Addison Montgomery x Female Reader 844 words
You woke up to the familiar blaring of Addison's pager going off and let out an exhausted grumble as you shifted to your side, blindly searching until your hand grasped onto a corner of a pillow. In one swift movement you grabbed onto the fabric and flung it over your head and brought it down upon the person sleeping soundly next to you. A groan came from her and you snuggled deeper into the duvet, satisfied with your aim.
Addison forcefully opened her tired eyes as she stared at the page: 911. With a frown on her lips she tossed the duvet off of her and slid out of bed, quickly searching your floor for her shirt and pulling it over her shoulders. With all of her shuffling around it would be impossible to fall asleep - not that it mattered anyway, once you were awake there was no way that you'd be able to sleep until the next night - so you watched as she moved, confidently and comfortably, around your room. Her red hair tucked behind her ears as she picked up her shoes and plodded her way toward you.
"When does your shift start?" She questioned you as she picked up her coat from the floor.
"Two hours," you replied with a small smile, knowing that you'd probably end up in an on-call room. You heard Addison hum before she pressed a kiss to your head and rushed out of the door. The room fell into silence and you sighed heavily; you were already bored, instantly missing her now that she was gone.
You pressed the end of a pen against your lip, your eyebrows furrowed as you stared at the set of numbers.
"Hey," Addison greeted as she stopped at your side.
"Hey," you mumbled back, not looking up from your board, "do you mind having a look at this?" You said as you passed her the board.
"Hmm, that's really interesting," she hummed as her lips pressed into a tight line before placing the board down onto the desk. Your fingers brushed against the edge as you reached for it before you felt a hand begin to push against the small of your back.
"Addison," she hummed in reply, still guiding you through the hospital. "Where are we going?" You questioned as the two of you missed the turning in line to the on-call rooms and straight through the doors to the stairwell.
Addison turned to face you with a grin on her face, pulling you forward as she stepped backwards into the wall. "I've missed you," she mumbled sheepishly to which you rolled your eyes playfully.
"It hasn't even been three hours," you stated, raising an eyebrow at her as her hands snaked around your waist.
"Still.." she whispered, shrugging her shoulders, and pulled you in closer - butterflies swarmed your stomach, god, this woman was unbelievable sometimes. "Are you saying you haven't missed me?" She questioned, getting impossibly closer to your face, and you shook your head lightly with a smile on your face; of course you had.
"Whatever," you sighed before pressing your lips to hers, your arms coming over her shoulders as the two of you made out. You felt her smile against you and you couldn't help but smile in return, her teeth touching your own.
A loud beep sounded and the two of you jumped back. Your breath got caught in your throat - Mark Sloan stood wide-eyed with one hand on the half open door. A heavy silence encased the three of you as you and Addison stared at Mark and he stared at the both of you. You swallowed dryly and cautiously looked at Addison beside you who had her lips pressed into a thin line.
God, this was awkward.
Finally, Mark's lips broke out into, what you could only describe as, a shit-eating grin. The invisible tension was cut and you felt yourself relax slightly.
"Derek is not going to believe this," Mark chuckled lowly.
"Wait, no-" Addison attempted to stop him but he has already turned on his heel and left the way he came. "Mark.." You bit your lip in an attempt to stop yourself from laughing. Addison turned to you in a huff and you quickly let your smile fall, but she could see it in your eyes. Her mouth falling open, beyond belief, at your state. "You think this is funny?" She accused you and you couldn't help the small giggle that left you. "Unbelievable." She huffed, throwing her hands in the air.
"Addie- it's fine, they were gonna find out sooner or later," you consoled. She frowned at you sheepishly; she being the one that had pulled you into the stairwell in the first place.
"Really? You're really fine that they know?" You nodded your head and pulled her in for a hug. Your eyebrows furrowed when you felt her start to shake.
"Are you crying?"
"No!" She said laughing and pulled away from you. "Did you see Mark's face?" She questioned, struggling to get her sentence out in between small laughing fits. A grin broke out onto your face as you nodded your head frantically. The two of you doubled over in hysterics in the stairwell, your laughter so loud people could hear it on the other side.

how about an addison montgomery x reader and finding out reader has abusive parents thanks!!!!!
Tumblr media
⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️ This one-shot includes the topic of abusive parents. This plot is presented. If this triggers you too easily or you just can´t handle the subject, I urge you NOT to read this work. I am NOT embellishing this topic under any circumstance. Read at your own risk.
ᕚ---ᕘ
The bright sun shone through the large windows of the waiting room at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital as you paced nervously in the waiting room. The thought of the upcoming check-up with Dr. Addison Montgomery made your heart beat faster even though you repeated this year after year. Despite your fears, you knew it was important to get regular checkups, especially after you noticed some unusual symptoms.
When you were finally called, you followed the nurse through the corridors of the gynecological clinic until you finally stood in front of the door to the treatment room. Once inside, Dr. Montgomery greeted you with a warm smile. "Welcome back, y/n. How are you today?"
You forced a smile, concern for your health and life's obstacles overshadowing your usual demeanor. "Thanks, I'm feeling okay so far. I'm here for a checkup because I've noticed a few symptoms that are worrying me."
Addison nodded understandingly and asked you to take a seat. However, as she began to ask the usual questions, she immediately noticed that something was wrong. Your posture was stiff, your answers were short, and you seemed uncomfortable. Quite the opposite from the last times she had seen you. "Can you tell me about the symptoms you've been noticing lately?" She asked softly and you hesitated for a moment before answering. "Well, I have unusual pulling and pressure in my abdomen. I feel very tired in general but I think that's probably just normal."
The redhead frowned slightly as she began to do the examination. When she gestured with her hand to ask you to sit on the exam chair, you flinched and promptly avoided making eye contact with her. "I´m sorry..." you simply interjected and as you continued to sit on the chair, Addison felt an inexplicable restlessness arise within her.
She watched you carefully as she took swabs and checked to see what was going on. As she did so, she recognized subtle signs of fear and insecurity manifesting in your behavior that she had never seen in you before. It was as if there was something in the air, something unspoken, standing between them and demanding their attention. She could practically feel the tension surrounding you, and her instincts told her that there was more going on here than what seemed like a checkup.
