#Psalm 144:1
"CONFRONTING THE ENEMY'S TACTICS!"
Psalm 144:1, “Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my keen and firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight” (AMPC) The main tactic of the enemy is deception. “Deception” is defined as, “the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid; to trick; to cheat; to defraud; to be dishonest.” And that’s exactly who the enemy is, a deceiver, liar and the…

Hi, i feel better when i pray the rosary, but sometimes i have this insecurity (?) That makes me wonder if im doing too much, most people my age probably dont pray it as much and idk, i guess i just wanted to hear from someone that prays it more regularly that its good
I was actually going through the same thing last December asking myself, am I doing too much? A person who last year, who I kindly asked for spiritual direction, actually made fun of me for praying all the prayers that I did, but especially the Rosary. He tried to make fun, saying I cling to my Rosary beads trembling with fear of every little thing and that my prayers all the years of my life up were useless. Don’t listen to that little voice on your head that is trying to tell you otherwise, or anyone in person like that I had, because the truth is we can never do too much for God. God doesn’t need anything from us because He made us, but praying is in itself loving Him. When we pray the Rosary, we take our mind off of the world and instead meditate on the lives of Jesus Christ and His mother, Mary.
Do not be afraid to pray and do not be afraid to love the Rosary. Our Rosary looks like beads to us but to the evil one he sees a sword. Keep it close to your side like a knight and pray it whenever you’d like, wherever you’d like, and as many times as you’d like.
I highly recommend it. I even encourage you to try out doing it in different ways, alone in a whisper, aloud with family, praying it with Relevant Radio, checking out the videos offered by Word on Fire and EWTN (especially the ones of Mother Angelica and her nuns), pray it outside when you exercise, pray it in a group at church, go to a Rosary rally, pray it for others such as outside of an abortion clinic, etc.
Prayer is good. The Rosary is good! 🙏🏻💚☘️
Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.
- Psalm 144:1

The Wise Woman
1 The wise woman builds her house, But the woman of folly tears it down with her own hands. 2 He who walks in his uprightness fears Yahweh, But he who is devious in his ways despises Him. 3 In the mouth of the ignorant fool is a rod of lofty pride, But the lips of the wise will keep them. 4 Where no oxen are, the manger is clean, But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox. 5 A faithful witness will not lie, But a false witness breathes out lies. 6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, But knowledge is easy to one who has understanding. 7 Leave the presence of a fool, As you have not known lips of knowledge there. 8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, But the folly of fools is deceit. 9 Ignorant fools scoff at guilt, But among the upright there is favor. 10 The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not share its gladness.
11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed, But the tent of the upright will flourish. 12 There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. 13 Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, And the end of joy may be grief. 14 The one who turns back in his heart will be satisfied with his ways, But a good man will be satisfied with his. 15 The simple believes everything, But the prudent one discerns his steps.
16 A wise man fears and turns away from evil, But a fool gets angry and feels secure. 17 A quick-tempered man acts in folly, And a man of evil schemes is hated. 18 The simple inherit folly, But the prudent are crowned with knowledge. 19 The evil will bow down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous. 20 The poor is hated even by his neighbor, But those who love the rich are many. 21 He who despises his neighbor sins, But how blessed is he who is gracious to the poor. 22 Will they not wander in error who devise evil? But lovingkindness and truth will be to those who devise good.
23 In all painful labor there is profit, But mere words from the lips lead only to want. 24 The crown of the wise is their riches, But the folly of fools is folly. 25 A truthful witness delivers souls, But he who breathes out lies is deceitful. 26 In the fear of Yahweh there is strong security, And his children will have refuge. 27 The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, To turn aside from the snares of death. 28 In a multitude of people is a king’s splendor, But in the dearth of people is a prince’s ruin. 29 He who is slow to anger has great discernment, But he who is quick-tempered raises up folly. 30 A tranquil heart is life to the body, But jealousy is rottenness to the bones. 31 He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who is gracious to the needy honors Him. 32 The wicked is thrust down by his own evil, But the righteous takes refuge even in his death. 33 Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, But in the midst of fools it is merely made known. 34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people. 35 The king’s favor is toward a servant who acts insightfully, But his fury is toward him who acts shamefully. — Proverbs 14 | Legacy Standard Bible (LSB) Legacy Standard Bible Copyright ©2021 by The Lockman Foundation. I'd like to know more about ALL of your wips basically, but especially about "Teach My Hands to War", please? That is such an awesome title!!
Hey hey! Thanks so much for asking!!! 💜💜💜 WIP Ask Game here
I'm glad you like the title, I love it so much. Oddly enough it actually comes from a Bible verse, which is a very unusual source for me (an atheist) but there's all kinds of random stuff rattling around in my skull and that one just fit.
Psalms 144:1 Blessed be the Lord, my rock,  Who teacheth my hands to war, And my fingers to fight.
Anyway, this is the rarepair fic that I am being pretentiously mysterious about, partially because it's just so rare and weird I don't want to reveal it early and partially because I'm a little worried it's a nothingburger 🤣🤣
Suffice to say, the idea rose from a Discord discussion about clones in a no-Order 66 post-war situation; there are so many nice stories about their lives once they can choose for themselves and how happy they'll be. But I couldn't help but wonder what might happen to clones that didn't want to settle down or discover hidden passions or find happiness or whatever. Fighting is what they're good at, fighting is what they know. What if, for some of them, it's all they want to know?
So, the clone half of this rarepair sets off to find someone or something that can fulfill that need for him, and boy does he find it 😬 It ends up being two sons-of-bitches making each other worse (mostly) and making that everyone else's problem.
The below might end up in the story or it might just live as a character-vibes-exploration. I'm still churning through a lot for this story (like... the plot?) but I really want to get it out there someday soon-ish.
They forced him to retire. They gave him credits and opportunities and freedom with one hand and with the other they took away every last thing he actually wanted. No battalion, no command, no battles to win or objectives to reach. No fucking purpose.  All that was left behind was the itch under his skin, the ache burning through his veins, the endless need to fulfill his fucking birthright. [CLONE] hadn’t trained his whole life to farm or sell speeders or terraform some backwater shithole. He was made to fight. He was made for war.  But the galaxy had grown tired of war.
Thanks so much for playing!

