The TLDR is that the meltdown video: ramps up at 3:49, there is also this tumblr post by someone who was there about it and this news about it.
Tumblr media
Maylor/Haylor storytime with too much info
Matty Healy's parents are actors Tim Healy and Denise Welch, overseas 1D fans may know his mum from this Loose Women interview with 1D. His parents had a messy public divorce covered in Tabloids.
1999 - When his mum was featured on This is Your Life, in this clip, 10 year old Matty said he wanted to be "a popstar and top class musician" with his mum looking tense.
2002 - the 1975 was formed with school friends in Manchester, it will be 10 years before they have success.
2009 - 1975 met and was unsigned by every major label. Their manager formed an independent label and signed them for £20.
2010 - One Direction is formed on X-Factor with Harry, 5 years younger also from Cheshire, 30 minutes drive from Mattys hometown of Wilmslow, both near Manchester. 1D becomes a national sensation and sign a £1m record deal with a major label.
2011 - One Direction continues to grow with the X-Factor tour, records Up All Night and starts their own tour.
2012 - What Makes You Beautiful is #1 in 16 countries including the UK and US. Harry starts dating Taylor Swift and the world loses it's mind over them and the band.
2013, February - 1975 get their first top 20 song, Chocolate that reaches #19 (Teenage Kicks was on #6 in the same chart, on it's way down from #1).
2013, September 3 - Harry tweeted that he downloaded the self-titled 1975 album. Matty Healy told an interviewer that he went from 4k followers to 15k followers in 10 minutes. Matty said they became mates, he texted Harry to thank him. The 1975 covered What Makes You Beautiful:
youtube
All fab, or so it seems.
2014, February - Taylor finishes 1989, Harry and Taylor start dating again and seem to for the rest of the year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2014, March 20, fallout boy shares this photo of Matty Healy, fallout boy and 1d minus Harry to instagram captioned “London hangs.” I don’t know when the photo with Harry is from, the jacket is St Laurent 2014 and it first appeared on live journal June 2014. Harry wore the coat again in September.
2014, March - MH plays call or delete with Harry's BFF Nick Grimshaw and calls Niall and Harry, he says he has Niall’s number because he is writing a song for one direction and that he had never spoken to Harry before (but had his number and Harry recognised his voice and/or just would know Nick had the show on and who was on it.) MH asks to borrow £5k and Harry agrees. Harry probably knew he was on Nick Grimshaw.
2014, April - his mum says MH is writing a song for 1D and talks about Anne.
2014, May 8 - One Direction record Change Your Ticket in Fasano Hotel, the TV Special includes footage (2:12) of Julien and Niall figuring out the lyrics and melody in Rio De Janeiro. The band then toured
2014, May 24 - One Direction and the 1975 both play the Glasgow Big Weekend, though 1D fly in for just their show they are then in London.
2014, July - Anne tweets Denise with a throwback photo
At some point they play Change Your Ticket for Matty who Later said:
“They got me in and they said, ‘We really like your band. Would you write a song for us?’,” Matt revealed to Spin. “[But] they didn’t seem to be actually that interested. They just wanted to play me this song that they said was really, really inspired by us.", “Listen guys, fill your boots, the song doesn’t sound that much like ‘Girls’. But the guitar and the whole vibe of it is a complete lift, So take the guitars off and we’re good." “It would have been a bad 1975 song.”
2014 - October 27 - 1989 released. Taylor says to Rolling Stone that her publicist has said a relationship is not a good idea:
‘How long do we have on the clock — before something comes along and puts a wrench in it, or your publicist calls and says this isn’t a good idea?'” (bless you @cntfightmydemonsthyknowhowtoswim)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2014 - November 8 - Matty Healy wears a 1989 T-Shirt, Taylor likes a Tumblr post about it.
2014 - November 17 - FOUR comes out with Change Your Ticket including the 1975-esq guitar. In the Four Hangout Harry says "well done Tyler" (32:25) and Niall adds "your Boyfriends back", Liam adds "Your gonna get in trouble" Tyler is Taylor's name I n the Man video, the 1D band had rhyming or celebrity code names for themselves that they used in interviews (Harry = Susan Boyle etc)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2014 - November 19 - Harry, Taylor & Selena go to a 1975 concert together. This is often cited as the Maylor starting point, Harry was there and called her boyfriend by Niall 2 days before. Taylor posts a video of her, Selena and Harry is briefly seen. Video of Taylor and MH backstage.
2014 - December 2 - Harry and Taylor at Victoria's Secret After party and leave together in London. First time Style performed.
2014 - December 4 - Taylor at a 1975 concert in NYC.
2014 - December 5 - 1D in London, appeared on Graham Norton. Rumours Taylor dating Matty, he tweets they got his name wrong.
2014 - December 6 - Taylor has laryngitis at Jingle Bell Ball. Matty Healy does this on stage in Boston, crying and yelling at the audience:
youtube
8 December - Blind "The B- list celebrity offspring of two of the worst celebrity parents ever has been hooking up the past few weeks with the lead singer of the band that Taylor Swift loves. Apparently they sent Taylor a pic of themselves naked in bed together." (Ali Lohan (Dina and Michael)/Matty Healy “The 1975″)
2014 - December 9, after Twitter ran with the meltdown, coupled with Matty being linked to Taylor who the band knew to be with Harry. They go on more Four promo. One Direction was not getting on, Harry had broached the topic of the Hiatus a few weeks earlier. They appear on RTL in the Netherlands. Liam seems drunk and makes a beard joke at Harry.
24 December - Tabloid media about Ali Lohan/MH
And that's the end of the 2014, interaction, between Matty appearing in the 1989 t-shirt and the meltdown was 1 month, and Harry and Taylor were seen together in that time. Taylor did go to one 1975 concert without Harry, 2 days before Matty melted down.
13 December Taylor tweets asking the media to stop accusing her of dating her friends (kk & MH)
In this time Matty was also smoking heroin, from the New Yorker in May 2023:
In 2014, amid the early rush of fame and steady touring, Healy began smoking heroin, the only substance he found that could pull him down from the stratosphere. It was a secret, for a while; then the band staged an intervention. Healy resisted: he was the star, and the rest of them would have to get on board.
2015, November - Matty said to the Guardian:
On 6 December, onstage in Boston. “There was girl stuff,” he says. “There was family stuff. There was financial stuff. There was drug stuff. I remember hearing the crowd and having an identity crisis. I thought: ‘If you want to see a show, I’ll give you a fucking show. If you’ve come to see the jester drink himself into a slumber, I’ll give it to you.’ I felt like I’d become an idea as opposed to being a person.” At one point, a fan shouted, “I love you, Matty!” He’s ashamed of his response. “What did I say to the poor fucking girl? ‘You don’t have the right to love me. You don’t know me. I love you but you don’t get to love me.’ Jesus. Can you imagine your favourite band shouting that at you? What a dickhead. What a horrible thing to say to a kid who fucking does love me.”
2015 - January - Matty also does this interview where he says it was all fake that he dated Taylor and there is noone in the world he knows less than Harry Styles
youtube
2015 - February 26 - Taylor pictured hugging Nick Grimshaw, Harry’s BFF, next to Matty Healy at the 2015 Brit awards after party. Harry was in Australia, he and Taylor had broken Up and this is the night she met and seemed to immediately start dating Calvin Harris’s
Tumblr media
2015 - April - Matty Healy and sources close gives a lot of interviews saying he is angry about Change Your Ticket and that One Direction stole the 1975's sound.
Love Me
2015 - October - 1975 Love Me came out which is a rather direct Harry diss:
the lyrics reference Blank Space "Rumors Fly": "You've been reading about yourself on a plane".
"caught up in fashion, Karcrashian panache" a style reference and a diss to Kendall
music video where Matty makes out with the cardboard cutout of a 17 year old Harry Styles.
on stage he copies Harry's dancing in this song.
In the BTS Matty says "I just wanted to make a video that was about some kind of sexually confused rockstar type that who buys into his own nonsense really"
he also wore Chelsea looking boots and pointed them out in the BTS
Tumblr media
2016, March to Q Magazine, (and widely reported) Matty said:
“I feel like I’m not very good at relationships,” he’d said, and I wondered why. Healy explained the jumble of reasons – insecurity, self-obsession, a fear of misrepresentation. Was it also, I asked, a fear of losing himself? He nodded. “Absolutely. And the reason I mention that is because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift the first thing I would’ve [thought was] ‘Fucking hell I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know, FUCK. THAT.” Then he had added an afterthought: “That’s also a man thing, a de-masculinating, emasculating thing.”
I'm skipping ahead a few years, Matty brings Taylor and Harry up alot, like in random interviews with Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw etc. But the vibe is often separating him from success. I wonder if he is also reminding others he knows them.
2022 - Taylor, Joe and Matty are at the NME Awards:
Healy said: “I went over to her. I was like, ‘Taylor, we need to make the record.’ No, I didn’t. She said hello to every single person. Obviously it’s Taylor Swift so everyone was saying hello. “She was just stood behind me. I mean, I haven’t seen Taylor in years so it was actually a really nice room. But it, unfortunately, wasn’t the time for me to pitch my post-rock Joni Mitchell project to [her].”
Collaboration with Jack Antonoff
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2022 - 5 January - 14 February - he works with Jack Antonoff. The band did not work with Jack before 5 January 2022. On 5 January they were in Real World Studios (i.e. not Electric Lady with Jack) and the record was complete by 14 February 2022. It is an album made to be played live and Jack did not write lyrics, under 6 weeks is about right. There are rumours of a collab which Matty both says it is fake news he worked on Midnights and then that he did but it wasn't used. Taylor never acknowledged.
2022 - 27 March DM Story Jack had an argument with FKA Twigs who was dating Matty after the Oscars.
2022 - midnights comes out, no 1975 collab.
2023 - 12 January - Taylor performs anti-hero and The City at 1975 concert, multiple rumors Harry was also there: x, x, x
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2023 - 15 January - MH invites HS to perform, H declines. MH makes inappropriate comments accusing Harry of Queerbaiting.
2023 - 11 February blind item:
Tumblr media
2023 - March - Reps for Matty Healy's girlfriend Meredith says
“She did not see this coming at all. All the time Matty was in the studio with Taylor, she thought nothing of it. He’d spend the day in the studio and then come home to her. “Things were going well until around March 29 then, out of the blue, he stopped replying to messages and calls. “He just ghosted her and that was it. Then, four weeks later, he went public with Taylor.
2023 - March/April/May/June - Taylor touring the US. The 1975 touring Latin America in March, Asia and Australia in April and May, Europe in June. The only times they would have seen each other are the handful of times they were photographed.
2023 - 10 April - Taylor and Joe's separation press release. MH delete socials said:
"everything happens in eras. The 1975 is a very eras band. The era of me being a f***ing a***hole is coming to an end. […] I can’t perform off the stage any more.”
Tumblr media
2023 April 14 - MH cries on stage in I always wanna die, and puts his head in his hands during Love it if we make it in Sydney. Saying “You changed all the words on my set list to rude words,” he says, pointing off-stage, before admitting the culprit is “trying to cheer me up because I’ve been going through a bit”. Covered in news
2023 April 24 - MH introduces 'She's American' in Tokyo with: "When I picture it, there's like three places I picture people listening to it, there's Manchester, Pennsylvania, that’s a whole other thing don’t worry about that and Tokyo” 1975 was formed in Manchester. Matty and Harry are from nearby Wilmslow or Cheshire respectively.
2023 - May 3 - TS & MH mouth "this is about you, you know who you are. I love you" on stage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2023 5 May - MH at Eras tour, Sparks Fly and Teardrops on my guitar. He joined Phoebe Bridges on stage.
2023 6 May - OOTW/Fifteen. MH attends again
2023 11 May - MH and Taylor hold hands in NY
2023 12 May - Gold Rush & CBBH, Philli. MH on stage at Eras in skeleton costume. MH and Taylor at group dinner hold hands.
2023 13 May - TS This Love, no intro/Forever and Always (Philli) MH attends eras and seen with Scott Swift.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2023 15 May - Taylor leaving Electric Lady with MH
2023 24 May - People reports Taylor kissed MH at Zero bond, no photos of them arriving, no photos allowed in club. Last time reported to be seen together. 50 days since his ex said they were good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2023 27 May - during the Radio 1 Big Weekend at Glasglow, a broadcast event, Matty Healy acted unusually and said "Try romanticising your life for a job, see how you like it". This section is cut from the BBC's official video of About You. Harry was also in Scotland in Edinburgh.
Tumblr media
2023 June 5 - MH break up reported by TMZ later confirmed no longer speaking
2023 August 16 - MH back with the girl he dumped in March for …. That.
2024 February 15 - MH said on stage “Do not come for me. Trust me. You know who I’m talking to. Honestly, you know who you are. I’m as mental as I seem. I have the receipts. Don’t f**k with me. Trust me.”
I have no idea what happened in 2023, but I think the blind is correct.