After she had also completed an ultrasound on you, Addison sat down on the lounger next to you and quickly decided to ask carefully. "I want to be honest with you. I noticed some signs during the exams that could indicate something might be wrong. I think it might be helpful if you talked about it." She murmured questioningly, placing a soothing hand on your thigh, making you jump at the touch as well.
You looked at her in surprise, your eyes fixed on her with relief. But only hesitantly did you begin to talk about your concerns, which went far beyond the physical symptoms. "Promise you won't tell anyone?" The person you spoke to nodded at you, giving you time to express yourself. She sensed that there was more here than your body had yet revealed, and she wanted to give you the opportunity to open up when you were ready. "I'm your doctor, y/n. Everything you tell me is confidential."
You swallowed hard before finally finding the courage to say the words you had suppressed for so long. "It's my father," you began hesitantly and the gynecologist listened attentively without interrupting. "Since the pandemic and losing his job, he's... he's not exactly... friendly to me."
The reticence and fear had crumbled as you revealed the truth about your home situation to her. You confessed to the constant insults, humiliation and physical abuse you endured from your father and Addison continued to listen intently, offering you an empathetic embrace of comfort and support as you revealed the painful details of your abuse.
When you finished, an oppressive silence fell across the room. Addison felt the weight of your words on her own shoulders. She felt powerless in the face of the suffering you had to endure at such a young age, an inner anger boiling up towards your parents and at the same time a burning desire deep inside her to help you. "Thank you, y/n, for trusting me," she finally spoke in a quiet voice and rubbed your shoulder reassuringly. This time you didn't flinch. "What has been done to you and continues to happen to you is unacceptable and you deserve to be safe and protected. I will do everything in my power to help you get out of this situation."
The shock of what she had heard was deep within her, but she forced herself to remain calm and empathetic. Her first priority was to reassure you that you were safe and that she would help you. She hugged you gently and held you close to her, giving your tears a place to disappear. "Please believe me when I say that you are safe here," she began to speak to you calmly. "No one will hurt you in front of me and if it happens again, you come straight to me, okay?"
You lowered your gaze, tears glistening in your eyes as you let yourself fall into her embrace, feeling the instant warmth and comfort she offered you. For a moment you felt safe, surrounded by the care of this remarkable woman who was willing to stand up for you. “Thank you, Dr. Montgomery,” you whispered, your voice shaking. "It means so much to me to know I'm not alone."
Addison smiled softly and rubbed your back. "From now on it's Addison. I think we're past the formal part. And of course, I'll help you through the difficult times, and I'll be by your side as long as you need me."
At that moment, you knew you had made the right decision to reach out to her. You felt strengthened by her words and beneath all the vulnerability you showed there was also a spark of hope. Hope that you weren't alone, that there were people who cared about you and were ready to help you when you needed it. You felt relieved that you had confided in someone, and Addison promised to support you every step of the way, whether through further testing, therapy, or any other form of police or court help you needed.
As you left the office, you felt a little more confident with her personal phone number and address. Addison Montgomery, who promised to protect you if your father became abusive again and you needed a place to stay. You knew that from now on you were no longer alone but had found an ally in her in the fight against the darkness that surrounded you.
ᕚ---ᕘ
In the weeks that followed, Addison Montgomery and you developed a deep bond that went beyond the boundaries of an ordinary doctor-patient relationship. She had given you her personal address and phone number in case you ever had to run away from home and didn't know where to go. The gesture of care had touched you deeply and shown you that you were not just a patient, but now also had a friendship that you could rely on.
The conversations between the two of you became more and more open and intimate as you worked together to come up with a plan to get yourself out of the dangerous situation you found yourself in. And one Saturday morning, after you had escaped from your father's attacks and came to her, Addison offered to take you in and give you a safe haven, away from your parents' abuse and humiliation.
At first you were unsure whether you should accept the offer. The fear of the unknown, the worry of the consequences, and the fear of becoming too much for Addison held you back. But in the end, your trust, the hope for a better life and the love that she conveyed to you every day prevailed.
At midnight on that same warm spring night, you packed your few belongings and made your way to Addison's house. As you opened the door, a feeling of relief and freedom washed over you. The redhead welcomed you with open arms and a warm, loving smile that showed you that you were finally safe and that she would never let anything happen to you again.
Over the coming weeks and months, you began to settle into your new home, helping Addison with Henry while she was at work. Under her loving care, you slowly blossomed, gained self-confidence, and finally found the courage to leave your past behind you.
Addison supported you every step of the way in your healing, whether it was through therapeutic conversations, medical care, or just her unconditional love and support. Together you went through ups and downs, but you always stood by each other, determined to overcome the darkness together and step into the light of a better future. Your connection was strong, characterized by mutual respect, trust and love and you knew that you would be connected forever.

not a request necessarily i just love talking about addison
imagine if youre really unwell during a shift and addison finds out and goes to see you. when she gets there her heart aches. you’re her best fellow and also…
smaller little imagine
i’m here
Addison hadn’t seen you for a few hours. Ever since your surgery a while ago, she hasn’t seen you roaming the halls. She imagined you were just tired, as the two of you didn’t get much sleep last night after another surgery, which took all night.
And truth be told, after any surgery you usually crash for an hour or two - even just after a routine procedure. But she was getting worried now because it’s nearing five hours and you still haven’t reappeared.
Not to mention you missed breakfast with her, and from the people she’s spoken with, you haven’t left the on-call room you entered earlier.
Izzie offered to show her to the on-call room she spotted you entering earlier today. She stops in front of the door, “She should be in there.”
“Thank you, Dr. Stevens. I owe you,” Addison presses her lips together in a tight and anxious smile.
“It’s no problem, really,” Izzie nods vigorously. “I am just as worried about her as you are.”
Addison takes a deep breath and tries to reassure herself that nothing is wrong with you, but is unable to calm her nerves. The only person who is able to do that these days is you.
She furrows her eyes and prays you’re just sleeping as she opens the door with a creak. On the other side of the door is you laying in a fetal position on the bed. She tilts her head trying to figure out what’s wrong with you, and it comes to her when you let out a strangled cough.