"ARE YOU A GOOD SOLDIER?"
2 Timothy 2:1-4, “So you, my son, be strong (strengthened inwardly) in the grace (spiritual blessing) that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus. And the [instructions] which you have heard from me along with many witnesses, transmit and entrust [as a deposit] to reliable and faithful men who will be competent and qualified to teach others also.  Take [with me] your share of the…

Our sure and God-given weapons is The Word of God. As we consistently and prayerfully spend time with God in His Word, we will grow in faith and discernment ~ and it will also wash us and make us new. God’s Word provides protection for our minds like a helmet., and it arms us with truth like a belt wrapped around us ~ causing us to confidently stand firm. This belt holds a quiver full of promises that are like arrows that powerfully extinguish every fiery dart that the enemy will throw at us, as we take our thoughts captive as we replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of The Word. The Word also provides a shield of faith - because faith comes from hearing The Word - which places a divine breastplate across our chest ~ protecting our heart from sin and keeping us in righteousness as we hide The Word in our hearts. The Word enables us to stand in the shoes of the gospel of peace - because perfect peace comes to those who keep their eyes fixed on Him (Who is The Word.)
Every single piece of our armor mentioned in Ephesians chapter 6 is fully and completely provided by our sword, “which is The Word of God.” This is simply because He IS The Word! His blood, and His Spirit, and His Word ~ together ~ have given us everything we need for life and godliness ~ and everything we need to fight our battles. “And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these for war. The term "trains" here refers to He's walking us through a training exercise to fight the enemy much like a military training exercise. However, this is a spiritual war which cannot be fought with worldly ammunition ~ but know the enemy will try to distract you in a war of flesh - but only the weapon of His Word will ever be able to setus free, pull down spiritual strongholds m, and fight the principalities and powers of darkness in high places.
Our Father's goal is to bring us to the point where we have learned how ultimately trustworthy He is; so that we finally begin to automatically depend and lean 100% on Him as our natural reflex, and instinctive, reactive response... to literally e v e r y t h I n g..
The following are the verses that came to me as I was writing what was on my heart (if you are interested in further study) as well as the passages that inspired actually this post.
Ephesians 6:10-17 ~ John1:1 ~ John17.17 ~ John 14:6 ~ John 8:32 ~ 2 Timothy 3:16 ~ 1 Peter 2:2 ~ 2 Corinthians 10:5 ~ Hebrews 4:12 ~ Romans 10:17 ~ psalm 119:11 ~Isaiah 26:3 ~ 2 Corinthians 4:18 ~ Isaiah 50:7 ~ 2 Timothy 2:4-7 ~ 2 Timothy 2:15 ~ Isaiah 55:11 ~ Acts 17:11 ~ Deuteronomy 8:3 ~ James 1:21 ~ John 15:7 ~ John 16:13 ~ John 6:63 ~ John 7:38 ~ Matthew 4:4 ~ proverbs 30:5 ~ Romans 15:4 ~ 1 Corinthians 6:11 ~ Ephesians 5:25-27 ~ 1 John 5:6-13 ~ Psalm 144:1-6~ 2 Samuel 22:31-37 ~ Psalm 18:26-36