Connor and Tim: They’ve Got a Dad Thing
With the DC Pride story, I’m having soft thoughts about Tim Drake and Connor Hawke talking about their feelings, identities and dads together, which is something they do remarkably often for two characters who are friends but have never been on the same team or family. Also Tim brings up Connor not being able to drive. A lot.
Going through a bunch of their appearances:
Green Arrow #105: The first meeting! Connor and Tim are chasing after Connor's stepfather, who has committed CRIMEZ buying weapons in Gotham. They take the time to discuss such important issues as ‘not being the first person to have their identity’, legacies, Tim’s love for cars, Connor’s inability to drive, and Lady Shiva.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Connor stays in town, leading to their next team up in Robin #25. Tim’s chasing down a DIFFERENT group of gunrunners after one of his classmates brought a gun to school. The dad angle here is actually Tim sending Jack to talk to his classmate’s dad about bringing a gun to school. There isn’t nearly as much fun banter between Connor and Tim here, but they still get to spend some time appreciating each other’s martial art skills.
Also notably Tim emotes quite a bit to Connor (and also Steph) about how he feels about his classmate getting shot (due to bringing the gun to school) and how fighting for revenge feels (it’s not something Tim enjoys).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next team up is Batman Chronicles #7! Connor shows up to talk to Tim about Ollie and what it’s like trying to live up to a legend, and Tim tells him a story of a Bruce & Ollie team up. They bond over being legacies for Batman and Green Arrow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next time Connor and Tim team up is my all time favourite, Brotherhood of the Fist. It happens following Cataclysm but before No Man’s Land. Tim and Connor get a full crossover together! (Ok Bruce and Dick and Eddie Fyers are also there). Everyone is having problems with the Monkey Fist cult, who are busy having a martial arts competition while taking down various martial arts masters.
Tim and Connor once again get the chance to talk about dads (and also the fact Connor STILL doesn’t have his licence). This time it’s discussing whether Batman is Tim’s dad. He’s not! Connor’s still feeling like he has to live up to Ollie’s legacy! Tim empathises and tells him Batman approves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim’s also a martial artist fanboy.
Tumblr media
Eventually Connor ends up having to fight Lady Shiva! Tim saves Connor’s life by using his life debt with Shiva, and everyone tells Connor how good he was keeping up. (Nobody acknowledges Tim HAS that life debt due to managing to kill Shiva by accident a few months ago, because Tim’s fight record against her is full of ‘Tim wins due to shenanigans’)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I love this crossover so much, folks)
Robin #78-79: Connor drops into Gotham again, because all of Tim’s classmates at Brentwood have something weird going on. This time they’re taking down a demon! Tragically they’re too busy running away from the demon to have any good conversations about their dads this time, but Tim DOES get some jokes in about the car.
Tumblr media
(Eddie Fyers does not appreciate this and gives as good as he gets, bringing up the only mention of a dad).
Tumblr media
Batgirl #30-32. Connor and Eddie show up to investigate the murder of some rich folk who belong to a specific secret society. A member of this club is Jack Drake. Amazingly, Connor and Tim get to talk about dads even while they’re in Cass’ book. Connor and Eddie kidnap Jack Drake and Eddie pretends to be him at an awards ceremony to save his life. This is very funny as Dana, Tim and Steph are in the audience and Tim at least recognises Eddie on sight. Eddie then gets kidnapped by the assassins.
Tumblr media
Once Tim and Steph regroup and meet up with Connor and Cass, Tim still has time to tease Connor about being unable to drive and take control of the vehicle. Again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The group tracks down the van that Eddie was kidnapped in, leading to Tim very awkwardly trying to explain how he knows who Jack Drake is.
Tumblr media
Identity Crisis #6. Now this one is not so much a Connor and Tim team up so much as a very important moment on the topic of Connor, Tim and their feelings about dads. (I will never not be annoyed that Ollie doesn’t show the paper to Connor, given that Connor knows about Jack Drake, even if he doesn’t know that Tim is Tim)
Tumblr media
This is an important part of the Connor and Tim relationship, dammit, even if neither of them realise this moment happened.
Unfortunately after this point the Bad Times start for both Connor and Tim for a while (several continuities of a while). Not so much time hanging out together talking about what being a legacy means to them and what’s in a father.
But they’re both FINALLY back in continuity, themselves, and in the same place. So what did they do together this week? They met up, talked about coming out, their dads, and their feelings. (No cars this time, though).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damian thinks they’re joking about sitting about talking about their feelings. They absolutely are not.

I’m like, bombarding you now and I’m sorry- but I have so many thoughts. 👁️👁️
Like for instance- how much would Sorry, Its Locked have changed if Jay and Alex’s roles were swapped? Alex, who stayed relatively sane(at first), though still denied any feelings Jay(he’s straight, its just smex, shut up). And Jay, who gets so angry and hurt and harbors so much resentment for Alex over the whole thing that The Operator latches onto him instead. Jay who spirals and starts killing their friends(and probably Amy too out of sheer jealousy and resentment), who up and vanishes for years and Alex never knows why(was the smex that bad?).
Power bottom Jay who really doesn’t want to kill Alex, he likes him too much(maybe he’s a little obsessed now, just a bit), so every time they run into each other and Alex starts to question him Jay shoves him down onto the nearest surface and keeps him going till he’s so spent he can’t think straight. And this cycle keeps going until both of them hate each other so badly its angry and its hateful on sight(but they still can’t get rid of those feelings god damn it-).
Alex who teams up with Tim or with Brian when he realizes Jay is too far gone? Who finally accepts that maybe he is a little gay when things start happening between them. Jay, who gets so jealous and angry and believes there’s no longer any other way to spare Alex(if he won’t be with Jay then he can’t keep him safe, the only option left is to put him in the ground).
Oh My God
The way i wanna write this so bad now lmfao. It'd take so long but oh my god fucking IMAGINE IT holy shit. im going to go feral over this i fear.
This got really long lmfao
like... 1.8K words long 💀💀💀
Anyway, i love this idea so much so enjoy whatever tf this is under the thingy-ma-bob
Amy still dying but this time its because of Jay's jealously rather than Alex's hopeless final attempt to save her from his own fate is such a fun iea.
Honestly, i feel like Jay's motivations to kill (which have obviously been twisted by the Operator and all that, he wouldn't kill without it twisting him) would be very different to Alex's. At least in Sorry It's Locked. Because in S,IL Alex's motivations are purely to save people, it's just that the operator twisted him until he thinks killing is the only way to save people, he thinks him killing them is going against what it wasn't, when that's still what the Operator wants, as long as more people get exposed to the sickness along the way. Whereas the S,IL version of Jay probably wouldn't kill out of a twisted and misguided kindness, he'd still think he was doing the right thing, but I honestly think the Operator would have an easier time getting him to kill.
to me Alex is an extremely caring and selfless person. Like, sure he's a bit of a nob and his student film was shit and he just couldn't recognise that because he was pretentious and a film student, but like, idk in my head before the Operator got to him he was the sweetest person, hence how he managed to pull Amy lol. The Operator had to convince him that killing was the way to save people in order to get him to do what it wanted. Whereas with Jay i think he'd have a much easier time killing for selfish reasons, and honestly i feel like he'd still film like he does as the protagonist of MH. I think the Operator would convince him he'd been wronged by the people he was killing and that it was righteous revenge or justice for himself or something like that? You know?
He'd think he was doing the right think in the sense of his own sense of justice, rather than doing the right thing to save the other people exposed to the Operator sickness. And because of his hyperfixation on Alex, it'd definitely go in the same direction of him not wanting to kill Alex, because Alex hasn't wronged him, the world around them has wronged him by making Alex think they needed to hide that they were sleeping together. It was the world's homophobia that caused Alex to refuse to accept that he was queer in any way. And obviously if Jay doesn't blame Alex, it'd be really difficult for the Operator to convince him to kill him, because Jay's actions are based on getting the justice that he thinks he deserves.
He kills Seth and Sarah and tries to kill Brian and Tim because he believes that they weren't supportive enough to make Alex feel comfortable to come out or whatever. Right? But With the Operator going down that route to get him to kill, because that's the easiest route to take, it creates a bit of a problem for itself in the future if it wants Jay to kill Alex eventually. But i don't think it actually thinks. As in like, i don't think it is making any conscious decisions about what it does, its like that fungus that grows inside ants and takes over their nervous systems and makes them climb up high so it can spread its spores. I don't think it's a thinking creature, it just does what it does.
Anyway, i think in Alex's place, with justice as his motivation, Jay would kill more people, and i think he'd make an example of them. He'd still film everything because of the memory loss the Operator causes, but he'd use those videos to kind of, like, show off what happens if you're a homophobe. Or if he thinks you are one. Idk if that makes sense. And idk magic operator powers stop anyone thinking the videos are real, just like with the fact that we see Alex kill tunnel guy in the videos, but no one else in universe actually thinks they just witnessed a murder recorded and put on youtube.
I think with Jay in Alex's role, in Sorry It's Locked they'd probably have more than just one encounter where they have sex. Like, for Alex in actual S,IL that happens mostly just kind of impulsively because like, Jay is coming onto him and yeah, he does kind of miss what they used to have, he still felt shit about having to kill Amy so wanted to distract himself from that, and then afterwards he was like SHIT I NEED TO DRIVE HIM AWAY TO TRY AND SAVE HIM WITHOUT KILLING HIM. or something like that. Whereas with Jay in Alex's place I think he'd purposefully try to tempt Alex closer and closer to him, to try and get him on his side, to become like partners in crime. You know? Everything revolves around Alex for him, so of course he wants to keep him close and under his command.
I think Jay would still be the sub in their dynamic in this, but I think he'd be a bit more like he is in chapter two of If It Ain't Broken (which is up by the way, cheeky lil self promo lol). Because subs can be pushy and the one in charge of scenes in every way other than what they actually do within the scenes themselves. Does that make sense lol? Just because they're being submissive within a scene doesn't mean they are submissive in every aspect of their relationships. Y'know?
And I think at first Alex would be like, fine with it, like, he misses what they had, and he misses Amy (he doesn't know Jay killed her, all he saw was the Operator and someone who he couldn't actually make out and then everything goes blank and he wakes up somewhere else distraught knowing she's dead or something like that) so of course if Jay is offering comfort he's going to take it. He'd still be like, not accepting that he's queer himself and that he genuinely likes Jay, like you said. I think Alex wouldn't find out Jay's the 'villain' until quite a bit later than Jay found out that Alex was the 'villain' because Alex wasn't too concerned about hiding what he was doing because he thought he was saving people (except maybe tunnel guy, that seemed like a weird fear response lol)
ANYWAY, in this like, reversed Sorry It's Locked au i think Alex would take longer to find out Jay was the one killing people, because Jay would be more carefuly about hiding that it's him. He'd film all the murders and shit, but i fell like the main mystery would be who is killing, rather than like, who's behind the hoodie mask. (i know that's probably not like the main mystery, but it is to me lol)
Jay doesn't want Alex to be scared of him, and he's aware enough to know that knowing he's killing people would scare Alex off. The only things he really sees the way they are are things directly related to Alex, and he knows Alex will be scared of him/hate him if he finds out Jay's the one who killed Amy.
And (jesus this is long i'm so sorry)
Jay seeing things mostly as they are when it comes to Alex directly would mean that he'd see when things start to change with how Alex treats him when they sleep together. Aka Alex not wanting to do it as much because he's spending time with Tim and/or Brian and they're showing him what it's like to be in a healthy relationship (they let him still say it's just sex and nothing else, because that's how he feels most comfortable/safe/secure in himself, but they still make sure it's a healthy relationship while also trying to help him feel comfortable enough in himself to recognise that he's queer. I guess a bit like how Tim's going to try and help Jay come to terms with his gender identity in like, the actualy version of S,IL i'm writing, yknow?)
Anyway, Alex kinda drawing back from Jay and insisting on asking him questions and getting answers, rather than just letting Jay shove him onto the floor, or pull him in by his collar, or whatever so he can distract him with sex. Alex doing that would terrify him. Because his entire motivation is based around like, 'getting' Alex? Like, he's trying to make it so Alex feels safe to come out? Kinda? I don't know. He want's Alex to himself and Alex pulling away and trying to like, actually get answers rather than them just having sex would be the exact opposite of what he wants?
I think when Jay finds out Alex is in an actual relationship with Tim and/or Brian (whoever he teams up with, maybe both of them honestly) that's when the Operator kinda convinces him to kill Alex as well? Like, he's so angry and jealous and like, almost betrayed? that he goes from trying to have Alex to himself to just wanting to hurt Tim and Brian any way he can? Maybe? i don't know. Like, he wants to take Alex from them any way he can, and if he can't do that in a relationship sense then he'll have to do it physically.
I think first he'd try to like, capture Alex and keep him prisoner maybe? He wouldn't think of it like that, he'd convince himself Tim and Brian were bad for Alex in some way and that he's saving him, but eventually he'd just want to hurt Tim and Brian really fucking badly for 'what they did to Alex' (showed him a healthy relationship and made it so he decided that, no, he doesn't wanna keep doing this with Jay, actually). And that would be how it kinda ended? Like, I think it'd be a kinda murder suicide thing? Maybe? I don't know I'm very much making this up as i go along surprisingly (not surprisingly) lmao
I think Jay would kill Alex in front of Tim and Brian (with a knife, i think his weapon of choice is still a knife, and I think if anyone has a gun it's Brian but he's incredibly hesitant about ever using it), and then he'd turn the knife on himself. It'd be, like, to Jay it'd be that he and Alex would be together in death, and Tim and Brian would be left with only each other and they wouldn't get to have Alex?
does that make sense?
Then Tim and Brian have to navigate life after that, 1. navigate the revelation that it was Jay all along killing people (Jay was the mystery masked man rather than hoodie) and 2. that Jay took Alex from them even after they worked so hard to help Alex come to terms with his sexuality and everything?
maybe?

