listen i love soulmate au’s as much as the next guy, but what i love even more than “found” soulmate aus, are made soulmate aus. where the characters don’t necessarily fall in love because they feel like they have to because they’re soulmates, but because they are really, truly, soulmates, yknow?

anyways, here’s my take on a reddie soulmate au:

in a world where you can only see in black and white, and colour only appears once you meet your soulmate, richie tozier is just waiting for the day he’ll be able to see colour. he’s been waiting for it his entire life... but he’s starting to get impatient. he’s been around his parents his entire life, who have been able to see in colour ever since they met at 15. most of his friends are starting to meet their soulmates. by the time he reaches his junior year of college, it’s like everyone around him has met their soulmate.... except him. 

richie’s even starting to convince himself that he’s never going to find a soulmate, that he’s just going to have to accept his life as it is.... until one day, while he’s walking across campus through a large crowd of people and he’s stopped all of a sudden by a splitting headache, and when he opens his eyes... 

he can see in colour. 

it’s beautiful, more so than he ever could have imagined, but as he’s taking it all in his happiness disappears just as quickly as it had come about. he looks around him at the bustling crowd of college students and realizes.... he doesn’t know who his soulmate is. it happened so fast, who was it that turned richie’s life around? there are so many people, none of them stopping or even seeming like something as big as being able to see in colour just happened to them. it’s with a great sadness and feeling of defeat that richie quickly realizes: he finally found out that he has a soulmate, but he has no idea who they are. 

the whole thing gets richie pretty down. his friends try to cheer him up, to reassure him that he’ll meet them again soon, but out of all the students that go to his college, how on earth is richie supposed to find them? he was just starting to retreat back to feelings of defeat and giving up...

and that’s when he meets eddie kaspbrak.

richie was looking for a new roommate, and eddie, another student at the college, was the only person who responded to his ad. there is no time wasted as a friendship forms between the two- even when they’ve only known each other for a week it feels like they’ve been friends forever. richie finds himself feeling a sort of comfort around eddie that he’s never felt with anyone else before- he doesn’t know how to describe it. the bond between them grows so strong, richie pretty much forgets about the search for his mysterious soulmate. he feels as though he already has everything he needs. 

until, one day, richie brings up the question he’s been curious about for a long time: he asks eddie if he’s met his soulmate. eddie tells him, “yes and no.” at richie’s confusion, eddie explains, “i can see in colour, so i’ve met my soulmate before. the only thing is... i don’t know who they are. you see, i was just walking across campus one day and it just hit me all of a sudden. colour. but there was so many people around me, i guess my soulmate just got lost in the crowd. i never found out who they were.” 

the answer sends a shiver down richie’s spine. nervously, he shares his own story with eddie, and neither of them can quite believe it... mostly because it seems too good to be true. richie had been telling himself that he had only been imagining these “more than friends” feelings between him and eddie all this time, but could it be that... those feelings weren’t all just in his head after all? 

they go a little deeper, and figure out that they both started seeing colour on the same day, at around the same time, at the same place. richie supposed thas no true way to tell for sure, no scientific test to prove that they were each other’s soulmates, but he was fairly certain that eddie had been his all along. not just because of the matching time and day of their colour sight, but because richie thinks that he always knew that he was in love with eddie. because of the way they had connected form the very first time they met, to the comfort richie always felt coming back home to the apartment and being greeted with eddie’s “welcome home!”, to the way he always felt his happiest when laughing alongside eddie before the idea of eddie being his soulmate was even a possibility, because he loved eddie, and eddie loved him back.

Honestly, I wish there was a trend where people create their own Avatar line, like drawing/writing their own version of a Fire, Air, Water, or Earth Avatar.

