Rhys Mannion photographed by Perry Ogden. Character still from the movie It is in Us All (2022). Dir. Antonia Campbell-Hughes. He will be next seen as the young C. S. Lewis with Matthew GoodE and Anthony Hopkins in Freud's Last Session (2023). The movie is already generating Oscars buZZ! (Variety) Well done, Rhys!
I had the pleasure of playing a young Matthew GoodE. He plays C. S. Lewis, and I play the younger version of him, who goes to war... (Westmeath Independent ie)
In It is in Us All, Rhys plays the 17-year-old Evan. His performance has been lauded as impressive!
An impressively assured Mannion holds his ground, interpreting Evan with subtly and a soft-spoken demeanor that contrasts with Hamish’s more overt ferocity. There’s still an inherent recklessness to him, but like a superhero who has learned to control his powers, Mannion plays Evan as the holder of a wisdom his counterpart still lacks. (IndieWire March 16, 2022)
The film has received numerous nominations from groups such as the Irish Film and Television Awards, Munich Film Festival, British Independent Film Awards, Frameline San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival. It won 2022 SXSW Film Festival Special Jury Award for Extraordinary Cinematic Vision, as well as Narrative Feature! [x]

Director Jeff Fowler teases Shadow the Hedgehog in new Sonic Movie 3 post
"Off and running," said Sonic movie director Jeff Fowler, as he teased Shadow the Hedgehog in a new image uploaded on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, today.
The picture, featuring Shadow’s rocket shoes and inhibitor rings, has sent the Sonic fandom into a frenzy. Next to Shadow is a film clapboard, revealing an updated logo for Sonic 3, with Jeff confirming the movie's 20 December 2024 release date. Cinematographer Brandon Trost, who previously worked in the same role for Sonic 2, returns for this film.
The tease came after the end of a historic labour dispute between the studios and actors, which will enable the resumption of regular filming operations in Hollywood as early as December 2024. It is currently unclear if this tease marks the start of actors being involved in filming.
On Sunday, at Aniplex Online Fest 2023, Aniplex revealed a new teaser trailer for Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: -Walpurgisnacht Rising- (Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten).
The trailer revealed that the anime film, which continues the Puella Magi Madoka Magica main timeline after the events of the 2013 film Rebellion, will debut theatrically in Japan in Winter 2024.
Aniplex also revealed a new key visual for the film and announced that director Yukihiro Miyamoto, who directed the original 2011 television anime series, its two film adaptation, Rebellion, and spin-off Magia Record is returning for Walpurgisnacht: Rising at SHAFT.
He is joined by the previously revealed staff, including the original creators Magica Quartet, chief director Akiyuki Simbou, writer Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus), and character designer Aokiume. Additional returning staff includes character animation designer Junichiro Taniguchi, who served as Chief Animation Director on previous projects, parallel world designer Gekidan InuCurry (Doroinu), who created the iconic, unique looks of the Witches Labyrinths, and composer Yuki Kajiura.
All of the original Japanese main voice cast from the series and Rebellion are set to reprise their roles:
Aoi Yuki as Madoka Kaname
Chiwa Saito as Homura Akemi
Kaori Mizuhashi as Mami Tomoe
Eri Kitamura as Sayaka Miki
Ai Nonaka as Kyouko Sakura
Kana Asumi as Nagisa Momoe
Emiri Kato as Kyubey
The anime was originally announced back in 2021, but in 2019 at Anime Expo, Homura's voice actress, Chiwa Saito, foreshadowed the sequel, saying that "the actual series has not ended yet" and that she was looking forward to everyone seeing Devil Homura, a reference to the ending of Rebellion, again.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica aired in 2011 to critical and audience acclaim. It became a cultural phenomenon and spawned two movie adaptations, Beginnings and Eternal, the sequel film Rebellion, and multiple manga and video game spin-offs. It is credited with popularizing mixing dark, postmodern tropes with the magical girl genre.
‘The Sandman’ Season 2 Episode Titles and Episode Count Revealed
The Sandman Season 2 is set to have 12 episodes, and Netflix may release them as two volumes, with six episodes each. The news comes via a profile update on Independent Talent for director Jamie Childs, who will serve as executive producer for the new season.
Netflix has yet to confirm this, but in recent years, the streamer has released anticipated seasons of TV series in two volumes. Stranger Things received the two-volume treatment, for example.
Then, we have the titles for six episodes of The Sandman Season 2. For those who know the comics, these reveal a good amount of information regarding where the second season is headed.
Here are the episode titles for the second season of The Sandman. We have only six of them so far, and with 12 in total, we think these could be Vol 1.
In no particular order:
The Song of Orpheus, named after the special issue of the same name. Needless to say, this one will focus on Ruairi O’Connor’s Orpheus
More Devils Than Vast Hell Can Hold, referencing the issue A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Brief Lives, named after the issue of the same name
Family Blood, likely referencing “spilling family blood”, something Dream seeks to avoid
The Ruler of Hell, referencing Gwendoline Christie’s Lucifer. Or perhaps Hell will have a new ruler? We won’t spoil.
Season of Mists, named after the comic collection of the same name. Previously mentioned Odin, Thor and Loki are most likely to appear in this episode.
The second season of The Sandman still has no official release date, but we’re not expecting a return in 2024. Indeed, it was left out of Netflix’s 2024 slate reveal in February, and 2025 seems to be the most realistic release schedule. Despite that, we’ve already had many casting reveals for season 2 so far, with more to come (more this week, in fact!), and filming is expected to wrap by August 31st, 2024.