Late Night Check In
Pairing: Platonic Dick Grayson and Jason Todd with an appearance from Bruce
Warnings: mentions of death, weapons
Word Count: 2096
A/N: Here’s my first platonic batfam fic! I’m using Dick and Jason because they’re the characters I know best, but I’ll hopefully be able to start adding more characters the more of these I write. This doesn’t have anything to do with Titans, I just couldn’t find a better gif! Anyway, I hope you like it!

If there was one thing Dick Grayson hated more than anything, it was fear toxin. Nothing could prepare you for seeing your nightmares so clearly and the way it lingered afterwards was one of the worst feelings. This time Dick had managed to weather two nightmare before he felt the need to check on his family members.
Bruce, Alfred, Damian, Tim and Cass were all fast asleep in their bedrooms, none of them even stirring as he poked his head in to check. A quick call to Babs confirmed that she was okay and Steph was sleeping soundly at the clocktower, even if Babs did threaten to dye his suit bright pink if he called her that early again.
But it was worth it to know all his family members were safe. All of them apart from Jason.
Dick was mildly ashamed to admit that he knew Jason’s favoured safehouse because he’d followed his no-longer-so-little brother home at the end of patrol on more than one occasion. But it wasn’t like Jason had given him any other choice and he knew he wasn’t the only Bat to do so. He knew Jason was likely to have a better reaction to Dick knowing where he lived rather than Bruce.
So, Dick dressed in dark clothes and took one of the older bikes from the garage to make his way across the city to the end of crime alley. He stopped two blocks away from Jason’s building to reduce the chance of being spotted by any cameras that would alert Babs or Jason to what he was doing. He wasn’t planning on staying too long, he only needed to set eyes on Jason to make sure he was okay, but he still stashed his bike behind a dumpster and made sure it was hidden behind a pile of trash bags. Crime alley might have improved slightly since Bruce caught Jason trying to jack the tires off the Batmobile, but Dick wasn’t in a hurry to end up in a similar position.
He made sure no one was watching before he jumped up onto the dumpster and pulled himself up onto the fire escape. He tried to be as quiet as possible on the rusted metal as he climbed up onto the roof. From there it was no issue at all to jump across the roofs to Jason’s building.
It occurred to him halfway there that he had no idea what he was going to do if Jason had decided to crash in one of his other safe houses for the night. He supposed he could just check them all, but he really didn’t want it to come to that.
He was as quiet as possible again as he descended on the fire escape to Jason’s floor. But he didn’t need to be because as soon as he hit the bottom step of Jason’s floor, the window slid up and the man in question slid out onto the landing.
Blue-green eyes immediately locked onto Dick and Jason’s hand jerked down to what Dick assumed was a hidden weapon, only aborting as Jason recognised him.
“What the fuck, Dick?”
Dick honestly didn’t know how to respond.
Jason huffed and lit a cigarette before leaning against the railing directly across from the stairs. He looked annoyed and Dick would have believed it if he didn’t see the slightest shake in Jason’s hand as he raised the cigarette to his lips.
“You got hit.” Dick stated, finally stepping down onto the landing outside the window and checking Jason over in the light streaming through. “You didn’t tell anyone.”
Jason shrugged and took another drag. “I’m fine.”
“We have a protocol, Jaybird.” Dick said, flittering nervously; his body needing to move, to make sure his brother was okay, but being unable to touch Jason in case he bolted.
“There was a crack in my helmet. I barely breathed any in, definitely not enough for an antidote. I just feel jittery.” Jason narrowed his eyes at Dick’s movement. “Apparently exactly like you. Please tell me you don’t still feel the need to compulsively check each family member after getting dosed?”
Dick shrugged and buried his hands in his hoodie pocket. If anything his anxiety surrounding family had only got worse after Jason’s death because not only was he not there when his little brother needed him, coming back to a voicemail where Jason practically begged for his help, but no one told him his brother was dead for a month.
Jason sighed and stubbed out his cigarette on the wall before dropping the butt into a glass he kept for that purpose on his window ledge. “You hungry? I made cookies.”
“The peanut butter ones?” Dick asked hopefully. It had been one of the only recipes Jason could remember making with his mom because it had like four ingredients and took minimal effort. They’d made them together the first time Jason showed up at his front door after a fight with Bruce.
“Of course.” Jason scoffed and climbed back through his window.
Dick hesitated before following him and closing the window once he was through. One glance around the room confirmed that this was Jason’s favoured safehouse; the bookshelf in the corner was almost overflowing, there was a large, fluffy blanket draped over the back of the sofa, and there were a few framed photos dotted around. The photo on the side table drew his eye and he picked it up, finding the faces of the original titans staring back at him. Him and Jason were in the middle, his arm around the younger boy as he beamed at the camera and Jason gave a nervous smile. He’d spent the whole weekend practically glued to Dick’s side, still feeling out of place outside of Gotham.
(Dick told himself the tears in his eyes were an after effect of the fear toxin.)
He took a deep breath to centre himself and put the photo back before walking into the kitchen to find Jason using a spatula to transfer the cookies to a plate. Dick went to grab one and Jason smacked his hand away, muttering about letting them cool and Dick relented, watching Jason tidy the kitchen with a small smile on his face.
“So, everyone else get out unscathed?” Jason asked, shooting Dick a look out of the corner of his eye.
Dick nodded. “Everyone’s fine, sleeping soundly.”
“That’s good.” Jason said, finishing up before grabbing the plate of cookies and walking back into his living room.
Dick followed him and took the unspoken invitation to drop down next to Jason on the sofa. Jason put the cookies on the coffee table and started chewing on one as he started flicking through TV channels. Dick curled his legs up beneath him as he reached out and grabbed a cookie. They were just as good as he remembered and he wondered if he’d be able to convince Jason to start hanging out more if he reminded him what a terrible cook he was and asked for lessons.
Jason settled on a random cooking show, clearly avoiding anything with a laugh track. Dick buried further back into the sofa, content now he knew everyone was okay and he wasn’t alone. Jason pulled the blanket off the back of the sofa and wordlessly offered Dick half. Dick gladly swaddled himself as much as he could without ripping it away from Jason, and they both settled down to watch a woman show them how to joint a whole chicken.
***
“You know, at least Dickhead waited to be invited in.”
“I’m sorry, I just wanted-”
“To ruin my morning and make me burn another safehouse.”
“No, Jason-”
“I mean, you couldn’t have at least knocked before picking my lock?”
Dick groaned as the argument pulled him out of the best sleep he’d had in weeks. “’m trying to sleep.”
“This is your fault.” Jason said viciously to who Dick was assuming was Bruce.
Bruce sighed deeply, something he seemed to do every time he was around Jason these days. Dick finally forced his eyes open to see his adopted dad standing in front of Jason’s TV, which was still playing cooking shows, wearing non-descript dark clothes and pinching the bridge of his nose.
Dick it turned out had managed to fall asleep on a cushion in Jason’s lap, and he tried to push down the emotion threatening to swell in his chest. Instead, he turned onto his back and looked up at his brother. Jason looked more well rested than he had the night before as well, so Dick took that as a win. But he also looked extremely pissed about the fact that Bruce had apparently barged in without an invite.
“What’re you doing here?” He turned his attention back to Bruce. Jason snorted and shot Bruce a pointed look that clearly said, see he agrees with me.
“I- Well-” Bruce sighed again. “Every time you’ve been hit with fear toxin, you’ve always checked on each member of the family at least three times throughout the night. You only checked in once last night and then you were missing when we all got up.”
“So you decided to break into Jason’s apartment?” Dick asked, sitting up and cracking both of his shoulders before looking back at Bruce.
“I tried calling, you didn’t answer. So I called Babs and she said you’d checked in just after three AM but she hadn’t heard from you since. She tracked you here.” Bruce explained.
“Still doesn’t explain why you completely bypassed knocking on my door to breaking and entering.” Jason said, and for the first time Dick noticed the gun resting on the sofa on the other side of Jason.
Bruce ran a hand over his face. “I don’t have a good answer for you.”
Jason rolled his eyes and stood up from the sofa. “Right. Well, now we’ve established everyone is still alive,” Jason definitely missed the way both Dick and Bruce winced. “you can both leave me be so I can find somewhere else to live.”
Dick wasn’t ashamed of the look he sent Bruce because Jason had been opening up to him, he’d let him spend the night and hadn’t shoved him off when Dick had apparently decided to use him as a pillow. But now he was going to run again, and he was going to be even more guarded with his safe houses, and Dick didn’t want to lose the ground he’d managed to gain.
Bruce frowned and glanced between the two of them. “Jason, you don’t have to move. I won’t put this in the system, it will stay between me, Dick and Babs, the others won’t know. And I promise they’ll be no more unannounced visits.”
Jason froze halfway between the sofa and the kitchen and turned to look at Bruce like he was expecting the man to have grown two heads.
“I promise. This-this is clearly not just a safe house and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice that because of me.” Bruce said, more sincere than Dick had heard him sound in a long time.
Jason seemed to weigh the options. “Fine, still doesn’t mean I want you in my living room.”
Bruce nodded with a small smile before turning to Dick. “You coming home?”
“I’ll follow you in a bit, my bikes not far from here.” Dick stood and stretched out his sore muscles. Bruce nodded and looked at Jason again, who pointedly avoided his eyes, before turning and leaving out the front door. He turned back to Jason. “You okay?”
“You mean other than the fact that I nearly shot him when he came in through the door?” Jason snorted and continued into the kitchen.
Dick followed him, well aware that he needed to be careful with what he said next so Jason wouldn’t redirect his anger. “You know, Alfred still makes a full English after we have a run in with Scarecrow.”
Jason hummed as he pulled two mugs and tea bags out of his cupboards.
“I’m sure he wouldn’t mind fixing an extra plate. And if you didn’t want to see Bruce, I’m pretty sure Alfred would make him eat in his study if it meant being able to see you.” Dick tried.
Jason sighed. “If I come with you, will you leave me alone after?”
Dick couldn’t keep the smile off his face. “I’ll leave you alone for a week, but no promises after that.”
“Fine.”
Dick took the win and couldn’t help but hope things were starting to get better between them all.