Like, it's been 10,000 years with little of that history being given to us (especially not as easily now either) - we can easily fill up that time gap and insert our own interpretations.

i hate the fanon interpretation that the gotham public adores damian. they don't.

bruce wayne, who's best known through the public eye, has many children ( most are nicer to cameras than his youngest ) & therefore damian isn't the focal point of many tabloids, especially given how young he is. moreso, entertainment/gossip journalists are interested in who dick grayson is dating.

damian also does not treat the reporters kindly. any time a camera is shoved in face or a microphone is offered for comment, he's anything but pleasant. he's sour, a foul boy. he's no prince of gotham, not in the sense that any of his older siblings may have ever been considered. damian will break cameras & rip cords out of hardware if he's solicited for entertainment value.

the public in general had a lot of interest in this scandalous new child when he appeared in gotham at age eight --- that interest quickly turns to empty headlines along the lines of bruce wayne's newest child needs therapy? shortly after damian was first approached. he doubles down on this behavior when it sinks in that when he acts out of violence, people leave him be.

this sentiment stays regardless of anything bruce tries to teach him: damian has learned from how the public treats him that his short temper will make people leave him alone.

12 & 2

Ahh these are the two that have been in my WIP folder the longest out of everything. It's been AGES since I worked on either of them but they both are still in there in hopes that one day I actually do write them and flesh them out to their full potential.

12. Age of Ultron AU

Okay, I think this is literally the oldest WIP I have, it was SO long ago when I started this one--it's basically age of ultron but with Peggy in it and a few other details changed bc I both loved and hated age of ultron when I first started this fic (now I can say with certainty that it's one of my least favorites, but I don't question my past self and her movie tastes)

It follows the plot of age of Ultron and everything kind of still happens in the same way major plot point wise—I only have the very beginnings of it because I wasn't sure how much I wanted to include of the actual movie/how true I should stay to the dialogue, but there is a part I particularly like that I'll leave below the cut from the first chapter (which is still set before the party scene in the movie but after they fight the first battle, if I'm remembering correctly.

2. ACS3 AU

UGH and this one, this one is an agent Carter season 3 like, what I wished would have been created, and it starts out RIGHT as season 2 ends and it's kind of meant to bridge the gap between the end of agent Carter and endgame, but like idk about years and how long and timelines and stuff got complicated but anyway—

They start out looking into Jack's death and Peggy realizes quickly that he was killed for a file with fake information on her, but just a few short hours after his death and their work at the crime scene, Peggy goes back to the Los Angelous office and though she just reported she was taking more vacation mere hours ago, the head of New York (Jack's old boss) wants her back to run the office by Monday at the latest.

Peggy also gets a call after that from Phillips and Stark about creating SHIELD and making a new organization together and there's supposed to be a whole side plot with her getting offered jobs in the middle of the big extensive plot that's going on

Anyway, Peggy starts combing through old war records and eventually finds out that it's Michael and he's not dead and it has something to do with the Arena Club too, but I didn't plan out all the exact plot of that and eventually after dealing with all of that she takes the job with Phillips and moves to DC and she's only been in her new place for a few days when Steve shows up at her door and that's the end.

It also was meant to kind of have a lot of war flashbacks and flashbacks to childhood with her and Michael, and this is one of my more planned out WIPs I've just never had the time and energy to devote to it to write it, though the first chapter has been edited multiple times I've never posted it, but honestly, it's kind of tempting even though I haven't worked on it in over a year rip. I might post it later on AO3 just because you asked about it.

Thank you so much for asking about these two, they hold such a special place in my heart, and I hope maybe one of them will be posted soon, or at least partially out there for everyone to enjoy :)

"Where is she?" Maria said handing Steve a folder. 

"Who?" He asked taking the folder and opening it. 

"The director!" Steve looked over the room and everyone else was there. Tony and Bruce were sitting next to each other with Thor listening to their discussion. Natasha, Phil, and Clint were sitting opposite them and talking to each other. "Fury's coming too," Hill said looking up and down the hallway. "You'd probably have better luck finding her, Cap. I checked her office and the rest of this floor." 

"I'll be right back," he said. He set his folder and his bag down in the seat beside Clint before leaving to go find Peggy. 

Peggy was very good at hiding inside the intricate hallways and rooms of the SHIELD headquarters, but Steve always knew where she went when she was stressed or needed moments to herself. He checked his office first, then the break room on Natasha's floor, then the training room on that floor. He checked them all with no luck, but then realized where she would be. 

He quickly rode the elevator to the floor with the upper level gyms. Most of the higher ranking agents didn't ever come on this floor because the other gyms were more centrally located on their floors. He knew Peggy liked it here because it was often deserted and he quickly found her punching a sand bag in one of the rooms. 

