Seri was the one who gave Soushi recs on old Asian dramas. They’re talking about those dramas & promised to keep it secret. Until Kazuki found out via crossing.
Now you're speaking my language, anon.
Seri once recommended Soushi Hana Yori Dango and then he sought to watch every single remake known to man. He would also watch period dramas (especially those set in Japan) and then he'd make Kazuki sit down and watch with him so he could explain everything ("This is educational media! Really gives us a glimpse of the past!"

The Perfection of DEAD OR ALIVE
Because I love this opening more than any opening every I decided to make this post to illustrate why.
I mean, it gives us everyone we’ve ever met - dead or alive - showing that no one is every forgotten...the first sequence is so powerful and here is why:
Happy Kazuki (such a rare sight omg)
Sakura, Mamoru, Kenji, Kuramae (I’m guessing), Kouyo
Happy Soushi (even rarer holy crap! And that callback ugh!)
Toomi
Shouko (our angel) in a wonderful callback to better times
Ayano, Kiyomi, Youko, Chizuru
Poor baby Canon
Akira and Rina
Seri and Hiroto
Yumi and Ryo (get RoL out of my face, those poor kids!)
Yukie, Yumiko and Michio (gdi Yukie)
Even Kouzo, Fumihiko, Mizoguchi, Tamotsu and Grandma Nishio
And another wonderful callback--
--to when the kids basically got the whole plot rolling
DEAD OR ALIVE is an homage to the entire series, reminding us that no one is every forgotten and that the Peace they once had will forever be their goal. And it’s beautiful.
Bonus:
I’m always a sucker for remade scenes of old <3