I would like to introduce you all to my clone OC squad, the 380th!
I hope you like them!
This is going go be a long post so please bare with me! I would appreciate it if you looked through everything 💕
Trigger warnings -Mention of suicide attempts [ Mentioned in Bob's section and Kirk's section ]
Click on the clones' names to see more pictures of them :D
A 💜 emoji means next to their name means they have a post about them
Tumblr media
Who are the 380th?
The 380th is a subdivision of the 212th legion, led by General Kenobi and Marshal Commander Cody. Although Kenobi holds the rank of General, the day-to-day operations are primarily overseen by Commander Cody, ARC Commander Bob, and Captain Tim. The legion is referred to as 'The Ravens' as a tribute to their Mandalorian comrade, Paxel Tassia, who joined their ranks. This nickname serves to assist Paxel in coming to terms with her past and embracing her new path. Known for their lively interactions and knack for accomplishing tasks in the most chaotic manner imaginable, the group shares similarities with the renowned 501st.
In order to prevent further mayhem, the Jedi Council has placed restrictions on the 380th's collaboration with the 501st. The Council fears that the combination of these two units' unruliness would only perpetuate the chaos, a concern amplified by ARC Trooper Fives and Hardcase; this was also argued by Anakin, who was immediately shut down after the argument was made about him trying to recruit Captain Tim three months ago.
The colours of the 380th is primarily consisting of, Yellow/Orange, Pink/Purple, White and Grey. The clones based their colours of Commander Cody and their Mandalorian friend who was known for her bright pink armour, combined, they created a unique design which would make them recognisable among the clones who had a single colour scheme. The White and Grey were additional colours added by Clone Sergeant Silver who had made the changes overnight, but not wanting to remove the grey from the armour, the 380th kept it.
Oh also, the 380th fucking love watermelon. If you want to befriend them, give them watermelon. Like seriously, they go feral for that shit. It’s gotten so bad that Cody has to avoid planets that have that fucking fruit and even lure them to other places with watermelon as said bait.
The clones of the 380th
You all know who Cody is so lets kick it off!
💜 ARC Commander Bob - CC 80085-1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As much as Cody hates to admit it, Bob is the official 2nd-in-Command whenever Obi-Wan isn’t around. He is the most playful one out of the 380th, often seen as energetic and selfless. Bob is always willing to greet and hug new people, sometimes without warning.
He enrolled in the ARC Trooper program a year before Fives and Echo, which enabled him to be their ARC Commander when they first joined. Some suspect that’s where the two troopers got their chaotic nature from. Despite his chaos, he is a good leader who cares for his troops, always giving them something to smile about when times get tough.
When he was a cadet, he was teased for his CT designation number, being called ‘Boobs’ constantly, and while at first it annoyed him, over time he grew to accept the nickname, soon finding the fun in it.  He sees Cody as a strong and capable leader, looking up to him in many ways.  Despite their differences, they are great friends and often annoy each other with simple jokes and pranks.
There was one time he was asked to deliver some information to the clone base on Coruscant. Cody had conveniently forgotten to tell Bob about the change of location, so he sent him on a massive errand run, lasting a good few hours before he found the base. Needless to say he doesn’t run errands for Cody anymore.
He is insanely protective of his brothers and anybody he considers as a close friend, going as far as putting himself in danger to protect the ones he loves. Whenever anybody is feeling down or needs any support, he is the first one to their side and will not leave them until their mood improves. This was the case when Cherry was murdered by a Jedi and Chase was listed as a fugitive, but also during the time when Kirk struggled with his mental health and attempted suicide. He gave him the proper support and assisted in Kirk’s healing from the experience.
Captain Tim - CT-84923
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike other captains in the GAR, Tim is seen as a stern and strict leader, following the footsteps and influence of Marshall Commander Cody He is one of the most resourceful clones in the 380th; only when a plan goes to shit. He is usually seen as sarcastic and serious, having the mentality that things must be done exactly as ordered.  But despite the orders, he usually ends up following the lead of his men—much to his dismay.
He is insanely protective over the 380th. He can and will bully his brothers for fun, but the moment someone else lays a hand on them, he will be the first one to stand up for them. Tim is the embodiment of the “organised chaos;” he is the organised and his brothers are the chaos.  Whenever something goes wrong, he will take the blame for it in hopes it’ll extend time to fix the problem.
Tim understands his men and their strengths and uses them to the best as his ability on missions. Like Bits, he is analytic and quick on his feet, able to compromise when he can. Tim is also close friends with Rex, Wolffe, Cody and Fox, wanting to be as good as a leader to them; and he may have taken a few pointers from Rex on how to deal with chaotic clones.
Whenever he is off duty, he is catching up on work or taking some alone time so he can regroup and gather his thoughts. He is a firm believer in getting a problem resolved as soon as possible rather than letting it fester and get worse.
Clone Medic Kirk - CT - 44431
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kirk, the dedicated medic of the 380th, possesses not only his invaluable medical skills but also a talent for photography. Amongst the clones, he is known as the "War Photographer," assigned by the Jedi to capture crucial media pictures and document significant incidents on the battlefield. This is also so they could prevent future incidents. While most of Kirk's photographs focus on the less graphic aspects of war, there are some that depict the harsh reality that is not suitable for the faint of heart.
These photos also require him to capture haunting images of fallen comrades. The photos take a toll on Kirk's emotional well-being, often leaving him feeling helpless and burdened by the memories they evoke.
In an attempt to shield his fellow clones from the distressing imagery, Kirk  keeps the photographs locked away in a drawer, preventing others from stumbling upon them. Once the mandated time frame for retention expires, he burns them, allowing the painful memories to be released and moving towards healing.
While Kirk maintains a certain emotional distance from others to protect himself from attachment, he consistently watches over and supports his brothers. He constantly reminds them to look after each other and cherish what they have. Despite Kirk's attempts to keep a low profile, Bob, Cody and Chase support him with whatever they can, noticing Kirk's emotional distance.
Kirk's selflessness is well known among the 380th, as he consistently places the needs of others above his own. He is always ready to provide whatever care there is necessary. While he has close friends with Chase, he is close friends with Commander Cody and with the 501st medic, Kix.
Kirk also has symbols on his armour. The red insignia and the semicolon in mando’a. The semicolon is a symbol of mental health and not giving up, but also a symbolism for those who have attempted suicide in the past; Kirk being one of them. Kirk put it on his armour to encourage himself to never give up hope, but also to keep going through his struggles of mental health. He hopes this inspires others to do the same.
After his incident, Kirk had to be pulled out of service for a month until he gained control over his mental health and evaluated until he was fit for duty again.During this process he had Cody, Bob, Irony, Obi-Wan and Chase by his side. Now he is encouraging and supporting other clones who need the help.
ARC Trooper Chase - CT-54323
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ARC Trooper Chase is the most serious and disciplined of the 380th squad.  He respects Commander Fox and Wolffe, embodying a strong sense of duty, he follows orders without hesitation. Chase's no-nonsense attitude can sometimes lead to irritation when his fellow clones deviate from established protocols. However, beneath his stoic exterior, he harbours a profound love and loyalty for his brothers.
He can be seen as the most protective clone in the 380th, more than Kirk or Tim. Chase is extremely distrusting of Jedi due to an incident that occured many years ago where an ex-ARC Trooper, Cherry, was killed by the hands of a Jedi master, being depicted as traitorous and a fugitive to the republic.
Chase knew that these allegations were false, knowing his brother was framed and in the process of investigating, he too was depicted as a traitor; because of this, he lost trust in the Jedi and the people who were supposed to be protecting them. During those investigations, two Jedi came forward, Plo Koon and Obi-Wan Kenobi, who believed Chase and helped  clear his name from the charges.
However, despite everything, he is still seen as untrustworthy and unreliable. Only his brothers see him for who he truly is. (Along with Plo and Obi-Wan.) Since then, Chase has been insanely protective over his brothers, not allowing new people to linger too long near them. It takes him a while to get to trust people; but once you gain his trust, he will fight for you.  Irony was also another member in the 380th who helped to find out the truth behind the incident. It was soon revealed that Pong Krell was behind the attack and the killing of Cherry.
Lieutenant Silver - CT- 51723
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out of the 380th, Silver is the collector and the most child-like. He has a massive interest in anything metallic and shiny, with exceptions to some other things. He is awfully cuddly whenever he finds a new friend and is always willing to trade with anybody for trinkets; in return  he gives out rations or even any supplies he finds on his travels. Silver is intelligent, strong, and loves working with other people. While he can be rather childish at times, he is a loyal and reliable member. Whenever he trusts somebody enough, he will make them a small keychain with their name on it and maybe with a gem or something else that reminds him of that person. To get one of these is an honour in his world.
Every member of the 380th has one and to get one means you are an official member and have passed the test. Despite his nature, he is resourceful and intelligent. Some people may see his trinkets as a mess or an interference on missions, but on multiple occasions, he has used them as a weapon (handed over to Bits) or included in explosives to help get rid of the enemy. He’s one of the best at improvising.
Silver is also someone who helps design and improve the armour with modifications and even assist in repairs with Meddel whenever he can. If the worst comes to worst, he will help be the back-up mechanic, though that is something Meddel wishes to never happen.
 Lieutenant Bits - CT-81754
Tumblr media
Whenever he’s not on a high-risk mission, he is always trying to find things to blow up, even if there is no need to. Bits is the bane of Tim’s existence and if Silver’s constant hunt for shiny stuff isn’t the thing that gives him a migraine that day, it’s Bits. He is constantly on the move and leaving things about—if he’s not sorting out their arsenal, he’s studying separatist buildings, if he’s not doing that, he’s helping to create new weapons.
He is seen to be the most chaotic out of the group. He is always coming up with new ways to better their strategies and much to Tim’s dismay is essential to the 380th’s success. Whenever possible, he’s giving people the chance to blow things up with him.
Bits absolutely loves food. He is also one of the only people in the 380th who can actually cook something edible and prevent them from living on watermelon for the rest of their lives.
Sergeant Irony - 69423
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Known for getting into Ironic situations, Irony is the pilot of the 380th. He is loyal, kind and has a massive love for ducks. He has the ability to be quick on his feet, and the ability to use humour to diffuse tense and difficult situations. Irony is one of the more relaxed people in the 380th, willing to crack a joke about how ironic something is and see things for how they really are.
He is a realistic sort of thinker and doesn’t really like to have things sugarcoasted. Whenever there is a problem, he doesn’t stop at anything until he finds out the truth, even if it means going against orders to find it. (An example of this was when Cherry was framed for being a fugitive, soon being killed by a Jedi, did he assist in exposing the truth. It’s because of him that it prevented Chase from being executed or court martialled.) This sort of thinking has gotten him into a lot of trouble over the years, but it has always been for the greater good. He has a fear of heights, which earned him the “Irony” nickname by Meddel. They are close friends and grew up together in the cadets program.
Meddel was the one who encouraged him to become a pilot in the first place. Irony is a person who searches for any kind of adrenaline, doing whatever it takes to find the joys in life.
He is the original creator of the codenames: “Mother Duck” and “Duckling.”  Much to the dismay of the 380th, he is the creator of other code names and nobody can really argue with it.
Corporal Beetle - 833713
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beetle is known to be the hermit of the 380th, known for his introverted and ‘dark light’ seeking nature. He’s very stealthy and good at sneaking around even if he doesn’t mean to. Many clones have reported him ‘teleporting’ because they didn’t see him move.
He is a very reserved and cuddly individual who takes an interest in anything bright and colourful, which is why he’s close friends with Bits. You can usually find him hiding under the table or in a dark place with his datapad in hand. Bits is good at problem solving and has a good knowledge of computer and security systems. He’s the go-to whenever they need someone to sneak into place.
It takes a while for Beetle to get to know somebody, but once he’s comfortable you can find him sleeping on Bits, Bob or even Cody. Whenever he’s not doing anything, he is usually sleeping. He’s known for creating drawing ideas for Silver and even handing him unique shiny things.
Whenever he is not cuddling someone, you can usually find him alone watching people. Beetle is also very aware of his surroundings and is able to understand people’s moods before everyone else. He’s insanely good at reading people’s body language.
Corporal Meddel - CT-84324
Tumblr media
Meddel is the engineer of the 380th and the backup pilot for Irony. He is meticulous and has a good attention to detail, being someone who has pride in his word and one of the most important members within the team. Whenever he is not flying ships or is in meetings, he is making sure the gear, weapons and machines are working and up to standard.
Whenever they get inspections, he is the first person to check over everybody before the Jedi enter the barracks. Despite being an introvert, he is good at teamwork and collaborating with his fellow clones, especially Silver and Irony.
Meddel is always giving Silver his tools to use whenever he wants to make things, but other times he finds his tools going missing. Despite that, Meddel is very protective over his stuff and will go feral whenever people move something he had put into place.
Usually, he is found lingering around the hangar or flying with Irony in the sky. His favourite ship is the x-wing and has been trying to get one painted the colour of his armour, but Cody keeps declining. He also really fucking likes watermelon. He will do anything to get that shit. Not to mention, he was the person who got the 380th into that fucking fruit. It has gotten so bad that Cody has to check in advance that the planet they go to does not have any watermelon on it.

