference. Also being hydrated helps. That's why I don't believe in using a lot of topical products besides the essentials.
However, the skin care products I think are essential are:
Cleanser
Vitamin C
Hyaluronic acid
Serum
SPF
Moisturizer
Exfoliant
Occlusive
Eye cream (with retinol)
Retinol/tretinoin (f your derm gives you a prescription)
I wash my face with water in the morning, then I apply my Vitamin C moisturizer and SPF. Then at night I cleanse my skin, and then I apply my hyaluronic acid moisturizer. I will exfoliate every now and then. Because my skin has been very dry, I haven't been using eye cream nor tretinoin because they are drying. I will use any cleanser and I like my 2 moisturizers. However sometimes I feel like my skin looks dull. I believe that using a serum and occlusive can help here. Like I said I don't use those consistently and serums tend to be overhyped and overpriced. But I can definitely benefit from using an affordable yet effective one (Korean serums are great in this regard, same with Korean sunscreens). I can use the serum in the morning and occlusive at night because I don't want to go to work with greasy Vaseline skin. But they both work in a way that promotes healthy skin glow, something a cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF won't do on its own.
But really it's also a matter of looking into diet as well. I drink coffee everyday, some people will cut coffee out for the sake of their skin aesthetics. However I remember in college I used to drink matcha everyday and my skin was glowing. I was told I had dry spots on my skin in the past and I'm sure it's due to coffee, but I'm not going to quit just based on that. Though I will drink more matcha for its antioxidant and skin glow boosting properties. I can even look for skin care products with matcha (again I know a lot of Korean products do). I already drink 2 L water.
I already supplement with vitamins, minerals, and omega 3 fatty acids, and I eat berries which are a good source of antioxidants (I'll drink more matcha for an additional antioxidant benefit though). I also heavily believe in the skin-gut link. Even though gut health is overhyped, skin is one of the organs that are heavily linked to gut health (function, microbiome, and detoxing abilities). So a gut health supplement and overall gut physiological efficiency will help a lot. I'm still in the process of addressing this issue and potentially finding a go-to gut health supplement so I can help my skin/eczema. So I'll do that, continue my usual supplements, drink enough water, and incorporate matcha tea.
I'm going to look for a go to skin exfoliant. And potentially a new eye cream (you can't put retinol/treintoin by your eyes so getting an eye cream with something that works in a similar manner can help). I will also get professional facials every 4 months (with microdermabrasion because I really liked the results when I did it last time). I'll go for a treatment in a month.
While I have a chronic skin disease, it doesn't mean I can't focus on the aesthetic side of skin care. Even though I believe internal health comes first, and that's what makes your skin look healthy. Not just topicals. Good quality supplements, matcha tea, and addressing gut health do wonders for your skin more than a 10 step skin care routine will. The fact that I used to get glowing skin from drinking matcha tea proves that it has an internal benefit. Topicals are NOT enough, and I would be the first to know that as someone who is always prescribed steroid creams.

Green tea: use, benefits, and recommendations
Surely you have found a skincare product that has green tea among its components, and this is where the question arises: what function does this ingredient fulfill for skin care?
We resolve these and other questions related to green tea and its use in beauty routines below. For more information, you can take our online skin doctor consultation.
What is green tea? Green tea is an infusion obtained from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. There are different types of green tea, for example, matcha and sencha, which vary in flavor, aroma, and preparation. Unlike black tea, which undergoes an oxidation process, green tea is made from fresh leaves that are not oxidized and are steam or sun-dried to preserve their natural green color. The steam drying process stops oxidation and preserves the natural antioxidants present in the leaves. Green tea is known for its mild and slightly bitter flavor, as well as its beneficial health properties. It is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and has been shown to help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
In addition to its health benefits, green tea is also used in skin care products due to its cleansing and soothing properties. Green tea extracts are used to calm and refresh the skin, especially on sensitive skin prone to redness.
How is Green Tea Used in Beauty Routines? On the one hand, some resort to using natural green tea (presentation in bags) to create different beauty recipes. In this case, one of the simplest uses is to wet the bag a little, cool it, and place it on the eyes for 5 minutes to reduce dark circles. Another idea is to make a mask with green tea, removing the contents of the bag, and a little honey. Mix both ingredients and apply to the face for about 5 minutes and then rinse with water. However, it does not have to be homemade, for those who prefer products already manufactured and dermatologically tested, there are also options on the market that contain this ingredient. Green tea is often used in natural cosmetics to create a variety of items. Since it has various properties, it is used in the creation of products to cleanse, moisturize, rejuvenate the skin, or combat acne. Therefore, if you want to enjoy its benefits, you will find a wide range of options to choose from in the market.
Products that have this ingredient Many skincare brands have incorporated this ingredient into their products to offer their consumers the benefits of green tea. Because its multiple properties allow it to offer greater positive effects on the health of the skin.
Some skincare products that incorporate green tea in their composition include toners, facial cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and masks.
Facial cleansers with green tea are a good alternative if you are looking for a deep cleansing that eliminates any impurities on the skin. While toners of this type can help calm and refresh the complexion, as a second step in the routine.
As mentioned, serums and moisturizing creams can also incorporate this ingredient. It is ideal for combating premature aging and thus maintaining youthful and radiant skin.
In general terms, there are several types of products for your facial care routine that can be incorporated to protect the skin from environmental damage and keep it healthier.
Benefits of green tea for the skin
It is known for its antioxidant properties, which are essential to protect the skin from external agents and delay the aging process. The tannins and catechins present in green tea are responsible for this effect, which helps keep the skin fresh and improve any inflammation that may occur.
The catechins present in green tea have antibacterial properties and the ability to reduce excess hormonal activity, one of the factors that influence the appearance of acne. To combat eczema, green tea manages to play a good role as a moisturizer, thanks to its effective antioxidant power.
Another benefit of green tea for the skin is its ability to rejuvenate cells since even those who are ending their life cycle will be able to enjoy this effect. Due to this, green tea helps delay premature skin aging and the development of wrinkles.
On the other hand, green tea is a natural tonic with which you can achieve a total cleansing of the skin to eliminate any impurities. At the same time, you can enjoy a refreshing and calming sensation that is especially flattering for sensitive skin.
Who should use a product with green tea? Many people can benefit from using products that contain green tea in their composition. One of the main types to mention is sensitive skin since it is skin that tends to become inflamed, red, and irritated easily.
In this case, green tea helps improve your condition by having caffeine and tannins that slightly compress blood vessels to reduce inflammation and offer a calming effect. The catechins it contains help improve swelling, redness, and skin irritations.
On the other hand, mature skin can especially enjoy the antioxidant properties of green tea. Its use will allow wrinkles and expression lines to be reduced or softened, as well as prevent signs of skin aging; These same benefits protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun's rays.
People who have acne-prone skin also tend to have very positive results when including green tea products in their beauty routine. Since, its calming effect, protection against external agents, and properties such as anti-inflammatory properties will keep the skin more radiant, fresh, and healthy.
