Matt smiled, welcoming the gentle chatter of the students filling the halls as he made his way to his class. As much as he had loved summer, he had missed teaching.
"Good morning, professor Murdock." Flushed cheeks, quick heartbeat, breathy voice.
Without stopping walking, he gave the girl one of his charming smiles, probably aggravating her crush on him. "Good morning."
His attention was caught by a distinct smell of coffee and Foggy's cologne. His friend caught up with him after a couple of minutes, with two coffees in his hands.
"Is one of those for me?" he asked, foregoing greetings.
"Didn't you have one at home already, or did your husband finish the whole pot again?"
Matt couldn't help the grin that spread on his face at the mention of his husband. Hearing the word "husband" still made him all giddy. It was all very new. They had married during the summer.
"He did."
"Damn, that man worries me," Foggy commented, handing him a cup.
He took it and smiled gratefully, taking a small sip. He relished the bitter taste. He had always loved coffee, but now he did even more. It reminded him of the smell and taste of his lover.
"He seems fine, though. You should meet him before coffee in the morning. He is a zombie."
"Oh, I have seen him like that. That time he tripped on your cane. Remember?" Foggy mentioned, gesturing with his cup in hand. Luckily it was already half empty.
Matt nodded with a huge smile. He couldn't have forgotten the day they had met.
"Of course you do. Did you already make someone trip this year?"
Matt chuckled and shook his head.
"Yeah, no. That's probably for the better. He would be very upset if you made someone else literally fall in love with you the way you did with him."
Among the voices and the numerous footsteps, Matt heard some familiar ones. He sipped more coffee, a little quicker.
"He is coming, isn't he?" Foggy asked, noticing.
"Hey!" Peter's voice came before Matt could reply. They stopped and turned, waiting for him.
"Hey, Peter! Long time no see," Foggy greeted as if they hadn't seen each other the night before for drinks at Josie's.
"Hey Foggy!" he greeted gleefully. "Is that coffee?" he asked eyeing Matt's cup. The man sighed and handed him his half-full cup of coffee. Peter grinned. "Thanks, Matty."
Matt really couldn't be angry at him. Instead, a fond smile took over his features.
"Ready for this year, professor Murdock?" Foggy asked, interrupting the moment between the two lovebirds. They were still in their honeymoon phase, which was completely understandable, but it did make them insufferable sometimes. Foggy was happy his best friend had finally found his happiness with a good man, and he loved Peter, but he and Karen often had to be the third wheel and he hated it.
"Yeah," they both replied at the same time.
"I think he was asking me?" Peter said, unsure.
Matt cleared his voice. "Yeah, probably yes."
Foggy was grinning so wide the Cheshire cat would have been proud of him. "Oh, this is going to be so much fun."
Matt snorted and Peter shook his head amused.
"See you for lunch. Have a nice first day," Foggy said already walking away.
"See you, Foggy."
"You too."
Peter finished the last of the coffee and hummed satisfied.
Matt turned towards Peter. "You're going to have tachycardia one of these days if you keep drinking so much coffee," he pointed out as he always did when Peter drank too much coffee.
"Yeah, and you will come running from the other end of the campus." He winked, knowing Matt would be able to tell.
Matt smiled amused. "I'll make a point not to."
"You could never, Matty. You love me too much."
Matt snorted. "I plead the fifth."
"Like that is gonna change anything."
Matt grinned and reached for his watch. He touched the hands and braille numbers and tilted his head towards Peter.
"I think it's better if you go now, darling."
Peter looked at his watch. "Shit. Yeah. See you at lunch?"
"Sure."
Peter was already walking away when he turned without stopping walking. "Have a good day."
Matt smiled and nodded. "You too." He heard Peter's steps quicken and before they could fade away, he resumed walking towards his class.
Most of the students were already there when he walked into the room. The last of them rushed in after him.
"Please, close the door and take a seat."
He put his messenger bag down on the desk and waited for everyone to be seated.
"For those of you who don’t know me, I'm professor Murdock."
"Everyone knows you, professor."
Matt grinned at the voice of his most annoying student, whom he was very fond of. "Didn't you pass this course last year, Jack?"
"Yes, but I missed you too much during summer."
Matt rolled his eyes fondly behind the red lenses. "You're welcome to stay but no more flirting."