Listen I don’t even really like Jack but Janet does and that’s what matters here.
they’re both young and reckless and Janet herself recognises this but they’re so caught up in the thrill of being together that neither of them every stopped to think “is this what’s right for us?” And it’s fine for a while - they’ll get through her pregnancy, maybe into Tim’s first couple of years - but then that thrill that defined their early relationship and marriage will be gone.
Jack will want to travel further and longer, Janet will want to stay because she can’t bring Tim with them but she doesn’t want to be apart from him for so long. And in the end they both mutually realise that it isn’t going to work out and have an amicable break up.
that way Janet can find out that she’s in love with her best friend Helena after a series of unfortunate dates and Jack can still end up with Dana (ie tim can still have Dana as one of his best stepmoms ever)
There’s something to be said about young love and the dangers of getting in over your head but I suppose it all works out in the end

MAG 36 - apple cutting
"I have seen people cold and lifeless upon the mortician’s table who I knew, who I remembered as vibrant and lively." / " Simply a body that no longer moved or spoke or thought." - The thing about seeing someone you knew and loved dead is that they're suddenly so alien, for me at least. Sometimes you hear about this "bla bla, they look so peaceful, as if they're sleeping" - I could never see that. You absolutely see that that in front of you is no longer that person. You know that this is different. It's so hard to describe, it's really just like an empty shell. Not talking about open casket with make-up and stuff, we don't really have that in my country. I don't know, if that would change anything. I mean like recently died, few hours tops.
"It feels odd to consider the fact that you will no longer exist some day, but you didn’t exist for billions of years before your birth, so, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to conclude that you will not exist afterwards in much the same way." - Ohhh, this makes my head swim… There's a bit in MAG 155, that does the same to me…
I memorized the name Ivy Meadows very well, that was convenient later for that scene with Melanie.
"Of them all, Ivy Meadows was my favourite. For a funeral director to say she has a favourite nursing home probably sounds a bit like the Grim Reaper talking about his favourite hospital" - Arrrrg, this is actually really relatable… You know bad things will happen to people because it's your job but you still will have favorite places or departments.
"I could swear I recognised him from somewhere" - just a tiny little nod to Trevor's fame (MAG 10: "So everyone around Manchester knows about Trevor the Tramp, sure.")
"after a leaking gas main caught fire." - This is the first of a few of the whole gas main foreshadowings!
"Something in the way Ms. Baxter talks about fear. I can’t help but be reminded of statement 0142302, how Jane Prentiss talks about her own fears." - I mean, yes, it's horror and usually that's the goal, but this is already preeeetty overt about what these powers are.
"And the old man and his companion… who does that remind me of? If he wasn’t dead, I’d think it might have been Trevor –" - I completely missed that in my first listen… It's so obvious! I mean Jon even says his name!
"No, he… Oh, yes, actually. I completely forgot." - HE'S ALREADY FORGETTING ABOUT THE LIGHTER!!!
"a table of some sort. Ah, looks old. Quite pretty, though. Fascinating design on it." / "Tim, it doesn’t have a hole in it, does it? About six inches square?" / "Hypnotic, yes." - It's so cool that an important plot point like the table gets soooo much attention, so many nudges at the audience to pleeeease recall this table; and there are even more to come.

Whumptober 2022: Day 3 - Hair’s breadth from death
Prompt: Impaled
Summary: After receiving the news that his boyfriend is fatally wounded, Kon’s mind is a mess. Guilt, worry and fear consume him as he sits by Tim’s side promising help is on the way.
Enjoy! :D
Kon didn’t see it happen and the jury is still out on whether that was for the best or not. Even if he had seen what happened, Kon doesn’t think he would ever be prepared to witness the sight before him.
With his mind in shambles from the news that his boyfriend is hurt, Kon scrambles over debris fighting to make his way to Tim’s side as quickly as possible, it doesn’t even occur to him that he could fly there or use super speed. As he climbs over rubble that once used to be a building all of the air in his body is suddenly punched out of him and he freezes once he sees the result of what happened for the first time.
Amongst more debris with his costume standing out against the black and grey of the rubble, Tim is lying there in one of the worst conditions Kon’s ever seen him in. One of his legs is currently buried underneath more rubble while the other is splayed out to the side, his body seems to be lying on the concrete unevenly, his left arm is twisted in the wrong direction and the other is curled over his chest protectively and his head is tipped back resting between two rocks. Kon could see how tight lipped he is, how pale he’s become along with all the bloody marks and scratches now covering the skin that’s visible.
That’s not the worst of it. The biggest and most frightening thing of the situation is the giant metal rod sticking out of Tim's chest.
Kon stares with wide eyes at the thing impaling his boyfriend. He has no idea how it happened but everything in Kon’s mind shuts down as complete and utter horror, fear, anguish courses through him. He doesn’t recognise the sound escapes his mouth at the sight of his boyfriend on what has to be the brink of death.
Without thinking he continues his journey over the debris, wanting, needing, to get to his boyfriend’s side. By god is he even alive? What happened? How could Kon let this happen?
Before he could get any closer to Tim’s body blonde hair is suddenly in his face and he blinks to find Cassie standing in front of him wearing a distressed expression with her hand against his chest. To begin with Kon pays her no attention. He shoves her hand away and pushes forward but the amazon is there again stopping him in his tracks. He looks at her furiously.
“What the fuck Cassie? Move!” He’ll apologize to her later for harshness of his tone but in that moment she was stopping him from being where he needed to be at the most.
“Superboy listen to me.” She demands still not moving. “Conner!”
When Kon continues trying to get past her, Cassie shoves him hard in the chest with her strength. When Kon stumbles back he blinks in shock at his teammate and once she sees she has his attention she continues speaking, her tone softening but not losing that firm edge to it.
“Right now, Bart’s gone to get help. Tim is currently alive, but barely.” She reports to him and Kon could see the worry in her face as she tells him this. “We can’t risk moving him until we know more and have people here who know what they’re doing.”
Without even realising it Kon must have made a move to go towards his boyfriend again because suddenly Cassie is right up in his space once again, this time grabbing a fist full of his shirt to keep him in place.
“The bar,” she grits out through clenched teeth, “looks like it’s gone through his side. Hopefully it hasn’t punctured anything important but internal bleeding is still a worrisome factor, we don’t know the extent of the damage done.”
Still not really listening to what she’s saying, all Kon’s mind could think about is Tim’s broken body just several feet away from him. He needed to be by his side and all Cassie is currently doing is stopping him from doing so. She’s not telling him anything useful.
When he tries yet again to get past her, shoving her away, he gets smacked for his efforts. It takes all of his restraint to not burn her with his heat vision.
“Listen to me!” She screams at him. Kon’s sure if she had heat vision he would be smoking ash at this point too. “You need to calm yourself down and not freak out when you’re next to him. Do not, for the love of god, move that rod!”
Kon glares at her, feeling his hackles rise at her words. “I’m not the one freaking out Cassie! And quite frankly I’m not stupid so stop treating me as such. Now move before I make you.” The threat hangs in the air between them and Kon has reached to the point where he’ll make good of the threat if she doesn’t abide. He’s only getting more worked up over the situation because she’s insisting on not letting him in.
The two of them glare at one another for several beats. Thankfully before Kon could make good of his threat, she lets his shirt go and stands to the side to let him past. After that Kon wastes no time in rushing to Tim’s side and observing the situation up close.
Blood covers all of Tim’s front. His boyfriend’s breathing is laboured but Kon is just grateful he is breathing. Guilt, worry, dread, fear and anxiety, all hit Kon and he has no idea on what emotion to focus on.
Being careful Kon reaches out and gently grabs Tim’s hand that’s resting on his front, he lightly curls their fingers together and holds his palm between both of his hands. Kon sees Tim’s head turn towards him and he’s shocked to find that Tim’s conscious right now, he couldn’t even begin to imagine how much pain his boyfriend currently experiencing. How is he even awake?
“Kon?” His name comes out as a breathless gasp and it breaks Kon’s heart with how weak it sounds.
Swallowing the lump that’s formed in his throat Kon nods. “Yeah I’m here Tim. I’m so sorry this happened to you. We’re going to get help though, okay? Hang in there, help is on its way and you’re going to be fine.”
“It hurts…”
“I know,” Kon says, despite the warning and knowing better, he’s unable to help himself from reaching up and cupping Tim’s cheek with his hand. “Just hang on Tim, promise me you’ll hang on. Help is coming, I promise.”
Kon’s heart shatters even more when Tim sends him a weak, barely-there smile. “Trying.”
A choked laugh breaks out of Kon. He tries to stifle any more noises that threaten to break free but seeing his boyfriend in such a state where he’s no doubt in so much pain and the chances of him dying from this are extremely high, he can’t help but feel overwhelmed with emotion.
Tim, the selfless bastard that he is, senses that something is wrong and sends Kon a small frown. Despite pain it obviously causes him if the pained sound is anything to go by, Tim shakily reaches up and sloppily pats Kon’s cheek with his good hand. “Don’t cry clone boy…”
A wet laugh escapes Kon and he shakes his head in disbelief. He grabs Tim's hand, kisses his knuckles before lowering it to his chest again. Before he could say anything however a gust of wind hits him and Bart suddenly materialises next to him. Other than looking frazzled, he appears to be okay which is a good thing considering the battle they’ve all just endured.
The speedster glances between them, his gaze lingering on the rod in Tim’s chest, and speaks up, “members of the JLA are on their way with medical help. They’ll be able to help Tim and get him to the closest hospital.”
Taking a deep breath Kon nods. He’s glad help is on the way but he can’t bring himself to feel relief. They’re no way near out of the danger zone just yet. He focuses back on Tim, giving his hand a little squeeze.
“Helps coming Tim. Just hang on. Helps almost here…” Kon’s just praying his boyfriend makes this out alive.