Addison moves to sit on the end of the bed, her gentle hand coming to soothingly rub your shoulder.
“Mm,” You roll over towards her, your face coming to smoosh itself into her side. “I’m tired, Addie.”
“I see,” Addison nodded and ran her hand through your hair. It was damp with sweat and her suspicions came true when she turned her hand over to put on your forehead. “I think you’re sick, darling.”
“No,” You shake your head. “I can’t be. We have surgeries to get to. What time is it?”
“Uh..” Addison looks at her phone, seeing it’s about ten in the morning. “Five hours?”
“What?!” You try to sit up, but you begin to get dizzy so you have to lay back down.
“It’s okay, I promise,” Addison’s hands make their way back to your scalp.
“Just give me a few minutes,” One of your hands makes it to Addison’s thigh, and her other hand comes down to hold yours.
“No, you need to rest,” She squeezes your hand reassuringly.
You groan.
“Why didn’t you tell me you weren’t feeling good?” Addison frowns down at you. “I would have let you sit a surgery out.”
“Because I felt much better earlier,” You promised. “My throat was a little sore, but now I feel like death. I don’t know if I can stand without passing out.”
“Well it’s a great thing you’re surrounded by doctors, now, isn’t it?” Addison moves a piece of your hair and tucks it behind your ear. “How about you just rest for a few more hours and we’ll reevaluate after.”
Addison moves to get up, but you attempt to pull her back, and she looks at you with her eyebrows raised.
“Please stay,” You cry softly. “Your skin is cold and I’m hot.”
“Okay,” Addison gives in, sliding under the covers beside you. “I’ll cancel my surgeries for the next few hours, okay? We’ll push them back.”
You lay your head on Addison’s chest so you can feel her heart beating - there’s a weird comfort to it - and her arms wrap around your shoulders to hold you against her.
“Wait we have that big surgery later—“ You try to sit up again, but Addison pulls you back to her chest.
“I don’t care,” Addison says. “If you need me here, I’m here.”
“Okay,” Your hand finds a sliver of skin that is exposed from her scrub top lifting, and it rests there.
Addison swallows nervously, trying to ignore how good your hand feels on hers as she pulls her phone out to text Callie to let her know to cancel all her surgeries.
Because her heart ached for you, and if you wanted or needed her, she would be there in a heartbeat.

Being Addison's ex and coming back to work in the same hospital, headcannons.
Being Addison Montgomery’s Ex Would Include . . .
Tumblr media
You and Addison had dated in college, both being pre-med, but started to drift when you two went to different medical schools.
You arrived to Seattle Grace Hospital shortly after Addison and Derek’s divorce. Addison was surprised to see you and things were bittersweet on both your guys’ ends.
You and Addison remained polite and you made friends with some of the other doctors. Addison was surprised to find her getting jealous when she saw one of the residents flirting with you, though, and a little relieved when you turned them down.
You two only started talking, though, after the incident with the patient’s neurotoxic blood. You had been one of the doctors in the OR operating on the patient and when Addison found out, she couldn’t help but be worried about you.
Afterwards, when she was finished with the oxygen mask, she felt compelled to check up on you and even a little nervous.
You were touched that she checked up on you and seemed to feel naturally protective, insisting that you get some rest when you mentioned wanting to get back to work. When you pointed out that she was also exposed to the blood, she pointed out that you had fainted whereas she had not. This bickering, just like how you remembered, caused some butterflies in your stomach.
After a nice conversation, Addison said how she didn’t want you to be alone tonight, as she was worried about something happening. Now, you couldn’t deny that seeing her again had reignited a spark inside you, so you carefully suggested she come over.
The smile that lit up her face took your breath away and she agreed. It seemed that you guys were in sync and fell into a coordinated rhythm as she helped you gather your things.
Addison had taken the ferry to the hospital that morning, so you went for your car. Memories of date nights and driving around flooded Addison when she realized that your car was the same. You wanted to drive, but Addison insisted you give her the keys.
“I’ve driven this car how many times, Y/N?”
Addison drove back to your house and helped you get settled. She was quite the mother hen, fussing over you and asking you if you needed anything. You had to admit, you were enjoying this just a teeny bit.
The moment you tried to give Addison your bed, though? The bickering started again. Which ended in you throwing a pillow at Addison and her threatening you because “I know all your tickle spots, Y/N!”
In the end, you guys ended up being unable to sleep and had long talks full of reminiscing and laughter over glasses of red wine.
In the morning, you woke up cuddled up against her. You thought you’d feel weird about it and even though the last time this happened was 20 years ago . . . Things just felt right. So you drifted back to sleep.
Of course, you guys ended up missing your alarms and being late to work.
Addison was still a little worried the next day and kept checking up on you. Eventually, you went out for lunch. When Addison talked to Callie later, her friend kept laying down the hints that maybe something was going to happen between you and Addison. Addison found herself actually desiring that.
After this, you guys were friendly for a while, but inside both of you, there was an ache of wanting more.
It was only when Addison began thinking about moving to Seattle. Things seemed clear for her but then she thought about you and suddenly, it wasn’t clear anymore.
She didn’t want to tell you. It felt like telling you that she was going to a different school for medicine all those years ago.
And when she did end up telling you she was planning on moving, she was quite nervous and fidgety. You just felt hollow.
“Is it because of me?”
Addison was quick to assure you that it wasn’t. She said that it was difficult being at the hospital where there were a lot of painful memories for her.
You understood this, but you also didn’t want Addison to leave again.
You two kept going back and forth about it until you said something like:
“Screw them! Screw Derek, screw Mark, screw all of them. You have nothing to feel embarrassed or ashamed about. You did your best to make that marriage work. If you feel you have to leave, I get that . . . But I don’t know if I can say goodbye to you again. Having you back in my life . . . It’s like spring has sprung and the flowers are blooming.”
And oh, Addison was charmed. In that moment, she wanted to kiss you.
But, things were still a little messy. She was cautious about jumping in a relationship so soon after her divorce.
So you guys agreed to take it slow, to allow Addison to fully get over Derek.
After a couple weeks, she decided she’d stay at Seattle Grace.
Months passed and you two kept up a friendship. It was difficult to be near each other without being with each other but eventually, you guys got there.