"Peggy," he said. She instantly jumped at the sound of his voice. She had sweat rolling down her face, and she looked more tired than usual. He walked over to where she was and took her hands in his own. "You alright?" 

"Just needed a few minutes to myself," she said. He began to unwrap her hands, and she relaxed a little because of the familiarity of the situation. This was not the first time this had happened. 

"You're late for the Avengers meeting." He tossed the gauze onto one of the benches near the bag Peggy had brought with her. His gaze came back to her before seeing her face. There was something wrong that she wasn't saying. "Pegs, what's wrong?" 

"Nothing, darling. I'm just tired. It's been a long week," she said. She started to gather up her belongings. She shoved everything into her locker and locked it with her keys. "We'd better get to that meeting." She quickly grabbed her black leather portfolio where she put everything she needed for the day before walking out of the room. Steve quickly followed her to the elevator and got on. 

"Do you have a full plan for the defense conference talks?" He turned to her tying to take her mind away from what was bothering her. 

"Almost. I wanted everyone's approval and input before it became a full plan. The end is a little open," she said opening the portfolio in her hands. She glanced over the content inside before snapping it shut again. "It'll all work out."

Slowly but surely going to be making the cast for yet another project on the Sims buuut here they are the terror twins themselves, Amaranth and Alder McCrae: the two protagonists of Crossroads Library.

Amaranth (she/her; cis; pan/poly) is the elder twin by about 10 minutes. Actually played on her high school football team, and is now in college for music production, dreaming of being a famous musician with her own label. She's got a temper and enough bark and bite to ward off people who don't have her or her family's best interest at heart. Pure scary dog privilege. However, she's incredibly skilled at reading people and their emotions, and can be truly kind and loving deep down.

Alder (he/him; trans; bicurious) always seems to have a good poker face and a dry sense of wit to cover the crippling depression. That poker face comes in handy because you wrong him or his sister, or just decide to be a douchebag, he will set up the most elaborate pranks to ruin your entire week. And knows how to get away with it. He's also in college; he's changed his major 5 times now and is currently going with philosophy.

They live right above the family owned bookstore, the aforementioned Crossroads Library, with their Mom and Godfather/Uncle. Their Dad hasn't been in the picture in...well, years. Since they were 8, after their brother Ash unexpectedly passed away. They also each have a cat; Amaranth has a black cat with a white spot over his eye named Bowie, and Alder has a white cat with a black spot over her eye named Freddie.

Here is a brief summary of what is happening in Wikipedia right now:

In the last few years (3-4 years) the WikiProject Indigenous peoples of North America, which was originally created to improve the quality and coverage of native issues and native articles on wikipedia, has been hijacked by a small number of users with an extremist agenda. They have been working diligently over the last few years to change the definition of both what it means to be an Indigenous American and even what it means to be state and federally recognized.

The four or five key players (Mainly Editor Yuchitown, Bohemian Baltimore, ARoseWolf, (now retired editor CorbieVreccan, Netherzone and Oncamera) who are part of the “Native American Articles Improvement Project” started implementing these changes slowly, but they started pursuing their goals aggressively after November 2023, when state-recognized tribes retained their voting rights in NCAI. Essentially, after the movement to delegitimize state-recognized tribes failed officially, the key players doubled down on altering and controlling the flow of information about Native Americans through Wikipedia.

The talk page of Lily Gladstone’s article has a relevant discussion here. Initially, the leaders of the WikiProject removed any reference to her being a “Native American Actress” and instead had her as “Self-identifying as Blackfoot” and “Self-identifying as Nez Perce” because her blood quantum was too low to be enrolled in either tribe.

Eventually they relented and changed her category to being “Of Nez Perce Descent” but you can see in the discussion that they are referring to an article that these editors (Yuchitown, Bohemian Baltimore, and CorbieVreccan) themselves appeared to have mostly written and revised:

This statement is very much at odds with even the government’s description, as seen below;

The DOJ Office of Tribal Justice Office on their webpage “Frequently Asked Questions About Native American”, question “Who is an American Indian or Alaskan Native” states:

“As a general principle, an Indian is a person who is of some degree Indian blood and is recognized as an Indian by a Tribe and/or the United States. No single federal or tribal criterion establishes a person's identity as an Indian. Government agencies use differing criteria to determine eligibility for programs and services. Tribes also have varying eligibility criteria for membership.”