I loved your analysis of Terri Porter as a character and her relationship with Gina and potential relationship with Ricky. Just wanted to ask if you had any idea about the Valentine's Day chocolates. Because even if Terri and Ricky have not officially met before, the implication seems to be that they have had a conversation centred around Gina before 4×07. At a period of time that Terri now knows Gina was not very happy during because of this very boy. Do you think that interaction could have accounted for the obvious tension between them in Gina's bedroom? Apart from everything else.
Asking the hard questions I see haha 😅
the implication seems to be that they have had a conversation centred around Gina before 4x07
So the only info we have regarding Ricky and Terri’s possible connection in the chocolates ordeal is:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way I kinda see it? If we’re being technically technical, there isn’t actually explicit implication that she’s had a conversation with Ricky before, much less about getting Gina chocolates. All she mentions is what’s in the above screenshot text message, and though you could potentially connect the two given the timeline of events (and I know I and many others did back in the day), it’s still not confirmed. Could still be anything that allowed her to find a way to send it last minute. We have the screenshot of the old script idea which did confirm it, but the thing is, like the hoco car scene no-one-saw-it-coming smooch that got scrapped and Jennzara talking in the middle of LYF and I’m sure countless other early scripts, this Ricky confession was scrapped too. So for all intents and purposes, Ricky never canonically interacted with Gina’s mom until the Halloween party in s4.
If they’d ever had any kind of communication prior to s4 encounters, we wouldn’t have gotten this brutal ass scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gina introduces him for the first time, and the name drop doesn’t spark any recognition on Terri’s face at all. Plus, Ricky nods after Gina says “I don’t think you two have ever met”. So I don’t think they’ve interacted at all before.
Do you think that interaction could have accounted for the obvious tension between them in Gina’s bedroom?
(As in… like most moms wouldn’t be, Terri wasn’t pleased that Ricky’s girlfriend having ass got her daughter chocolates on VDay the way a boyfriend would lmao?)
I have 3 overall thoughts:
1) I personally don’t think it was a factor. When Gina tells her mom about the last several months and what went down, at the time, she herself still doesn’t even know Ricky gave her the chocolates so Terri wouldn’t know that Ricky was involved. Ricky doesn’t show up with the new box until later that evening, so could she have learned that later? Sure, but I don’t think so. My general view is that this potential Ricky/Terri collab is a plot hole Tim just wants us to forget about and move on from lol, evidenced by Ricky just dropping the box of chocolates on the ground and it never being addressed directly. Seems like one of those things that were scrapped or changed in scripts, but previous occurrences/dialogue etc was not accounted for to corroborate this adjustment. (For example, Kourtney saying Ricky and Nini met in the 7th grade, a dialogue point that is then later confused by them being revealed as childhood friends from a young age at the end of the season).
2) They could still have collab’ed. In which case, the argument now becomes how to prove that she did recognise Ricky’s name which is a little harder. But in that case, if the collab is canon, I would choose as possible evidence the fact that Terri kind of goes from recoiling when Ricky taps her arm to addressing him with a "warm" smile (warm for Terri). That maybe she does remember the dear friend who got her daughter chocolates and so he gets “special treatment” with direct interaction instead of the borderline dismissive way she generally acts towards the theatre group. Because in this whole scene, she doesn't look at anyone else in the room at all until right before she leaves and even then it's just a quick glance and smile. But she looks at Ricky straight on lmao, hence "special treatment".
So in that case, yeah, the chocolates might be a factor in her disdain in e7, barring other issues she has with him. Knowing he did the nice gesture for her daughter could also explain why she seems kind of fond of him in that confrontation in Gina’s room despite having barely talked. A 'he may not meet her standards as a boyfriend for her daughter, but he exceeds every expectation for her daughter as a friend and she still is grateful for that' type of thing.
And 3) I headcanon with my sis that Terri actually did send Gina some fancy chocolate package or gift outside of Ricky through some delivery service, but her gift got delivered to the wrong address. It would explain why Terri texted so late at night: she'd checked tracking and seen the package was delivered, but didn't receive a confirmation text from Gina all day and evening that she’d gotten the gift that likely had a card attached. If it had been delivered to the right place, Gina would have gotten two chocolate gifts that night. And with this headcanon, it removes Ricky being involved with Terri’s plan in any capacity, it explains Terri’s last minute gift of chocolates to Gina, keeps Ricky as the sole giver of the box we did see, and keeps the chocolates drama from s2 (Gina thinking it was from her mom and Ricky’s stupid joking about something he really did do), and thus, solves the plot hole lol.
All this to say, that after s4, I do see some part of Terri’s reluctance to accept Ricky as overprotectiveness because he’s hurt Gina in the past, however unintentional, but I don’t think the chocolates play a role. The way everything went down, I don’t personally think we’re supposed to connect Ricky and Terri in the chocolate narrative point anymore, but I could obviously be wrong! Nothing was confirmed so sky’s the limit on whatever we want to imagine.
Thanks for the ask and for reading that meta! :3

Sailing Part 13
This doesn’t lighten anyone’s mood, but as Ziva catches Gibbs’s eye and realizes that wasn’t his plan. He’s totally serious about what just happened. [Y/N]’s lying there freezing, shivering from head to toe.
‘Tony, go grab some towels,’ Ziva told him and he nods, taking off below the decks of the boat. Within seconds, however; he’s standing at the top step to the main cabin, with a panicked look fixed across his face. He doesn’t have the towels.
‘We’re in deep shit,’ Tony tells them all. ‘I’m not fucking kidding either.’
What is it now? Ziva thought as she looked at Gibbs. Gibbs just looks straight back at her. I have no idea what Tony has discovered, but I recognise from his tone, the quiver in his voice, that’s definitely something very bad.
‘Tim, stay right here, with Abby and your sister,’ Ziva tells Tim, falling in line behind the still dripping Gibbs, who looks just as if he’s answering the bell for about the fiftieth round in a ring fight. The two of us head below the decks so Tony can quickly fill us in on the latest crisis on The Family Gibbs. Tony doesn’t have to say a word – literally – to either of us. It’s practically obvious, it’s right there at our feet. Water! Everywhere we look – it’s covering the entire cabin, four to five inches deep and rising rather quickly.
‘Where’s it coming from?’ Ziva asks. ‘The only place it can,’ Gibbs answers. ‘It’s coming from down below. It has to be, Ziver. No buts I’m going down.’
Gibbs pushes past his first born son; Tony, trudging over to the galley and the small, square hatch in the boat floor that leads straight to the engine room.  The Atlantic Ocean is literally forcing its way up through the hinges as Jethro reaches down and pops the hatch handle. God only knows what he’ll find when he does.
‘Are you sure you want to do that? Dad’ asks Tony. ‘Well, it’s either this or we sink, son,’ Jethro tells his son, Tony matter-of-factly. ‘I choose taking a look.’
Tony’s Adam’s apple literally disappears beneath the collar of his designer Abercrombie & Fitch T-shirt as his father; Jethro pulls up the hatch door, he takes one quick look at the current situation beneath our feet and starts giving emergency orders – so much for two months off, Gibbs thought.

Fun things after watching The Batman
The movie sets a more crime-thriller, film noir take on Batman that really hones in on Bats as the world’s greatest detective as opposed to throwing in a bunch of action scenes as has been the norm of late for “superhero” films. The action choreo that is there feels so real and like an actual real person fighting, making Bats feel more grounded as a person, and the action set pieces just compliment all the build up through the quieter moments. Literally 80% of this film is him looking around a room for clues or inferring some sort of deduction from a conversation and I’m here for itttt
The actor who plays Tim Drake in Titans plays the scared kid who doesn’t wanna beat up the random guy. Not the same Batmen but how fun if that was Tim Drake’s origin story in another timeline
This whole time Bruce is majorly projecting on the Mayor’s son his own trauma as a kid who lost his parents to a brutal murder. In both Bruce and Bats forms, he holds eye contact with the kid. When Bats comes over to help the people trapped under the tower, and the mayor-elect Bella Reál hesitates to take his hand (bc he’s a vigilante who in many ways represents everything she’s been campaigning against, also bc he’s masked and dangerous etc) the first one to take his hand and thus demonstrate his trust in Bats is the kid. And the others follow (literally that shot with the flare and everyone following in the dark water was so beautiful I cannot)
The repeated use of Ave Maria whether in full form or hints throughout the score as a signal of impending danger
That opening title screen just stretching all the way across the theatre screen. Magnificent
Despite the “I am Vengeance” line being the mic drop-ish line from the trailer, basically everyone makes fun of Bats for using it the whole movie and then it comes back in a sinister way right at the end
People initially laughing at the idea of Robert Pattinson as Bats now saying his is one of the best interpretations of Batman so far, especially in terms of the detective aspect of the character
This version of Bruce reads as much younger than the other interpretations of Bruce Wayne. Like all of them are “would rather do XX than go to therapy” to some degree, but this version of Bats leans hard into this and feels really fresh on the scene. Guess it helps that when he’s Bruce he doesn’t switch immediately into a three piece suit and actually wears normal clothes. And he’s only 2 years into the game. I think it also adds to this image bc the playboy personality is nonexistent in this version of Bruce. He’s attracted to Selina (or at least drawn to her and the kiss just pushed it in a more romantic direction), but he also doesn’t push it beyond the opportunities she has presented to him. So idk. That seems very young of him?? I guess to be so caught up in the Batman of it all that he doesn’t recognise the potential for him and Selina until after she kisses him.
The fact that Selina’s leather suit actually has some give and slight bagginess to it. Like yes it is form fitting, but there’s clearly wiggle room and that’s a small thing but v important I think that it isn’t skin tight. Bc all other scenes she’s dressed in what I would say are very revealing clothing, as part of her job at that club that exploits women’s bodies and looks for profit. In this outfit, she clearly has so much more control and ownership of her body, and despite the typically slinky and seductive image of Cat woman, her suit feels quite practical and more like a uniform or battle outfit.
Paul Dano was freaking brilliant as The Riddler. But I also kept thinking “yo it’s that guy from Little Miss Sunshine” XD

Batfam’s movie
There’s a mystery drama film on the Thomas and Martha Wayne about their life and death. It’s really dramatic and cinematic with really nice background music. It’s a Wayne Productions movie with Bruce providing family records and permission to film on Wayne Manor grounds. He provides photos, references, costumes that the Wayne’s actually wore. And the film crew has access to all Wayne owned buildings for filming. Bruce helped casts to get actors and actresses that best resembled his parents
The family actually participated many of the shootings with:
Dick playing a footman in a gala in a comedic role when Thomas and Martha went to a fundraiser where they first started dating. He’s on screen for 4 minutes and has a couple lines but stuck around to support his siblings when they were shooting.
Jason appeared for a short second as a passer by for legal reasons (because he’s you know… legally dead) but he’s credited at the end for both his role and stunt performer (yes it’s got a lot of action in it it’s in Gotham ok).
Tim plays a friend of Thomas when they were at school as a fellow aristocrat who was there when Martha and Thomas first met. He encouraged them to get together. Tim has the most lines out of all of them.
Damian plays a 9 year old Bruce just before their death but he wasn’t allowed to speak and was kept in the background due to a publicity agreement with Talia (she doesn’t want Damian to be on the news or be recognised in public because it could affect his daily life). For this reason he isn’t credited. He was very vocal in filming and directed some of the stunt scenes. Young Bruce was played by at least 3 different actors so Damian was only on for 3 scenes. He put blue contact lenses on and styled himself to look like young Bruce.
Stephanie plays an orphan that Martha meets near crime alley that inspires her to help fund a homeless project as well as build new orphanages that is a loving and warm place for orphans in the city. Stephanies role continues to influence Martha throughout the film which leads to Martha breaking down realising how fortunate they are.
Cass performs in a Don Quixote ballet where Thomas takes Martha for a date which is attacked. She’s fully credited for her role
Harper does backstage as well as props. She introduced some friends from the homeless shelter for roles in the movie.
I’ll do a part 2 for Duke, Kate, Barbara, Alfred, Talia and Ra’s.