Addison had been in the gallery one day, watching you do a difficult, intense survey. It was hours long, reaching well into the night, and she was awed by you. It was over the course of these hours that she knew she couldn’t wait any longer — she needed you.
When you finally completed the pivotal point in the surgery, Addison was on her feet clapping for you. Your eyes met and there was this gleam in them that Addison wanted to see every single day.
At the end of the surgery, she was barely able to wait for you to scrub out and change out of your scrubs. Once you did, she nearly tackled you to the floor with a hug, professing her feelings for you and apologizing for how things ended after college.
This caught you off guard, but you saw how excited Addison was. You invited her over to your house and once again, you guys had a talk over glasses of red wine. Things got sorted out. Feelings were confessed.
Addison kissed you in your kitchen, with an old romantic song on, slow dancing and dipping you, making you laugh.
The night was messy. It was tiring. It was long. But it was also perfect.
Addison spent the night there, watching over you and cooing at how adorable you were when you fell asleep. She was happy to have her arms around you and from there — your relationship bloomed just like the flowers.

LOVE ME TILL YOU LEAVE
Amelia Shepherd x Reader
Tumblr media
SUMMARY
(Complete 19 chapters)
If we're not the ones who's left behind, we're the ones who's going to leave.
Dr. Amelia Shepherd finally found someone who's willing to stay with her for eternity and always chose to be with her. Dr. Shepherd might push this person away because she thinks they're just going to leave like everyone else does.
Dang! How the tables have turned. And how you prove her wrong.
Notes:
This is my first take writing an original character x reader relationship. If you people want me to continue, please tell me, and if you have any suggestions, leave a comment. Sorry if there are a lot of grammatical errors. English is not my first language. Also, this is my first time writing for ao3, and I'm not very familiar with the terms often used by the usual writers.
P.S. I know this is not my first story on AO3 and on tumblr, but this is the first one I wrote, and I always forgot to post it.
P.P.S. Should I post every chapter here, too?

— °˖ ⊹ ꒰ 🌿 ꒱ tearing up old wounds ; addison montgomery (grey’s anatomy)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#.                   ( season 3 episode 14 ) you woke up after inhaling the neuro toxic from the colon cancer patient’s surgery, and addison was stupid enough to run in after the patient’s anesthesia was wearing off, ripping up bandages from old wounds
content warning;      suggestive content, afab reader, implied homewrecker! reader, age-gap (reader is in the same intern year as meredith), mention of surgeries, blood, intubation,
a/n.                                        I had this little idea while rewatching the show, I fell in love with addison all over again, ugh she is so hot- enjoy
Tumblr media
everything was foggy, you still felt nauseous, you were still shivering even under the thick blanket, and the oxygen mask on your face felt more suffocating than the heavy feeling in your chest. blinking, moving your head around and trying to figure out where the heck you are.
“I thought you were on burk’s service today.” you heard an all too familiar voice coming from your side, faint, and sort of mumbled, but you knew who it was, you knew exactly who it was. you felt weak, struggled to move your hand up to your face to rub your eyes, to help yourself to see better.
“you went in there…” you croak, taking a shaky breath in as you spot her green eyes in the haze of your vision. you gulp again, trying to compensate for how dry your nose and mouth feel because of the oxygen mask. she is right in front of you, if you could just
you can tell by her blurry appearance and her messy red hair. she looks so tired and worn out, like every muscle in her body aches, just like yours does, and just like that realization makes you wonder if maybe you should have requested to stay on her service, maybe this whole thing wouldn't have happened with the two of you. “I did.” she whispers, her throat hoarse and scratchy.
“but i couldn't watch her suffer, fight against the intubation like that..."  her voice trails off, and her hand reaches out for you, as if she wants to touch your face, caress your cheek but can't bring herself to do it. "i couldn't let her feel so scared, miserable." she sits up and leans on the bed next to you, reaching out to tuck some strand of hair behind your ear. “what do you mean?” you ask, not understanding whatever she is hinting at. you'd know because you were in her position once after your surgery, the surgery you had to get after a psych patient went rogue, dressing up as another surgeon then going around, and stabbing people in the stomach.
but then you remember-
she was there when you were fighting against the intubation, you remember it clearly. the same green eyes were staring at you, frightened above the rim of the surgical mask. the same lips formed the words, "you will be okay," over and over again. you try hard not to cry as you recall the events, because even though you are happy, you're also afraid.
"can we... can you lay next to me?"  you finally manage to say, because you're starting to become restless from being trapped under this blanket, sitting still isn't really appealing anymore. "of course, i'm here darling." she smiles softly, and you could swear you're seeing her tears glisten in the dim light of the room.
addison shifts in her bed again, putting the green strap around her head then getting up to lay next to you on your bed. you catch doctor bailey rolling her eyes at the nurse's station before coming over and closing the curtain around the two of you.  your breathing has gotten steadier, your heart feels calmer, and you close your eyes slowly as you settle into her embrace, inhaling deeply the scent of her scrubs, smelling like a freshly sterilized operating room.
her heartbeat slows down to match the beat of your own and you sigh contently, relaxing in her arms. “thank you.” you whisper quietly. she kisses the top of your head. you don’t think there is anything she wouldn’t give to make sure you are alright. “no need to thank me, sweetheart.” she murmurs softly, wrapping her arm around you tighter. your fingers are laced together now, her thumb rubbing soothing circles on your skin.

Addison walks towards the break room, hoping to find Amelia there before it’s too late. She walks into the room, luckily seeing the youngest Shepherd sitting on the couch, coffee in hand, talking with Maggie Pierce. “Amelia, could I talk to you for a minute?” She says right away, skipping the pleasantries.
With a look, Amelia stands up. “Sure.” She chuckles quietly, slightly nervous. “What’s up?” She asks after Maggie leaves to room for the two.
“I called Doctor Y/L/N here to help me with a patient of mine, she’s arriving today.” She tells, trying to gauge what Amelia’s thoughts are about seeing her ex again. “I wanted to tell you before she’s here.”
“Okay, thanks for telling me.” And with that Amelia leaves the room. Addison sighs, rubbing her forehead. Suddenly she isn’t too sure if she did the right thing, but she really needs Y/N here, she’s the best in her field. She just has to hope everything goes smoothly.