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save from wrath and make me pure.
Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.
Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, lest I die.
While I draw this fleeting breath,
When my eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown,
And behold Thee on Thy throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.
Augustus Toplady (1776) (ref. 1 Samuel 2:2, 2 Samuel 22:2, Psalm 62:6, Psalm 144:1, Hebrews 13:8)

Wednesday, Second Week in Ordinary Time.
Wednesday, Second Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: White: B (2))
(Readings for the feria (Wednesday))
(There is a choice today between the readings for the ferial day (Wednesday) and those for the memorial. The ferial readings are recommended unless pastoral reasons suggest otherwise)
First Reading 1 Samuel 17:32-33,37,40-51 David and Goliath.
David said to Saul, ‘Let no-one lose heart on his account; your servant will go and fight the Philistine.’ But Saul answered David, ‘You cannot go and fight the Philistine; you are only a boy and he has been a warrior from his youth.’
‘The Lord who rescued me from the claws of lion and bear’ David said ‘will rescue me from the power of this Philistine.’ Then Saul said to David, ‘Go, and the Lord be with you!’
He took his staff in his hand, picked five smooth stones from the river bed, put them in his shepherd’s bag, in his pouch, and with his sling in his hand he went to meet the Philistine. The Philistine, his shield-bearer in front of him, came nearer and nearer to David; and the Philistine looked at David, and what he saw filled him with scorn, because David was only a youth, a boy of fresh complexion and pleasant bearing. The Philistine said to him, ‘Am I a dog for you to come against me with sticks?’ And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. The Philistine said to David, ‘Come over here and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field.’ But David answered the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel that you have dared to insult. Today the Lord will deliver you into my hand and I shall kill you; I will cut off your head, and this very day I will give your dead body and the bodies of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that it is not by sword or by spear that the Lord gives the victory, for the Lord is lord of the battle and he will deliver you into our power.’
No sooner had the Philistine started forward to confront David than David left the line of battle and ran to meet the Philistine. Putting his hand in his bag, he took out a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead; the stone penetrated his forehead and he fell on his face to the ground. Thus David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone and struck the Philistine down and killed him. David had no sword in his hand. Then David ran and, standing over the Philistine, seized his sword and drew it from the scabbard, and with this he killed him, cutting off his head. The Philistines saw that their champion was dead, and took to flight.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 143(144):1-2,9-10
R/ Blessed be the Lord, my rock.
Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my arms for battle, who prepares my hands for war.
R/ Blessed be the Lord, my rock.
He is my love, my fortress; he is my stronghold, my saviour my shield, my place of refuge. He brings peoples under my rule.
R/ Blessed be the Lord, my rock.
To you, O God, will I sing a new song; I will play on the ten-stringed lute to you who give kings their victory, who set David your servant free.
R/ Blessed be the Lord, my rock.
Gospel Acclamation Hebrews 4:12
Alleluia, alleluia! The word of God is something alive and active: it can judge secret emotions and thoughts. Alleluia!
Or: cf. Matthew 4:23
Alleluia, alleluia! Jesus proclaimed the Good News of the kingdom and cured all kinds of sickness among the people. Alleluia!
Gospel Mark 3:1-6 Is it against the law on the sabbath day to save life?
Jesus went into a synagogue, and there was a man there who had a withered hand. And they were watching him to see if he would cure him on the sabbath day, hoping for something to use against him. He said to the man with the withered hand, ‘Stand up out in the middle!’ Then he said to them, ‘Is it against the law on the sabbath day to do good, or to do evil; to save life, or to kill?’ But they said nothing. Then, grieved to find them so obstinate, he looked angrily round at them, and said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ He stretched it out and his hand was better. The Pharisees went out and at once began to plot with the Herodians against him, discussing how to destroy him.
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Saint Antony, Abbot
(Liturgical Colour: White: B (2))
(Readings for the memorial)
(There is a choice today between the readings for the ferial day (Wednesday) and those for the memorial. The ferial readings are recommended unless pastoral reasons suggest otherwise)
First Reading Ephesians 6:10-13,18 Put on God's armour and resist the devil.
Grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power. Put God’s armour on so as to be able to resist the devil’s tactics. For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the Sovereignties and the Powers who originate the darkness in this world, the spiritual army of evil in the heavens. That is why you must rely on God’s armour, or you will not be able to put up any resistance when the worst happens, or have enough resources to hold your ground.
Pray all the time, asking for what you need, praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired of staying awake to pray for all the saints.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 15(16):1-2,5,7-8,11
R/ You are my inheritance, O Lord.
Preserve me, God, I take refuge in you. I say to the Lord: ‘You are my God.’ O Lord, it is you who are my portion and cup; it is you yourself who are my prize.
R/ You are my inheritance, O Lord.
I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel, who even at night directs my heart. I keep the Lord ever in my sight: since he is at my right hand, I shall stand firm.
R/ You are my inheritance, O Lord.
You will show me the path of life, the fullness of joy in your presence, at your right hand happiness for ever.
R/ You are my inheritance, O Lord.
Gospel Acclamation John 8:31-32
Alleluia, alleluia! If you make my word your home you will indeed be my disciples, and you will learn the truth, says the Lord. Alleluia!
Gospel Matthew 19:16-26 It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
There was a man who came to Jesus and asked, ‘Master, what good deed must I do to possess eternal life?’ Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you ask me about what is good? There is one alone who is good. But if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.’ He said, ‘Which?’ ‘These:’ Jesus replied ‘You must not kill. You must not commit adultery. You must not bring false witness. Honour your father and mother, and: you must love your neighbour as yourself.’ The young man said to him, ‘I have kept all these. What more do I need to do?’ Jesus said, ‘If you wish to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.’ But when the young man heard these words he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘I tell you solemnly, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Yes, I tell you again, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.’ When the disciples heard this they were astonished. ‘Who can be saved, then?’ they said. Jesus gazed at them. ‘For men’ he told them ‘this is impossible; for God everything is possible.’