"It would be a lot less fun this way." He could hear the pout in the boy's voice.
"I'm sure it would be even less fun if my partner found out about you flirting with me," he warned, making the class laugh. It was an empty threat, he knew Peter wasn't jealous. He trusted Matt and had had a good laugh when he had told him about some of his students flirting with him. Peter's students flirted with their professor too, but Peter was always oblivious to all of it. Even Matt had had a hard time flirting with him, every signal of his interest seemed to fly over Peter's head.
"What? You have a partner that is not me?!" Jack asked, pretending to be heartbroken. The class laughed again.
"Sorry, buddy. Now, let's start."
He was halfway through the lesson when he stopped to ask if there was any question.
"Professor?" a girl shyly piped up.
He turned his head in her direction. "Yes?"
"I don't understand what human rights laws have to do with inorganic chemistry." Matt could sense the confusion coming from the other students, but he simply smiled.
"Ah... I'm afraid you are in the wrong class-" he started.
"So, this isn't inorganic chemistry?" another voice asked.
"No, this is the human rights class. You-" he tried to explain again.
"But on the schedule it says Murdock," another student interrupted. Matt heard them shifting some papers, looking for the one with the schedule.
A buzz started spreading among the students, all very confused by the situation. That was the moment when Matt understood what Foggy meant when he said it would be a lot of fun now that he and Peter were married and Peter had taken his surname.
"Please," he spoke again, and the chatter died down. "There is another professor Murdock, in the department of chemistry. Maybe you knew him as professor Parker?"
"You got married to Professor Parker during the summer?" Jack asked.
Matt heard twelve students get up and gather their things. "It's the building next to the university hall, the chemistry one, first floor," he offered them, with an apologetic smile as they headed out.
"Did you really marry Professor Parker?" a girl asked from the back of the class as the door closed behind the last of the stranded students with a thud.
"Uh... Yes?"
Some of the students cheered, some complimented him, and some seemed disappointed. Matt guessed it had something to do with the bet that had been going on for years now, since before he and Peter got together, among the students, and even some of the professors.
"Ugh... I thought it would take longer!" Cassie Lang commented.
"Sorry to disappoint, Cassie." He chuckled.
"You don't sound sorry," she grumbled.
"I'm not," he admitted grinning.
"We can't even be upset with you, look how happy you are!" Cassie's best friend pointed out.
"I hope you didn't lose much. But you should remember this lesson and quit betting."
A loud buzz rose after his words.
He lifted his hands, trying to quieten the class.
"Enough talking about me, let's go on with the lecture."
Before he could resume the explanation, there was a knock on the door.
"Yes?" He sighed.
The door opened and four students walked in. "I'm sorry, professor, we ended up in a chemistry class. I think there was a mistake on the schedule."
"Oh no, there is no mistake, welcome to our heartbreak era, my friend, the two hottest professors just got married," Jack said before Matt could. The class erupted in giggles.
Matt shook his head. "Don't worry. Please find a seat so we can go on."
He could hear Foggy and Peter talking about their morning from far away.
"Hey, Matt!" Foggy greeted him. "Peter was telling me all his students went to your class this morning."
"It wasn't all of them," Peter weakly protested.
He snorted and took a seat at the table with them. "Yeah. That was something."
Peter kissed his cheek. "I had some of yours too, did they get to class safe?"
"They managed. And I was informed we are the two hottest professors in this university."
Foggy almost choked on his sandwich. "What?!"
Peter chuckled, leaning into Matt's side. "And who won the bet?"
"No idea."
"Well, if I can't be the hottest professor on campus I will be at least the richest one."
"Is that fair?" Peter frowned. "You knew when we would get married. I don't think your bet counts, Foggy."
"Let him have this, he can't even be the hottest professor."

Hii!! How are you doing? I came here to ask if you could do a Instagram au with Kim Jennie x singer!fem reader, and Isabela Merced can be the face claim
Hiii! Could be better, actually, but anyway.
I'm really sorry, but I don't know Kim Jennie, i don't follow her or anything, so I can't do an Instagram au for her.
Thank you for the ask and never be afraid to ask for someone. I prefer not to write or make aus about people I don't know because I don't want to go ooc and I don't think that would be fair to them if they are real people.