“Addison!” Y/N’s voice calls out excitedly.
The red head turns around to see her doctor friend walking towards her with a bright smile. “Hey, stranger.” Addison laughs, meeting her half way to hug her. “I’m so glad to finally see you. How was the world?” She pulls away, her hands on Y/N’s shoulders to see how much she has changed over the years.
“The world was good.” Y/N decided to leave the practice in Los Angeles to join the Doctors Without Borders, traveling all over the world with them. “How’s Seattle? I didn’t think you’d come back here.” She looks around the hospital. This isn’t her first time in Grey Sloan Memorial, but it has been a long time since she was last here.
“Seattle is good. You know I go where babies need me, and this baby needs us both.” She nods her head forward, so they start walking. “The baby is two months old and his heart is incredibly weak. He won’t survive without a donor heart, but getting a heart that small will take too much time.”
“That’s where I come in.”
“That’s where you come in.” Addison smiles, she missed working with her. “His heart could become strong enough, if you fixed the veins around it.” They walk into a room full of pictures of the baby’s heart and veins.
Y/N looks through the pictures, at times picking one of them up to see it closer. The heart is compromised, and the baby won’t survive long if they do nothing, but the surgery Addison is talking about is incredibly risky. Fortunately, Y/N is a risk taker.
“I can do it,” she states, “but I’m gonna need a lot of help. His vitals need to be monitored closely.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, Addison nods. “I’ll get you anything you need.” She pauses for a moment, contemplating on saying anything. “Amelia is here, you know? Incase you wanted to talk to her.”
“Oh.” Y/N clears her throat, cleaning up the pictures into a neat pile so she wouldn’t have to look at Addison staring at her. “I didn’t know that.” She mumbles.
The now silent and tense atmosphere of the room makes Addison question whether she made the right decision. Amelia is one of the most important people in her life, she’s her sister, but she also cares about Y/N a lot. Their relationship didn’t really end on the best terms, mostly because of Amelia’s addiction, but the relationship itself was good. They both were happiest Addison has ever seen when they were together.
“I’ll make a surgery plan and then get back to you, okay?” Y/N states, not waiting for Addison to answer as she leaves the room.
Her mind is all over the place, which makes her walk through the hallways with less attention than usually, though she does greet the familiar faces going past her. However, she doesn’t notice the person walking right towards her with the same state of mind. So, they crash into each other.
All the pictures Y/N was holding fly to the floor. “Shit, I’m sorry.” She grumbles, kneeling down to gather them.
“Y/N?”
The familiar voice makes her head snap up. Amelia is standing over her, an indescribable look on her face. The exes stare at each other in silence, both unsure what to do. They both knew of the others presence in the hospital, but they didn’t think they’d bump into each other, at least not yet.
Her breath hitches as she looks over Amelia’s face. As much as she doesn’t like admitting it, she missed her. “Amy.” With a mumble, Y/N stands up, dusting off her scrubs.
“Amelia, no one calls me Amy anymore.” She says with a small smile. Y/N just nods, putting it to her mind. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah.”
Amelia scratches the back of her neck. “So, Addison called you.”
“She did.” The pictures are starting to crease in her grip. “There’s a..baby, obviously, uhm, and she needed help.” She clears her throat, looking around for an exit. “I actually have to make a surgery plan for tomorrow, so, I’ll see you around, I guess.”
Going to walk past Amelia, she stops once a hand takes hold of her arm. “Could we talk? Just the two of us, later today.”
The ask makes Y/N hesitant, but the way Amelia is looking at her makes her give in. “Okay.”
“Awesome,” a smile spreads on Amelia’s face, “coffee, after work?”
“I’ll see you then.” She lets go and Y/N walks away, Amelia’s eyes never leaving her back.
Amelia paces around the lobby of the hospital, her mind racing a mile a minute. She has always considered Y/N her biggest love, maybe even soulmate, if she truly believes in them. Seeing her again has brought the feelings back to the surface and she isn’t sure what to do with them.
Her thoughts come to a halt when she notices Y/N walking towards her. Instead of her scrubs, she’s now wearing her everyday clothes. She looks just as beautiful as she did all those years ago. And she decides to tell her so, “you look beautiful.” Y/N hums with a slight smile, her cheeks turn warm, but she pays no mind to it. “There’s a small cafe down the street.”
“Let’s go then.” As they walk side by side, Y/N bites the inside of her cheek, looking down at the pavement. The silence is uncomfortable and they desperately want to break it, but neither of them know what’s appropriate to say in a situation like this. “How have you been?” Y/N decodes to ask, glancing at Amelia.
“Better. A lot better actually. I’ve been sober for a long time, though it’s still hard sometimes. I got two new sisters, sort of,” she chuckles, “Meredith and Maggie. And I’m the head of neuro department.”
“I heard about Derek. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah.” Amelia sighs. “It’s okay.” She opens the door of the cafe for Y/N before stepping inside herself. At the counter, they order their coffees, and when it comes time to pay, Amelia pushes Y/N’s hand away from the machine. “My treat.” She pays both of their coffees.
“You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” They move to the other side pf the counter to wait for their coffees. “It’s the least I can do after,” she pauses, “everything.”
“It wasn’t completely your fault.” She looks away from her. “You were going through a tough time.”
“That’s no excuse. I hurt you and drove away one of the best things in my life.”
Being one of the best things in her life sounds like an exaggeration, but the sincerity in Amelia’s eyes makes her believe she really means it. “You’re also important to me.” Before the conversation van keep on going, the barista shouts their names. They take their coffees and find a quiet corner place to sit.
“So, what have you been doing all there years?”
“I moved around with Doctors Without Borders.” Y/N sips her drink. “Also studied a bit on the side.”
“And your love life?”
If Amelia was anything, she was blunt. If she wanted know something, she’d ask, Y/N usually liked her unfiltered talk. “Love life, huh?” She giggles with a shake of her head. “There were some flings and one time things, you know, to release stress I suppose. But nothing that stayed.” Amelia listens intently while she drinks her coffee. “And you?”