In addition, “List” pages have been created on Wikipedia for federally and state recognized tribes. The Wikipedia “List” page for state-recognized tribes is inaccurate in its interpretation of state recognition and not supported by expert reliable sources--(1) Cohen’s Handbook of Federal Indian Law 2012 edition, (2) NCSL.org current stand on state recognition (not the archived list from 2017 which NCSL no longer supports), (3) Koenig & Stein’s paper “Federalism and the State Recognition of Native American Tribes: a survey of state-recognized tribes and state recognition processes across the United States” (both 2008 & updated 2013 in book “ Recognition, sovereignty struggles, and indigenous rights in the United States: A sourcebook”)

State-recognized tribes who have received recognition through less formal but acceptable means have been moved from the Wikipedia list page on state-recognized tribes to the Wikipedia list page of unrecognized or self-identifying organizations.

The Wiki page "List of organizations that self-identify as Native American tribes", in particular, is being used to purposely defame legitimate Native American individuals who are members of the tribes/Native communities that are on this list. 

By the parameters set up on Wikipedia, only the colonizer’s governments can acknowledge who is Native American through either federal recognition or state recognition. If an individual is not a member of a federally or state-recognized tribe, then it is determined that they cannot be Native American and are, instead, considered “self-identifying” or only “a descendant of ...” (example Lily Gladstone). As a result, Native individuals are currently being tagged as “self-identifying” and their names are put on “list” pages that strongly imply they are “pretend” Indians.

These editors have indicated that they would like “self-identification” to be the default setting for any people who they deem do not fit within the parameters that they themselves created within Wikipedia.

Moreof, these editors are admin and senior editors within the Wikiproject Indigenous Peoples of North America, and are being called in specifically to weigh on Native Identity, and any project involving any Indigenous Group.

Any attempt to correct misinformation, add information, or change any of these articles is often met with being blocked, reported for various offenses, or reported for having a Conflict of Interest, whether or not that is actually applicable. They have use this strategically in many different pages for many different individuals and groups within the scope of their Wikiprojects.

While changing things in Wikipedia does not change the truth, it is a way to control how most people take in information, and thus they hope to manipulate the narrative to better suit their goals.

This is an incomplete list so far that only goes back to September 2023 but I am going to add to it. If you can add to your own part of this list, and send your complaints and information to the arbitrator committee (the email is below) with the involved editors, this will help our case.

The  more tribes who complain, and the more Wikipedia editors complain, the better our case will be.

The place to make complaints on Wikipedia is oversight-en-wpwikipedia.org , and

arbcom-enwikimedia.org . It is most helpful to have an editing account on Wikipedia, because Yuchitown and the others will try to defend themselves using Wikipedia methodology and make anyone who confronts them look like the aggressor (see the other tribes who tried to fight back on Wikipedia I found).

The more people and tribes make complaints the more likely it is that this will work and we can rid ourselves of these monsters.

Some of the tribes I have spoken to are taking legal action against these editors. Any groups affected by their policies should also reach out to the news to make knowledge of this more widespread.

funniest disney history facts i can think of atm

literally EVERYBODY thought the lion king was gonna flop and pocahontas would be their greatest movie ever made. people begged to ditch lion king and work on pocahontas.

the reason robin hood ends so abruptly is that there was an actual ending planned and storyboarded but the crew spent too long arguing about everyone’s fursonas to finish animating it

madam mim was way less comedic in the original book but because her character was too similar to maleficent (who was in their latest film at the time), the sword and the stone crew decided to differentiate her by making her fucking hilarious

when making a goofy movie, jeffrey katzenberg (studio chairman at the time) told bill farmer to give goofy “a normal voice.” farmer, who had been voicing goofy for eight years at that point, including in the goof troop show that a goofy movie was a sequel to, was very confused. after making an attempt they decided to scrap that note completely.

as of march 2023, farmer is still voicing goofy, and tony anselmo has been voicing donald since 1986. the 2017 reboot of ducktales, which was slated as “wanting to do for donald what goofy movie did for goofy,” featured both actors as those characters; they had also been doing the voices for the original ducktales and goof troop/goofy movie. all the times goofy and donald interact in the 2017 ducktales however, donald was voiced by guest star don cheadle as a joke