The Wise Woman
1 Every wise woman buildeth her house, but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. 2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD, but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth Him. 3 The mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise shall preserve him. 4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase comes by the strength of the ox. 5 A faithful witness will not lie, but a false witness will utter lies. 6 A scorner seeketh wisdom and findeth it not, but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. 7 Go from the presence of a foolish man when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. 8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is to be deceived. 9 Fools mock at sin, but among the righteous there is favor. 10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness, and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown, but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. 13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, and the end of that mirth is heaviness. 14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. 15 The simple believeth every word, but the prudent man looketh well to his going. 16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil, but the fool rageth and is confident. 17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly, and a man of wicked devices is hated. 18 The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. 19 The evil bow before the good, the wicked at the gates of the righteous. 20 The poor is hated even by his own neighbor, but the rich hath many friends.
21 He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth, but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. 22 Do they not err that devise evil? But mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good. 23 In all labor there is profit, but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. 24 The crown of the wise is their riches, but the foolishness of fools is folly. 25 A truthful witness delivereth souls, but a deceitful witness speaketh lies. 26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence, and His children shall have a place of refuge. 27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life to depart from the snares of death. 28 In a multitude of people is the honor of the king, but the lack of people is the destruction of the prince. 29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding, but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. 30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh, but envy is the rottenness of the bones.
31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker, but he that honoreth Him hath mercy on the poor. 32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness, but the righteous hath hope in his death. 33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding, but that which is innermost in fools is made known. 34 Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. 35 The king's favor is toward a wise servant, but his wrath is against him that causeth shame. — Proverbs 14 | Third Millennium Bible (TMB) Third Millennium Bible, New Authorized Version, Copyright 1998 by Deuel Enterprises, Inc.