She shrugs. “There was Link and Kai, but just like every relationship I have had, they ended with someone’s heart broken.” Amelia has a grin on her face. She has already gotten over the past two relationships, but it’s still disheartening to have failed relationships.
“Hm, you’ll find your person.”
“Maybe,” Amelia keeps eye contact with Y/N, “I really hope so.”
Looking down, Y/N taps the mug in front of her with her nails, all the feelings around them getting overwhelming. “Listen,” she changes the subject, “could you be in the surgery tomorrow? I need someone to monitor her brain activity, and you are the best there is.” She lifts her head to give Amelia a teasing look. “Or at least you used to be. Have you gotten worse over the years?”
“Worse? Do you know who you’re talking to? I’m better than ever.” Amelia answers to the teasing look with a challenging look of her own. “What I’m hearing is, you need my help because you aren’t in the best shape.” Her elbows are leaning against the table.
“Oh, wow.” Y/N crosses her arms. “Your ego is still sky high.”
Amelia laughs, which Y/N giggle as well.
The surgery has been going on for six hours already, and the whole room is tense. Amelia and Addison are monitoring the baby’s health, while Y/N is rerouting the veins near the heart. The surgery is already nearing its end, but there’s still things to do.
Y/N lets out a sigh, shaking her hand to ease the pain in her wrist. It has stayed on one position for a long time. She can feel multiple pairs of eyes on the side of her head, there’s an audience in the viewing room. This is an once in a lifetime surgery after all. Double checking everything she has done, Y/N lifts her head to her friends. “Are his vitals good?” The two nod. “Alright, we’re ready to close.” She says shakily, not ready to relax just yet. But she can feel the relief coursing through the room.
The sutures closing the opening on the baby’s chest don’t take long, as the wound isn’t as big as on an adult. The moment the last suture is on its place, people in the viewing room start cheering, so do the doctors in the operation room. Addison and one other doctor take the baby to NICU, not before thanking Y/N though.
Walking out of the room, Y/N slumps down to a chair, taking off her scrub cap. Amelia sits down next to her. “Watching you work is seriously magnificent.”
Y/N laughs, “you’re being dramatic.”
“I’m not!” Amelia throws her arm around Y/N’s shoulders, giving her a side hug. “You’re incredibly and I love you.” Y/N turns to look at her. “Give me another chance? Go on a date with me?”
“Okay.”
“Yeah?” Amelia grins widely.
“Yeah.” Y/N smiles too, her heart beating a hundred miles. She isn’t sure if it’s from the surgery she just did, or the fact that Amelia is looking at her like she’s the only person she cares about.
Amelia nods, feeling like she just won the lottery. “I’ll pick you up at eight, wear something pretty.” She kisses her cheek before walking off, going straight to Addison to tell the good news.

— Boa noite, Doutora Montgomery. Tudo bem se eu me juntar a você?
— Eu sei. Acredite, eu entendo.
A ruiva te observa atentamente,.
— Você me parece alguém interessante.
— Desculpe-me. Aqui não é lugar para fazermos isso. O meu corpo realmente se descontrolou e... — Ela respira fundo, tentando encontrar as palavras necessárias.

You know what I love about Meradd/Meddison? it's the fact that despite their very brief moments they somehow still managed to show just how great their chemistry is without even trying. It's just so effortless. Hehe.

Addison Montgomery x Female Reader 1351 Words
"Here you go," Addison says handing over the papers to Derek.
"Divorce papers," he states as he examines the sheet. "You've already signed," he mumbles, and she glances over at you as you work.
"Yeah, yeah I have." A small smile on her lips as she looks fondly at you.
When Addison had walked through those hospital door, you couldn't believe your eyes. She was there, in Seattle, in the same hospital, in the same area, at the same time. You hadn't seen her in years, probably well over a decade now, but there was no doubt that it wasn't her. She looked good. She looked really, really good. Her long red hair curled over shoulders cladded in fur from her black coat, a grey skirt wrapped around her hips and she wore heels that aided her already tall height. Addison Forbes Montgomery was always a force to be reckoned with. So when you saw her stood behind Derek Shepherd and, poor, Meredith Grey with that look in her eyes, you couldn't help but stay a little while.
That night had been a while ago, and you watched as she settled into the hospital, though the tension between the three were, understandably, rising. You hadn't decided to make yourself known to her as there was never a good moment, the last being that first night she was here, there was no need to rush anyway, she might not even remember you, you had changed substantially since.
You were in the NICU, there had been an emergency c-section last nights and the baby was so small, probably the smallest one you had ever seen. You were checking his tubes, making sure everything was working properly, when salmon scrubs caught your eye. You glanced at her as she walked past the glass, a smile was on her lips as she talked to the person next to her and you felt your heart flutter. You focused back on the baby and felt yourself wince, when you had left school knowing that you would most likely never see her again, you though that was it which left you to just push your massive crush on her to the side instead of dealing with it. And now you were paying for it, fawning over her like you did so many years ago. You needed to do something. Anything.
You found yourself in the bar, slowly sipping on a small glass, dressed up and swallowing all your sorrows away. You had gone on a date and left as quickly as you could, the types of people you found were unspeakable, you hoped to never see that person ever again. You signalled for another when you felt someone take the seat next to you. You glimpsed at them and when your eyes caught red hair you looked again. It was definitely her; well, you thought, it was now or never.
"Bad day, Montgomery?" You questioned as Joe passed you another drink. You picked it up and swirled the liquor with the straw, staring at it, looking, hopefully, unbothered. Meanwhile, Addison had turned her whole body to you, at recognising your voice, in shock. Her eyes surveyed your side profile as you stirred your drink and, after a while of no reply, you looked back at her. Addison could not believe her eyes. Your eyebrows furrowed with a smile as you took a sip of your drink and Addison, did that thing she always did when she was embarrassed, brought her hand up to thread through the top of her hair, pushing it back and tucking it behind her ears while she let out a small laugh. You watched as she did that and you felt your heart flutter, bringing back old memories.
"You following me, Y/l/n?" She smirked as she was handed her own drink.
You shrugged, "Only if you want me to." Addison chuckled and pulled herself closer to you; this was going to be a long night.