The thing about working on a Tim-Robin focus reread is I’m now staring blearily at common fanon assumptions again and going “now where did you come from”, and today’s target is the weird as hell “Tim doesn’t think he’s part of the family, he’s just an EMPLOYEE you guys” nonsense, because Tim? Tim doesn’t think he’s part of the family? C’mon. There ISN’T an extended Batfamily as we understand it today without Tim.
Tim the Team-Up Robin is like 50% of how we ended up where we are now. (The other 50% is No Man’s Land of course, which solidified the larger supporting cast’s shape that allowed for future additions and had Bruce actually accept that he was stuck with *handwaves* everyone from here on out).
I mean. I just put together a list of Tim’s early-mid 90s team ups, and it’s like: Clyde Rawlins (sorry dude) and Shiva (Robin I); Helena Bertinelli (Robin III, Robin #6/Showcase ’94 #5-6 – Benedictions, Robin #17); Steph Brown (‘Tec #647-649, Robin #3-5, Robin #15); Azrael!John-Paul Valley (Prelude to Knightfall/Knightfall); Azbats!John-Paul Valley (Knightfall/Knightquest) (fun fact, Azbats is literally a canon nickname for him); Nightwing!Dick Grayson (Showcase ’93 #11-12, then regularly from Contagion onwards); Robin!Dick Grayson (Robin #10); Batman!Dick Grayson (Prodigal); Connor Hawke (Robin #25, Brotherhood of the Fist); Selina Kyle (who is really not thrilled about it) (Contagion). He works with Harold Allnut in the cave. He works with Barbara Gordon as soon as she starts giving Oracle assistance to the Bats (and is the first of the Bats to properly thank her for her work! Robin #30 is the first really good Tim-Babs moment). He goes out with Alfred Pennyworth as support in person (Robin II, Contagion). He works with Renee Montoya and Harvey Bullock when their investigations overlap. He seeks help from Ulysses Armstrong’s siblings to get Ulysses back in custody (Robin #19-20). He gets TOLD OFF by Bruce for his habit of just latching on to the nearest hero/anti-hero/villain who has a similar goal and going “cool, let’s work together”. Bruce gets SO grumpy over Tim just hanging out with Helena every time they cross paths and Tim and Alfred actively work to hide the fact he teamed up with Selina from Bruce (and you know that post about Bruce going “I have found a more acceptable partner for you” and showing Nightwing? That’s EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED when Bruce found out)
Tim’s anchoring or helping anchor MOST of the extended cast who we’d recognise as vigilantes under the Batfamily banner during the 90s, until Nightwing and BoP both get ongoing titles and take over handling part of the load. But there again, you have the central trio of Babs-Dick-Tim holding onto relationships with other characters that Bruce can’t or won’t manage, and they’re doing it as a little bonded triple unit all the way up to hmm somewhere around Identity Crisis and Infinite Crisis. (Except for Azrael. Poor JPV really is a red-headed step-child and nobody wants to play with him).
And then I recall that your average fanon Batfamily fan can identify only about half this list and is probably extremely confused by why Selina really doesn’t want to be teaming up with Tim back in the 90s and doesn’t realise that Tim had a close working relationship with HELENA before he had one with Dick. (I’d forgotten that Tim and Helena were at “team up every time we cross paths” stage before Prodigal happened and Dick decided that he had a new little brother now, thank you very much, until I mapped all this out)

you’ve got my heart bursting at the seams
look guys! a Soup Sickfic AU update! I know you missed the fluffy romcom content 🌈 and I’m also in time for the last day of @jonmartinweek which I’m delighted about actually. ✨
promise next time they’re going to go on a date. I swear this whole series doesn’t exclusively feature jmart taking turns being gay about each other, there will be some dating involved. eventually. at some point. maybe they'll even kiss sooner or later, who knows! not them for sure!
for now, enjoy Jon being in complete denial for 3k words straight ❤️
-
Jon is… a competitive person.
Anyone who has known him for longer than fifteen minutes, especially in a social setting - say, like a game night – could and would probably tell you that, while side-eyeing him with some amount of distrust and adding that he surely can be nice, if a bit of a prick about game rules.
He’s maybe, perhaps, competitive enough to have been permanently banned from showing up to Georgie’s weekly board game nights back in university, despite having been an active participant only the first time he went.
He isn’t especially proud of the person he becomes during a game of Scrabble. Neither was Georgie.
Unfortunately, Tim has known him for much longer than fifteen minutes.
He mentions it for the first time in the morning, as he’s handing over a stack of papers before getting started on his own work for the day, leaning over the desk to catch his eyes before he can bury himself in the documents.
«You know, boss, it’s Friday.» he says, casual as anything, tilting his head to the side. Jon makes a non-committal hum that he knows won’t be enough of an answer.
It would be an innocent enough remark, except he recognises that tone. It’s the you’re going to work yourself to death, Jon tone. The just think about it, Jon tone. The you know, boss, it’s Friday tone.
It’s too early in the morning – and four hours of sleep are too few – for him to deal with that tone. Tim pretends not to notice the suffering, pleading look he gives him, and barrels on uncaring.
«We’re all going out for drinks tonight! You should come, too, get a little bit of fresh air? So you don’t end up sneezing to death trying to sort out the new boxes, at least.» that was, to be fair, exactly what Jon had planned to do. Not the sneezing to death part, given it’s highly unlikely he will actually die because of a little dust. Or, well, considering the state of the boxes they have unearthed earlier in the week from, possibly, the filthiest, most disgusting spot in the Archives, a lot of dust. The boxes that are currently housed in the corner of his office, sitting there in all their suspiciously stained glory.
He doesn’t think Gertrude ever bothered even acknowledging the existence of these files during her whole tenure – at some point, if the smudged numbers written on the sides are any indication, they must have had dates on them, but that point is long gone and lost forever, which means they’ll have to check them one by one in order to classify the statements by date.
He isn’t looking forward to it, but it needs to be done.
He draws in a breath, preparing to tell Tim just that, but before he can get a protest out he’s being spoken over again with frankly excessive enthusiasm.
«It’s trivia night at the pub down the street, come on. The one where basically the whole Institute gathers on Friday evenings, you know?» he says. He’s still aiming for casualness, now sitting halfway on top of his desk, a cheeky grin splitting his face in an achingly familiar way.
It’s the same as when he used to drag them both out of the library for coffee, back in research, offering to pay for Jon's delirious mix of sugar and caffeine because oh no, it's way too entertaining to see you when the sugar rush hits, please allow me.
It’s been a while since he last saw that smile directed at him. He has missed it – the easy camaraderie of it, how delighted Tim looks when he rolls his eyes but ends up going along with whatever he’s planning.
Tim, being Tim, senses his hesitation like a shark with blood and proceeds to show absolutely no mercy.
«What, are you going to let David from Research win trivia night?» he asks, still smiling – his grin is sharper, somehow, pointed in a way that reminds him all of a sudden of the Admiral, whenever he managed to catch a bug. Jon isn’t smiling. He’s almost thirty years old, and he has a very serious job to be carrying out at the moment, and he’s above such petty matters, thank you, what kind of a question is that.
That’s what he means to say. He feels the words on the tip of his tongue. He can do it.
«We’ll see.» he says, instead. Before he can even register the betrayal of his own brain, Tim is pumping his fist in the air, triumphant. He’s out of the office in an instant, giving him one last wave on his way out, as he’s closing the door behind himself.
Jon wonders if his assistants are aware he can hear everything that happens in the bullpen, even with the door closed. Probably not. Or maybe they just don’t care, which is infinitely more likely.
As the day drags on, sluggish like only spring Fridays can be, with their peculiar brand of cheerful drizzles and temperatures too high for a cardigan and too low for everything else, Jon considers several ways to get himself out of it.
«He said yes, guys!»
He could try to sneak out before them, feigning a headache and then coming back later, or he could barricade himself inside the office, too, he surely has enough boxes for that.
He could also, simply, tell them he isn’t going. They probably wouldn’t put up too much of a fuss – they all have seen the state the Archives are in, after all. Really, they’re probably going to have more fun without him, anyway.
Things have been… awkward, lately.
It’s mostly his fault. It’s, to be completely honest, entirely his fault. Trying to find a balance while battling with the weight of his new role – alongside the guilt of knowing Sasha was the one who should have been promoted, really, more experienced and more qualified than him – has made him quite prickly. Even more than he normally is, and Jon isn’t great at social situations to begin with.
Martin, especially, has taken the brunt of most of his moods. He cringes slightly at the thought, the memory of some of the things he said making him wince.
He knows he has been unfair to him.
Tim and Sasha have said as much, more than once, and he won’t pretend to be that oblivious. He knows, the uneasiness of guilt poking him like a needle every time he fails to bite down a scathing remark, his chest tight with it as Martin’s face falls.
He has been trying. The anxiety tangled up with the whole situation makes it all the harder to approach – he’s stiff with it, fumbling over his words, and the time never seems to be quite right, someone butting in right when Jon has managed to work up almost enough courage to say the words, or Martin getting spooked and running off before he can say anything.
He isn’t even that bad.
He had taken longer than expected to adjust to writing reports in the right formatting, and his research hadn’t always been up to Jon’s standards, which were admittedly rather strict, for the kind of cases they had been working on, but he had learned quickly enough. He’s much better now.
And he’s… kind. Even though Jon really doesn’t deserve it.
He’ll bring him tea twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, steeped just a minute too long, with two sugars to balance out the bitterness, because he has noticed that’s how Jon likes it best. He’ll take a moment to smile at him, if they bump into each other in the morning when they get in, or in the evening before leaving. Not that he’s often arriving or leaving with everyone else, these days.
It makes something stir in his stomach, small and pointy, uncomfortable in a way not too dissimilar from how swallowing a fishbone feels. It leaves his throat tender, and if he reaches for the cup of tea left on the corner of his desk, lately, Jon finds himself smiling more often than not.
Martin being there is another reason he’s quite on the fence about going at all, to be honest.
He’s painfully aware of how narrow the booths are, and the idea of trying to make polite small talk without paying too much mind to their knees touching under the table, their arms brushing as they both reach for something, straining to hear the conversation over the music – always too loud – or the other patrons – also too loud – has him sweating already, his skin prickling with it.
However.
By the time five comes around, he has almost made up his mind to go.
He’s been reading through dull ghost story after dull ghost story for hours, the statements not even particularly well written, lacking the compelling pull some of them have, and the low thrum of boredom is driving him slowly but relentlessly mad.
The knock on his door isn’t unexpected. Neither is Tim poking his head in without waiting for an answer, cheerful as ever.
«Hey, boss! We’re leaving, you coming with?» he asks, and Jon hesitates for a second despite it all.
There’s so much to do. The boxes seem to be glaring at him from their corner, dust already settling on the floor next to them, and the pile of papers next to his laptop is seemingly unchanged from that morning, way too high and threatening to fall down any minute.
Tim looks at him, and his smile is still familiar and warm, and Jon knows he wouldn’t press the issue if he said no right now.
But he doesn’t want to.
What he wants to do, to be completely honest, is drink half-decent beer and destroy the Research team at trivia, because no one gets to call the Archives a useless waste of paper and resources unless they’re waist-deep in said waste of paper and David really, really isn’t.
The walk to the pub is as quiet as it can reasonably be expected to be with Tim and Sasha around.
He grabs his coat without a second thought.
Their constant bickering becomes an easy, well-loved background noise quickly enough, and Jon falls into step behind them, trying to not get hit in the face as Tim gestures animatedly explaining something or other about the secrets of the publishing industry. It’s a story Sasha must have heard a thousand times by now, but she’s still looking at him intently, nodding in all the right places – Jon, however, is perfectly happy with letting it fade into white noise for the moment.
Martin must notice him slowing down.
He falls back as well, hesitantly, adjusting his pace to match Jon’s, and Jon can feel a scowl already starting to dig in between his eyebrows because he doesn’t need pity, he’s made a conscious choice to step down from the conversation and he isn’t going to get lonely walking alone for five minutes.
He looks up at him, and he swallows the words as soon as they come.
Martin looks calm. Content. His glasses are a little crooked to the side, and his hair curls around his ears a bit more unruly than usual, ruffled at the end of the day like it never quite is when he first gets to work in the morning.
They walk in silence, and it isn’t awkward – not in the painful, terrible way Jon had expected it to be, hot with shame and crawling with guilt.
He can still feel it, but the night air is fresh and clean, and he doesn’t feel quite as out of place as he feared he’d be.
It’s… nice.
«Take that, Anita! God, all the times she bragged about what a good cook she is and she thinks saffron comes from lilies?»
Huh.
Jon has a problem.
The problem is that he might, in fact, be something of a shoddy judge of character.
The problem is that he has already had a couple of pints more than he normally would, and he can feel the buzzing, pleasant humming of the alcohol making his limbs heavy and his grip on his own feelings quite lax.
The problem is sitting next to him in a narrow pub booth, turning towards him in a triumph of messy red curls and freckles, and has the tiniest gap in between his front teeth that Jon shouldn’t linger on as long as he does, and is apparently the only person taking destroying the Research team at trivia as seriously as it should be taken.
Martin smiles at him, wide and easy and bright, and the expression crinkles his eyes in a way that makes the sharp, twisting feeling in his stomach very hard to ignore all of a sudden.
«Good job, Jon!» he says, and before Jon can say anything back – or, really, do anything that isn’t opening his mouth – Tim is shuffling out of his seat, clapping him on the back.
«Marto, why don’t we go get another round before the next question, yeah?» he asks, and Martin nods, getting up as well. He whispers a we’ll be right back to him and Sasha before they both disappear among the crowd, weaving through the tables to get to the counter.
Sasha clears her throat, pointed. Jon lets his chin rest on his hand, and doesn’t look at her, because he knows exactly what expression she’s wearing right now.
«Well, it seems like you and Martin are getting along, aren’t you?» she says, and he can hear the mischievous grin in her voice before he sees it, peeking at her from the corner of his eye. She’s mimicking his position, cupping her cheeks in her hands, and her eyes are glinting with delight.
«I have no idea what you’re talking about.» Jon says, because he has to say something. Sasha makes a face.
It’s a face he knows very well – usually it means she’s about to do something very illegal or something Jon won’t like in the least. Or both.
He backtracks slightly, before he can find out what it’ll be this time.
«He… he might not be as bad as- as I initially thought he’d. Be. And you and Tim aren’t taking this seriously enough.» he whispers, then, and despite having already known that privately for a while, because Jon isn’t a complete idiot, it feels strange to admit it out loud. Like a secret. That’s why he whispers – it seems appropriate.
God, he’s drunk.
Sasha doesn’t answer. Instead, she hides a giggle behind her hand at whatever expression Jon’s making, her cheeks going red with it.
When they notice Anita from the library team sending extremely murderous looks their way, wrapping her cardigan increasingly tighter around herself as she does, Jon snorts so hard he almost chokes on his beer.
«Didn’t know the library was promoting a mummification revival, did you.» he mutters, unthinkingly.
Sasha’s laughter is very loud – the kind of contagious, full-bellied laugh that makes you want to grin in return. Jon’s, under the right circumstances, is louder.
The circumstances, it turns out, are right.
They’re still folded in two over the table, every patron in the pub now either trying to ignore them or giving them dirty looks, when Tim and Martin get back.
They’re carrying two glasses each, sharing a look of utter confusion as they sit back down, but that isn’t what makes Jon pause.
He is, distantly, aware that Martin is quite handsome.
He has eyes. He can appreciate the solid build of him, the way his features are soft in places and harder in others, going together well all in all.
Jon also knows that he’s rather strong.
It’s just how things are. It’s a fact. An objective truth.
It is, however, a very different thing to be confronted with Martin rolling the sleeves of his jumper to his elbows, huffing a little at the temperature, right next to him.
They’re interesting forearms, in Jon’s defence. That’s the only reason he’s staring.
They look as strong as Jon knows they are – they all know, really. Martin had taken care of most of the boxes by himself, while he and Tim and Sasha tried to move a single one in a timely fashion and failed, earlier in the week.
So, Jon knows he has strong arms.
Jon, now, also knows Martin’s forearms are rather muscular, and that the hairs on them are a lovely reddish-brown that doesn’t quite match his hair.
Once again, facts.
He swallows. When that isn’t quite enough, his throat suddenly dry, he takes a sip of his new pint – it’s been a while since he last laughed that hard, hasn’t it.
With surprisingly good timing, that’s when the host takes the microphone back in hand, the squeaky old thing distorting his words unpleasantly as he speaks, keeping his mouth too close to it. Jon winces at the sound, barely able to make out what he’s saying.
«And now, for the last question of the evening! A cultural one, folks: “Oh, talk not to me of a name great in story; The days of our youth are the days of our glory” are the opening lines of which Lord Byron poem? You have two minutes to write your answers!» he says, and he scoffs, reaching for the pen and paper abandoned in front of him from the previous round.
And then he stops.
He doesn’t know.
They’ve gotten this far – and they’re so close to winning, he has been keeping count, but they need to get the last answer right or the Research team is going to have the upper hand. Jon would rather eat one of the statements from the eighteen-hundreds, dust and parchment and all, actually, before letting the Research team win.
Tim and Sasha look as baffled as he feels, frowning and repeating the words to themselves, sounding them out in case they’re familiar.
Then, the paper gets ripped from his hand along with the pen, Martin muttering something under his breath next to him, scribbling frantically.
«Oh, come on, let me. It’s All for Love. There– fuck, we’re almost out of time.» he says, and then he’s out of the booth, rushing to the counter to hand in their answer right as the timer chimes, counting down from ten.
And Jon is staring, and he’s staring, but he can’t help it.
The thing in his stomach has moved up, fluttering wildly in between his ribs, small and tender and yet really, really difficult to ignore.
It doesn’t feel like a fishbone anymore, actually.
Jon could almost miss it, swept up in the elated feeling of hearing the host confirm they’ve won, squeaky microphone and all, Sasha and Tim cheering so loudly he’s afraid they’re going to get kicked out for a second.
But when Martin turns to grin at them, delighted and proud and holding the most ridiculous plastic trophy Jon has ever seen like it’s a precious award, it becomes harder to ignore.
It sits in the very centre of his chest, and it’s warm and familiar, and it feels like holding a cup of tea in the morning, and like receiving a smile at the end of a long day, and like walking in silence on a spring evening.
It’s sweet.
Oh.

To Have Several first Meetings
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month Day 1: Meeting for the first time
ao3
@maribat-bdbwm
Marinette had known she was adopted since she had been twelve and had a project about genetics in school. Her parents had explained to her that her mother had given her up for adoption since she wasn’t in a situation to take care of her and didn’t think her father would be able to. Marinette’s mother had passed away soon after and while Tom and Sabine had her father’s information neither of them had ever contacted him. They left the option up to Marinette, and at the time she hadn’t cared, she had two loving parents and she was happy.
.oOo.
Marinette meets Batman for the first time when she’s 14. Wonder Woman had been in contact with them from the beginning of the hawkmoth situation, but after Heroes Day Batman insists on speaking to the them. As they enter the Watch Tower she can feel Cat Noir buzzing with excitement next to her. She’d laugh but she’s too nervous to do so.
Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are waiting for them. Marinette’s glad there aren’t more heroes around, Cat Noir looks like he might explode in excitement. They sit down at the table and Batman speaks first, “You need training.”
She’s well aware of that, but the way Batman says it irritates her, but she ignores it. She’s here because Diana asked, and because Batman is right about their lack of training.
Superman speaks up then, “We can help you with that. You can use Titans Tower for your training-”
“-And due to the nature of the threat you face, the two of you and the rest of your team is welcome there anytime.”
Marinette doesn’t point out that the rest of them are temporary heroes, it will probably alarm them more. She knows Cat Noir is probably jumping at the offer but she wants to know “why?”
Batman’s the one to speak, “if you’re going to protect Paris, then you’re going to need to be trained well.”
Marinette doesn’t know why Batman has a sudden vested interest in Paris’s safety but she’s going to go along with it. They do need the training and it will be nice to talk to more heroes their age.
“And the Justice League won’t interfere in Paris?”
“No.”
“None of them? You have a very large team and not all of them are here at the moment.”
“I will ensure everyone is informed.”
Marinette drops it, Batman sounds sincere.
.oOo.
Cat Noir and Ladybug make their first appearance in Titans tower that weekend. Cyborg and Nightwing are the ones waiting for them. They meet a lot of heroes. There’s Robin, Red Robin, Superboy, Wonder Girl, Kid flash, Solstice, Ravager, Beast Boy, Raven and apparently there are more of them usually but those are the ones she meets.
Civilian names are a whole another thing. Ladybug, Cat Noir and the Bats don’t share theirs but then there are the others. Cassie of course doesn’t have a secret identity. And Kon, Bart, Kiran, Rose and Gar don’t really mind telling another super hero. It’s a bit weird how forthcoming they are with their identities, Marinette’s had the no sharing identities rule hammered into her head for over a year now, and meeting the Teen Titans is making her question that rule.
As time passes and the miraculous team grows larger and the heroes become permanent, Titans Tower becomes steadily more occupied during weekends and training relaxes into hanging out.
They still train of course, the bats help with figuring out hawkmoth and Mayura’s identities, pretty much everyone helps with the actual fighting, and Raven helps with the more magical aspects. She meets pretty much all of the teenage superhero community over the course of a year. It’s pretty cool.
.oOo.
About a year after they start their training, they figure out Hawkmoth is Gabriel Agreste and Mayura’s Nathalie Sancouer. It’s not surprising but she knows they’re all worried how it’s going to affect Adrien, who as they learn is Cat Noir.
Marinette is fifteen when Hawkmoth’s reign over Paris ends.
Paris celebrates for days. But Marinette can’t bring herself to feel anything anymore. It’s not that she hasn’t been dealing with her emotions with the constant trips to the tower it’s just not letting herself feel anything in Paris becomes normal.
Her parents start to get worried and as much as she would love to calm down their fears she can’t. Luka, Juleka and Alya are the ones who join forces to convince her to reach out to her biological father.
When she gives in and asks her parents, they give her his contact information happily, assuming that’s what had been bothering her all this time. Marinette doesn’t correct them.
It takes Marinette a few weeks to call him but she does call him.
.oOo.
It turns out he already knew about her; he had just figured waiting until she was older was the better approach. Marinette wasn’t really sure what to make of that but he had invited her to his house in Gotham to spend a week getting to know him and the rest of his children.
Marinette accepts his offer happily. It would be nice to learn more about her father and his family (beyond what her research turned up with, Gotham reporters didn’t seem very sensible), and get out of Paris for a while.
.oOo.
Marinette is met by M. Pennyworth, who’s their butler, at the airport. Her parents had let her come on her own after M. Wayne had assured them that she would be safe. There had still been an unnecessarily large number of people to send her off at the airport, though.
Their ride to Wayne Manor is filled with a good amount of nervous rambling, from Marinette’s part. Alfred (he had insisted upon being called so) asks her about school and friends and Marinette goes on a lot of tangents as she talks about everyone in Paris.
There several people waiting at the entrance when they reach the Manor. If she wasn’t anxious about meeting her family, she would probably be more amazed at the beauty of the Manor and the surrounding grounds.
She waves awkwardly at them and says, “hi, I’m Marinette.”
The shortest boy among them, Damian she believes, turns away and walks back into the Manor. Her father turns as if to follow him but he’s stopped by the second tallest of her siblings, Marinette doesn’t think she’ll ever get used to the idea of siblings but she finds she quite likes it, “I’ll go check on Damian. Bye Marinette, see you around.”
She waves at him silently and all of them fall into silence, Alfred having left them. Would it be too late to turn away now?
There aren’t enough pictures of Bruce Wayne’s children on the internet, with the exception of Tim Wayne, for her to recognise all of them but she's pretty sure the one who finally breaks the silence is Jason Todd, returning from the dead created more than enough reading material for her research.
“I'm leaving. Nice to meet ya,” and then heads off. None of the others seem to think it’s strange, so she doesn’t dwell on it.
Mr. Wayne clears his throat and says, “we should probably head inside.”
“Truly one of your brighter ideas B,” Tim says and the other two laugh. They introduce themselves as Cass and Duke once they’re inside and Mr. Wayne tells her she can call him B or Bruce like the others do or whatever she’s comfortable with, Marinette nods in reply. And then she’s being dragged along to somewhere deep in the Manor by her new siblings and they’re talking about some kind of prank war that they’re apparently in the middle of.
Marinette grins. This is bound to be interesting.