You were definitely drunk now, and so was Addison. It was late and the two of you were still sat at the bar talking.  You had no idea how your conversation turned to this point, but it had.
"What're you going on about, Addie? I had the biggest crush on you in high school, like for the whole of high school," you blurted out and Addison was never one to hold back.
"How about now?" She flirted back with a smirk, her eyes heavy from all the drinks.
You paused, thinking about your answer, "I'd be stupid not to, you're gorgeous, everyone, at least, has a small crush on you, Addison Montgomery."  She stared at you and you stared back. "I'm so happy you're here," you smiled and she smiled back, "we should probably get going," you mumbled and patted your bag for your keys.
"Whoa! Whoa!" Joe started, stopping you. "I'll call you guys a cab," he nodded.
"Smart," you looked back at Addison and pointed at him, nodding, "smart."
You woke up first that morning, light spilling from the curtains and stabbing you in the brain. You let out a groan as you rubbed your eyes and let your arm fall back down the the bed, only to whack someone. You quickly pulled your hand away as you whipped your head around to face them. Familiar, red hair spilled over the white pillows and you felt your eyes widen. You lifted the duvet to discover that you were only in underwear, what had happened last night?
Quietly, you moved from the bed and moved around the room, stepping on random items of clothing, and quickly pulled on something decent and clean to wear. You stepped into the kitchen, your bare feet on the cold tile causing you to hiss out in pain. A clock shone the time in glowing numbers and you picked up the pace, you were going to be late. Did Addison have work today? You didn't know; it was better to let her sleep, you'd leave her a note, a sharp pain travelled through your head, and a painkiller.
Addison let out a yawn as she stretched out from her sleep, she let out a satisfied hum as she curled into the pillows. Her eyes flung open and she sat up, this wasn't her bed, and where were her clothes? Her eyes scanned the room and she quickly found her coat pooled on the floor, she stumbled her way toward it and rummaged for the pocket. She pulled out her phone and her eyes widened at the time. She opened her phone to find that she had a text from... you? When the two of you had exchanged numbers, she didn't know, but she was thankful for it now:
"Morning, Addie, sorry for having to leave you. I didn't know if you had work so I just let you sleep, there's a glass of water on the table and a painkiller, coffee in the brewer that I know you'll probably need and you can take whatever clothes you want from the closet. Hope you feel better than I did, and there's some money on the kitchen counter for a cab home. Again, I'm really sorry that you had to wake up alone."
A smile made its way onto her lips, you were always so thoughtful and she quickly made her way back to the bed to take the pill on the side table. Your bedroom, she was sat in your bedroom, in your home. She nodded to herself, it was very you.  All these years, and you were still you, butterflies flittered in her stomach, it was weird being here without you.
Addison made her way into the hospital around midday, she had gotten home in a cab and had the money to pay you back. Derek didn't want her, she knew that, she had always known that, she just wasn't ready for it to be over. And now she was doing what was best.
"Here you go," Addison said as she handed over the papers to Derek.
He took the papers and looked at her before flicking through the sheets, "Divorce papers," he stated as he examined them. "You've already signed," he mumbled and Addison glanced over at you as you work.
"Yeah, yeah I have," a small smile made its way onto her lips as she looked fondly at you.

The sun was slowly dipping towards the horizon as Addison made her way to your house. She had not seen her best friend in a week, and that made her spontaneously stop by to check on you, her concern growing with each passing day without contact. The redhead knew you had been under a lot of stress lately, often withdrawn and thoughtful and she just wanted to make sure you were okay.
When she reached your well-kept house, she rang the doorbell and waited patiently. But even after the second ring and subsequent knock, she did not hear any footsteps or a key being inserted into the lock to open the door. It was quiet. Too quiet for her liking.
A little uneasy, she stumbled down the terrace and shuffled around the house, hoping that she would find you there. When the certified gynecologist entered your garden and walked towards the terrace, she could already see you from afar. You sat on one of the lawn chairs, staring at the ground.
Your hair, which had once been so soft and shiny, seemed dull and unkempt. They lay disheveled on your head like a bird's nest. She could clearly see that you did not look well - your eyes were puffy, with deep circles under your eyes while your skin had taken on a pale tone. You seemed absent, not even noticing her, your vision was clouded and your eyes had a shadow that the redhead had never seen in you before.
“Y/n?” Addison called out quietly so as not to scare you. Still, you jumped and turned your head to look at her, nervously tugging at the sleeves of your sweater. Your eyes seemed empty but you still tried to force a smile at her. "Addy. What are you doing here?"
Addison Montgomery walked closer to you, sat down on one of the comfortable lawn chairs and placed her bag in her lap. "I am worried about you, sweetie. You do not look well. How are you?" she asked carefully, reaching out her hand. She carefully took your cold fingers and intertwined them with hers, the redheads thumbs twirling tender circles over the pale skin.
The gynecologist felt her heart beat faster as she looked at you and was met with total physical coldness. You sighed deeply and looked past her into the distance to avoid her gaze. She noticed that you were acting strangely, you were usually like an open book to her, but now you seemed to be hiding something. "I am fine."
With a short tug, you pulled your hand away from her and for a brief moment your sleeve, which you had previously placed above your upper knuckles, slipped up. Fine red lines decorated your wrist and Addison swallowed hard. Her heart sank when she realized what was going on and how bad you were feeling. Some of them were still quite fresh while others had already turned a purple color and were trying to close up in order to heal.
With shaking hands, she grasped your hand again, pulled it towards her and stared at it for a moment before gently pulling the material up and seeing the full extent of your feelings. She stared at you, stunned. She could not believe what she was seeing. "Oh darling.. You could have spoken to me. I am here to listen to you and help you when you need me."
You finally let the tears you had held back for weeks flow and let out all the emotions you had suppressed for so long. "Your job is so stressful and your relationship with Derek is at a dead end. I did not want to be an unnecessary burden on you." you whispered and Addison immediately jumped up from her seat and hugged you tightly as she rocked you back and forth.
"I am here for you. We will get through this together," she whispered soothingly and you sniffled loudly, trying to calm yourself down. She sensed the eerie tension in the air, but still encouraged you to continue. You hesitated for a moment before you continued speaking with a hiccup between each word, all your worries and fears flowing out of your system. "I feel like I have lost myself."
Addy smiled softly and stroked your hair lightly, listening to you carefully and reassuring you that she would stand by you. She struggled for the right words when she saw how fragile and vulnerable you seemed and was afraid of saying the wrong thing. "You are not lost. You just went astray and we will find the right path again. We will find a way to deal with this."
You nodded, your tears not stopping falling. You sat in silence on the terrace for a while, holding each other in your arms and feeling your friendship grow even stronger. The evening sun bathed the place in warm light and painted a sad picture on the white wall of the house. "Thank you, Addy."
Addison knew it would be a long journey to bring you out of your darkness, but she was determined to be there for you and support you through this difficult time. She had discovered that her best friend had been in a moment of despair, and she knew that together you could overcome any challenge because your friendship was strong enough to overcome anything while finding your way back to the light together.
This was just the beginning of a long and painful process, but together you were able to overcome it. Albeit with a lot of time.

An Addie ask for you!
Addie sees y/n getting hit on at a bar, which y/n he clearly uncomfortable with. Addison swoops in and saves the day
this just drew my attention immediately and i actually need this to happen to me. friend addie who swoops in to save reader, but reader has a fat crush on addie?????
also a tiny bit of angst
saving grace
You grimace as a big whiff of scotch reaches your nose. This man has been talking for at least twenty minutes about something you didn’t care about, and he wouldn’t go away.
He also kept inching closer to you, and you sat up straighter by the minute, ready at any time to reach for your pepper spray.
You look around the bar once again, looking for someone - anyone from the hospital. But there’s no one here.
You’ve stopped turning your head when someone comes in the door, because you’ve honestly lost all hope for a saving grace.
You huff out a sigh as he changes the topic to his job for the twelfth time. You were tired of hearing about how his work crush turned him down and that he needs someone to fulfill his needs.
You tense when you feel a hand grab your hip, but relax a bit when the familiar smell of Addison’s perfume reaches your nose.
“Hey,” Addison smiles, leaning down to leave a kiss on your cheek. “Go along with it.”
“Hi love,” You smile up, leaning up to place a small kiss on her lips.
It wasn’t hard for you to pretend to be with Addison, because you already wish you were. And you’d be lying if you said you’d never fantasized about it before.
“How was your day?” Addison takes a seat on your side, moving to push the man out of her way.
Your cheeks heat slightly, “Fine.”
“Derek wasn’t treating you bad again, was he?” Addison frowns.
This was all normal conversation to you, but it held more intimacy than normal. Probably because you just had your first kiss. You loved it.
“Hey, lady!” The guy slurs.
Addison holds up her pointer finger to silence him, “Because I’ll talk to him for you.”
“Oh, you don’t have to,” You shrugged and look down at the counter. “It’s my fault for messing up.”
“Hey,” Addison shakes her head, tilting your head towards her again. “Don’t say things like that.”
“I mean..” You sigh. “He’s not lying.”
“Y/n,” Addison frowns. “You’re extraordinary. If Derek can’t see that, then maybe you should study under another neurosurgeon. Or even switch specialties all together. Come work with me.”
You shake your head, letting out a small but breathy chuckle, “Maybe.”
“I’ll request you for next week,” Addison gives you a look, and you’re lost in her eyes for a minute.
“Hold on,” She tells you, turning in her seat. “If you don’t stop breathing in my ear, I will kick you in a place you don’t want to be kicked.”
“Sorry lady,” He put his hands up. “But that’s my date. We were here first.”
“That’s my girlfriend,” Addison turns her body, her hand on her hip, and her head tilted. You imagine her eyebrows are raised, because the man backs off, going to bother someone else.
You let out a sigh, “Thank you, Addie.”
“Of course sweetheart,” Addison shrugs it off.
“No, really,” You smile gratefully. “I almost maced him. If you had been a few minutes later.. I might have been facing charges.”
Addison laughs at that, “I don’t doubt it. I see you gripping your spray.”
She grabs your hand and removes it from your pocket.
A tingling sensation is left on your skin after she lets go, and you look away, embarrassed, because you know none of this would ever be real.
“Thanks for the help,” You put some money on the bar table. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Why?” Addison stands. “I just got here.”
“I’m tired,” You try to shrug it off, but she isn’t having it.
“Did he actually do something to you?” You see fury growing in her eyes. “Or was it Derek? I’ll talk to him tomorrow, just stay here.”
You shake your head, “No.. it’s not that it’s..”
She looks at you like she’ll listen to whatever you have to say, but you know it’s not real.
“You know what? It’s nothing,” You laugh at yourself bitterly, pushing the door to the bar open, and breathing in the fresh air.
“Talk to me,” Addison grabs your wrist, pulling you back into her.
You spin into her arms, your hands landing on her shoulders while her hands are on your back. Your breath is caught in your throat at how close your faces are.
“Addison..” You bite the inside of your cheek. “You don’t feel it, do you?”
“Yes, Y/n. I have for a while now,” Addison admits softly.
“Me too..” You smile. “Since you started here and gave me my first cup of coffee from you.”
Addison smiles at the thought.
“Can I kiss you?” She asks, lifting a hand to your cheek.
“Please do,” You nod vigorously as her lips meet yours.

Yeah so I dropped the chap this morning, nearly fell asleep while posting it on ao3. If you're into meradd/meddison give it a read (CW: meredith needs therapy, also it's the canonical aftermath of a sewerslide attempt yk?)
"Her gaze dropped to the redhead’s hand, contemplating if she should actually listen to herself and do what she wants for once, and then deciding to fuck it. Tonight she’s too tired to fight it. Tonight she’s too tired to overthink it." Meredith didn't have it easy, even though most people seemed to want to believe that she did. When her mental health spiraled leading up to the ferryboat crash she knew it wouldn't end well. Picking up the pieces in the aftermath can be painful and hard when you're alone. Meredith knew she wasn't - but sometimes she needed reminding someone's there for her luckily it didn't take her long to find all that she needed. Accepting what she needs well that may take some time.
The title and work itself are inspired by Vacant from kxllswxtch. This is going to be probably the first in a line of works inspired by music that's essentially viewed as emo rap.
